It was just on fox, it's going on right now supposedly. Ironicly, right after Whitebeards powers are revealed, coincidence? i think not! and they said they do not think a tsunami is likely, oda foreshadowing on Japan?
Earthquake centered in Tokyo :( Oda fortune telling perhaps?

…well, shit.
My sister's over there right now, I hope she's alright.

I'm more reminded of this.

That is kind of weird that after a quake man is revealed in OP an earthquake hits but it easily could've happened to any other manga.
Do you know what scale it was?
-
Predicting an earthquake will happen in Japan is like predicting someone will put syrup on there pancakes here in Canada.
-
It's obviously due to the magnitude of One Piece lately.
-
Now if 2 tsunamis hit Japan on opposing sides, THAT would be freaky.

i read it was 6.9 .
and it is weird after 552/3 this happens.. now china got hit by a typhoon on the same day, ive read O.O

One Piece is getting too awesome to be contained in this universe. It's starting to mess with the weather on Earth. Soon the planets' orbits will go out of sync. By 2012 the universe won't be able to take it anymore, thus causing the end. It appears it was foretold by the Mayans many millenia ago.
And a 6.9, huh?
-
Apparently it was a 7.1 magnitude, that's strong! I don't think any of my family members are in Tokyo right now, hopefully. But this is nearly as bad as the quake that hit Kobe, my mom's hometown, back in '95. Surprisingly it doesn't sound like there were any casualties… maybe because it happened far offshore? No danger of a tsunami either thankfully.
While it was unusually strong, I don't think you could call anything happening in reference to an earthquake in Japan a coincidence.
-
What's the average strength of the earthquakes that hit Japan?
-
Magnitude 7.1?! Jee-zuss! Those tectonic plates musta been pissed at somebody for that crap to happen…

Maybe they saw you posting.

I'm in the same boat as you.

Are you retarded?

If anyone here loses family members or som'm like that, mdmartin's post is gonna get tasteless as fuck. The TheHerald will make a bajillion posts for god-knows-why, lots of people will complain, fun times for all…

LOL! I hate Photobucket!
And yes, Polar Bears are awesome.
-
If you need a facepalm, may I recommend this one:
Much cooler than polar bears.

CaptainShmeckle sighed as he watched the youth attempt to shoot the animal. With a gentle veterans hand he patently pried the boy away from his aim and away from the lolcat, struggling from the vise like grip of the bear trap.
"Son, maybe not just yet, I don't want you to make a mistake we can't go back on eh?"
The boy nodded tentatively and withdrew to the side.
Schmeckle approached the lolcat.
He pulled out a club and starting mericlessly bludegoning the lolcat."A true hunter beats them to death."
The boy stared in awe at the master in his work.
-
What… the hell are you talking about? Is it beyond the comprehension of my conscious mind?
-
Kairouseki, he's mocking the fact that Captain Shmeckie said to Insider2000 not to do that specific Facepalm and then made another facepalm even worse.
Remember kids, over-explaining never leads to complaining
-
TheHerald should be a writer. He's able to turn what he witnesses into awesome stories.
-
That's exactly what I'm in school for little britches.

Hahaha! It's amazing how people put you on their ignore lists, you're just so damn entertaining.

That's right.

.....
What? -
I'm easily understanding a lot of what Herald is saying.
Strangely, I'm not frightened by this. I think my understanding of this is sanity, and not insanity.
-
Had this been CLAMP and not Oda we wouldn't be getting the next issue for quite a while.
-
oh…. The Herald.....you and fiasco are the clown of AP forum....
-
Funny this happened. It happened like couple hours after I watched Tokyo magnitude 8.0.
Ironic.
I'm still worried for one of my good friends that is visiting. -
Yay, my sister's fine.
It did scare the hell out of her, which is to be expected.
-
Next we will be seeing Russia turn into a giant monster and mexicos borders STRETCH. these jokes doing anything for you?
and to anyone whose families are over seas in Japan my best wishes
-
oh…. The Herald.....you and fiasco are the clown of AP forum....
I have a headache now after trying to recall one funny thing Fiasco has ever done.
-
My sister's fine as well, she wasn't even in Tokyo when the quake hit. But there's a Taiwanese fellow I work with in lab and I've been hesitant to ask him if anything happened to his family after that typhoon hit.
The hotels collapsing into the ocean were spectacular, but it looked terrifying from the Taiwanese POV.

Yes, what an amazing coincidence to have an earthquake in Japan.
an earthquake in Japan.
Earthquake wasn't centered in Tokyo. It was centered at sea. It hit Shizuoka the worst were it rattled some shit around and destroyed a road or two.
Japanese people in Tokyo were quoted as saying, "An earthquake. I wonder what my wife that I control is going to cook for dinner that I can complain about the taste of."
Foreigners in Tokyo were quoted as saying, "HFUYCFUODWYFCUOWVCOC!!!!!!!!! AN EARTHQUAKE OMIFUCKINGGOD!!!!! I NEED TO CALL MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY!!!!! I'M SO LUCKY TO BE ALIVE THANK YOU JESUS!!!! THANK YOU JESUUUUUUUUS!!!!!!!"
-
I'd like to see a video of the earthquake where Japanese people are just calmly walking down the street while a few foreigners are freaking out .
-
I've always wanted to experience an earthquake. Not like righti n the center of it, but kinda like this one, where i'm far enough to be safe from buildings falling on me, but close enough to really feel it. Maybe get to see a couple of roads destroyed in the distance.
-
Stand in a building by train tracks. That's what the majority of them feel like when a train passes by.
In fact we just had another about 10 minutes ago. That's three in less than a week.

Greg, I'm not so sure the bitchiness has quite worn off yet.
-
How can I draw a comparison? Worrying about the regular earthquakes you hear about over here is like how Japanese people reacted to the single Mad Cow Disease case in the US: "WE WILL INSTANTLY CEASE ALL IMPORTS OF US BEEF FOR YEARS!" Which lead to a campaign at places like McDonald's with ads like, "You can trust our 100% Australian beef."
What's annoying is when news channels in the US, apparently on slow news days, even mention something that's so incredibly common over here. Since not many people in the US are aware of the frequency of earthquakes over here, all it serves to do is sensationalize the event for the sake of catching a few ratings ultimately causing worry and concern for relatives or friends, see page one.

At least he's picking good targets now.

I was in an earthquake once when I was little in India.
One of the people living in my building died
You don't want to be in an earthquake.
-
Appearantly i was in one too, when i was almost 1 year old living in California. in '89. But we lived like 5 miles away from the center of it. But i was to young to remember how it felt. So i wanna be in another one.
