I think if Dofla sees a chance to betray the WG and start the new era, he could take a stab at it. I just hope that he turns into the Crocodile-type mastermind of the New World.
Chapter 553 "Battle of the Highest" Discussion
-
-
I do wonder how Crocodile will come out of all this. Will he move on to the new world, or will he be crushed by Newgate or Akainu or somesuch?
A lot of interesting possibilities.
-
Here's another random thought. Jango and Fullbody have been dragged through the Grand Line all the way up to this point. They must have some future, so what is their fate for this war?
-
To get beaten up.
-
So they're just punching bags for the rest of the story?
-
For the story?
Possibly not.
For this war?
Certainly.
-
Hancock isn't going to leave the Shichibukai.
-Mihawk certainly doesn't have any reason to leave.
-Moria I'm sure is done trying to become Pirate King so he's out.
-Hancock won't leave Amazon Lily to be destroyed.
-Doflamingo seems like he's planning for an eventual betrayal sometime after this war so no chance for it to happen now. That just leaves Kuma.
Hancock will turn, the moment Luffy arrives. The Marines have more important matters to deal with after this war, than destroying Amazon Lilly. The world will be in chaos…

I don't completely disagree with this but let's just say if the Shichi are about to fall, do you honestly think those four are going to stick around with a dying organistation? Each of them is there for a reason and I doubt that reason is to help the WG curbstomp piracy. Jimbei, Blackbeard and Kuma have all pretty much turned, Doflamingo looks like he's about to turn in the near future. Mihawk seems only concerned with enhancing his own strength, if the organisation he's in is weakened, he won't stick around.
Moria has absolutely no loyalty to the WG, he'll turn on it in a heartbeat if the occasion demands it.As for Hancock, I dunno. I kinda want Oda to do something where she and the Kuja's realize they should stop relying on borrowed strength and instead defend themselves with their own power but it's not like I can predict him. Maybe she'll just go back to heartless bitch mode, say fuck the island and run off chasing Luffy…

Wouldn't it be silly for them to go to the New World after they get demolished here?

Oh dear… not this again.
-
I wonder if considering the circumstances if Sengoku will allow Crocodile to try to kill WB considering that he may be willing to accept any extra help, leading to a Crocodile vs Jimbei or Crocodile vs a division captain. I expect Dofla, Moria and Hancock to fight division captains, and I wonder how Kuma and Hancock will be able to act as double agents?
-
Wouldn't it be silly for them to go to the New World after they get demolished here?
Not really. They're still fairly low on the food chain, so they're not supposed to be incredibly strong. New World marine ships need grunts too.

You know, when I first read Croc's "silver medallist" speech, an image of Croc turning a weakened Newgate into a shrivelled up mummy leapt into my head. Almost certainly not going to happen, but…yeah, I'd like to see a big Croc fight again.
-
So then Hina will do something amazing in this war?
-
So then Hina will do something amazing in this war?
Hina actually being in panels? Man, you sure know how to joke
-
So then Hina will do something amazing in this war?
I highly doubt it.
The only marines I see doing "amazing" stuff are:
Sengoku & the three admirals
Tsuru
Garp
Smoker
JohnI would say Master Moustache too, but that's just wishful thinking.
-
You forgot Yamakiji, the dude is a beast. Seriously though, Jango and Fullbody are grunts for Hina.
-
Heh. You only like him because he has a cigar.
-
That's not true! The man has the smile of a true champion, much like my avatar.
Damn, now I wish I would have picked the name Yamakiji when I signed up here.
-
Wasn't he also the "evil" VA at Enies Lobby?
–edit
Actually that was Onigumo. Damn chain smokers, can't tell them apart.
-
No, that was Onigumo.
Yamakiji was the one who never said anything, he was far too awesome to have lines in a losing effort.
-

At best I see Jango and Fullbody running away from every enemy they see, maybe their combined power would be enough to fight that monkey on Doma's shoulder?
As for Hina honestly besides her taking down Mr. 2 I feel that Robin or Califa could take her in a fight. -

Actually, looks like his name is Yamakaji. So best that you didn't. ^^
-
Well whatever, I would have looked up the proper spelling before I made the account. He's so awesome he doesn't need his name to be spelled correctly anyway. Like Flanky.

What are you talking about.
Flanky is the collect spelling.

Obviously someone failed to read my edit comment.
-
-
Liar! I like how deep and logical our conversations are.
-
Moria is going back to his homeland after the war, to tell his parents how he failed and that he's sorry that he ran away from home to become the Pirate King when he was a child.
-
Perona is going to pop up and kill every marine.
-
It is indeed a wonderful thing. Praise be to
EnelKami.Fixed.
Anyway…about that chapter 553...
YamakijiYamakaji's a beast in that chapter. -

But I DO expect some more battling for sure!

As soon as Crocodile stated that he wants to tag along for the sake of a chance to take down Newgate it set him up for a beatdown and he will probably end up back in Impel Down by the end of this.
I don't completely disagree with this but let's just say if the Shichi are about to fall, do you honestly think those four are going to stick around with a dying organistation? As cold as Hancock is towards the women of Amazon Lily, we've been shown that she genuinely cares about them.
So then Hina will do something amazing in this war?
That would be the best thing ever ever.
Hina's awesome.
-
The Shichibukai arne't going to fall in this war
because with 2/3 members gone already, they're doing just peachy
-
That they are .
-
That's that then
-
They'll never really fall since there's so many replacements for them.
Saying any group won't fall is stupid tho. I've already pictured how Oda could make it work if he made the shichi, marines, or WB pirates fall in this war. Any choice would be a drastic change in the manga but he could still make it work.
-
@Zik:
Saying any group won't fall is stupid tho.
The Marines aren't going to fall in this war.
The World Government isn't going to fall in this war which means by extension the Shichibukai aren't going to fall in this war.
-
But some Shichi might leave and the WG may be weakened. This could open up the world to piracy and make the race for One Piece even tougher. No pirate would join the Shichi because it's a man's dream to have adventure/because thye're weak and they're would be no profit in it/because the WG would try to clean things up at home before recruiting more pirates.
But everything I've just written is pure baseless conjecture and only occurs in the dark, fanboyish side of my brain. In the end we can't predict what Oda will do and it's pointless trying.
-

The WG isn't fighting this war. It'd be very different if they were(Every kingdom's army lending a hand in this).
All you did was repeat what you said earlier and I can give my same reply lol.
The current shichibukai can all die here. The WG will just set up a new group. Hence, they have so many replacements. I don't know why you think the shichi falling means the WG would have to fall
Other than you believing the story will go this way is there anything you can bring up pointing to why the marines can't fall in this war?
-
Coby, Smoker and Garp among many others.
Not that hard to see why.
-

I guess the definition of "fall" in this war differs between me and you.
IMO half of those fodder marines, a couple vice admirals, 2 of the 3 admirals all dead and/or a dead Sengoku = a fall. The marines are the active force policing piracy in the world. Part of the world powers.
It's no different than if the majority of WB's crew died except for him. That's still a fall in this war.
Just because the likes of Smoker and Coby remain alive doesn't mean the marines can not fall.
-
Change your definition.
