Tamura is taking this 4th wall breaking a little too far:ninja:
Beelzebub

bumping up the thread because
side story 4 is out!
p/s tamura-sensei did not forget about athrun! XD
Well that explains everything
!
-
"In fact, only the hardcore readers remember who he is." XD
-
It's kinda cool how Tamura basically admits he had big plans but it all went down the drain. Cool in a sense that he at least pokes fun at himself.
A second Demon World arc as the closing arc, with Athrun and his bosses as the last enemies instead of that whole Solomon Company crap would've been much better.

Here is the preview scene for Tiger-ani to Dragon (Tamura's upcoming one shot):

Not the funniest one out there but it was pretty damn nice to read.

The oneshot raw of Tiger-nii and Dragon is out: http://imgur.com/a/kxEGf#0
Pretty fun, like the transformation stuff. And now we have a female lead in a battle shounen manga (sort of that is XDDD). You can see lots of similarities with Beelzebub though the differences are big as well. The biggest one:
THE BABY GREW UP, I AM NOT KIDDING GUYS! I REPEAT: THE BABY GREW UP!!!
Among some other things that grew on our main cast members that is. :P
Hope this gets enough support to become a series, would be fun to read it. And it kind of looks like Tamura is trying more of a journey thingie than with Beelzebub. Hope this time he has his plot better prepared than last time.^^ -
If the author can mantain the balance between comedy and seriousness, then it will always have the doors open.
The main problem with Beelzebub is that the author wanted to make a gag-battle manga like Gintama but it ended just being a Gag Manga dressed as a Serious Battle manga.
It even dropped plot points like "Who the hell was that kid who standed at the destroyed Ishiyama?" or "What is the relationship between Behemot and those 3 old-timers?"
Beelzebub was the prime example of "You should not try to do, what you can't". -
I am so confused by that one-shot. Did that guy become a girl? Did that guy become a dragon? what even happened???
-
They fell into cursed ponds while trying to revive their mom?
-
Seeing the new side story brought back a lot of good memories. As we all know, the series went downhill with its change of pace and humour. But this redeemed it for me. Or at least helped me forget the tragic note it left on.
Hopefully Tamura has learnt from this, and if lucky not derail his future work like the last.
Speaking of which, what is he working on at the moment?

The translation is out, so you can read it up for yourself how that happened. :D
Looks like the technique those two brothers (wonder if they really are brothers or just act as family given that their little sister apprently isn't blood related to them) learned from the old geezer changed their bodies. They got a lot of great power but their bodies changed accordingly to that tremendous gain. So Tiger = Oga became chinese Hilda (and even got a breast expansion with the possibility to get a "nicer" body in future chapters as well xD) and Bado = Pervy Furuichi became badass Dragon with tail. And Rin stays cute, adorable and loving her big brothers/big bro and big sis a lot. <3
Genderbender Oga, or Hilda with Oga personality, oh boy, kinda wished we had Oga and Hilda exchange bodies in Beelzebub now. XDDD

Where is the translation?

Now here's the real question: Will Beel speak at the last chapter or not? o.o

@James:

Didn't he already speak?
-
@Kaizou:
Didn't he already speak?
He sorta did in ch.231
He said dada
And in ch.240
He said ai,furuchin
-
The real question is who will Oga end up with #TeamHilda or #TeamKuinda
yeah, right :P

Yeah. Is that doesn't count because he didn't say it straight?

The spin-off is ending already? It feels like it's barely gotten started.

It really isn't a spin-off. It is a side-stories.

Six and last chapter of the side-story:

LOL at suicide bomber Jibanyan
Dammit Beelzebub I'm gonna miss you so much
-
Goodbye beelzebub, for reals this time. You never failed to be amusing.
-
It was bittersweet to have the last chapter focus only on Oga's family. Altough I feel really sorry for the real Beel, will he be lost in there forever?
-

I think they did get the real Beel out of the place.
-
On the very last panel is written:
"The story continues… But just not longer in comic form"
So... is that just some ending like "and they all lived happily ever after" or actually another side story in some different medium? -
reopening old wounds

I miss this series.
-
Well, I do not.:v
-
I have not even finished, but the part were he tells him to not be a teacher because we already have a "great teacher" made my day. GTO is one of my favorite comedies, too bad that the previous stuff hasn't been completely translated last I checked.
"Can we go for 40 years too?!"
"We already ended…" -
Man, 40 years of Beelzebub, just imagine how much Beel would have grown in that time. xD
-
Surprised Hilda didn't show up. I really do miss Beelzebub.
-
Just finished rereading this series, I absolutely loved this series for a while
the entire first arc was great, a lot of comedy mixed with cool characters and okay fight scenes
I was happy with the second arc too, when they go to the preppy school fight the six horsemen and have a volleyball match
then the pillar squad came in and it became a little more shonen and a little less comedy
and it kind of started deteriorating from there in my opinion, I mean I always liked it but the quality slipped a little, became to much action, less comedy
also certain things bug me, like they never explained how Toujou learned to fight demons with out a demon contract? why didn't they give Oga a few more spells? and why did all the three powerful grown ups (the principle, aoi's grandfather and Zenjuro) just disappear in the final battle? what happened to the six horsemen? who was Zenjuro's contract with? and why the hell is the solomon company, a gigantic corporation, getting involved in a struggle between high schoolers? whatever happened with sub ploy about aoi's mother and father? What was Bhemoth saying about Fuuruchi, some sort of hidden power? why don't we get a one shot of Oga in a tag team battle with Beel all grown up (okay that's just something I really wanted )

The anime killed the series. It was one of those cases where the anime brought interest into the manga but then began to drop the ball so hard it put many people off the series and ended up turning them away from the manga. It's a shame because the manga was really good.

Same thing with Toriko to I think?

Same thing with Toriko to I think?
Yep exact same thing. At least Toriko got to end somewhat competently though.
-
Yah, no matter how badly toriko went off rails, he completed his full course, beat the planed final boss (even if I forgot already how) and had the emotional party chapter climax and the balls to the wall insane over the top final chapter.
I'd rank Toriko's ending above Naruto's and Bleach's because of that.
