The conclusion was just as disappointing as I feared…
I feel like Kingdom has been dropping in quality since the timeskip, it's probably mostly because Hara is speeding through events so quickly. I hope he slows down and get backs up to the standard of arcs like Bayou and Sanyou.
At the end of the day Ryofui is a mere merchant/civil servant and doesn't hold much real power, just what he attained from putting El Seis father on the throne.
Getting as far as he did is a worthy feat in and of itself in Ancient China
Not much real power? He's one of the most powerful persons in China, and he's been built up as Sei's nemesis for so long. I expected more from the final showdown between them.
This was really over way too quickly and easily, why was Ryofui so calm and confident when Shouheikun betrayed him (which he had been anticipating anyway) when it seems he had nothing up his sleeve to counter the betrayal? This was just way too weak for Ryofui's master plan.
I still have some hope this isn't over and Ryofui still has one last card to play, but it doesn't seem likely.
What's he gonna replace his signature beard-stroking gesture with then?
I don't like Farmland Saga because it was way longer than it needed to be, and frankly glad it's past that point.
The current arc following the Farmbore Saga has been way more fun.
It was perhaps a bit long but it had great character development for Thorfinn and still had some good drama despite not having much action.
! That's messed up, did Erina ditch Hisako or will she have two aides?
An orca fishman would be cool.
Edit: But wait that's a whale right? Well whatever.
Hopefully Hisako will have the confidence to return to Erina now.
The spin-off is ending already? It feels like it's barely gotten started. :sad:
Vagabond - Really great series, interesting characters with great development, the art is very good too.
Vinland Saga - WHEEEWW LAWD, this is greatness! The art, the character development, the realistic setting, the godlike fight choreography, tense story, memorable cast, I'm not even completely caught up with it and I already consider it a favorite
It's one of my favourites too, have you reached the Farming Arc yet? And if so what do you think of it? Lots of people find it tedious and some even drop the series because of it but IMO it's a really good arc.
