I've read first pages of this thread and it seemed like the first numbers weren't as good as the new ones. Can someone confirm?

The paper and binding quality of the latest Logs is much better than of the old ones. The pages of the earlier Logs are very sticky. However the content of the 1st - 5th Log is pretty cool due to the huge amount of color pages. Nowadays Oda "only" draws color spreads.
-
Off topic, but I'm just too curious to hesitate.
@shadyagent:Nowadays Oda "only" draws color spreads.
??? Seriously??
-
Are these logs over-sized tankobon (revised content that volumes hold) or are these replicas of the weekly chapters (with no revisions?) Are the color spreads in miniature form like the picture Redon posted? May someone compare the paper quality to that a of tankobon (better or worse?)

598 was the last chapter with additional color pages apart from the spread. And you have to go way back to chapter 144 to see a chapter with a plot color page.

Logs have the same size as Weekly Shonen Jump but it is a revised version. However the cutting of the pages is a tiny bit different compared to the Weekly Shonen Jump issues. Paper quality of the later logs is better than the paper quality in Jump in terms of thickness, printing and colour but not as good as the paper quality of Tankobons

Cant wait until they release the wanpis kanzenban..
-
May someone tell me what chapters/volumes Log 24 covers? Also, may someone take a picture of the page quality just so I see myself before buying? If you do, thank you in advance.

It covers chapters 678-700
I dont know how you can take a picture of the "quality" of a page but here are some images I took

THANKS!!! The 1st image, the page looked realllly white then the proceeding pages made it look yellowish. I'm guessing this is due to lighting? What's the mint natural color of the pages?

No, the first image with the table of content is a color page. The actual pages are white as in the volumes respectively a little bit darker with a shade of grey due to the thinner paper.
@Laffitte:Could you please show some examples?
I took one sample from the 1st Log and the Shonen Jump issue with the first chapter (also put in the manuscript page in order to show the difference of the the cutting in general in the height and width) and one sample from the 21st Log with chapter 598 and the according Shonen Jump issue to prove that this "issue" didn't change over the time.

There is a typo in one of the images: it is not the 2nd but the first chapter. -
Interesting, that's very noticeable. Looks like the issue is due to some misalignment.

No, it is not a misalignment, just a different cutting. The volumes (Tankobons) have a different cutting as well (in the volumes there is a heavier cutting in the width but vertically you see more than in the magazine)
-
do they have the logs in english?
-
Not exactly like that, but I think the One Piece Omnibus by Viz is the spiritually closest one to the Logs.
It allows you to legally catch up with the current story at low cost.
The omnibus doesn't include color spreads like Logs, so it's not really worth it to buy in my opinion. But again, once you found the japanese editions, everything else feels cheap.
If I am starting to follow One Piece, it would be visually satisfying to read the scanlated colored chapters, than reading these Omnibus editions. For collecting purpose I bought the tankos and some Logs whenever I want to go into a specific arc. -
May someone here confirm whether the 20th Log's paper quality holds up to the 21+ Logs? If someone wants to go the extra mile, may you take pictures of the 20th log and one of the newer logs. I'm about to buy my first Log, but IDK if the 20th is worth is just yet.

Good work, redon! It seems Oda will talk about Law in 27th Log. I'm wondering what kind of interesting info Oda reveals..

Good Quality

This latest one is the first log cover I actually, properly like. I still wish they'd do a version without all the extra text and stuff on the front, but at least here the central art of the piece is clean enough to still work.

One Piece The 28th LOG - "Lucy", no new Omake this time

Hey Redon, I've just noticed the wiki and basically everywhere else doesn't have info on what chapters the new logs from last year start and end on. You actually have the set, is there any chance you could tell us?
