I don't think it's pronounced shimon (shee-mon) i believe it's pronouced ( see-moun)
It is pronounced as "shee-mon". There is no "see" sound in Japanese.

I'm going by the fact that this manga uses alot of italian language in it and I believe in italian it would be "see-moun"
Nice cover, looks like longchamps family isnt considered a actual family. This arc looks to be really good.

that name is taboo in these parts

wow i-pin and lambo really fucked tsuna up
Yeah, looks like Lambo and I-Pin's playing caused Tsuna's fate to be sealed. Enma is not going to be amused, and Adelheid will be furious. But, unless Enma's power is super broken (which it seems to be hinted as being), they don't stand much of a chance against all the Allied families and both 9th and 10th generation guardians at once, plus the possibility of Varia showing up.
As for the "Sin", since the Simon family seems to know about it, my guess is that Primo was forced to kill the First Generation Simon boss (making them into a weak family), and that they keep a vial of his blood as proof of the "Sin". That would actually make the most sense.
This arc just keeps getting more and more intense. Also it was obvious as to simon group being the attackers.

ah shit I forgot about berserk how stupid I am that's one of my top 10 no matter what It's fucking awesome, and I started reading it at the point before the prologue (by accident) so I didn't know griff would betray him and so when it happened I was shocked out of my mind, and it just keeps getting better, character personalities are great great plot oh so awesome,
So, Episode 187 is out, and it reveals a secret that may tie in with current events (keep in mind these Anime episodes are considered Canon, at least the events in them):
! Apparently, Primo wasn't forced to move to Japan by the Second Generation boss, but rather by Demon Spade (The Mist Guardian), who slaughtered the entire family except for the Guardians. Giotto and the other guardians chased Spade to his hideout and defeated him, but at great cost.
Next episode should wrap up this arc, probably, then it'll go back to the Ghost/Byakuran's Defeat Arc.
wait the anime is considered cannon?
The Arcobaleno Trials arc and the Inheritance Succession Trials are, at least, according to Akira Amano. They're both arcs she wanted to do in the Manga but had to leave them out due to time constraints.
Time constraints. Ugh.
She could have skipped on the Millefiore failure and made something plot relevant instead.

Why would the Vongola bother to keep proof of that if it was true? And it seems unlikely that Reborn would have been kept in the dark regarding the sin. If he knows (which is likely) and your prediction is correct, it would be rather reckless of him to let the Simon family watch over Tsuna.
Because my assumption is that it is given to each boss so that he knows that the Mafia is an unforgiving world. As for why the Simon are being trusted, it's because perhaps Primo felt horrible, and felt that perhaps the Simon Family would forgive them in time.

But why does it matter that Primo felt horrible? I'm talking about Reborn's decision to surround Tsuna with members of the Simon family, not Primo's. I know Reborn can go to extremes for what he believes is a good cause (in this case, gathering intel on the Simon family), but it's not like he doesn't have other options.
And even if the blood of the Simon family Primo is in that vial, it just sounds too underwhelming. I have to believe the sin of the Vongola is more than just the death of one person. Not that I'm trying to downplay death, but considering that the Vongola have killed many people in their years as a family, you're prediction seems unlikely.
What I do believe you're correct about is that the sin definitely involves death, but more than one person. And if you're right and it is one person, it has to be someone more significant than one of the Simon bosses.
! I mean, in the last arc Uni, a girl even younger than Tsuna, had to die because some ass wanted to turn the world to shit, just for the fun of it. I think that hammers the point home that the Mafia world is unforgiving moreso than the death of some Mafia boss.
I'll eat my words if you're right though since, admittedly, we don't know much about the Simon family and how significant their role in the Mafia world used to be.
well reborn was left in the dark about the whole cradle affair why not this too

Dammmmmmmmmmmmn
The Shimon twist is turning to be quite darker and more enjoyable with every passing chapter.
Few chapters more and I'll probably begin to hope for something good.
Only to see Amano dissapoint me again.
I started to watch the anime…
I am 3 episodes in and I'm not sure if I should continue. It's just so weird, and boring. When does the anime pick up on excitement? I want to give this anime a chance, but I am already so bored of it T.T

Episode 20 and the manga is much better by the way.
episodes 20 D:
Also I prefer watching anime. I read to much as it is, and watching anime is the only real "tv" I see.

But the anime is heavily censored so its not the best anime adaptation out there.
I just started reading this and am up to chapter 180, the daily life arc was pretty bad but after that it's awesome, although Tsuna vs Mukuro is still my favorite fight

The future arc is worse than the daily life arc i can tell you that.

I didn't think it was that bad, the daily life arc was so much worse, in my opinion

Future arc wasn't as bad as daily life imo, but it came pretty close and felt like it dragged on longer (haven't actually compared length in chapters…).
The chapter is out on Onemanga.com. Just glad the arc is starting to get to the fights. A lot better pacing than Future arc for sure.
Oh boy, Yamamoto. Hope he doesn't…
He's my favorite character. But I DO enjoy this foreshadowed turn of events a lot.
I wonder how the anime will handle this portion?
He'll just collapse, minus the blood.
Yeah, this turn of events was interesting, but expected. My guess is that the Simon family will force Tsuna into a situation where he has to accept the inheritance in order to save his guardians, and then it'll become an all out brawl between Vongola, its allies, and the Simon Family. This could get messy.
Gotta say, I did not see that ending coming. Didn't think things would get so serious this soon.

unlike us this new reader can just breeze threw the chapters.

If it turns out like that it will remind me alot of the kage summit arc.
As for the chapter: Damn things are heating up, I've had mixed feelings on the simon family good to see that they are the villians for this arc. What's scary is how powerful these guys are an being shown glimpses of there power makes you wonder if the vongola can take them down or not. My opinion is no and that's where the 9th's guardians will aide them.
unlike us this new reader can just breeze threw the chapters.
Hahaha fucking touche.
If you put it that way yeah i can see people not liking the daily life arc.
But i say this, the pool chapter is the best chapter so far in this manga period.
Haha, as mainly an anime watcher I'm not used to blood. So when Yamamoto took that hit, I was freaking out in my mind. Then I went to the One Manga forum and everyone just shrugs it off. Haha.
Anyway, I'm a little surprised that people here don't like the daily life arc. Again, it may have something to do with the fact I mainly watched the anime up until the Inheritance Arc. I like the way the DL arc was handled in the anime because they were used as nice breather episodes between arcs. And I always enjoy the characters just chilling out and enjoying each other. I'm almost hoping they put some DL-like filler after the Future arc. I'd personally like to see the original dying will Tsuna again since that form became obsolete in the middle of the Varia Arc.
But yeah, since it was almost a year of the manga, I can understand why some people would find it tedious.
People don't like the Daily life arc because it had THAT character.
People don't like the Daily life arc because it had THAT character.
yes him who shall not be named
but I wasn't a fan of it even without him, it just wasn't that funny for a gag manga
"Slice of life" is a TERRIBLE genre to begin with; I live a fairly normal life already, don't need some boring asshole with a goofy name to live a boring life for me in escapism land. This manga also did not lend itself to that genre – this is a good thing, overall, okay? -- making that one little segment awful.
The future arc sucked a whole lot, I think, but the "Slice of Life" arc (heretofore "SOL arc") was considerably worse. The major problem with the future arc was that it didn't fit in with anything else in the series. Felt like it was meant to be a preemtive finale, only with no resolution.
I thought the future arc was good but that's my opinion. The daily life arc didn't suck it just became incredibly boring, that's why I skipped 10 chapters until the begining of the mukuro arc.
People don't like the Daily life arc because it had THAT character.
Who is THAT character?
And also I was not a fan of the Daily Life Arc either, but some parts were needed, in order to introduce characters. I.E. Up until the flashback from the future Arc I completely forgot who the hell Irie Souichi was.
I liked the Future Arc, but it had one major plot fail. Since Tsuna and his family got to keep their box weapons as rings, they are know stronger than everyone since they have a different, stronger method of combat.
I'm not going to argue that Daily Arc wasn't the weakest. I, however, did enjoy them as breather episodes between arcs in the anime. And again, I got into Reborn about two months ago so I was able to speed through all of it. Admittedly, I was tempted to skip the ones after the Varia arc since they were getting tiresome.
My only problem with the future arc was the box weapons since they seemed to require significantly less skill to fight with. It made normally weak enemies somewhat formidable. And the Choice battle seemed kind of pointless.
People make the boxes out to be more than they were, honestly. Yamamoto Still used his sword and his sword abilities, Ryohei still used his strength, as did Hibari (I thought his fight with Hellform Daisy was pretty cool, actually), Tsuna still used his X-Burner (and the I-Burner), Gokudera still used his intelligence; His Box weapon was garbage without his intellect; In another person's hands, Sistema C.A.I. would be useless. And of course, Chrome and Mukuro still used their illusions.
I don't think the boxes cheapened the series as much as everyone says; it just enhanced their current abilities. I can't think of a single person who relied entirely on their boss, except some of the Milliefiore bosses, like that Turban Guy that Adult Ryohei beat the holy living hell out of.
I definitely think it cheapened the enemies more the Tsuna and co. Still, the problem for me was that their new abilities weren't a natural progression of their old abilities. I mean, Yamamoto still used swords, but all of a sudden he can fly and slow things down (I'm a little more forgiving of the latter since that's an attribute of his flame). Or Gokudera. His upgrade from regular bombs to rocket bombs made sense to me, but all of his sudden he's fighting with beams and shields?
Yes, it did take a reasonable amount of skill to use those weapons and no doubt they did provide good, interesting fights, but it still felt off, mostly in the case of Ryohei, Yamamoto and Gokudera. Tsuna, Chrome and Hibari, not too much. Actually, Daemon Spades lenses made sense as weapon to me. Not too overpowered, but something I expected Chrome to be capable of as she got stronger.
I just enjoyed seeing them grow more in the Varia arc than the Future arc.
so i take it, since I couldn't tell what flame that was, that they all have this new flame
so i take it, since I couldn't tell what flame that was, that they all have this new flame
Well it makes sense that they'd need something new and unheard of to combat the Vongola Box ring stuff. Until I see it confirmed via manga/anime, I'll buy the theory that Simon Family uses different flames.

agreed i mean they just battled the world's strongest so they need something to measure up
but i looked at that pic again, and it looks like it may be a combination of flames…. maybe i'm seeing things that aren't there who knows
Spoilers are out
! 9th says, 'Let's quit the succession, then.'
! Phone calls
! Tsuna rushes to hospital.
