I've been wondering about this but how much do the monthly and weekly published comics (Shonen Jump, Monthly etc.) cost?
How much do Japanese Comics cost over in Japan?
-
-
I'd guess around 5 dollars or something.
-
depends.
The Standard Tankobon is about 595 Yen (Approx $5)
But some series are [re]released in Bigger editions, like the Dragon Ball Kanzenban, which naturally cost more. -
Out of the 4 Shonen Jumps I have there are 2 prices:
219yen = $2.20 = £1.36 = 1.71euros
229yen = $2.30 = £1.42 = 1.79eurosI'll take pics later since there are 2 different prices on each one
-
Thanks, but do you happen to know the price for the monthly ones? Not necessarily the Jump Monthly (Young Animal for example, etc.)

The official Young Animal site lists their latest issue[no.21] at:
320yen = $3.24 = £2.03 = 2.54euros -
I was going to say around 3 dollars.

SHonen Jump magazines are made of cheap recycled paper and the ink quality ins't great, as you can tell by looking at the issue scans compared to the tankoubon scans.
A monthly magazines are more because they're longer. Shonen Gangan is like 600 pages, compared to Jump's 200 or so. So probably about three times, like 7$. -
Jump is just 200 pages? I've got one on my shelf (the 10th anniversary of OP one), and it's about 470.
-
So the price of the weekly ones are around $3 dollars, while the monthly ones are around $6 or so dollars.
