Alas I think Naruto and Gaara punctured a hole in the Plot tank when they were fighting at the end of the Exam, and it started to leak.....
Well, after the time-jump they're finally starting to get the Akatsuki story going. However, I think they paced it wrong. I WANNA SEE THE OTHER GENIN!!
The akatsuki story is already looking like another chase story….

What happened? Haku and Zabuza died. Gaara was killing people like there was no tomorrow....and now you feel you have to keep everyone alive.
Chouji and Neji should be gone. Chouji fulfilled his role and realised he had friends. Neji should have died liberating himself. Shikamaru should be emo and should have been caught by Ino trying to kill himself. Lee should have beaten Kimmiaaru on his own and an Akatsuki member should have showed up in that arc and tried to take Naruto. Gaara shows up and Sasuke, Naruto, and Gaara all kill him....than Sasuke turns on Naruto and Gaara again and leaves them on the brink of death to be found by Kakashi.
So, let me get this straight… The Leaf village receives an incredibly urgent message from the Sand: Apparently, the Kazekage, the leader and foundation of power of the entire village of the Sand has been overpowered and taken captive. This is a disaster so huge it could result in a world-wide civil war. Who does the Leaf decide to send as help?

I agree with the pacing and plot really having slowed down to the point of non-existence. However, the way things are now, we're bound to see Naruto kicking some ass soon, and honestly... That's just what I wanna see.

No. That would be DBZ. Naruto is already turning into DBZ with all the power ups. Between Mystic Naruto and SSJ3 Sasuke and then the Jounins still being able to own them and then Akatsuki owning them and then whoever shows up at the end of the series who's stronger than every one whoever existed…..son of a bitch it is going to be DBZ isn't it?

So now, after seeing some FMA again, reading some Naruto & Bleach, I think I ought to see re-watch/re-read a few things….. Somehow. XD Time has no mercy on me it seems.

I rather liked Lee and Kimimaru's fight, and when Garaa stepped in. I'm not sure, but I think they added some things to that in the anime. It was pretty entertaining.

and damn this Naruto marathon i pulled destroyed quite a few of my brain cells , since all i could think all day was - BAKA! :D
The Neji fight and the return of the sand were the only parts in the arc that made me want next weeks chapter.
I had a lot of predictions back then and the majority came through. Lee and Gaara returning, an Akatsuki member showing up (technically lol), and of course when I tried to explain that this part in the manga was really just being made for the anime. When you are switching between fights like this it becomes very boring because the plot moves at a ridiculously slow pace.
I watch the anime and I see the arc how it was meant to be seen. Still not better than the Chuunin Exam or the Zabuza Arc but not as bad as it was in the manga. Dear god no….

Uh, there's roughly about 39 chapters separating the manga from the anime. I'd say the anime team will introduce a fairly lengthy filler straight after this arc & before the Kakashi gaiden.

The anime makers of mangas barely stop and they will make tons of filler if necessary, even if it's more than a year's worth (yugioh anyone?)
so how much filler was in Naruto anime so far? (yeah i'm n00b as far Naruto is concerned :) )
Aside from some random filler episodes placed here and there, there has only been one small filler arc so far
From this point on, I'm guessing they'll put in filler episodes between each arc, just like what's happening with one piece

I do agree about the chase Sasuke arc. The climax was very…um...anti-climactic. I mean, I just knew Naruto and Sasuke were both going to power up and it'd end with a Rasengan/Chidori clash. I did like parts of it, this particular arc was what made me like a lot of characters. I mean back in the Chuunin exam everyone was an enemy but now all the Konoha and Sand ninjas were allies. It was nice to see them all get along._

Have you seen all of the anime, Majek? The filler arc is the one where they go to another village to help them with an annual race. They also managed to make an entire episode of the extra chapter (you'll see which eventually). :lol:
It was pretty boring, but comparatively small. (.. compared to the Apis arc shudder.. that filler just. wouldn't. end!)
Yu-gi-oh? They really had a year of filler? That's terrible! the Naruto anime is getting pretty close to the manga.. I really hope there won't be that much filler episodes. x______x I think the best solution would be either to make an outstanding filler - so good that people won't be able to tell that it wasn't part of the original manga, or pause making the anime…. but that's just wishful thinking. =__=;
My personal thought on an upcoming Naruto filler arc is this: in the manga, we learn that pretty much every genin from Naruto's class has become a chuunin. Perhaps a filler arc showing how would suffice (not as long as the original chuunin exam arc, of course, but it may still be interesting to see how.)
Personally, I've enjoyed the filler Naruto has had thus far. It's at least managed to keep me entertained.
yeah i've seen all the episodes. actually i didn't do anythign else from Saturady to Thursday than watch Naruto :blink: i still have trobule thinking about anythign else :mellow: and now that i thin about it i think i know which was the filler =)

I have a feeling niether will last as long as their mangas.....
Even though I don't even watch the cartoon of Naruto I would guess it's a bit easier to do a One Piece filler than a filler for Naruto. My prediction is the cartoon will take a break and then after a while it will come back running under the name of Naruto X or alike.

That would RULE. I really would like to know how Sakura could take the Chuunin exam when her two team mates weren't around. Unless she teamed up with Ino and Chouji, I guess that could work. Maybe show how some of the characters became Jounin, I'd like to see that.

Well, remember, there's still the Kakashi gaiden to fall back on. If that was stretched out enough, it could take up some time. The Naruto anime is very well known for dragging out parts that in the manga, were only a page or less.
But nothing really happend in the Kakashi Gaiden…

shrug More happened in the Kakashi Gaiden than in the special chapter, but they managed to make an entire episode from that. (I'm sure there are better examples, but I can't think of them right now.)

I also liked Kiba's fight with the freak, even though I was disappointed he didn't beat him on his own..

Yeah Akamaru pissing in his eye was pretty amusing….
I liked how they added more scenes about Kimimaro in the anime. I always wanted to see more about him (instead of his past just being shortly mentioned like in the manga). In my opinion, it was an example of good "filler" scenes.
The Kimimaro flashbacks were INCREDIBLY good, in my eyes. In the manga, he was an interesting character that died before he really should have. In the anime, he has become much, MUCH more interesting.
Of course you have to factor in that any filler is meaningless to the actual storyline in the long run.
What if Kishimoto had meant to make more about Kimmaro later in the manga? You'll end up with a case of Dr.Frappe!

True, but Kimimaro's flashback was really just a more in-depth version of when Kabuto and Orochimaru were talking about Kimimaro's past. It was definitely better than watching Kabuto and Orochimaru talk and it didn't really do anything to the storyline. Nothing like Dr. Frappe, that bastard…

Yeah, I understand what you are saying…but I don't think that Kimimaro would have anything else about him later in the manga.
I mean, the way I see it (and this is just my opinion), I thought Kimimaro was a character that Kishimoto meant to do something else with...but then he decided to just forget about it and end the arc. So, Kimimaro has always seemed to me like a character that had a lot more potential. Like Himizujin_Eternia says, I think that he died before he should have in the manga.
And also, like Heritic says, the Kimimaro flashbacks in the anime were just longer animated versions of what had been briefly mentioned in word balloons and stuff. So the story itself wasn't too messed with...and the scenes fit perfectly.
To me, it seems more like the way it should have happened in the manga in the first place.
