I will never, ever post a theory in the theories that don't deserve their own thread because chances are no one will reply. Maybe he won't be a shichibukai, but I do think he's alive. I also agree that he is probably related to shanks.
Calico Yorki
-
-
He already had a doctor on his ship. he said the disease was incureble.
His disease is tree rush so it is curable.(their doctor sucks)
-
Good going troll, making an assumption sound like fact.
-
Yorki got the disease from a forest.
!
He also have black spots on his face. -
There are many dieases there could be. But its not uncommon to see old ones long thought dead because on how islands get isolated.

He might be dead or he might be alive?
-
yeh i dont believe that he will still live kicking :getlost: since it's been 50 years since the day he is departing from his crew….. and as it said he left with half the crew coz they got infected by the disease.....
50 years would simply mean that he's about the same age as Brook now, which is 88. And clearly there's more than a handful of characters who can, and have, lived into their 80s.
And he may have lived if it were a circumstance such as with Dr. Hiluluk. -
…not to mention that we don't know the nature of Yorki's power. He might have eaten a devil fruit that would have expanded his life (in the same manner as Brooke).
The point is that it is VERY suspicious that the author had the captain "die" in such a manner. See, there is just something not right about quaranteening half of a crew and the captain and sending them into the calm belt (why the calm belt? why not leave them in an island or have them head out somewhere within the grand line) SPECIALLY if we already know that this is most probably a curable disease (despite what the doctor said, there are clues that can be interpreted that Yorki had Nami's disease). These elements can be reasonably suspected to be foreshadowing. Thus, it is not unreasonable to think that Yorki could have gotten treatment and still be alive at 80. Maybe not as strong as a shishibukai, but definitely alive and kicking.
...there is also the possibility that he just died altogether, but see... that is the point. We just don't know. Anyone who says that they are 100% sure that he's either dead or alive is just a pretentous douche because Oda can bring back Yorki or forget him forever if he bloody well feels like it.
...in my opinion, i think it is more likely that he is alive solely based on the fact that the rumba pirates have a grave on Thriller Barque and that it would be a great disgrace for the captain of the rumba pirates to not be buried with his men.
/SHE could be Yorki's grandmother.

Doctor Krokus or whatever the guy caring for Laboon had very reliable information that the Rumbar pirates had already left the Grand Line. Something or someone must have started that rumor. Part of the crew actually leaving the Grand Line is the best way to tie that bag together.
(seems most fans forget that bit and only think it's suspicious Oda is careful not to contradict himself even on small things.)

Hmmm, didnt think of that, but it only further proves my point… Oda would have not given Yorki that somewhat ridiculous exit without it having a point. I really can't tell wether or not Yorki is alive, but I can almost guarantee that Yorki's exit throught the calm belt will be a plot device later on in the series.
-
Yorki Kizeru Calico.
He's the 3rd admiral biatch!!!!
Imagine Brook's expression when they meet up.
Other than that,I can see Calico as someone very important that is stuck somewhere in the Grand Line. His design is too cool to be just unwanted straightaway. -
but it only further proves my point
How so? I don't follow your reasoning here.
@DrFuko:Oda would have not given Yorki that somewhat ridiculous exit without it having a point.
There was a point. To explain where the rumor came from. Imo it was pretty awful and forced way to give closeure, I doubt he really wants to touch that again.
@DrFuko:but I can almost guarantee that Yorki's exit throught the calm belt will be a plot device later on in the series.
He already used it in his story a long time ago. This ties up the bag. There is no need to use it again. It's most likely completly over and done with.

He must be dead. Obviously Lucci is the seventh. e___e
On a more serious note, he has to be dead. He's not Dr. Kureha!

…but may have met her and she nursed him back to health.

those are just wishes… come on, it's Brooke who ate a DF, not Yorki so not likely for him to come back from dead... just think, how the hell could he survive Calm Belt?
he is dead. dead dead dead. -

he is dead. dead dead dead.Maybe he's made himself a nice little home inside the belly of a seaking?

he is dead. dead dead dead.Krieg survived the Calm Belt np.
-
Kreig wasn't sick and bed bound at the time though.
-
The Calm belt does seems to be overrated, first it was shown as this unpenetrateble domain of giant sea monsters, but it seems like some crews were able to clear it alive. But even if he cleared it, the disease proabably killed him. Maybe Oda will put some romance into a flashback and let him die peacefully after he returns to his familly or something like that.
-
I don't think he is alive. I mean, if he was alive, how come he never visited Laboon? Wasn't that one of his regrets (the only?), that he wouldn't be able to see Laboon again?
-
Perhaps shame?
Or he is in a condition that renders him unable to travel anymore (it might kill him).
-
Then why couldn't he send a message? Like maybe he knew a pirate from West Blue who was going to the Grand Line. Then he could tell that pirate to relay a message from him (Yorki) to Crocus and Laboon.
