On topic: Besides the Hidden Mist, do any of the other villages even care about using techniques related to the village name? I didn't see Kakakuzu using Waterfall techiniques or Deidara using Rock Techniques. I think it's more about the villages location rather than technique style (which works for certain villages like Mist).

Eventhough Deidara didn't use Rock Techniques have affinity to the Earth Element (I think).

Well the sand specialized in sand, wins, and puppet techniques.. sort of.

And of course the Mist had Zasuba and Haku who both used water based techniques. But it makes sense now what you said about the fire, as othe ninjas from the leaf villiage (not only the uchiha) know how to use it.

But still.. it's not a bloodline. I wonder why Naruto never attempted to learn it. He's actually pretty limited in what he can use. You'd think someone else besides Orochimaru would be smart enough to attempt at mastering them all.

When you really think about it considering everything that happened it's not like he needs to show the fight especially when we know that neither one of them

You somewhat got a point but I see some of the off screen fights to be the ones that kishimoto should of done more with. Kind of like Dosu vs. Gaara. It was all shown within 2 pages I believe? and all we get for Suigetsu vs. Kisame is suigetsu asking him if wants to kill some time or some crap like that. More than likeally they will still be fighting but we'll get to see a few sword swings and maybe one water jutsu from kisame who retreats with zetsu.

Itachi avoids it.

10 clones appear.

Shisui uses his body flicker but the real Itachi manages to catch him and they both fall into the river strangling each other.
Itachi: Shisui stop it...
Shisui is losing his senses. The water calms.
Sasuke:....
Someone jumps out of water. It's Itachi with Mangekyou sharingan.
Tobi: Good Itachi. After all you were stronger than Shisui. Now I can tell you all about my true plan! For an even greater power!!
Next time: the sorrow of that day.

There is debate on which spoiler is real. The Shisui one seems to be fake and there's another one that talks about a flashback with Madara and Shodai, with Madara seemingly starting to try and convince Sasuke that Konoha is evil and Itachi is a martyr in their plans.

That would be hillarious if Kishi made the story turn out to be..

-The Hokage was EVIL all along (Sartobi)
-Itachi was good, but to FORCED to follow Sartobi's orders and kill his clan
-Oro tried to free the village during the invasion and was the good guy after all

Wow, you know when Hunter x Hunter and One Piece do non-action chapters, it usually turns out so well but in Naruto I can't help but roll my eyes in disgust at the fact that he's constantly wastings pages by filling up panels with eye-shots and repeating dialog over and over again.

"Itachi… Itachi was my brother... he was my kind brother... he was the brother who killed my family... he was my brother, the brother I just killed... blah, blah, blah"

The question that begs to be asked here is, do we really have to suffer another year of this?

As for Naruto's chapter this week…you have to wonder how much of what Madara is saying now is true. Somehow the extermination of the Uchiha sounds a bit like the Mist Village bloodline extinction project that affected Haku and Kimimaro, but I really don't believe that all four of the old farts approved of the Uchiha destruction just because. Sarutobi in particular probably has skeletons in his closet but I don't see him as the kind of Hokage who suddenly would turn on the clan that helped found the village. (nor do I see everyone suddenly saying "all Uchiha are evil and must die")

This is kind of interesting. Konoha is not so goody two shoes as we thought they were compared to other villages. The first hokage is still my favorite, I cant wait to find out more stuff about him.

Meh I wouldn't put it past them. Maybe Sarutobi wasn't but we all know how corrupted the council and Danzou is. Sarutobi probably had no choice but to accept it.

Funny thing is that you see the whole "Itachi is an undercover agent in Akatsuki" bit a lot in fanfiction. Not to mention it was a pretty overused theory way back during even Part 1. If Kishimoto's taking this route I'm really beginning to wonder if he actually does get his ideas from fanfiction. Unless the twist was so obvious even back during part 1 that everyone picked up on it right away like the Yondaime being Naruto's father one.

Remember Kishimoto said in an interview that this year was going to be all about Sasuke, don't know whether or not it was real, I mean they were asking him questions about what color each character represented, but the way it's going pretty much tells us that Naruto isn't going to be the main character for a long, long time.

It's going to be all Uchiha, all the time…. pretty ironic that the smallest clan in existence is getting the most screen time.

Although this absolutely doesn't excuse why he hasn't shown anything about Kisame's fight with the 3 stooges. Although knowing his pattern, we'll probably just see that shark-boy, all messed up, standing over Kisame's dead body. Just like when Kankuro encountered Sasori, everyone got all excited then he dashed their hopes the next chapter.

Until further proven, Sarutobi remains innocent. He seems like the type of Hokage more interested in either uniting the clans or keeping the fragile unity the original Hokages had. Unfortunately, I can see Danzou and the other council members overruling him in a vote on the fate of the Uchiha, leading to them assigning Itachi the plan to exterminate his clan. (well Danzou is obvious but the other two really haven't been explored outside their attempt to make Jiraiya the Hokage…they though could be more along the lines of old-style ninja who keep their friends close and their enemies closer...or just see the Uchiha as scapegoats because of Madara using the Kyuubi on them)

It's already been shown that the council has more power and authority than the Hokage. It's really not hard to imagine Sarutobi being put in a situation by the council where he had to go along with something even if he didn't want to because he knew it wasn't right.
