So about Adult Swim

Is it just me, or has AS lost it's focus recently? They used to be really good about balancing out comedy and action, but recently its been nothing but comedy after lousy live-action comedy. And instead of trying new anime every once in awhile, they seem to be relying solely on Bleach and Death Note. Not only that, but you NEVER see ads for anime anymore. It's always either comedy or that shitty Super-Deluxe.com. Now, after making a big deal about making Saturday "all action," they abruptly change it to something completely incoherent. I mean, new Blood+ at 1:30? Opening with reruns of Harvey Birdman? AS always bitches about anime ratings being lower than comedy, but maybe if they made an effort to make them work it would turn out better. Back when Eureka 7 was first shown, I don't remember ever seeing any ads for it anywhere. Then AS complains that the ratings were low? That seems like bad business sense to me.

But hey, maybe I'm wrong.

Aqua Teen and Sealab were basically the only reasons I watched it.

There's nothing wrong with it. Any show with a girl as the main character is awesome. What I meant is that it shouldn't be on at 1:30am. Thats a slot you fill with reruns.

Well, I'm diggin Death Note, Bleach and Aqua Teen. Venture Bros. ofcourse, so it's alright IMO. Their comedy shows are the ones that really need work.

Aren't VB and ATHF considered comedy though? Honestly, those are some of the only good comedies they got right now IMO. I still find myself watching them on weeknights though.

The only shows I really watch on AS anymore is basically beside Family Guy are Venture Bros, Frisky Dingo, American Dad, Bleach, Blood +, Shin Chan, and Ghost in the Shell: SAC.

This kinda reminds of episode of X-Play when they went to E3 where some of the attendees were watching a wrestling match promoting the first Backyard Wrestling game started chanting "Bullshit" out loud for some reason.

Seriously who the hell came up with that sorry ass scheldue while I do like some of the shows I crossed off that scheldue some of them should be on the Sunday scheldue instead of being used as filler on the Saturday one.

Also that scheldue kind of reminds of how the Saturday scheldue was before when AS first started, back then shows never aired encores after they're original premiere meaning that if you liked the YYH & Gundam 0083 dubs
you were screwed back then.

Now, I had already seen all the anime series they are removing from their scedule now, but at least if I happened to feel like watching something at one of those times, something I'd at least half enjoy was on.

I remember how annoyed I was when I was first watching Fullmetal Alchemist and they kept changing the scedule randomly. This kind of sucks for anybody just getting into some of those shows.

Yeah, they lost the rights to that long ago. It was for Toonami originally, but they put it on AS to fill time. That's back when CN made Gundam their highest priority.

Sure Saturdays were meant for anime, but Jesus Tap Dancing Christ they cannot pull ratings in on their own! Why do you think they brought in Futurama within only a few weeks of its return? It's sort of the same as what happened to 4Kids One Piece. They expected to move a large amount of product with it, not realizing that the show did not make people want to buy things related to it. Consequently, their whole image was tarnished.

The difference being that the formers are actual shows produced by outside development houses, whereas the latters are made cheaply in-house. They have to pay others to show Venture Brothers. In the case of things like Saul, whether their popular or not doesn't really matter because they cost so little to make the can remain indefinitely.
