Just watched the raw of episode 7.The animation of the short fight between Maka and Chrona looks good,especially Chrona's moves.And here's what I thought about the voices of 3 new characters that was introduced in this episode:
-Medusa:It was fine.The voice suits her.
-Chrona:Sounds boy-ish,but still good to hear.
-Ragnarok:The voice isn't bad,but it's not like what I thought it would be.Anyway,his "PIGIEEEE" scream was perfect.It's just like what I expected. -
I'm pretty disappointed with the full version of "Resonance". In the anime it sounds fudging awesome, but gives the impression it was cut out of the middle of a much longer song.
The full version reveals that the TV-version was first and a second verse was tacked on after the TV edition, with some repeating of the same melody from earlier.
I'm very unsatisfied with it.

HAHAHAHAHA! It would be in Nevada, that wasteland of a state.
And I think Chrona is purposefully made to look androgynous. And for that purpose Maaya Sakamoto is actually doing a really good job voicing her.
My only qualm is that her Chrona voice sounds like a psycho Haruhi voice, so when you add that to the Tamaki-voiced Death the Kid it's like Ouran gone goth.

Ragnarok's seiyuu is so unfitting. He sounds like an old businessman who talks too close to the microphone, a bad pairing, definitely.
And with Chrona, I'm assuming this is like in the manga where Chrona's a guy in the beginning and a girl further on and the subbers won't have Chrona as a guy forever. I get that Japanese gender pronouns work differently than romance languages, but Ragnaroc comments on her "panties" and Medusa, well,
! says she's her daughter, and I'm pretty sure "daughter" and "son" do come out differently in Japanese
But Death Scythe and Stein's seiyuus seem more fitting each episode

The Japanese word for daughter is "musume." The Japanese word for son is "musuko."
However, I don't know what Medusa said in original Japanese, but if she said "kodomo" or just "ko" instead of one of the two words above, then we still don't know. Because "kodomo" and "ko" just means "child", no gender.

Err well, it's not totally hard to pick apart what everyone's saying. If one has seen enough shounen and heard enough Japanese dialogue, the subs aren't exactly needed for a show like this.
Of course there were some things I couldn't get without help, but for an action-oriented episode like this it wasn't impossible to follow.

the actual single/CD isn't supposed to come out until June, so maybe we're getting the really crappy version. I'm hoping a better-sounding rip comes out after the CD release. Cause it sounds weird to me too.

lol i figure i should be able to pick up on some of the words that they say during the course of a show but for some reason they only ones i get are the more commonly used words like and the greetings and such and when they say other ppls names. I tried to watch the raw ep 7 and the only thing i understand was black star throught out the whole episode.

I've decided I don't like Death Scythe x Maka moments, particularly because I don't like Death Scythe or his lecherous ways. Even if he were to die in a very glorious way I still wouldn't be able to bring myself to like him.

I like Death Scythe when he's off on his screaming rants (because ranting fathers are always amusing to me), but I'm looking forward to seeing what he can do when the chips are down. He and Stein had a pretty sweet fight.

AEN translations could be a bit betterā¦ I don't think they subbed the opening and ending either. And I don't know maybe it was just me but their episodes were all out of sync with the sound. Pretty sure that was just my computer.

I caught up with the manga again (I thought the last one was chapter 48, but theyĀ“re already in the chapter 50). What I found really weird is that Soul Eater got color pages AND the magazine cover in the last 3 issues (chapters 48, 49 and 50) and color page in 47 too
