Though I didn't get the one three issues ago because it was a white tote-bag with pinkish lettering. Though the pencil case from 2 issues ago was cool and so was the pencil board from 4 issues ago. I had weird dreams about Soul Eater while sick, even a conversation with Professor Stein. Is Shibusen made out of the skeleton/bones of the previous Kishin? (that's what Stein told me in my dream…).
I watched episode 11 yesterday, it was quite good and the better episode of the past stretch. I've been wondering who that well-dressed, devil-like Soul was and that red devil creature as well so some light was shed on that, and more Medusa/Ragnarok/Chrona is excellent as well, they're a much more interesting pair than Black Star and Tsubaki post-development.

So, saw a commercial and like the first 2 minutes of episode 13 live in Japan via a stream. I like the visual style of it, what's the series like?
Someone told me at the beginning of this topic that Soul Eater was "generic" and I feel that's the perfect word for the series. It's not necessarily a bad thing but you shouldn't go in expecting something bold and innovative.
There are several slow episodes so I'd advise not watching it week by week like the rest of us, waiting for a large chunk and then marathoning that would probably be the best game plan.

Soul Eater isn't breaking any new ground, that's true, but I think the execution in this series is fabulous. Stylistically it's like a weird cross between Dr. Seuss and Tim Burton, the animation is generally crisp and good-looking, the characters are (nearly all) likable and entertaining, the action is satisfying, and the humor is usually spot-on for me.
So yes, check out this series, Buuhan. If for nothing else, check it out for Shinigami-sama and his Shinigami-Chop.

Nobody said the episodes were bad, just slow. Especially compared to something like Code Geass. SE is going to be a fifty-two episode anime, so I guess it's a given the first few episodes might be slow.

Check it out. I like it, and I'm pretty picky when it comes to shonen. It's nothing revolutionary, but it's got a good style, good characters, and a funky/creepy vibe.
This show is murder to watch week by week; even Geass seems less strenuous in comparison simply because the pacing is quick. A lot is cut out yes but I mean, Soul Eater has eighteen episodes out and it feels like the plot is only just going somewhere.
^ Didn't they pretty much mentioned the main thing in the whole anime/manga (that is, of course, that Demon/Death God thing)

You're still on R1, right? That's the reason, everything past Stage 12 in R1 sucked arse, up until the Black Rebellion and Stage 22. Sort of sucks that you're dropping right before the climax but I can't blame you.
Soul Eater is indeed more interesting than Geass at this point, but if this is the main plot…I don't really know what to think. It still feels like practically nothing has happened and there's no tension.
It's all been build-up for the main plot, calm down. Just because your ADD can't handle a non-tradition plot line doesn't make it "dull" or "slow".

My favorite characters are Team Kid and Team Black*Star. Oh yeah, and Stein and Sid.

I'm not sure which of the main gang I like the most. At first I was really big on Black*Star but his speeches do come off as annoying, he needs some temperance. Kid is FABULOUS but he also feels pretty cardboard - like the whole symmetry OCD trait is just a gimmick. Soul and Maka feel more natural but there's nothing really exceptional about them, and I think how Maka deals with her weaknesses is irritating.
I have to sort of second Zkaiser by saying I also like Free (though I don't like his snout in Werewolf form, looks weird) but will go further and say I like all the villains in general. Except maybe Ragnarok, he's an arse. Heck, Ashura hasn't even made a physical appearance yet and I already like him.

But Ragnarok is hilarious! He's always beating up on Crona. It's just funny to me, the stuff he says and the way acts. Plus he looks BADASS.
