This is silly. You can't exactly blame Ace for doing something Oda WROTE for him to do. Oda wrote he should go after BB, Oda wrote for him to be beaten.; Oda wrote that be that stubborn bastard, just like his father, Roger was when someone insulted those he cared for.
A 17 year old Rookie, he was already fighting on equal terms with Jinbei, a Shichbukai….and was offered the postion too. I fail to see what part of him was ever fodder to begin with.
Hell, we can say Blackbeard was fodder because Whitebeard owned him like a bitch, even when he was on the verge of death. Almost dead WB > Full strength Blackbeard
Oda is building up Blackbeard with moments that are heartshattering and traumatizing for the young mind of Luffy. Blackbeard might even kill Akai.. not even he might kill Garp making 3 ppl luffy loved dead and 2 by blackbeard. And i heard that kidd likes to crucify ppl so i think he might do that to a SH's friend or Zoro >.> it'd look nice for wall paper with zoro but he wouldnt be dead just severly fked up or revived by magic boa kiss hax story line. And then it'll give luffy a reason to beat the hairgel out of Kidd
