"That's enough Garret!"…
It's "That's enough villain!"

It's "That's enough villain!"
There were three commercial breaks, as usual. It's just that they were all used before the actual mid-point of the episode.

Thanks.

and Thanks =D

Yeah. By 10:12, we were at our third damn commercial break.
I don't think the Shandians worshiping the snake will be cut (or edited). Enel was changed to king because he was saying he was the God. As long as it's a god instead of the God I'm pretty sure it'll be kept. Remember the god cards from Yugioh?
I'd be content with just one long-ass commercial break instead of 3 short ones. That way the eyecatchers can be employed.
I'll keep dreaming.
They can keep the eye-catches if they just kept the commercial breaks in their intended place at the middle mark. Cutting the episode mid-scene, sometimes in the middle of dialogue, is just annoying.
Anyway, about what I said before about reporting torrents. I want people to buy the uncut DVDs. I don't care if anyone uploads the dubbed TV version… but if I see uncut episodes anywhere, I'm going to report it. That is full episodes. Not just a clip here and there. I'm talking about things like torrents of the full DVDs.
And again, why do you intend to report just the uncut version? While it's more than likely only going to be on DVD (unless for some reason it ends up on Adult Swim which I honestly don't see that happening), it's retarded to report just that instead of torrents that have already aired. And what about fansubs too? Shouldn't you tattle on them as well?
I don't really plan on buying the DVDs. Does that mean I'm going to download the episodes instead? No. Does that make me "less" of a One Piece fan? Pretty sure that's a no too.
If anyone should be whacked, it should be the crybabies who moan about the dub and just proceed to rip the DVDs. Similar to those who download games and bitch about them as if they had the world's greatest injustices happen to them when neither of them had actually paid for them.
@Solar:

Fansubs are a free service made by non-profit organizations.
TV Dubs are already paid for by the viewer when they pay their cable. There's no more harm in downloading them as there is saving a Tivo or recording them on VHS.
Un-Cut DVD rips however, can only be attained through purchase of the DVD. You want to watch it, you pay for it.
So…how about them Cease and Desist letters?

Except some people get the idea "Why watch it on TV when I can just download it whenever I want?"
Thus hurting ratings. Lack of ratings = lack of support from sponsers.
@Solar:

and I am by no means saying you are less of a One Piece fan if you don't want the uncut DVDs. But just remember you get what you pay for. If you aren't going to buy the uncuts, don't complain about TV edits. I'm not saying YOU did, but other people have….
Except some people get the idea "Why watch it on TV when I can just download it whenever I want?"

That only hurts ratings if you either have a Nielson Box or are taking their little survey.
If you have a box, then you just need to leave Cartoon Network on. If you're doing the survey, you just need to write it in, whether you watch it or not. And if you don't have either, then it doesn't matter either way.
That was pretty much a disclaimer. What I was getting at was:
@Solar:
And again, why do you intend to report just the uncut version?
Because I want people to buy the uncut DVDs to support uncut OP and Funimation. If they aren't supported they aren't going to release more.
Because I want people to buy the uncut DVDs to support uncut OP and Funimation.
Say no more.
I'm planning on buying them online if I can't find them in a store around here.
To quote Abe Lincoln: Be excellent to each other.
I think that's a good motto to live by.
In the past, it's always been a really weird (and sucky) feeling when I see/hear about people illegally dloading DVDs and stuff I worked really hard on. Even though I know it's inevitable and even though I don't get a cent of the profits or any royalties or anything at all, it's just somehow not a good feeling, you know? I dunno, maybe it's something you gotta experience from the other side. Stealing people's stuff isn't cool
Should probably add in the disclaimer that the above is only my personal opinion and I don't speak for anyone but myself
The whole reporting thing just seems like an all-or-nothing deal instead of "well just this one is bad but the others are fine". But this is just coming from some random guy off the internet. =x
Well as I said since the broadcast version is not going to be on DVD, I could care less. Funimation is working very hard to bring us 100% uncut DVDs with Japanese subtitles. They've even gone above and beyond by getting the original names on the DVDs. It's a lot of hard work to go though just for the fans . That is why I am returning the favor by buying the DVD and I want others to do the same
@Solar:

That philosophy is only for people too lazy to examine things on a case by case basis.
Now you know who works hard? Toei, for actually making the series in the first place (er, based off the manga, you get the drift). Let's report people who rip from the DVDs of the original version to help support them. :silly:
EDIT:
I'm sorry, what? That kinda flew over my head there. =x

Quite obviously.
Obvious to others, but not me. I bet it has to do with my avatar.
From Caitlin Glass:
The listing of Randy Tallman is incorrect. He was originally cast as Gan Fall, but then had to decline the role due to illness. John Swasey replaced him. And, I'm so sad to inform everyone this way, but Randy passed away recently, just in the last couple of weeks. His memorial is tomorrow and all of us at FUNimation miss him already- terribly.
From Caitlin Glass:
Well that's too bad. RIP Former Actor to play Former God Gan Fall. I can't say I'm really familiar with his work, but RIP all the same.
oh man that's horrible… I'm not sure on what roles he did in the past but.. that's really really a shame ;_;
He's done some stuff for ADV, and he was also the villain character for Tsubasa.
That seriously sucks, but I can't say I know if it will make a difference to me, having never even heard of the guy. RIP, regardless.
PS, I'm a tad turned off by the 'King' bit as well, but mainly because the final moments of Skypieans and Conis' in the finale were spent literally praying to God. Just the irony was amazing and beautiful and ignorant and bitter all the same. While I'm assured Enel's ignorance can be properly expressed with 'King' just as much as 'God', I wonder if the feebleness and one-sided admiration of the Skypieans will be the same.
"God" just has a certain ring to it.

Sixteen Sad Faces
Got to love how that stopped all the bitching.
Very sad news all the same.
R.I.P.
My fav quotes!
Sanji:"Did I hear you call me a moron?"
Zoro:"I don't know did you?"
Group: "Wow that's really…Something"
I'm loving how well the lines are delivered! Especially Zoro and Nami.

It'll kinda look weird since the people of Skypiea will now lose faith
in a ruler as opposed to a god, losing faith in a god is more serious
than losing faith in a ruler.
FanGIRL, fan GIRL!…
It's not my fault I knew Rin was girl a eventhough I didn't properly acknowledge it but I just assumed you were a guy once again the lack of gender indicators causes some slight awkwardness.
As for what brought that statement on…. you've obviously downloaded the Japanese episodes, or maybe you surprised me and have the Japanese DVDs. If you downloaded the Japanese ones I guess I kind of assumed you'd download the uncuts if you wanted to see them. As Charagon said they're giving us Japanese tracks with English Subtitles, plus we're getting all original names and God and what not on the English tracks.
I have Dled & watched the japanese episodes but I haven't watched the anime since I came back from my little sabbatical and even now I can't even afford the time to watch it.And like I said earlier if I didn't already have
full knowledge of the anime and had a bank account and liked Funi I wouldn't have no trouble tossing them a few bills though I think I did when I bought
Budokai 3 & Tenkaichi 2 (eventhough I got jyped with the latter.)
And as for Aokiji Yawn I'm not gonna waste my time looking for some
way to show you up using edited still images or videos I think I'll be just
content with acknowledging you as a person with great irrelavance
Yawn

Oda's English is good. If he had intended it to be so, he would have said "2nd Gear" and "3rd Gear."
Oda-sensei speaks about as much english as I do Japanese. Which is a very limited amount. Spelling a couple words correct, pulling off a pun or two, and using a few terms is pretty damn common in anime and manga. Hell, using english is pretty damn common in Japan, but he does NOT have a strong understanding or fluency in the language. Stop being fanboys and accept that he doesnt speak english. He isn't really bad with spelling but his terms and some phrasing is distinctly engrishy on occasion. I mean just look at the color spreads with english phrases on them if you want to see that,.
Yeah, the meaning is usually correct but it's written in an unnatural sounding way. I hate when people say it's bashing Oda-sensei to say he can't spell in english! It's a langauge he doesn't even speak! It's not an insult to say someone doesn't speak english. It isn't the only langauge in the world! Not speaking fluent english doesnt make someone dumb. I dont why people get all riled up when you mention Oda-sensei is writing in langauges he doesnt fully understand. It's amazing he does as well as he does, but still he doesnt have as knowledgable an understanding as a native speaker would. If he could speak english, he very well may have chosen the word "Boost" instead of "Point". But regardless of that, I agree that as little should be changed from the original as possible. Even if there's bad english in an attack name like Gear Second, it should be left in.
I don't really plan on buying the DVDs. Does that mean I'm going to download the episodes instead? No. Does that make me "less" of a One Piece fan? Pretty sure that's a no too.
I hope you're buying the manga then! Or atleast merchandise @ animecons!

and they will lose faith in God… on the uncut DVDs. On the TV version they would NOT have been able to use God, I don't know why you have such a hard time understanding that.
The thing I don't understand and my whole for me even calling Funi out for this little error, is beacuse I just can't seem to understand why the edited dubs of an anime series has to be devoid of any religious references or anything that can be considered a religious refrence (this coming from an atheist FYI)
And why do people keep spelling "lose" "loose".

Hey it's not my fault that Firefox's spell check doesn't check for grammar errors.
You're an atheist, that's the thing. You don't care. I don't care. But the Christians out there care, and they WILL complain and be offended. I USED to be Christian and it would have bothered me greatly that any time someone referred to Enel in the subs as "he", KF capitalized the "he". This is because because Enel is NOT god, and you do NOT capitalize he unless you are referring to the god.. And there is only one true god and all that jazz.
Knowing this, I know that there would be upset Christians out there who would not like Luffy fighting "god" and would not like how selfish "god" is and how "god" is a bad guy whether or not he is the true god or not.
that is why. Enel isn't just any god, he is THE god in the anime. thats why they can't use it.

it makes you harken back to Bush's "Is are Childrens learning" gaffe from a few years back.

In the words of Chazz Palminteri from Running Scared
Fuck em
And I mean the ones who don't seem to know the meaning of the word bigot, hypocrite, fact, fiction, logic, fearmonger etc</a>
Ok, I'm really getting tired of everyone saying "well, the DVDs will have them." First off, they don't even know when they are going to release those. Second, and this is crucial, we are talking about the here and now. In addition, apparently the term "Lord" is now forbidden, which makes very little sense.
We've already explained why the Edited Dub won't have Religious References: Because a very specific small group of Christians whine and bitch about anything that challenges their religion, and they have enough influence to make it matter on a national scale.
I'm not sure how much this will help… but.
The kanji that makes up Chopper's "points" (強化) means to "strengthen", or to "enhance". The furigana above it is ポイント (po-i-n-to), so it was intended that they'd be called "Point" instead of "Kyouka", in which IMO could be translated as "Boost" in the end.
I think I said that in one of the FUNimation dub threads as well, but I don't remember which one.
That's also the same reasoning that could be behind the "Endless Varse" thing.

This doesn't really add much to the conversation, but in my experience with all kinds of shows written by all kinds of people, Oda's English really does seem markedly better than the average manga/anime/game writer, and far better than just the average Japanese person's. Yeah, there's weird English on a regular basis, but I've still always been impressed with his language skills.
(btw, while we're on the subject of Japanese and English, here's some funny unrelated stuff I subbed earlier this year

Don't bother with Ao Kiji, he thinks Loguetown is Roguetown.
To the people reporting the torrents of uncut Funimation DVD: It's going to be funny that these same people are going to get reported for downloading the fansubs. If you guys don't think that Funimation is going to go after the Fansubbers(KF, VP, Instantz, and Anime Soft Subs), you're in for a big surprise.
It's ok to like the Funimation dubs, but please stop playing holier than thou because we are all guilty of downloading Fansubs of licensed Anime(One Piece) which is actually illegal to begin with.
Everyone's guilty of everything, and we're all going to hell.
I'm kinda surprised their announcing all the voices so soon. I'm equally surprised that Scott McNeil wasn't anywhere in there. I thought for sure he'd want a piece of this.

Clarification: Anything not licensed for sale here in the United States is free to download. This is the same clarification used by the folks at TPB, as their servers exist in Sweeden and U.S. Copyright Laws do not affect them there. Alongside that, the time where people downloaded One Piece while 4kids had the licensing rights was justified because we were watching an entirely different product.
Only now is it illegal to download the episodes that Funimation is producing and selling, which will eventually be all of them. Same goes for any other anime licensed by a dubbing company in the U.S. that intends on distributing and selling the licensed anime in question.
Read a little bit into the Wikipedia entry on the ethical issues with fansubbing:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fansub#Legal_and_ethical_issues
Fansubbers are largely responsible for some properties getting dubbed in the first place. It hasn't ALWAYS been illegal. The more you know
There is no such thing as a worldwide-accepted Copyright Law. This is why stuff like that live-action Sailor Moon is free to download in the U.S., because we sure as hell won't see it on DVD here. Different nations, different copyright laws.

I'll give you an expample:
http://kurohana.org/?p=55
This was all before the first episode of Death Note in the U.S. even aired. The moment Viz licensed Death Note, it became illegal to Fansub it. I'm sure this is the case for One Piece as well.
Here is Funimation's stance on the issue:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/conv…aku-generation
Of the speakers on the panel, Funimation's Fukunaga was the one whose company is most affected by online distribution of fansubs. He argues that simultaneous Japan and US launches of new series would be the most ideal way to deal with this issue. However, the only way Japanese companies can be forced into accepting this strategy would be via co-production. Aggressively pursuing action against digital fansub distribution groups is the other viable solution to this issue.

#14: Will FUNimation or Toei or Cartoon Network be gunning down K-F/ADC/Vegapunk/etc. Fansub sites to take down their content?
Answer: Not known at this time. Now is probably a good time to back up your collections of the episodes if you're concerned.
Now I could care less if anyone downloads licensed anime, but people here claiming "I'll report any torrent of the uncut DVDs" are just trying to be holier than thou. Funimation at any moment may decide to send one of these lovely(sarcasm) C&D letters to all the Fansubbers of One Piece just like Viz did for Death Note. The episode doesn't actually have to air first before the episode becomes illegal to download like you are thinking.
Note: Whenever Funimation does decide to take action against the Fansubbers, I won't be gloating about it. I will be sad and upset just like I was when Kura-Hana and AnimeOne got the C&D letter from Viz. Now don't get me wrong, I believe Funimation is doing a great job with the dub, but some people here need to clean their brown nose and realise that snitching on their peers is only going to make it worse on themselves in the long run.
To the person reporting the torrents of uncut Funimation DVD:
fixed
yeah it's just me, and I don't care about the reasoning you give me behind anything. I want people to buy the uncut DVDs to support the release… of more uncut DVDs. Period, that's all there is to it.
I want people to buy the uncut DVDs to support the release… of more uncut DVDs. Period, that's all there is to it.
It's too bad they come out so slow/aren't available. That's why we have fansubbers in the first place =/
The actual "professional" companies never sell them to us/are too freaking slow/give us crap quality of 1 or 2 episodes per disk that cost $69.99+tax
