Dungeon-creating puzzle/strategy game. Like the classic PC Dungeon Keeper series, you are the evil dudes who just want to make a nice lair that those damn obnoxious heroes keep invading. Unlike those games, however, this one has a very retro 8-bit look and philosophy, and extremely simple gameplay. All you do is press the square button to dig out blocks, and when the hero comes in, you have to place your "Maou" boss where he'll be safest from the hero. The strategy part comes from the rather tricky dungeon ecosystem. You can't just summon or place monsters where you like. By breaking mossy blocks, you'll create slimes which act as the sustenance for other monsters. The slimes enrich other mossy blocks until they can be broken and turned into higher level monsters that feed on the slimes. When those monsters eat enough slimes, they'll evolve and get stronger, but the trick is maintaining a healthy ecosystem with enough slimes to keep reproducing and feeding the monsters… easier said than done when all you can do is break out blocks. And then the hero comes into your dungeon and starts killing all your monsters!
This game comes out on December 6th in Japan. You can download a playable demo for your PSP here.
