Something I got to thinking about, were we supposed to know that Aisa from Skypeia was a girl?
There are comments made at the end of the arc (when she's getting a haircut) where the woman she likes (Raki) suggests that she doesn't have to be a warrior and she can now grow her hair out and look moer feminine. Combine this with how Aisa appears/is dressed most of the time and I wonder if we weren't supposed to think she was a boy until that point. At least in the manga, anyway, her anime voice sounded girly enough for me not to wonder about it (then again, I'd already knew she was a girl by that point.)
Was Oda trying to pull some kind of gender-bender fake-out? Or am I reading something into nothing?
