Seeing the brutality of the chimera was sickening but daring for Kubo..though seeing Matsumoto's "man-lovers" take over at the end…meh.

Yeah, that one was really surprising. Props for Kubo because the scene really get's you. Also even though they had their fights it's nice to see that Hisagi (was that his name?) and Kira are back. I hope though that Ikakku will fight that Chimera because of the scolding he received from Komamura's lieutenant. This Chimera just screems "perfect opponent for Ikakku".

Oh yeah, sorry for the typo. But smurf yeah, Iba would also be sweet. Even a team up of him with Ikkaku would be nice. However I still hope and think that baldie will fight alone against him. Mainly because I've always had the impression that Kubo let him lose and receive a scolding for a reason and that this reason would be that he will show his Bankai in front of everyone. And now is the perfect chance. There's still three Fraccion left to fight after that Chimera thing is defeated so it's not like Iba would be left out empty handed.

While I give Kubo points for imagination (a chimera made out of left arms?), and balls (again, ouch), I'm a little miffed that the girls are getting pushed aside and the boys are coming to the rescue. C'mon, girl power!
Then again they're fighting three girls, so I guess it evens out. Still.

But girlie mangas are full of wimpy girls, there's actually more tough girls in the average shonen manga than half of shoujo.
Not that there aren't strong shoujo heroines (and don't I love them), but there are also many many many wimps and crybabies. Bleh.

Really I'm shocked. At first only it's fingers looked bloody so I thought I was just reading wrong and it only knicked her after destroyed her release but… damn. And thank God Kubo didn't go for "Himori saves the day". I must say I'm getting interested again. The Soul Society needs some more casualties to make this actually seem an even fight. Good chapter though.

What Kubo is doing there with Jūshirō and Shunsui is pretty gay. Jūshirō can't raise his hand against Aizen's soul eating monsters when they look like little girls and Shunsui and Stark are like 'I only go full power when you go full power too' 'You go first' 'No you go first' 'No you, hihihihihigay'.
This laid back reaction to Yamamoto's command:"Get them, we must risk our life's to defeat them!" is removing the last traces of tension this battle might have had.

It's not like Kubo was trying for tension with those two anyways, they're clearly all just screwing around.
It's a nice difference from the HOLY SHIT DRAMA with Matsumoto and friends over with their Chimera buddy, and the battle of blahness that's sure to come with iceboy and his hoochie opponent.
It's not like it's taking over the entire chapter either, so there's no real reason to complain. The real boredom isn't even here yet, as Ichigo's fight with Ulqiorra still hasn't started. :p

BTW, this may seem like a weird question, but has it ever been stated anywhere whether or not soul reapers (or I guess souls in general) reproduce? I know they marry and that they adopt children, but they've never gone into great detail about that. In particular, I'm wondering where Toshiro came from. Well, if they don't rerproduce then I guess he was some kid that died and worked his way up to being a captain (but then this also makes me wonder how soul reapers age) Anyway, I may have answered my own question, but if anyone wants to confirm this for me, that would be great.

lol wasn't someone saying Matsumo was captain level. El verugo fight can go either two ways. Kira and 69 own him. But if that doesn't happen expect Ikkaku to show up and do his bankai. Lilinet being uber week seems off. She probably just fooling around right now. And is alot more stronger. If not that's a huge way to waste a Ukitate fight.

Well the strange thing is that three of the most prominent 4th Division (Unohana, Isane, Hanataro) are currently trapped in HM with Ichigo's loonies…so unless someone else can heal or Iemura shows up, I don't think they will.

On topic: I hope this Chimera nonsense wraps up soon and we move on to Hitsugaya vs. Halibel or the continuation of Stark vs. Shunsui. Although I'm not a fan of Shrimpo, his fight should at least be somewhat entertaining, especially if Halibel's release is something ridiculous. As for Strawberry and Cockroach boy, I could care less, unless Uliquorra's release IS a giant cockroach, then the fight would be epic no matter HOW bad the fight is.

Also you can't really count Mayuri, his entire body is a mystery.
