I thought that Ukitake and Kyoraku were the only ones with "twin blade"- zanpakuto's. Doesn't Hisagi's count because it isn't technically a sword? Or did Kubo just forget about it?
Well, their zanpakutos are 2 swords, while Hisagi only has one. And Hisagi's is one weapon despite it being to scythes, sort of like Ikkaku's bankai.
Violence teaches kids a lot of stuff, like how there's violence.

I'd say to hold off on judging Hisagi's Shikai until, you know, we actually find out what exactly it does.
Kira's release seemed boring to a lot of people too until its weight-doubling power was shown. Just give it another chapter. :/

Kyouraku has two swords as default, Ukitake has one. They both have two upon release, but Ukitake's are connected by a ropelike thing and Kyouraku's aren't.

! Ikkaku appears to have lost to that big guy (probably won't be for long knowing this series)…which probably means that Shuuhei finished Findor off easily since there's no spoilers at all regarding that fight and the only pic is Ikkaku.

- Findor seems scared and tries to escape, but Hisagi throws a sickle, catches him and thus, wins
- one of the pillars has been destroyed and Ikkaku has collapsed, the text in the only spoiler pic says "Ikkaku!"
! So… is Ikkaku truly defeated or merely knocked out for a second?

Kubo can write really good monologues like that.
I liked this chapter. Not a lot happening, but that's Bleach chapters for you. What was there managed to be cool-looking and well-written.

Not saying a lot considering nothing really happened of significance besides Hisagi attacks like once and a pillar explodes, since Ikkaku lost. Two choices to pick from.
Who knows if Ikkaku really lost, and those 2 things to chose from was more interesting for me, then what happened in One Piece or Naruto, this week.

Very good chapter. I just recently picked this series back up after the whole turning back the clock stuff. I'm enjoying the pacing of these fights.
Ikkaku is going to blow our minds next chapter. that's what i'm guessing.
I sense a manly death on the horizon.

Manly death? Yeah, Ikkaku WOULD have a manly death, but I highly doubt he'd fall before an underling. If the others have beaten their opponents, I have no doubt Ikkaku will too.
If he DOES die then I expect it to be against an Espada or higher.

I think I'm with whoever said "the pillar was destroyed to show more tension and Ikkaku is rather fine and will probably kick Po butt when he gets back up". All I want to know now is what will happen after Barrigan's Fraccion finally bite it: will we finally get Espada fights? Will Halibel's Fraccion move out? Will Kubo switch back to Ichigo/Ulquiorra? Will the Vizard finally arrive on the front? We'll know soon enough but I'm more anticipating that than this cliffhanger.

I liked this chapter. Not a lot happening, but that's Bleach chapters for you. What was there managed to be cool-looking and well-written.
Yeah, if anything, Bleach has a good story, it's just limited in scope. Some of Kubo's older works are showcased in Zombie Powder (which HAS to come back when Bleach ends) and all of them are well written. Try looking up Ultra Unholy Hearted Machine, it was the first one shot Kubo wrote.

My prediction is that Ikaku's oponet through seems a battle type, is a magic type, and could knock him down enough time to break the pillar.

I don't even understand how somebody can expect anything else. Ikkaku being down for good is IMO a definite nono. But it was a smart move by Kubo to have chosen him for this scene because with anybody else the wtf? imapct wouldn't have been nearly as strong. These past chapters really were a blast to read through and it's nice to see that your interest in the series ist justified.

! Ikkaku stays down, Po gets hit by Komamura. (sort of hope captains wouldn't get involved with this but I guess they just want to get through this part to get to the next thing…
! Edit: There's a script out...well it was just one hit by Komamura before he's knocked away and Po's releasing to fight...Iba. Somehow an interesting turn of events with Iba representing both 7th Division (his captain) and 11th Division (used to be a member there...I think he was even under Renji in rank back then) so having him beat Po would get one more character out of the way in philosophy.Y'know, Negima WAS awesome…

! Kira kills Kifune. Amagai Shuusuke kills Kumoi. Amagai Shuusuke is evil. OMG, THE 3RD SQUAD CAPTAIN TURNED EVIL! WHAT AN ORIGINAL, SHOCKING AND UNEXPECTED TWIST!!!!!!11
Also, Enryuu has an extremely girly voice. Guess that's why he never spoke before.

Yeah, Iba is essentially the "Hiroshima gangster", possibly inspired by Kubo's childhood (I think he said he was born in Hiroshima) and the guy in the shades. We have seen his Shikai before but we never saw the release so we don't know it's name nor have we really seen him fight…since he and Ikkaku decided to drink instead.
! Some are speculating Po could be a teamup of Komamura and Iba but since he's still essentially a Fraccion (and Ikkaku's defeat was more or less pride than actual power), I think having Iba handle him is a good replacement.

The chapter just seemed to me one part "this is how dangerous a Fraccion can be" (while keeping Ikakkku stubborn) and one part "let's give Iba a fight"….but somehow his Shikai looks like it could blow up a balloon with that little protrusion alongside his blade.

This should be a good fight, but I couldn't help but LOL at the bobblehead release of Po. I kind of expected Kubo to make Ikkaku choke because of his pride; besides, we've already seen his release AND Bankai, so let's let someone else stand up to the plate.

I dunno why everyone really expected Ikakku to fight when he's already so well developed. Kubo actually develops the secondary characters he creates, unlike some mangaka coughKishicough.
Besides, I always wanted to see Iba in action. Komamura is saved for Tousen.
