If you're going by that, than there's a possibility that you'll see the true final roster and say it's fake.
Oh well, it's your decision.
What's wrong with Isaac…
He's more of a "GAMEFAQS WET DREAM" character than a viable roster addition

So was Sonic, and yet you see him on the roster..
I always thought a magic caster swordsman fighter would be pretty cool. Seeing the Djinn in 3D would be awesome.

and it's proven that Sakurai has shown interest in the Golden Sun series. The music is (or one of) the most requested music to be in this game, and Isaac was requested a fair amount of times as well.
Kinda hard to believe things from Gamefaqs when you see so many "leaked" rosters. Most people would rather wait till an offcial roster from the site or when people who have that japanese version of the game post it up with pics :O
Sonic was a very likely and viable character from the beginning. Anyone could've seen that ever since Snake was introduced and Sakurai hinted at the inclusion of other 3rd Party characters.
Sonic was extremely viable, likely, and fucking expected.
Come on. He's Sonic.
what bout Geno, I likes Geno
what bout Geno, I likes Geno
You fool! What have you done?! And we just managed to change the subject of conversation too. .Geno for Brawl
Ignoring that…
What the hell is this mess? Why are we so goddamn desperate to learn the roster only 2 weeks before the game hits shelves?! Is the concept of 'suspense' lost on nearly everyone with an internet connection? Here's a novelty idea: "SIDDOWN AND SHUT THE FUCK UP". I don't care if everyone's making fun of you for thinking Bowser Jr./Issac/Geno is going to be in Brawl. It's your tastes vs. theirs. Whether they got in or not has already been decided, so no amount of bitching is going to improve their chances now. Sit quietly and wait for the actual Japanese launch of the game (which, by the way, is the only way we'll know the 'legit' information about characters.)
I...I'm sorry. I'm just .... so pissed off over what this game is spawning. Prophets and Fanboys and everything else.
Lol Lapen.
That's a good post you have there.
I can't believe I thought almightygoat was possibly legit…
His "leak" doesn't even have FUCKING K. Rool.
@Komrade:

His "leak" doesn't even have FUCKING K. Rool.
IT WAS A JOKE ROSTER! i mean , use ur head.if u see spiderman on it , its a joke or a complete fake .
Nah, it was before this roster.
It was when he made up that "MY SOURCE WAS WRONG I'M GONNA SPOIL THE GAME IN MY ANGER".
that list is wrong because there is no animal crossing guy and there has to be an animal crossing guy or my dreams will be crushed.
fuck animal crossing.well,as long as k.rool and ridley are in,i don't care who else makes it
K. Rool deserves to be in this game more than anyone I can think of at the moment. I dont care whether if he's in his pirate costume or not, just please let the big guy in the game!
Olimar seems fun to use! I'm glad Sakurai confirmed his whole moveset.
What do you think will happen when Kirby eats Olimar? Will he just throw a pickmin with B or will he be able to pluck them up and have an army too?
Maybe he'll get to use some of Olimar's Smash attacks that use Pikmin, otherwise I don't see how Olimar-Kirby would work outside of making the move he gains from him different in some way.
I would rather wait for official confirmation of characters to be honest
According to this TC who got Corocoro on his hands, he said that the original person who said Zelda's Down+B is Twilight Change is false. The card only showed her Final Smash and nothing else.
http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=136504
Oh well, it's back to Sheik speculation again…
On the side note, Charizard's Up+B is Fly.
Yeah, might as well wait. We only got like 9 or 10 magical updates left. The last of which will probably be the final 3rd party (or not)
I have a funny feeling that Sakurai won't reveal everything by game day launch (In terms of updates) but that he will continue releasing them after the game is out. Sure people will spoil them but there is no way 9 or 10 more updates will reveal everything at the pace he is going.
Zelda's obviously still gonna have a transformation… they just want to keep it secret.
Whether it be Midna or Shiek or Possessed Zelda, who knows.

Final notes:
The Corocoro magazine also states that Sonic and Snake are hidden characters. Moreover, the magazine gives three ways that hidden characters can be unlocked. 1: By clocking in game time. 2: By racking up your match count. 3: By completing the various game modes.
The magazine also states that more cards will come out next month (March issue) along with card files made to hold a total of 40 cards.
So that ALMIGHTY GOAT guy is debunked even further, since Charizard's Up+B is Fly and not Air Cutter
Dedede's Neutral B is confirmed as an Inhale
And it looks like Ike has a lame Counter move too.
And Zelda's down B is omitted. Oh boy.
edit: looks like ALMIGHTYGOAT made a big crying CONFESSION on his Gamespot profile, saying everything he ever posted was fake. Hope you goofballs learned your lesson.
Next month: three characters and seven cards dedicated to the menu system.
The American game will be out by then even, so it's pretty much doesn't matter.
By the way, "Corkscrew" for Wario? Wasn't that one of his GCN game moves?

Figures. .
I still don't understand the Shiek hate, maybe it's cause I'm just a casual Smash-er, and could never reach professional level, but I'd think Fox and Falco are just as annoying as Shiek.
Besides, Fox was nerfed, Shiek was probably too.
Brawl looks like it'll be much more balanced than Melee
I never really liked Sheik since it basically made the Zelda character obsolete. Zelda as a whole is rare: a female character who is basically a powerhouse, slow but her attacks really hurt. When you put a move that turns Zelda into a very fast character who also has really strong attacks that can flow into each other easily i.e. Sheik, it kind of makes playing Zelda useless.
That's just me though I have no idea why others don't like Sheik, but I'm thinking my reasons make some kind of sense.
http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=136275
Some magazine interview, the only thing that is usefull about it is this:
But he shouldn't get too optimistic about the prospect of an evened-out Smash Bros. "In a game like this," says Bihldorff, "you're never going to get to this utopia where everything's balanced perfectly. You strive for it, but the chances of it ever happening are pretty much nil. The character roster is just way too big. There are too many moves, too many factors."
The Bidolf guy is the dojo translator, and works translating stuff for nintendo.
This bring a problem, if someone like Little Mac wasn't in, we thought that it was in favor of a more compact and balanced roster, but if it is "way too big" what kind of characters are trully in? I am more inclined for a "character per franchise" deal, even if that cuts out most of my favorites, but we all know that sort of thing didn't happened, so many of the newcomers will be from already established franchises.
For "way too big" I'm guessing somewhere near 2x(melee's)
As a uncompetitive player, I like alot of characters…however, it may not be completely balanced but the guy doesn't seem like he's saying it's completely unbalanced either.
And I read "Bildof" as Bidoof.
I still don't understand the Shiek hate, maybe it's cause I'm just a casual Smash-er, and could never reach professional level, but I'd think Fox and Falco are just as annoying as Shiek.
Sheik is broken at all levels of play, casual or competitive. Most of Fox's advanced techniques require a high level of skill to pull off, while most of Sheik's nonsense is just bullshit chain throws, tilt links, and her overpowered f.air that even the most casual player could do.
And yeah, Sheik's existence literally made another character completely obsolete. Completely. I mean, it's pretty impressive when that happens.
As for maxterdexter's post, that's just common sense in fighting games: nothing is ever perfectly balanced. But yeah, the guy basically just stated the reason why: there's too many fucking characters. It's funny how people whine about OH GOSH THERE AREN'T 50 CHARACTERS IN BRAWL?!, but some of those same people will go DUDE WHAT THE FUCK HOW COULD THEY MAKE <insert>SO CHEAP.</insert>
@Cyringohn:

I hate when people rely on tier shit. If you wanna play Zelda, play Zelda. I know how the tourney scene works and I think its bullshit. People only playing as top and high tier characters. A friend of mine is the best DK on the east coast, because he likes playing as DK, who is not top or high by any means. If it were up to me, I'd try to rise the ranks with Ness. As long as I'm having fun, I don't give a shit. I could give less than a flying crap about m2k's rainman stats.
I use Zelda way more than Sheik, it's all about how you use the character. Obsolete is not the word to use here.
I don't think he was talking about tiers. At all.
Seems to me Cyringohn was more concerned about Zelda being useless then about her not being top-tier.
No but here's the thing. That's just the point. A character being low-tier correlates to them being useless. How is Zelda useless? You don't have to use Sheik.

He means how most fighting games probably have around 10-15 characters max, and Melee (and subsequently Brawl) have doubled that amount
And there's about a million other factors as to why Smash Bros. can't be balanced. The fact that getting back to the ledge is about 50% of the gameplay is one of the bigger ones.
@Cap'n:
The fact that getting back to the ledge is about 50% of the gameplay is one of the bigger ones.
Judging by the range of characters' up-Bs in this game looks like that'll be easier to do, thank god.
Yeah, it looks like getting back to the ledge will be a little bit more evened out this time.
Especially with shit like TETHER RECOVERY
@Cyringohn:

I was complaining more about the "6 mario char, 9 pokemon char, 7 zelda char" rather than a more franchise oriented aproach.
The balance is an illussion.
Well, to be fair, some Franchises just don't have alot of viable options.
For example, Yoshi. I'm kinda surprised he's not just not made into a Mario Series character since, y'know, his games share simmilar gameplay and characters with Mario and his first ever starring role was even called "Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island".
Some other franchises have alot of characters, but all of them are about the same level of importance its hard to choose one to use.
And I don't think the balance the guy talks about has anything to do with there being more Pokemon and Mario characters, but in terms of fairness in fights.
The point that I'm triying to make is that if the roster is BIG, and an icconic retro character, with a gaming style that could easily be revived on the wii like it is little mac wasn't included in the roster, there aren't many franchises with much options (like Yoshi's that doesn't have much that isn't mario's, F-zero that after falcon and goroh there aren't much iconic racers, G&W Pikmin and Ice Climbers in where you could only chose a black 2-d firespewing seal as the last option, and Fire emblem where there are like 7 main characters (not counting the multilords games)), and the ones with options are prety much well represented in the game anyways.
The point is:
Many caracters.
Good character options from new franchises rejected.
Expandible Franchises already well represented.
Underrepresented Franchises hard to… un underrepresent...
What road was taken? 2 weeks more to know
Tether recovery is actually a curse, as I see it, since your opponent can edgeguard you and fuck you over completely.
Ike's got Counter, eh? I guess it's a Fire Emblem themed move in this game, even though they never do anything like that in their OWN games.
@The:
No but here's the thing. That's just the point. A character being low-tier correlates to them being useless. How is Zelda useless? You don't have to use Sheik.
That's like saying IF YOU DON'T USE HYPER VIPER BEAM, CABLE ISN'T CHEAP.
I'm not going to sit there and not use attacks to play a character. Zelda was designed around the ability to use Sheik, so that's what I'm going to do.
The problem is that Sheik doesn't compliment Zelda – she fucking overrides her. In the anus.
And yeah, I wasn't talking about tiers. Sheik is still an abusable fucking skank in casual play.
Tether recovery is actually a curse, as I see it, since your opponent can edgeguard you and fuck you over completely.
You can edgehog any character, so I don't see what this has to do with tether recoveries.
Most of the time, your best hope [or your only hope] is sweetspotting the edge, not trying to Up+B back onto the actual stage. Either way, if you edgehog somebody, they'll probably die, tether or no tether.
@Cyringohn:
That's like saying IF YOU DON'T USE HYPER VIPER BEAM, CABLE ISN'T CHEAP.
Well I don't think MvC2 is a fair example because EVERYTHING in that game is cheese.

But if they edgehog, you won't be able to grab onto the edge with tether recovery, which means it's pretty much useless if your opponent has half a brain.
