Well, my brother likes One Piece and we played, but the game just wasn't made for VS. fighting.
The strawhats had the most moves (8 or something) while everyone else had 3-5. It was EXTREMELY unbalanced and you were FORCED to have crappy characters because of the point system. It also had a crappy camera.

This is what I was worried about. From looking at videos of Crocodile, the only moves I know he has in the game consist of Spada, a slash with his hook, and Sables with his Special being Ground Death. He's always been one of my favorite characters and I hope they add more attacks. He had a lot more and there isn't much of an excuse.

Ah, I think I meant that I didn't find the point in playing versus mode as MARINES WITH BAZOOKA or any other minor enemy that is available as an unllockable. I would rather have more bosses, but so far, the minor enemies look awesome, specially the acrobatic pirates.

I found a vid here that shows a little bit of Cruise, with Enel, and then it shows another One Piece game that looks like it's in the chibi style/Grand Battle. If I need to move this, tell me because I'm not sure.

I'm pretty sure that screen with Enel was Unlimited Adventure, cause that's the same scene which occurs in the game when you beat him once and he comes back to life.
The chibi game according to Greg is OnePy (which is One Piece's nickname in Japan) and it's aimed at children, it's one of those games where you buy cards and scan them.

I was thinking the same thing about the Enel revival. Hopefully they didn't just crop out the battles from the last game and put it into this one without some improvements and differences.
As for the other game, darn. I thought it was another GB one. Oh well.

I made a One Piece worthy face fault when Moria came on-screen for this OnePy game thing. Too bad it's card shit. I wish they'd drop that whole system.
But UC looks good, I liked the Brooke thing and what was shown in that movie <3

I thought of an idea for the New game coming out next year. This thread is for coming up for new ideas for it. No matter how stupid or simple-minded it is.
My first idea is this.
Remember that one One Piece game that when Sanji fights a female he goes into "Mellorine mode". I was thinking that if you give characters a certain costume they act differently and/or can preform different special moves.
Another example is Chopper. When he uses his Chopperman costume he uses different specials like Kyun Spark to Confuse the enemies giving you a chance to attack them, and Chopper Violence, Which is a very powerfull attack enough to replace the Rumble ball.
Tell me if this is a good idea or not. We may have a return of Afro Luffy if this works.

More like at the character select screen getting a voice message in Sanji's love cook mode saying "How could I possibly fight her?!" whenever you tried to pick someone female to fight against him.

The one game that did what Buuhan is suggesting well was Treasure Battle, but even in that there was a team system so that whole problem never really came to light. If I recall correctly, Sanji did half damage to all women and became faster and stronger if a woman was on his team. There were some other weaknesses and strengths too that I can't remember all of, like Zoro being unable to hurt Tashigi, Ace and Crocodile being completely 100% useless if any water was touching them, Arlong being essentially immune to the effects of deep water, etc. It made for a pretty cool system that made you base your team-building choices per opponent a bit more carefully; but then again it was just a dumb party game so I never really much cared about winning, haha.

One of the big arguments for fans of fighting games that are based on a manga/comic series is that here you give the player the opportunity to make his/her own dream match ups in the "I´ve always wanted these two guys to fight" spirit.
From a gamers point of view some differences have to be made in comparison to the original story. I mean if Nami can defeat Aokiji then there isn´t a reason why Sanji shouldn´t kick a woman. In a fighting game such restrictions really aren´t necessary.
In a RPG or in a game with at least little RPG-esque character it would work again because they live from the different traits of characters.

This isn't an RPG, it's an Action-Adventure game. Just give Sanji heart eyes and have him say things like "What have I done?!" when he kicks a girl. You know, like what Grand Adventure did.
