Yeah, Monster is pretty neat at the moment, not very far in but
quite enjoyable. It's my first myster manga/anime and I'm loving it.Although the length of it scares me simply based on the core plot. I honestly don't think it should take that long, but I'll see I suppose.

The manga focuses on the effects that Johan has society, not Tenma vs. Johan. That's why it's so long.

Ah that would explain the length. For some reason, I thought it was all just leading up to Tenma v Johan. Focus on Johan's corruption actually seems even better to me than what I had originally thought it was gonna be.

Well, Tenma vs. Johan is still a very prominent theme [and the most important one]. It's just that there are a lot of secondary characters in this manga.
And yeah, they do. But what happens is really unexpected. Oh, and Runge is a total fucking pimp in that hotel scene. Felt that the ending was utterly perfect for the manga. Won't say anymore than that, though.

The artwork never really bothered me much I for one really liked the manga for all the extra stuff and violence it had that didn't make it into the anime
Like Hiei cutting Seiryu to shreds instead of causing his forehead to bleed and then disappear in a rush of smoke. -

1.Yu Yu Hakusho (my absolutely favorite series, I remember watching the movie when I was younger and instantly the t.v show became a hit for me, I find the manga to have been well followed for it's anime adaption)
2. One Piece ( very rare do you get an anime that except for a few episodes goes allmost page to page of what the manga showed)
3.Dragonball Z ( it's a fun ride, not as good as the manga)
4. Rurouni Kenshin ( if it wasn't for the first season and that retarted filler crap after kyoto and those god awefull OVA's I would of put this at the no.1 spot)
5.Fist of the north star (even though the artwork is better than what's I put previously above it, I hold it at five for personal reasons)
6. Samurai Champloo (jin and mugen two bad ass mofo's nuff said)
7. Soul Eater (it's neat, seems to follow the manga from what i've seen so i'll give this series a bit more time)

Hmmmm I like those animes a lot and they were the first ones to pop into my head no order if i thought about it more I could prob come up with some more animes that I really enjoyed.
