Whoo yeah, now I'm getting the hang of Jecht's midair combos. Working on the ground combos now, seems trickier than the midair ones.
Dissidia: Final Fantasy (It's a fighter it seems…)
-
-
Hey, anyone can list me all the characters that aparear as cameos and give the tutorials?
I read around that Penelo coments on the fighters, Quistis explains equipments and Rydia explains summons, but I would like the full list.
-
Wow… I forgot about this game for some reason. Got bored at Shade Impulse... The story seems very... fanfic.
-
The story doesn't mean shit, and you can tell they know that.
-
Yeah, I know. I just wished the the gameplay didn't involve loading screens for scenes I'll skip and a boring chess board to proceed. I'm just not motivated to unlock the rest of the stuff. Grinding is out of the question too.
Heck, I enjoyed Soulcalibur 2's story mode over this… Not sure why...
-
The battle colosseums are a lot nicer to play than the story mode. But, shit happens, you have to pull through the story mode with various characters, to unlock 'em…
-
Really, you don't need to go through Story Mode very much, unless you want to get all the summons. And the load times can be cut down tremendously by doing a Data Install, so I don't get the point of complaining there…
-
I did use Data Install. I'm just saying there's too many transitions to start things in Story Mode. Score Screen, Title Screen, Cutscene, Board, move to position, enemy status screen, then fight.
I still play Arcade and with friends on the go though. Just not as much as other fighters I got.
-
Sorry to bump this, but I picked this game up again after hearing part 2 was announced.
Having already mastered Bartz and Zidane, I'm trying to pick a third character to main. I've been toying with Ultimecia a little, and I'm TRYING to like her, but thus far she's given me little incentive to.
I've essentially limited my list down to the following:
-Terra
-Kefka
-Squall
-Ulty
-Kuja
-ShantottoWhat do you guys think?
-
-Terra - Essentially good against most enemies except ExDeath. Face a good ExDeath and you're screwed. Take full advantage of Holy, ESPECIALLY in EX Mode.
-Kefka - Attacks are unpredictable, but he's also difficult to master. Also, ExDeath punishes him quite well.
-Squall - Very balanced. Has some great attacks. A safe bet.
-Ulty - I enjoy Ulty a lot, but her moves are easy to punish (again, by ExDeath).
-Kuja - Fast and great with ranged. Even with his projectiles, ExDeath players have to try to keep up.
-Shantotto - I'm not very good with her, but she's very unpredictable. -
Hmm… Ulty's great at putting distance, but her HP moves have been terribad so far. I have to go into EX Mode just so I can Time Crush the foe long enough to charge a hit, but then, lucky me, I miss -_-

The big thing with her HP moves is timing. You can charge them each, and move while charging.
Wait until your enemy does something stupid (like use a brave move) and then take your attack. She's all a game of patience.
Have you gotten Armageddon yet for her?
-
nah, I just got her to Level 6.
At least her air game is slightly better now.
EDIT: Oh lawl, damn I didn't know she could move THAT much.
That changes everything.
-
On the subject of Ultimecia, if you don't mind me posting one of my own videos of her as a helpful example…

Ulti centers around two things: spacing and aiming. Space with her BP attacks, and learn to aim her HP attacks. They actually have huge advantages, but only in the zones they effect. Apocalypse, for instance, has MASSIVE vertical range, while Great Attractor only fires straight ahead, but fires like a bullet. Make good use of her BP attacks to keep the opponent at bay, then trap them in rage of her HP attacks. Equiping damage increasers, particularly upping ATK to make her criticals stronger, works wonders. Turns all those little rapid hits into BP-sucking monsters.
and elaborating on the list Insider gave earlier. Kuja is pretty much the only character that can take it to Exdeath, but mainly in his BP game. His HP game is heavily punishable by the VOID, so be careful.
-
Damn, Schmeckie, you make it look effortless.
Are there any really quick (non-Exdeath trick) ways to level your villains? I've gotten Ulty up to Level 7, but that's it
-
Single-player campaigns are the best thing I can recommend. That's how I did it. Plus it's more fun that way.
-
With the villains?
Or are you talking the Distant Glories?
-
If its pure leveling you want? Find a friend that has a level 100 character and lots of great items. have them de-equip all attacks on the character and put on any items you want to clone. Get their battle card.
Then, in your free time, particularly on your bonus day and using exp enhancing items, battle the level 100 character that has no attacks. You can gain 60 levels in a round.
Useful for the characters you want to level up but dont really want to play. Not reccomended for characters you actually want to use for a while, since they'll learn all their moves simultaneously and you waon't have a chance to break them in or really experiment.
-
If only I had a friend who plays this game besides my cousin ><
I'd get on Ad-hoc Party if my TV weren't so far away from my internet.
-
Do what I did: get a 100ft cable. My router's on the floor below my PS3, and it worked for me.
Anyway, the level 100 trick isn't recommended, since it won't net you any AP, just a lot of EXP. So you'll have crap for AP, and you need AP.
If you wanna buff up the villains, Duel Colisseum, as well as the FF11, 12, and Inward Chaos story modes are all great choices. And they'll net you a shitload of swag along the way!
And you need that swag…!
-
Swag is good. :D And I like getting AP on the way.
In any case, I wanted to ask, but… how the hell do you even begin to win in Inward Chaos. My level 100 Zidane can handle most Level 100 Maximum's just fine, but 92 WoL is just mopping the floor with me...
-
Er… Get really good? I dunno, I kinda breezed through Inward Chaos, so I don't know of any specific tips... >.>
If a level 92 is handing you your ass, you might wanna take a look at your equipment...
-
Yeah, my equips are only about Level 71-ish, except for my Weapon, which is The Tower
-
Get some top-level gear, then head back to Inward Chaos. Duel Colisseum should help on that front.
-
Alrighty, I'll give that a try, then.
-

It's been a while since I played Dissidia but, as I remember, equipping and using a larger variety of moves helped me get past Inner Chaos. Before then I mostly coasted through the game on only a couple of attacks. Using a larger variety seemed to make it harder for the AI to predict what I was doing.
I hope that helps.
-
Finally got Ultimecia to Level 21. Hello, Speed Boost ^_^
-
Huzzah, I have ad-Hoc Party access again!
-
I'd advise waiting until you get strong enough to beat Inward Chaos before heading online. otherwise you'll get eaten alive…
-
I just found that out the hardway. o_O
-
How do you get the specific ingredients for the final weapons? I have enough orbs, but I really hope I don't have to grind Droll Colliseum in order to get Megalixers to turn into unshelled bullets and lust for powers.
-
Duel Colisseum is pretty much your main option. Best thing you can do is get the cards that increase the rate that treasure appears, and that lower the prices on them. Then just keep winning, keep getting those coins, and you'll be able to farm a truckload of goodies.
It's also a great way to level up characters, so two birds in one stone, there.
-
Well, I've managed to make it down to the third part of Inward Chaos.
I got some great artifacts during my online stint, netting me some Lufenian-grade equips. Still need to snag my ultimate weapon though.
