Just an idea to kick around. Most poll threads would be better and more productive as discussion. Maybe polls should be open only to mods? Or maybe abusers should be restricted?

There are some useless polls out there (I have to admit), but I don't think restricting everyone/most of the members would be fair, since those who have created 'proper' polls would be getting punished for nothing.
I don't know if you can restrict a user on their polling abilities with Invision (I've only used the 'free' version elsewhere). While 'useless' polling isn't an offense, maybe the admins/mods could warn members when they excessively poll/poll nonsense? Just my two cents there.
Ha ha, nice avatar there Bloodfoot.

That's unnecessary, what would we do without polls.

I'm assuming you meant to type "without polls."
Discuss different opinions without being limited to a small handful of choices, maybe?
(Rasengan Zero – hee, thanks.)

i think polls are good when you respond and explin your selection after you vote. i like polls becuse you can see where people fall with out having to read through everything. but if you just vote and leave then yeah polls are pointless
-
I'd like to have polls where you could vote for more than 1 option, for example if you vote for 2 people each would get 0.5 points added, if you vote for 5, each would get 0.2 points etc.

I'll admit that I have some craptastic polls (sometimes leaves some stuff out), but it's good for there to be intelligent polls such as a survey to find out an opinion on an important topic.
(Did what I just say make sense?) >_>

Well… I can't tell much, but I will say we're not ignoring your comments and concerns, everyone, and something is being concocted.

How is it good NOT to get opinions from people? I find the discussion part much more interesting then just looking at a bunch of numbers.
There have been some interesting polls, but there have also been some retarded polls. A suggestion I may make to the crew is that all polls must be approved by a mod or an admin before posting.

C-can that work with threads too?

Trust me, I wish it could…but imagine if every thread made had to be approved first.
It's really more a problem with certain members then anything else as far as threads go - we're working on it.

Disable Poll Creation?
Hell No!
If Every thread with a question had a poll, that would dramatically decrease the 3-10 word posts.Even for a non question threads like this one, a poll to count the 'thanks' would reduce posts like "Oh! Thank you very much"

Word of advice, newbie. If it's older than two or three weeks old, don't bump it. No need to resurrect a dead topic to hear your opinion.
