I think that "too many main characters" list is a bit exaggerated, quite of those guys were either one-shot characters who only appeared in one or two games so far (Emerl/Gemerl, Babylon Rogues) or guys who haven't actually done anything for a while now (Big, Tikal, Chaos and although they had a slightly more recent appearance, the Chaotix).
And the Chao aren't even main characters, except for Cheese if you count him and Cream as seperate characters.

The RPG has me excited even more tho. Might be the first sonic game I will actually buy in a long time.

Sonic Team makes the main games in the franchise, on the big consoles, and they suck.
Dimps makes 2d side scrolling Sonic games for handhelds, and so far all 4 have been really good, and this new one looks great.
Only trust Sonic games made by Dimps!

That was a cool trailer. I am really excited for this game, and FENCING is in there?! Epic win.
I wonder if this game will try to have a storyline. I hope so. And I also hope that this game sells SUPA well, that way a platformer crossover with a story of the two can possibly come out. Now that would be the best game ever.

Yea, once the sonic universe mixed with human's besides Eggman, I stopped caring.
I just stick with the handheld games. ALL of them kick ass imo. Even Sonic Battle I loved.
Which is why I'm SO glad that the RPG is on DS. I hope it's a completely seperate continuity from the console games as well.

The 3D games get uncalled hate. Shadow the Hedgehog was good, people was just pissed that Sonic was getting his ass kicked in it and wasn't the main character.
And SEGA keeps the games from being stale by making new characters.

Camera was awful. story wasn't even entertaining like the first 2 sonic adventures(cut scenes had significantly lower quality), and the gun thing was a rather retarded and annoying way to make it appeal to a "more mature"(If you bought this game for the guns, you need help) audience, when all it does is alienate the fans who already enjoyed the franchise.
and oh yea, different color hedgehogs keep the shit fresh. >_>
Shadow really sucked compared to the previous games. They need to stop trying to add combat features that slow down the game play, and start making the fast paced action more difficult.
I'm a big sonic fan BTW, so I'm not hating just to hate. I disliked it because it was bad. Plain and simple( I really wanted to like it, I just couldn't)
I really wouldn't mind sonic becoming a handheld only series.

I agree with ya on the camera part, but I found the game to be entertaining. You guys that post here forget that we all have different opinions and there are a lot of Shadow The Hedgehog fans and 3D Sonic fans.
So it sucks in your opinion, but not in mine.

The gun wasn't the problem, the problem was it sucked! I don't agree with all the bashing the series has recived over the years but Shadow the Hedgehog definitely deserved what it got.

Espio is seen in the background once before Wario, and during the Amy Rose part. I found that to be a nice cameo.

Didn't they say 20 characters? I guess that doesn't mean there won't be unlockables. I would expect Vector since Espio and Charmy have been confirmed and they are a team after all. I won't doubt Silver will make it in either. Anyway it looks fun and even though I'm a fan of the series I'm a bit sceptical about this game.
