Here's something for those people that believe that the end is the beginning, or Reverse Mountain is where one piece is.

One PIece could be in the sky, and the milky dial will be able to lead them there from the Top of Reverse Mountain. Remember how milky dials seem to work in the sky only? Well I'm pretty sure that the top of reverse mountain was above the clouds. Well in the anime its confirmed and i'm pretty sure in the manga So just use the milky dial to get to the sky on reverse mountain and BOOM one piece.

would be one hell of a twist. but how did Roger get up on the mountain? theres no entrance from the west side. did he first leave the grand line to use one of the four blues entrances?

(im confused by all theese people leaveing grand line as Zeff was stated to be the only known or one of the few people that left GL alive or something… btw how did Don kreig pass the calmbelt? he doesnt really seem strong enough to have done it even if he had a fleet.)

Actually, I think this too. ^^; I just think that we, the readers, will know at least generally what the initial D means before all of the information about the Void Century, even if the Strawhats don't… via flashbacks, or other characters in other places, or something. And so at some point when the D is super important to the story, and the Strawhats are just completely confused, we'll all be going "Hey, it's THIS! It's this!! Just... talk to this one character who's totally your enemy and ask them about it! Trust me on this one!" until they figure it out for themselves...

And you really do make a point on the Poneglyphs, since Robin is the only one left who can read them, it wouldn't really be fair for that to be part of the trial to get there... I still think there are definitely Poneglyphs on Raftel though... they might even be One Piece itself. :3

Perhaps that's part of why Roger challenged everyone to come and get it from him -- there weren't many who could make use of it that could make the voyage, anyway!

Well I have a feeling that the mysterious civilization that build the weapons originated on Raftel so I'm sure that the void history poneglyph's will be there, but I expect One Peice to be enlightenment and Roger requesting that the next pirate king pass the dream of One Piece on to the new generation to keep the era of dreams alive.

I expect in the end that Luffy's going to give himself willingly over to Coby in order to do this by going out the way Gold Roger did. Along with Luffy saying something along the lines of "One Piece is out there I've seen it. If you want it then entrust your heart, believe in your nakama, and go out into the world to find it." At his own execution

Sure it ends on a sad note I guess, but I think that it would be better than just ending it where they sail off into the sunset to a new adventure.

In regards to the Luffy vs Koby and Zoro vs Helmeppo. I can really imagine Luffy and Zoro stepping up onto the steps of the WG and seeing Koby and Helmeppo standing there with grim expressions then saying some strange thing like Koby saying thta he looked up to Luffy in some way and then goes to attack. Dramatic haha

this reminds me of something i thought of recently,(dont know if someone already thought of it, or if im pointing out the obvious) that when word of this gets to shanks, he will attack/go to war with wb. if one dies, especially shanks(because this would make wb a true enemy in luffy's eyes instead of an obsticle)but would throw everything out of balance causing chaos.
this would also thin out the story lengthwise, being luffy won't fight every warlord,admiral, etc introduced or otherwise and would also give them a better chance in the new world (they kind of had a hard time with the buster call fleet,comparing to what is implied of the 4 emperors crews.) because everyone will be exploiting this tilt it power. i apologize for the length and if it was already posted.

Alright, so I don't think Brooke will join the crew. I haven't since he first appeared. So yesterday, I thought, what if Brooke gave Zoro his sword? It seems plausible to me.

About those claiming Luffy will be executed:
It was said many time before, like that - Doesn't that mean the corrupt Govt. is still alive and healthy? Didn't they declare war against it? That means they lost.
Luffy's only way to surpass Roger is not getting executed. =D

This isn't, per se, a theory, but somehow I just realized something. Follow my stream of consciousness to see how:

-Gecko Moria is the "shadow stealer", with the ability to control shadows physically.
-The Japanese word for "shadow" is "kage".
-"Kage" is a section of the word "Tokage", the Japanese word for "lizard".
-A gecko is a kind of lizard.

Thus, in an extremely roundabout way, I figured that Moria has a lizard connection due to the "kage" -> "tokage" connection.

Yes, I know its lame, but its still a theory that doesn't deserve a thread…thus why its here.

Pretty much. Its just a silly theory that tries to reason the wordplay between "kage" (shadow) and "tokage" (lizard) and why his "animal" is a gecko. (since all of the Shichibukai have an animal in their names)

Alright, this is relating to the whole "D" topic, but didn't feel a new thread was necessary.

We know that every D shown so far is smiling right before they die, and how Smoker is startled to see Luffy doing the same thing before he thought he would be executed.

Now, I'm not quite sure why he makes a big deal out of this; I can recall a few other other people that were smiling before they died.

Dr. Hiluluk: Made a speech before he drank some explosives, smiling.
Bellemere: Told Nami and Nojiko that she loved them, grinning before she was shot.
Zoro: Smirked, turning around to face Mihawk- believing he would give him the fatal blow.
I know there are a couple more, but can't recall them right now.

Maybe they were all smiling for different reasons, but were they not all grinning in the face of death?
I just felt I needed to hear some thoughts on this.

Here's an interesting theory. In the Sea Train arc, where Sanji is fighting Wanze, Wanze talks about how 'even my dad wouldn't say that to me'.

Mmm, enlightenment? Isn't that a tad bit religious for OP's themes? I'm familiar with the idea of One Piece not being something tangible, but… I dunno. I don't really like that so much.

Sure it ends on a sad note I guess, but I think that it would be better than just ending it where they sail off into the sunset to a new adventure.

I disagree, sailing off into the sunset might be better than that. D: I don't have too much of a problem with the idea of Luffy dying at the end in the same way Roger did, but I think whatever Oda has in store for us in the end HAS to be something crazyamazing that ties the whole story together.

I dunno, but I see lots of Luffy character development before we get to the end :3

I think that the theme of keeping dreams alive will occur during a Don Flamingo Arc. Since he is the main contender against Dreams. Once Luffy deals with him Luffy will, in essence, be keeping the era of dreams alive.

One piece will be somehow related to the void century and the civilization that was destroyed. Obviously Roger, or someone on his crew, could read the Poneglyphs so we can assume that he had learned the true history. Which basically means that he would have discovered the true intentions behind the world government, and would have wanted to rid the world of it. But for some odd reason he wasn't able at that time. Maybe like the world wasn't ready for it. Whatever the reason he could not act upon it, so he decided to ecourage more people to go after it hoping that the one who finds One piece will also uncover the truth.
I think that One piece is like the guide to the wealth and power of the ancient civilzation. May be Roger could get it, but knew that others might.

So going off of this, Luffy will find One piece realizing it is access to the wealth and power of the old civilzation and the truth about the world government. He decides to take down the world Gov, and convices other people to follow. A giant war ensues, leading to Luffy's victory and the abolishment of the world gov and the reestablishment of the old Civ.

On the side note: Wouldn't shanks know about skypia since he was on Roger's crew???????:wassat:

As dumb as this could be, I would like somehow that his true form (if that "body" really isn't what we think) to be some sort of lizard-man…not a lizard DF user (since he already has shadow powers and we know what happens when two DF meet inside one person...boom), just a lizard man or like a lizard who controls him from a setup around a control center in his brain. Okay, how about this:

An island was stolen from the Grand Line. Yes, you heard me. The reason no one can reach Raftel is because the island prior to it was stolen. Whitebeard and everyone else is seeking this island or at least a piece of it so the Log pose can set and everyone can reach Raftel.

That's the thing, the logpose wouldn't. The log pose works by having the magnetic fields of the island they're on and the island they came from on the same wavelength, which fixes it in a set direction to the island they're going to. But if there's no island there, then the logpose would never set at the previous island because there's no magnetic field being generated.

One Piece could be an actual piece of this island that Roger found and used to control traffic to Raftel. When put in place, it allows the log pose to set, then when reaching that chunk of land, allows it to set to Raftel.

Pretty simple.

That was because it went into range of the log pose. If the island fragments stayed out of range, then no one could have their log pose lock onto them. It would have to be returned to a suitable range in order for the log pose to acquire it.

I don't actually think that the log pose set in Skypeia; no mention was made of it that I can recall. Rather, I think it set in Jaya and then after Skypeia, they followed the predetermined path from Jaya to Longringlongland. It only briefly caught onto Skypeia, and when Robin told them about the cloud on which Skypeia floated, then they had something with which to track it.

I remember them mentioning that, but after that, they didn't mention if it did or not. Nor did they mention it setting in Skypeia. The next time they mentioned the Log Pose was Longringlongland when Tonjit was explaining his situation and they asked if he could sail to the other parts of the island and he explained that the log pose treats it all as one island.

because as far as i recall they didnt know how to get to Jaya untill someone showed the eternal logpose he stole from the monkey salvager so it cant have changed after they arrived to Jaya.

No, my thinking is that it locked onto that island Buggy was on initially (which was nearby, I believe), but then The cloud (forget its name) flew over them and so the logpose switched to Skypeia, but then they went to Jaya, where it locked onto Longringlongland. I know it's silly, but I think if it had locked on in Skypeia, it'd point to another Sky Island.

they were on the upper yard when the log set werent they? that means it is "previous Jaya-Longring island" magnetic field.

and the logpose was pointing to skypiea when Zoro and Lufy was getting beat up in the bar, (Nami makes a mention of "look where our logpose is pointing, there must be an island up there") it was not set on for Jaya and it was not set on for Longring island.

it was never set on for Jaya in the blue sea. allways for the part in the sky.

(btw why would the logpose change just because an island passes over them? iirc it has allways taken a few days situated on the island for a logpose to change. and all those kilometers is too much distance to have an overwhelming magnetic affect on the logpose)

Well, the cloud land, more or less, would have to be able to react to the log pose. Otherwise, there'd be no way to navigate the White-white sea, unless a normal compass worked up there.

They ceased to mention log poses or Compasses of any kind while in the white-white sea. Wonder why.

Yes, but not in the WHITE-White sea. They don't mention it at all. In fact, they don't mention it until their discussion with Tonjit.

But since they still talk about it pointing up and that that must mean that the island is still above them, it must mean that atleast the characters of OP has the impression that the logpose is pointing TO the island rather then FROM the last one.

(seems it is pointing into the cloud island and they are welcomed to "skypiea" which they belive is the name of the island the logpose is pointing to. There is no real reason for them to consult the logpose anymore in the white white sea since they think they have reached their intended goal and they quickly get other problems)

Okay, I understand what you're saying, but I don't think you understand what I'm getting at.

Jaya and Upper Yard were the same island at one point. Therefore, at one point in time, they set the log pose to the same island on the Grand Line (most likely Longringlongland).

The log pose reacts to the closest island from its current location and locks to that position. That's because the island closest to the current island has the strongest magnetic pull. I don't believe that the "split" of the island created a duality, but rather both halves still point to the same point.

I retract my statement about the log pose having pointed to Skull island. I still believe it pointed to Jaya, but as the cloud passed over them, the needle shifted to Upper Yard, simply because:

A. They're the same island

B. Because Upper Yard was closer to them than Jaya, the log pose would fix itself to the Upper Yard portion.

Regardless of the current duality, they at one point still pointed to the same island, and I think they still do.

They're still the same island, first of all. Split or not, they originally pointed to the same island. Their duality now shouldn't change that.

Second, before I continue, it's 10,000 meters, not 10,000 Kilometers. 10,000 kilometers would be somewhere way out in space.

Third, I don't recall them mentioning the log pose while ON Jaya, but I'll check it. But like I said, they're the same island, so if the Log pose locked onto Upper Yard, it's the same as if it was pointing to Jaya.

Lastly, it was originally pointing elsewhere, probably to Jaya. That's why Nami freaked out when the Log Pose started suddenly pointing upward.

I'm not going to speculate on the duality of the island (we dont know enough about the mechanics behind the logpose or the physical laws dictateing the magnetic fields in GL to do that), but to me the logpose treats them as two different islands. After the galloen fell it hasnt pointed to Jaya once.

If Jaya and the part of it that's in the sky shared the same magnetic field, wouldn't the Eternal pose they got from Masira pointed to the sky?

And since there are Eternal Poses that can point to the island no matter where they are, I don't think the "lost island before Raftel" could be so far away it didn't get picked by the Log Pose.

upon reading back i come to the conclusion that i may have read your posts (early in the missing islanddiscussion) a little bit to quick and responded to them before i fully understood them. I will try to read your posts a little bit more carefull next time ^^

It does not however change my arguments as to why i dont belive in the missing island theory. From what we learned from the Jaya-Skypiea arc the log-pose should still IMO be able to find that missing island if it is originally a part of the GL (and if it is not it should probably not be affecting the logpose anyway).

Just like Blackbeard knew about what his DF would do, did Shanks also knew about the gomu gomu no fruit and wanted to eat it? I'm guessing it has insane unkown powers that later on shanks will tell Luffy about (maybe when overpowered by blackbeard and being Luffy the only hope).

to sum up shanks wanted the gomu gomu fruit to himself but luffy ate it so thats the reason why he keeps his hopes up about him (also Luffy's determination :) ) and keeps mentioning the new era even when whitebeard asks him why did he lose his arm…

maybe I'm just going a long way about this

They never said what exactly Shanks wanted to do with the Gomu-Gomu fruit. It is obvious that Shanks knew what these fruit did (seeing how he was around when Buggy ate his) as well as the high amount people buy the fruits for. But unfortunately we may never know.

I have a theory about Moria and his crew and isn´t other that they are 2 crews, one is the true one and the other is the fake one.

Strawhats have found the fake one, the reason is that the true one was defeated by the Kaidou, one of the four emperors, and this true one Moria and his crew are more weaker than the originals and every time that the zombies are defeated the true Moria and the Hogbacks (the true and the false) resurrect the crew making it an undead crew that cannot be defeated until the true crew is outed.
