I suppose so, I just meant someone more speacialized in such a thing, like a hunter/tracker person, someone who can help keep them out of trouble for once, Usopp seems to get them in more than out. (Don't get me wrong, I still like Usopp)

That would be interesting to see; especially if Oda could make it so the character doesn't scream villian. Plus I don't recollect any of the zoans being from the reptile class. They've have either been in the class of birds or mammals (mainly four legged in which Chopper I believe is the only exception so far). If you wish to correct me, go ahead. I don't mind being wrong.

I have a funny theory about who should join, but I'm not sure if even this person will, or if this person even exists. As for the next person to join, I think it would be a weapon smith, cuz that would rock. Make a new sword for Zoro (god forbid if he doesn't take the one from Ryumma) some fighting boots/shoes for Sanji, and some more cool stuff for everyone else xD.Anyway, one theory I had for a future character was when Kobi was talking about that one Scientist the Marines have, it really got Nami's interest and it would play up really well if the SH had an upper hand on some of the tech stuff that allot of the Marines have. Anyway, it would be cool if said Scientist had an understudy, or an apprentice that secretly wanted to travel the seas after being cooped up for so long as the apprentice. Just go ahead and bring some of the knowledge along with so they could be all tricked out and stuff in the new world… But it's just a theory... and a horribly spelled one xD

think Franky assumed position of weapon smith didnt he? i recall him saying something along the lines "come to me for all your weapon needs". perhaps that was just meant for the ship though? still could probably transfer to the personal arms as well.
wish for smoker to join is noted. but the impression i got is that it is unlikely.

People have been hypothesizing about having a scout/lookout, I think Smoker could fill that position.

Oh, I forgot about that… heh I thought he was just the carpenter. Well... if you look at what Franky said, you can say the same for Ussop and Nami's weapons. I mean Ussop beefed up both his and Nami's weapons, so you could techniclly classify him as a "weaponsmith" but I wouldn't really look at them as one. When I say weaponsmith, I mean big anvil, lot's o heat, and clanging. For steel objects xD

As for smoker joining, yeah that would be awsome. I kinda doupt it though. I don't think his way of thinking puts him in that spot. -

Hmm, that got me thinking though, I looked at some of the posts after your theory and I do have an idea. But before that, Yeah, you are right xD It will happen, but some time after merman island. I don't think Oda would jump into that so soon. I mean Smoker joining could be a fantastic arc. As for the reason why he would join, is what one of the posts after your's said. Smoker wouldn't join because of Marine Justice. What could drive a man with that sense of Justice to turn? Something breaking his sense of Justice. Something would happen so horrible, so unlawful or just so sickening that his Marine Justice would be flushed right down the toilet. So it could be something that happens to his friend… Keep forgetting her name, Ms.Swordlady because of what happened awhile ago in Alabastar when she let the SH go and it could be lead to be tretcherous. That or some horrible Marine secret. But yeah it is a fabulous idea.

I still got a problem with logia joining. if nothing else his fights would probably become kinda repetetive unless the stronger enemies come up with some way to fight logias without seastone, water or their natural weakness.

I'm kind of hoping the crew ends with Brook, for a couple reasons.

It'd be a nice bookend, since ''Musician'' was one of the first positions Luffy wanted filled, and the idea of Luffy wanting a Musician before all the other essential jobs became a sort of running joke.

Nine central characters is a lot to take care of. Even having one somewhat unused character is cause for many a complaint from fans. Just look at poor Usopp, who hadn't had a single fight since Arlong Park.

Fun yes, but I don't think Oda would a crew of noname underlings under someone like Ruffy, who deeply cares for his nakama and would at least ask them for their names ;)

I think that the kung fu dugan would be a great group of nakama, there as strong as marines, and cool.
I wish wiper would have joined them, he could've beat up bluno, imagine him during the raid oof enies lobby. Shooting everywhere. Almost as cool as the kung fu dugan would have been.

Johnny and Yosaku, Wiper, Gaimon, Bon Clay, Conis, Vivi and more, a lot of people could have joined but it would have made One Piece a different manga. I could see it suffer from something Naruto is having trouble with, too many characters. The Straw-Hats would have been a "real" pirate crew but character development and fights would have been a lot more sloppy.

I totally wanted them too, I think I would have expected them joining, but when I read the east bluse saga I was watching the alabasta arc so I knew it wouldn't happen. That's why I like reading the new chapters so I can have hopes.

It would be kinda fun to have more than 10 crewmates, it would be hard to keep up with each one, but hey Oda is that kinda man. He can do it!
Also, I agree with you now Gorlom, those two are practiclly weaponsmiths. But yeah, I only see more crewmates coming if they have the same dream and lust for adventure type stuff. -
i'm hoping a jack sparrow type of a guy joins the crew. you know somebody that goes out and kills his enemy and then get's laid. the strawhats need a true ladies man so he can drive sanji crazy.

And why sit in a wheel chair when you could have a wheeley-aquarium? Jetpacks are just that bit too advanced for OP, don't you think? And btw, Sodom and Gomorrah had to be put on wheels, and they moved slowly on land.

The idea of having a weaponsmith may be possible. But isnt it cool if they would have a new member who uses a devil fruit "weapon"? such as lasso (gun-dog) or spandam's elephant sword?

I doubt Ace will join the crew unless something happens to Whitebeard. Even then it's more likely that Ace will start his own pirate crew and be Luffy's rival.
