Tekken 6 (Orochi Rock Howard!)
-
-
Everything on youtube's the same one: filmed on a camera.
Still, it looks cool despite there not being any gameplay clips.
-
Always ready to play some Tekken (even tho I suck at it). Not sold on the new characters yet so I hope they have interesting fighting styles.
Also, some people translated the end part of the trailer, so it would seem that there are other new character on the way. So those aren't the only 2 new characters.
Oh almost forgot, Brian w/ Shotgun = Cosmic
Here's a clear version of Tekken 6 Trailer w/ Actual Gameplay
-
As usual the gameplay is looking ace, but what about the graphics?
They don't look all that do they?
-
Nah, the graphics ain't impressive to me. But this is probably still an early version. By the time the real deal comes out, it'll probably look far better.
Any release dates for any system/arcade?
-
Cheng SinZan rip-off if I ever saw one!
Now mind u I have nothing against 'fat' characters, but I just can't get the idea that he's a rip-off until I try him out…if ever. -
Bob looks insanely awesome, and he's pretty much the only thing so far that has made me interested in Tekken 6. Now I want to play it. His background sounds funny too. He looks like a fun character all around, and it's nice to see that Tekken will still has a sense of humor (all the shots of BADASS JIN!!! and the lame looking new characters made me worried).
And it's not like Cheng was the first ever fat character.
-
My favorite new character in Tekken 6 is Bob XD it would be great to play him
-
Haha, wow. Bob looks like the best new thing to come out of Tekken in a long time.
-
Just the very concept of Bob is probably the most original idea I've seen in a fighting game since X-Men VS Street Fighter.
Brian with shotgun indeed.
-
Does Bryan Fury really have a shotgun? I'm a huge fan of his character so that sounds awesome.
There's some speculation that Bob is the "Mokujin" of the game… it kind of makes sense, but I really hope he has his own style and I'll be a bit disapponited if he's just a "random character." Regardless, he's probably the best new character in Tekken in a while (though honestly I always thought Dragunov looked kind of sweet) and he'll be fun to play as.
-
Nah, it's too good of an idea to waste on a 'mokujin'. Plus some of those screenshots look like he's actually using his weight to his advantage which seems original.
Yes, Bryan has a shotgun, he whips it out to finish a combo. Shoots his opponent after they've been knocked into the air.
I just wish they'd make Yoshimitsu a character worth playing.
-
That was my thought too. I don't think any other character in the Tekken world has utilized the dreaded "belly bump" technique. And he's too brilliant to be wasted as a Mokujin character anyway- plus, what's wrong with Mokujin coming back? I love that guy! Combot was OK, but Mokujin coming back in T5 was a great.
Yeah! Yoshimitsu's always been one of my favorite characters personality-wise, but… he's just so boring and annoying to play as. It's weird because in Soul Calibur he's actually a lot of fun to play as... probably because as that game is weapons-oriented, his character and style fit in much better.
It'll never happen, but I want to see Gon again, especially since I'm a big fan of his manga.
-
he's just so boring and annoying to play as.
YES.
Yoshimitsu is easily the biggest let-down because in addition to being terribly funny despite his appearance in almost every game and wielding very nice swords, the first time anyone goes to play him and pushes the punch button they expect a swinging of that beautiful sword not, 'Light Jab'.
I understand that if you 'master' him yes you can do crazy shit but that's only for Japanese munchkins with too much free time on their hands. It would be nice if they made an exception for him in the game which obviously is all about hand to hand combat but still…
I think the character I'd like to see more than anyone is The Prince.
-
Fat version of Paul?
-
Oh hey Greg.
There's this other scan with screens of Bob:

Anything revealing about his character, or is it just his bio?
edit: ok I'm fairly sure the stuff in the lower left is his bio, which was already posted on the site. So anything in the captions?
-
So, Bob is an actual real character. Damn, I thought the scan was a hoax or something. Even tho I think he sucks at the moment, he doesn't looks so bad on the in-game screenshots. Hope he has an interesting fighting style and personality to off-set his genericness.
EDIT: Found this:
Bob,
Known as martial arts genius, with his toned body and handsome face he was very popular. However when he was unable to beat opponents who were larger than he was, Bob became determined to engineer his body to increase power and weight while maintaining speed. For this reason, Bob disappears from the fighting world.
A few years later after completing his body engineering… Everyone around him is shocked at his appearance! Although people are not taking Bob seriously anymore, he is confident about his new found strength. To test his new found power he enters The King of Iron Fist Tournament 6. -
I don't play Tekken, but Bob's backstory is great.
-
Yeah, that's his backstory as posted on that site (and it's in that scan I mentioned). And yeah, it's utterly ingenius.
Much better than the other new guys they're bringing in this time. God damn they're bland.
-
I hear he's based of of a deceased Dutch filmer named Leo van Goh or something. Don't remember the first name. But I saw the pick, and Bob and Goh look exactly the same.
-
Anything revealing about his character, or is it just his bio?
Talks mostly about the stages and comments on how he uses his stomach for the attack questioning, "Can we expect more comical attacks of this style from the 'perfect body'?"
Nothing really interesting about he himself though. But seems safe to assume he isn't a mokujin.
-
Whenever I look at those screenshots, old Meat Loaf songs start running through my head, which for me is just fine.
-
I just can't get Chris Farley to stop yelling in my head when I look at him.
Can't way to play as him though.(oh wait, this is on PS3, so yes I will)
-

Mind u that's just my current first impression, I might like him a lot after seeing how he plays
-
Filler. -
That intro was awesome,Is that Bird thing the new boss?
-
The more I see Bob, the more I love him and get excited about the game.
I thought he couldn't get any better, but he looked completely bad ass in that intro video, and that costume in that match vid near the end… god.
And it does look like he's NOT a "Mokujin," though I figured before it's a big relief.
-
He's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack. I miss ComBot. -
didn't ogre appearer in one of the videos…or was that just me high?
-
To be honest, I could care less about Mokujin, or Combot. Just give us back Gon!!
He could easily own every other character in Tekken 3
-
@Freeman-12:
! He's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.
Aw shit!
I love that guy! -
A new Tekken? Yes! I love this series! I too think Bob is a great character. Fat-ass FTW! We still get to play as Mokujin, Kuma, and Panda too! And my beloved Christie is back!
Edit: Nevermind, I see Jack 6! Yay! Cheapness reigns supreme! :D
-

Isn't that cuz he CAN? …but I hear ya I hope they consider bringing Gon back he was my fav. addition to Tekken ever.
-
There's probably too many licensing issues involved for Gon to show up again, sad to say.
And Mokujin is fucking metal. I love how I'm about 90% sure that's the same render from Tekken 5 (though he's a goddamn wood dummy so it's likely there just isn't much more to add to him"
-
Hopefully we'll get some great endings too. Tekken usually has awesome ones. Like Asuka, Jin, and Raven from Tekken 5.
Edit: Hah… Does anybody remember Ling's from Tekken 3? :s
nlY2CP8ebiU
I totally wasn't prepared for that when I first saw it…
Anyway, why are the new Tekkens always followed by a new Soul Caliber later in the year?
Is this part of Namco's "genius planning"?
