I voted moderate, because I believe I am a little of both. I don't know if that makes me a moderate or not. Mainly when it comes to moral issues, I am a conservative. This clashes though when it comes to my political beliefs, because I do not believe the government should have a say in the day to day life of it's citizens.
Liberal or Conservative?

If you were to support half the ideals of each group, then it would probably boil down to whoever you liked more or felt would do a better job in office. That or whatever side had the issue you cared more for.
I had a feeling you'd look at it that way, and for some reason it sadden's me.

I don't see any other way of viewing it, enlighten me.

If anyone starts fighting, the thread's getting closed and warnings/strikes will be issued. The end.

Nothing makes you more concerned the world is insane than a good political discussion on campus.
So much truth in one sentence.

Out of curiosity, was the squable earlier considered a fight? It seemed borderline, but I believe we kept it civil for the most part.
Edit: I just wanted to know what my boundaries/limits were in discussions like this where I bound to get heated up.

According to the poll, no one is a centrist. I suppose that's good.

If it had been and out and out fight I would have closed the thread. It got close, but I feel it did stay civil enough to keep things open provided it didn't keep going. Just please try to remember that everyone is entitled to their opinion, you're most likely not going to change their mind any more than they're going to change yours, and take a step back to breathe and calm down if you feel yourself getting too overheated. I've been in my share of online political battles over the years (which is a very large part of the reason I don't do them anymore), so believe me, I know how easy it is to get sucked in and lose your sense of perspective for the sake of trying to prove you're right. Everyone just needs to try and keep a cool head a civil discussion, and if they don't, the thread goes bye-bye.

you know threatening members is a much better way to get topics closed than a couple random flames

the reason that comment saddened me Anbu is that your basically suggesting that I undercut half of my beliefs.

But please don't fight in this topic.

You could also just not vote, and then sit back and complain as half of your policies are passed, and then rejoice as the other half gets passed.
I don't see how I am suggesting anything to you, you asked a question that seeked answers, and I responded. The choices are limited.
1. Vote for the person you like more.
2. Vote for the person you feel will do a better job in office.
3. Vote for the person you like the least.
4. Vote on someone random because you can't decide, thus effectively wasting a vote, which leads to…
5. Don't vote.Of course, you could always just move away too. Maybe I'm missing something, but there aren't too many routes. Just become a politician and have a real say in it.
