But it's Blackbeard who will be the main villian because he is most similar and different than Luffy. It's hard to explain that.

But IMO, Blackbeard will surpass Whitebeard, thus surpass Shanks. Blackbeard, now he has injured or even killed Ace, is going to get his ass kicked by Luffy vengeance style.

The cherry pie incident was a great way to start a rivalry between two of the greatest pirates in the OP world.

A villian = evil.

Evil vs good = Best possible fight.

Blackbeard (Evil) vs Luffy (Good) = OMFG SUPER EXCELLENT EXCITING BURNING INTENSE BATTLE WHOMG!!!!

I agree with the people who have been saying that they are no where near coming upon the final villain. They still haven't reached the "New World" And if Franky just joined (and maybe Brook) they have to have a lot more adventures. Luffy said he wanted a crew of about 10 in the beginning right? With Brook he'd have his musician and all the neccissary elements of a crew. And if you think about it there's those characters Oda lets sneak up on you. Like that dude who melted Zorro's sword. And all those crazy guys. They have to fight Smoker and Ao Kiji. They have to bettle the world government and figure out who they came into power, since they're hiding secrets. Maybe Chopper's bounty will go up, if Brook joins he'll probably get a bounty too. Oda will whip out some wierd obscure character that we forgot all about and then they'll wreak havoc on everything. They need to find the Rio Poneglyph and All Blue. Black Beard is probably in another arc waiting to happen. There's Mihwak and the other Shichibukai too as well as the four leaders in the pirate thing, I guess Shanks, White Beard, and is Blackbeard included? I don't think so because it seems he just started his crew. I'm excited I hope One Piece goes on for years more. I love the series and it's awesome reading it. Who knows maybe the ultimate villain is guarding the One Piece or the One Piece itself. You have to fight and beat it to prove you're the pirate king. Maybe something like that. Sorry to prattle but I'm just really excited about the series and I hope it goes on for much longer.

I hope this shows how meaningless your post was. And Oda favours BB, so I can only suspect that he will make Luffy and BB fight at the very end. BB's plan has been revealed, whereas Shanks' path and future plans for finding One Piece haven't even been mentioned. Blackbeard also had a brilliant meeting with Luffy in Jaya. Both BB and Luffy are coming up in the OP world so it is best fitting that evil vs good, two similar yet different characters who are getting stronger and stronger, meet at the end for the final battle. We don't want no stupid battle where Luffy and Shanks are smiling all the way through. We want some evil twists.

The main villian is yet to come? I doubt Oda would introduce the main villian this late in the series. Luffy and Blackbeard are perfect villains, in my opinion. Here's why;

• Luffy and Blackbeard have already met. They faught over something stupid (cherry pie and meat), but if Blackbeard is the main villian, they'll be fighting over the greatest treasure of all, One Piece. That's a very clever and funny twist to things.

• Blackbeard and Luffy have been portrayed as similar (loud, competetive, wide grins, funny) yet different at the same time (the opinions they had on the drinks and cherry pie). They fit perfectly. Others are similar to Luffy, but Oda portrayed the similarities and differences between Blackbeard and Luffy cleverly.

• Oda has gone out of his way to create manga chapters based on the main charaters, besides the SH crew. Most of these scenes have been about Blackbeard; (Shichibukai meeting, Shanks and Whitebeard fighting, Ace vs Blackbeard). This shows the importance of Blackbeard.

• Shanks, a very powerful Yonkou, had a meeting with Whitebeard, the strongest man in the world, about Blackbeard. This shows his importance in the OP story. (Relates to above, but I thought I'd have a seperate paragraph for this).

• Luffy and Blackbeard both have small, yet powerful crews. These crews seem perfectly fit to battle each other e.g. Sogeking and the Sniper!

• Blackbeard knew that 30m was a small bounty for Luffy, which means that Blackbeard has a clear understanding of Luffy. Luffy, after the great speech Blackbeard gave, stood and stared at him, as if he knew that Blackbeard was very powerful and dangerous. The understanding between the two is highly interesting.

• Blackbeard is young (compared to other strong pirates so far), getting powerful quickly and is after One Piece (even has a plan Oda has explained to us). Luffy is the same.

• Blackbeard possess the Darkness Fruit; which is said to be the darkest fruit out there. Seems perfect for the main VILLIAN.

• Luffy and Blackbeard both have the initial "D", showing a very likely connection between the two. These two D's are the only ones after One Piece.

• Blackbeard (Edward Teach), the real pirate of reality, is probably the most recognised thus famous pirate today. Oda chose Blackbeard to share his name. Shows Blackbeard's importance yet again.

• It's only fitting that an evil PIRATE fights a good PIRATE (good pirate vs evil pirate) at the end.

• Blackbeard has most likely killed or badly injured Ace. This may spark an instant rivalry (in terms of hate) on Luffy's side, because if Luffy finds out… he'll be pissed.

• Blackbeard is Oda's favorite villian. I expect a lot from Blackbeard (main villian!!).

• Blackbeard's journey and a bit of backgroundis being described in odd chapters by Oda. His crew were introduced one at a time (showing importance yet AGAIN). Oda is building Blackbeard up more than other main characters at the moment. And it seems a perfect time to do so.
