I recieved a dvd box with the whole sries and I liked it alot…
But as I see it(I looked at yahoo search and I saw nothing about Ippo)
Ippo doesnt even exist to us...
My question, does anyone here know Makunochi Ippo????

It just so happens that I'm watching this series right now. As far as I'm concerned it's a classic, the humor, characters and fight scenes are all very believable.
Takamura is my favourite character at present.

and ippo exists to us in the usa, its called fighting spirit though :lol:

HnI is one of my alltime favourites, enjoy the anime! But make sure to take a lookie at the manga afterwards, it continues where the anime ends.

i love love love this series and say it everytime it is mentioned. Greatest manga ever imho especially with such epic fights suck as Takamura vs. Hawk and Ippo vs. Sendo 2. Also, i second westbounds suggestion because his forum is the best forum for ippo discussion because the people who go to the snoopycool forums (the guys who actually scanlate it) tend to be bitches

If the rumours of the second season are false, which I lean towards thinking they are, I at least pray they make an OAV from Taka vs Hawk… or maybe Miyata's fight. That would be freaking great.

yeah the anime is excellent, i'm just finished with ep 44, but i can't seriously start the manga (isn't there something like 64 volumes right now?)

72 volumes, 51 translated. Don't worry about its length, though.

Indeed, it's well worth the read. Ippo just seems to get better and better after each volume.
Besides, after you finish the anime, you can start the manga at around volume 34. The anime is pretty much exactly the same as the first 33 volumes.
