Chapter One-Hundred-Fifty-Five: It Set the World in Motion Part 2
"What are they doing?" muttered Mugiwara.
The scene was a rather tall grassy hill overlooking the kingdom. At the top of the hill sat Surua, the King, and Shirai, a young woman Surua had been meeting with for the last few weeks. Mugiwara had always come along as a guard, watching over the two.
Along with Mugiwara, a second guard was also placed. "You're really a numb-skull," muttered the other guard, looking away. "It's obvious they like each other, isn't it?"
Mugiwara turned back, watching them with a frown. Liking someone was something his simplistic mind could just not comprehend. He sighed, turning away as well. "I wonder how this will affect things.."
"We'll be getting a queen, obviously," responded the other guard.
Mugiwara looked at him, thinking about it. "A queen, huh? That's gonna be interesting for sure. Hehehe."
A sudden breeze came over, causing Mugiwara's straw hat to fly off his head. Mugiwara quickly jumped up, grabbing it and pushing it back on his head. "Woo."
The other guard looked at him with a raised eyebrow. It was really strange that such a guy became one of the seven great guards of the king. "You sure are strange," he muttered. "And what's up with that straw hat exactly?"
Mugiwara looked at the guard with a big smile, taking it off his head and holding it in his hands. "It's from my grand father," said Mugiwara. "He told me a legend about it one day. It's said that this hat has been worn by all the great and strong leaders of the entire world. Really, it's like a symbol for adventure and freedom!"
The guard sighed, turning away. "You can't really believe that? It's just a straw hat. Your grand father probably made it himself."
"Probably," responded Mugiwara. "But the legend isn't what's important. It's what it stands for, right? Hehe."
Far away, in a rather large forest, sat a man with another yellow straw hat on his head. He sighed, putting his cloak over his shoulder. He stood up, looking around. It was Ko.
"This forest.. It surely ends eventually. I need to find those called humans. They're the ones I want revenge on."
Ko quickly took off, running through the forest at amazing speeds. Twigs and leaves flew up around him as he dashed onwards.
A day passed.
"A stream," muttered Ko, resting along a small stream. He looked into the clear waters to see a few small fish swimming about. He smiled, looking down stream. "If I follow this," he said, "I'll be sure to come across some kind of town!"
Ko suddenly spun around, lifting his hands, hearing a sound. There, just down the stream, stood two people. One wore a purple straw hat and wore a severely ripped cloak. A devilish smile full of sharp teeth shown bright as he looked down at Ko. At his side was a small girl wearing only a white dress. She frowned, seeing Ko.
"Humans?" muttered Ko to himself. He smiled. Finally, the first victims of his revenge. "You'll both die now!" Ko ripped his hands across the air, ready to rip the two people out of existence. Just as he did, however, the man with the purple straw hat lifted out his own hand, canceling the attack.
"What the.." started Ko, not understanding.
"No more attacking," called out the purple straw hat man. "Allow me to introduce us. My name is Mugiwara D. Era. Here, at my side is my little Wonder, Kiss."
Ko frowned. "Not humans… Then what the hell are you?"
Era chuckled. "Well, you see, Kiss here is no human. She's an Akuma, just like you are. She escaped the your world not long ago, along with an Akuma named Quia. I, however, am a human."
Ko didn't get it at all. "If that's the case... then how am I not able to kill you both?"
"You understand nothing," said Era. "Listen. You want to find humans, correct? Well, you're much too far off to ever come across a human any time soon. I will take you there instantly, if you do just one thing for me."
Ko stepped back, not sure to trust this stranger. "What is it I have to do?"
"Become my Wonder," said Era. "Simply that. By becoming my Wonder, I'll request you to do just one thing for me."
"And that would be?" asked Ko.
"Kill a certain human for me," Era smiled. "A one named Monkey D. Mugiwara."
Ko laughed suddenly. He grinned brightly, his green eyes shining. "Is that all? That's why I came here in the first place! To kill these damn humans! I will become you Wonder."
"Very good."
Ko had vanished, with a new set of hands, straight to Mariejoa. Left by the stream was Era and Kiss.
"He's the second," muttered Kiss, half closing her eyes and walking through a stream. She was still very young, so she enjoyed playing, like most children. "But I'm still the first, right?"
Era chuckled. "Of course, Kiss."
"Hey, Era," muttered Kiss. "I have some questions for you... About that guy. Ko? You killed his family, didn't you?"
Era was silent a moment, not looking at Kiss. His eyes closed as he recalled the time. He had possessed Ira, Ko's father, and commanded him to kill his wife and children, sparing only Ko. Ira did so, believing he was doing it on his own.
"That's right," said Era. "All according to plans."
"What are those plans?" said Kiss, looking down at the fish as they swam around her ankles.
"I've told you already," said Era simply. "Ko is a very powerful Akuma. By building up this rage in his heart, I can control him. He'll be going to Mariejoa where he'll find my brother, Monkey D. Mugiwara. He'll kill him for me."
"He's not a good person?" asked Kiss, placing her foot over one of the fish, pinning it down to the bottom of the stream.
"Not at all," answered Era. "He took my place. He was seen as better than me. He was made into a Royal Guard, and one day will become the King, replacing Surua. I was pushed to the side like nothing.. He also took the straw hat from me."
Kiss pressed her foot against the fish, blood starting to rise. "What's up with that hat?"
"The first civilization of the world," said Era, turning towards Kiss, "Their King wore a straw hat. It's a symbol of power and control. Once that civilization faded away into the many there are now, the straw hat also lost it's significance. However, for those who remember that time and those who are still told the stories now the hat for it's power. It was passed down my entire family line, and was supposed to be mine. Instead, however, my grand father chose my younger brother."
"So you made your own?" asked Kiss, smiling.
"Hehe," muttered Era. "This purple one? That's right. It's mine until I get my hands on the original.
"Why don't you kill him and take it yourself?" asked Kiss.
"I told you, it's all part of a plan. Do you know the reason I have the powers I do? A very powerful person gave them to me, and asked me to fufill his plans. That's what I'm doing now. The world is broken apart. The land of Akuma and the Human World... They were separated a long time ago."
"Why? The Akuma aren't bad people..."
"Most of them are," said Era. "You see how Ko reacts. You saw how that world was. Akuma are evil, all of them, including you. Humans have the ability to see the good in everything, no matter how bleak a situation may look. They don't see the world as it is. They see the world as they hope it to look."
Era picked Kiss up, placing her out of the water. A dead fish lay on the bottom, being swept up by the current.
"Akuma are the humans who looked at the earth for what it was. They saw only the bleak darkness and suffering. They refuse to use their heart and see the possibilities the world truly holds and cower away in the earth."
A few fish followed the dead one, as if trying to understand it.
"The earth has a name, you know. It's Mattaki. It's the one who only sees those who have turned away from the foolish hope the humans see. The people who look only down at the earth, and not up at the free sky, have become Akuma. Mattaki wants to make everyone an Akuma, a savage brainless beast, so that he can control everything. When humans first emerged on this earth, it took away from Mattaki's control. The humans were full of free will and held no boundaries. They could do as they choose..."
Era sighed, sitting down along the stream. Kiss did as well, listening.
"Mattaki wants to control the entire world again. The only way he can do this is by getting rid of the humans, and turn them all into Akuma. However, the first King of the world saw this, and with his incredible power he separated existence into two separate worlds: The Human World and the Akuma World."
"Sooo," said Kiss. "Mattaki, the world, wants to be leader. To be leader, he has to make everyone into an Akuma. The first King separated the Humans from the Akuma so that Mattaki would never take over."
"That's right," said Era. "The first King hoped that by separating them, Mattaki wouldn't be able to sway the hearts of people any longer. He was right. No more Akuma were made when the worlds were separated."
"Then what's his plan now?" asked Kiss.
"Simple," said Era. "Destroy the stream that separates the Akuma World from the Human World. Once that is taken away, the two worlds will merge again and Akuma will surely take over. It will be then that Mattaki will regain complete control."
"Although Era is trying to find a way to merge the two worlds again, it's not working very well. Right now, he's been able to connect nature in the two worlds, mainly through a tree and fruit he calls Akuma no Mi. He wants to trick Akuma into touching the trees and becoming fruit. Fruit, since it's part of nature, can easily pass through the two worlds. Once it gets into the Human World and a Human eats it, it will be infected. Then, when that human dies, it will become an Akuma itself, locked in the Land of Akuma."
Era chuckled, patting Kiss on the head. "But you see, he's also got a better, sure fire way. You see, you're part of this amazing plan. The three of you, Quia, Ko, and Kiss, you're the first Akuma to break that boundary. By escaping the Akuma World and entering the Human world, you've weakened the stream."
"Amazing," chuckled Kiss, feeling somewhat proud. "So we just need more Akuma to break away to destroy the stream?"
Era shook his head. "No, I'm afraid. No matter how many Akuma come through, the boundary will never really break. Only a human can break it."
"Who?" asked Kiss, curious.
"Only a human who holds the blood of the first King, the one who created the stream and separated the worlds in the first place. That person would be the current king, Surua. He is the Final Piece. He will break the stream and make Mattaki King."
"Wooow," said Kiss, amazed. "Surua is a really important person.. But what's gonna make him want to break the stream and merge the worlds? He's related to the first King, so if anything he would only want to keep the worlds apart, right?"
"Exactly right," said Era, nodding. "However, I will change his mind. This is where Ko comes in again. He will kill my brother, giving me revenge, but he will also do something else. He will kill Surua's love, whoever that may be. Full of sadness and with a dark heart, I will appear to him. A promise, I shall make: 'I will bring your love back under one condition. You become my Wonder and do as I say'."
Kiss chuckled, understanding. "I see! So you'll just tell him to break apart the boundary and combine the worlds, right?"
"That's right," said Era. "Once that happens, the plan will end. Mattaki will be king, I will be second in command with a proper straw hat, and the world will return to it's natural form. There will be no more sky. No more hope or freedom. And all that has to be done is to kill one woman."
"One last thing.." started Kiss. "You lied to Ko, right? You will let me kill your brother, right? You said.. that if I did.. I wouldn't be a Wonder anymore... You'll keep that promise, right?"
Era nodded, turning away. "Of course. Kill my brother, and you'll be free. Ko will kill the woman. But why, Kiss, don't you want to be my Wonder?"
"I hate you," said Kiss, playing in the water. "You let me live.. and you let Chinchilla Brother live... but you took away everyones memories.. No one knows me anymore, and I was left all alone. Even though I'm young, I can see you were the cause of my sadness. I want free."
Era chuckled. "Right, I can understand. You're a smart little girl. Kill my brother and you will be free. Now.. let's go."
"King Surua!"
Surua walked into Mariejoa's throne room, sighing. Two of his guards quickly rushed to him. Surua looked up, frowning. "What's the problem?" He asked.
"You're the problem!" they shot back at him. "You're spending all your time with Miss Shirai and no time where it matters! Without a King, this world will crumble!"
Sura sighed, scratching his head. "Right.. Well.. what was I supposed to do today?"
"The blueprints," said a man walking into the room behind Surua.
Surua turned around, suddenly remembering. "O-Oh! Those.. Right.. How are they coming along?"
The man nodded, handing the blueprints to Surua. "The three weapons are all complete. They're ready to destroy the Akuma World."
Surua frowned, taking the blueprints in his hands. "Pluton, Posiedon, and Hades. So they're ready..."

Chapter One-Hundred-Fifty-Six: It Set The World In Motion Part 3
"So this is the place," chuckled Ko, taking a step forward. "Where my peace will start."
The scene appeared epic. A city like no other, bleached in silver and gold, towering over the surrounding lush forest, touching the skies. The morning in the sun at the horizon gleamed perfectly as to create the illusion of a thousand lights bouncing around the city, shining it up like never before. Mariejoa was the brilliant, peaceful star in the world that would soon rot away.
At the gates of this magnificent city stood a man cloaked in black. His black hair swayed slightly in the northern. Underneath his yellow straw hat sat his dismal, yet bright green eyes. A smile appeared on his face. Ko walked forward.
Two guards who stood watch at the opening of the city gates stood there ground as to not let Ko pass. "Welcome to Mariejoa," they both announced together. "Please state your name and reason."
Ko looked at them both smiling. "My name is Ko. My reason.."
Ko lifted a single hand and moved it in the air, ripping both them men's heads out of reality. As the two bodies fell to the ground, Ko continued onwards past the gates and into the bustling city.
"My reason is to kill your king."
As Ko walked through the city, he felt a feeling of horrible disgust. All around him were humans. Since Ko didn't know that it was Era who had killed his family, Ko put all the blame on the horrible humans, and now wanted them all dead.
Every turn he made, every smiling face he saw, it sickened him. Emotions began to boil up, and before he knew it, things were changing. Ko was sweeping his arms around in all directions. Although the motion seemed calming and smooth, the effects were horrible. All around, parts of people vanished into nothingness, leaving them all to die horribly.
Ko stood in a pile of bodies, laughing wildly. Survivors in the area began running towards the castle located in the center around, yelling and crying. Ko had made the first dent in the world which would lead to it's destruction.
Meanwhile, far off in the Royal Castle was Surua, his new wife, Shirai, two technicians, twelve royal guards, and five advisors. They all stood around a rather large table, other than the royal guards who stood alongside the walls. Upon the table was cluttered a rather large amount of papers. Some of them were old scripts, and others were blueprints.
"So this is it," muttered Surua, picking up the blueprints. "Pluton, the hovering laser ship… Poseidon, the underwater torpedo ship, and Hades, the land roving bomber. These are the three weapons you've created?" He looked in the direction of the two head technicians, both of who were part of the Sharp family.
"Yes, that's true," they said together. "Each one has great power and are unstoppable. The only thing that could possibly destroy them are themselves. They have the ability to destroy anything."
"Even the Akuma World?" asked Surua grimly.
After a short pause, the two technicians nodded.
"Very well," said Surua. "Both of you are excused. Leave me to the advisors." The two technicians quickly left the scene, leaving Surua and Shirai alone with the five advisors.
These advisors were rather strange men. Each one wore a black suit, had their hair combed perfectly, and seemed mature in every way possible. Even their faces didn't change from their stone cold seriousness. These advisors had been appointed to office by Surua himself. They had appeared out of his own city, and after showing remarkable political knowledge, Surua appointed them position of advisors.
"What do you think?" asked Surua to the advisors.
"All as planned," said a rather tall one. "The preparations have been completed. The only thing left to do is aim the weapons at the river in the southern regions and fire them. The combined forces should be enough to break through even the invisible wall that connects us the the World of Akuma, and destroy it completely."
Surua sighed and Shirai noticed. "Surua?" she muttered softly. "Are you sure this is okay?"
Surua looked over at Shirai, giving a little smile. "I'm sure. This duty has been in my family since the start of time. I have to finish this once and for all." He then turned back towards the five advisors, his face growing serious. "Have you five pin pointed the river?" he asked.
The five advisors nodded. "Yes. It's located in the southern regions, as we've said, near the land of giants. Attacking there will surely destroy the Akuma World."
Surua sighed, nodding. "Good. Then tell the technicians to start." After nodding, Surua took led his wife away, heading outside. More than anything, Surua wanted to get away.
The five advisors remained in the Royal Metting Room, however, instead of going to alert the technicians. As they stood there, a figure appeared from the corner of the room. The figure wore a deeply destroyed cloak which covered his entire body. His purple hair curled deeply across his body, his eyes bright. On his head sat a purple straw hat. It was Era.
All the twelve Royal Guards immediately saw what was going on and went into action, attacking the strange invader.
"Now," said Era towards the five advisors.
One of the advisors lifted a hand, and instantly time froze. All the guards were frozen in their places, the entire world stopped.
Era smiled, stepping towards the advisors. "Good job," he muttered. "But let's get down to business. How is the plan coming?"
"It's all done," said the advisors. "The only thing left to do is use our abilities to eliminate the world power. Mariejoa will be destroyed today. I take it you'll uphold your part of the deal?"
"Of course," chuckled Era. "I will rule over this world, and you five shall be my advisors. We'll reshape it, as you wish."
The advisors smiled, pleased. "Very good."
As Era vanished back into nothingness, time restarted. All the guards stopped in their tracks, puzzled as to where the newcomer had gone. They then turned towards the advisors, who, now, were showing their true colors.
A second advisor pointed both palms towards the guards, and somehow an invisible force, like sound, shot in all directions. The shock wave slammed hard into the guards, killing many of them instantly. Not only that, but the wave continued forward, slamming into the walls and shaking the entire castle.
Only one survivor from the Royal Guards remained: Monkey D. Mugiwara. He frowned, huffing, looking around at his dead companions. Blood slowly trickled down his forehead. "This.. you guys..."
He frowned, clenching his teeth. He picked up a sword and began dashing towards the advisors, anger blazing across his face. "Damn you!!!"
Just as another advisor lifted up their hands to counter attack, a man came between the two, stopping the attack of both. Ko lifted up his hand, catching Mugiwara's sword and ripping it out of existence.
Mugiwara frowned, taking a step back and throwing away his broken sword. "W-who are you!?"
The advisors smiled. "Ko, correct? Era told us to expect you."
Ko turned half around, grinning brightly. "You guys are humans right? I couldn't give a shit about you if I wanted, no matter who told me." Ko spun around, facing the advisors, and slashed across the air, causing long cuts and slashes across the advisors, who both flew backwards at the blast.
"That bastard," muttered one of the advisors, getting back to his feet.
"No," said another, grabbing the other one. "Don't bother with him. Let's leave now. We have a plan to complete." With that, all five advisors all somehow fell through the ground, vanishing away.
Ko frowned, spitting where they once were. "Idiot humans, running away like that." He turned back around, facing the shocked Mugiwara. "What's the problem with you?" he muttered, chuckling. "You're a human too, right? That means I'll kill you."
Ko dashed forward, ripping his hands across the air in Mugiwara's direction. Mugiwara jumped high in the air, dodging it, and then shot forward, punching with all his might. Ko jumped to the right, missing the fist, then slashed again, cutting part of Mugiwara's face.
Mugiwara gasped at the pain, but fought onwards. Punch after punch, kick after kick, Ko was proving more powerful. Ko dodged every attack and countered perfectly, putting another severe wound on Mugiwara. Finally, with a devastating final attack, Ko slashed right across Mugiwara's chest, sending him flying across the room and crashing into the wall.
Ko chuckled, slowly walking towards the body. "It's over. My job here is done."
Outside the castle was chaos. The Advisors had gone on a rampage, destroying whatever they could. Their plan was to take the 3 weapons for themselves, teleport the weapons away from Mariejoa, and then use them on Mariejoa itself, destroying the worlds only power.
While attacking the many guards, the advisors had no way of keeping up the king, Surua, and the queen, Shirai. Both were now running at full speed back to the castle to try to figure out what was going on and stop the problem.
Out further in the distance, near the burning gates of Mariejoa, stood a giant by the name of Gula, who had just a few days ago become a Wonder. He stood looking at the city, laughing. As he did, two people appeared at his feet: Era and Kiss.
He looked down, grinning at them. "Oi, you two!" he shouted out in his large voice. "Check it out! The world is already in chaos! Hahaha!"
Era gave a smile up at the giant. "Of course, my wonder. Thank you for playing your part in taking out some of the city and starting the trouble. It really is necessary to my plan, you know."
"Course, of course!" laughed Gula. "As long as I keep these powers I got when I became a Wonder and I get to rule over the giants, that's all I want!"
"That promise is kept," nodded Era. After saying farewell, Era turned towards Kiss. "Now, Kiss, should we go watch this worlds doom?"
Kiss smiled, nodding. "Okay."
Suddenly, back at the Royal Castle, Surua came bursting through the doors, Shirai right behind him. Frowning, he looked around. He could not believe what he was seeing. In front of him was all twelve of his guards, dead. Only one, Mugiwara, leaned against a wall, bleeding horribly.
Ko turned his head, grinning. "Ah, hello there," he said. "You wouldn't be the King, would you?"
Surua frowned, his hands suddenly starting to turn a deep red color, small red bubbles appearing at the surface of his skin. "You... Did you do this!?"
Ko chuckled, the blood of his victims spread across his face. "Of course," he muttered. "And I think you'll be next."
Ko went in for his attack, slashing his arm through the air hoping to get a clear easy cut on his enemy. The cut slammed on straight forward. Ko, however, knew something wasn't right about the situation. Surua had made no attempt to even dodge the attack. That's when he realized it.
Surua had been split completely in half, but was still very much alive. In the empty area across his chest glowed a strange red light, emitting in all directions. This light then reached out, connecting Surua back together again.
Surua frowned, slamming his fist forward, straight at Ko. Ko was able to easily jump back to dodge the direct blow, but there was more to Surua's attack than just a punch. After the initial punch, a huge blast of red light went flying in Ko's direction.
Ko barely had time to react to the blow, jumping out of the way. However, the bottom part of his leg was caught in the light, and as it was the skin began to tighten, shrivel, blacken, and crack. Ko fell to the ground, screaming in agony at the horrible pain. He looked back up to see an angry king.
Surua was breathing hard, his entire body growing a bright red color. Red bubbles slowly appeared off the surface of his shaking skin, vanishing into the air.
Shirai, frightened, stepped back.
"That kind of power," muttered Ko, struggling to stand back up. "What exactly is that?"
Surua had no need to talk to Ko and didn't want to either. He had gained the power long ago, when he was a child, by eating one of the first Devil Fruit to appear in the human world. He didn't know it, and the thought of ever using it scared him, but now there was no choice. He was going all out.
Surua attacked again, punching forward and sending a devastating, burning light in Ko's direction. Ko reacted quickly, cutting across the air to completely cancel the attack. Ko, frowning, dashed forward, regardless of his leg.
The battle begun. The King of the world, Surua, against the strongest Akuma of that time, Ko, went all out.
Over and over, Surua showed off an amazing display of power, sending blast after blast, punch after punch, of deadly red light at Ko. Ko dodged and attacked back, sending Surua's attacks out of existence and attempting to attack Surua himself.
Finally, Ko's attacks began to work, and Surua was taking damage. Ko had finally mastered attacking a logia power. Surua, however, wouldn't stop just because of this. Flustered with rage, he attacked onwards.
Finally, Ko could take no more. Risking his entire life with the next attack, he pushed forward. The palm of his hand slammed hard right in the center of Surua's chest, leaving severe deadly cuts. Surua flew backwards, slamming against a wall before falling to his knees.
Ko, gasping for air, stood there, looking at his horribly burnt, blackened arm. His weary green eyes looked up, smiling as Surua struggled to move where he lay. Slowly, Ko began walking towards Surua, his face brightening up into a laugh.
"The king of the human world is someone like you, huh?" muttered Ko, standing above the body, ready to rip it to shreds in an instant. "You should be thanking me for getting rid of someone as weak as you."
Ko lifted up his arm, ready to finish the attack once and for all. Surua looked up, not believing what he just saw.
Mugiwara had appeared out of nowhere, and regardless of his condition, he was ready to fight. He grabbed Ko's arms, pulling them behind his back and preventing him from attacking.
"W-what the hell!?" yelled out Ko, struggling to get free.
Mugiwara frowned, not letting go. "Your majesty!" he shouted out in a raspy voice. "Do it! Attack now! Get rid of the invader!"
Surua frowned, his eyes wide, tears forming. Slowly, he lifted up his arm, red light starting to emit all around it. "B-but Mugiwara..." he muttered. "You do know what will happen if I attack? You will also--!"
"Don't say it, your majesty!" shouted out Mugiwara. "It is the Royal Guard's duty to always protect the king, even if it means losing your life!"
Mugiwara smiled.
Surua, amazed, gave a small nod. Using all his remaining power, Surua shot a huge beam of red light at Ko.
Mugiwara had died. Ko, now, was almost gone as well. He laid on the floor, barely breathing. His senses were gone. He did not know where he was or what he was doing. He did not remember where he came from or what he came here to do. The only thing that was racing through his mind was that he had lost.
And it was Mugiwara's fault.
A black, burnt straw hat sat firmly on Ko's head.
Surua sighed, lowering his head, a tear streaming down his cheek. He looked up at the sound of footsteps and saw his wife, Sharia, rushing to his side.
"Stay back," warned Surua, causing Shirai to freeze in her tracks. "I.. might still be dangerous...."
Shirai frowned, tears in her eyes. "Surua... What's going on?"
Surua shook his head, honestly not knowing himself. All he knew was that his five advisors had somehow changed their ways and was now destroying the city. "I don't know.. But we have to get out of here now--!!!"
It happened out of nowhere.
Shirai had been killed on the spot. Her dead body slowly fell to the ground, colliding with the floor. Surua sat there, his eyes wide, his jaw dropped. His love, his only love, had just been killed right before him.
Surua jumped back to his feet, turning straight at Ko. There, he saw that Ko had his hand lifted up, and it was pointing right at the direction where Shirai once stood. Surua, tears in his eyes, anger in his face, began running at Ko's already crippled body, ready to destroy it completely.
However, he was intercepted.
Era had appeared with Kiss at his side, blocking the way for Surua. Kiss, without saying a word, touched Ko, causing him to completely vanish. She then stood back up, smiling, next to Era.
"W-who are you.." muttered Surua, barely able to speak because of what was happening. "W-what.. what is..."
"Calm down," said Era, grinning. "I just want to ask you something important. Your love, Shirai, just died. I, however, can bring her back to life, if you wish. In return, however, I want you to work for me, do whatever I say. I want you to become a Wonder."
Surua stood there, then slowly began stepping backwards, stumbling. All of this was happening so suddenly. His city, his guards, and then his love.. All gone. And then this man.. making such a promise.
"No," said Surua, shaking his head.
Era frowned. This was the first time that a man ever denied his request. It was, honestly, quite an interesting situation. "Fair enough," said Era. "I'll be in touch. Just remember one thing."Surua looked up.
"You are the Final Piece. The final part this world will need to become whole again. It's only a matter of time before you fufill such a destiny. Remember this, for the time is near."
With this, they left Surua alone to mourn in the pool of blood of his friends.
"Are you sure that was okay?" asked Kiss.
Era and Kiss had left the main castle of Mariejoa and were now in a separate building not far away. Outside they could hear the cries of battle all around. It was quite horrible.
"Of course," said Era. "The goal of this, for the moment, wasn't to get Surua to become my wonder. It was just to ruin his hope. That's the first step."
Kiss frowned, looking around. "Is that true.." She then looked back up at Era. "I don't want to be your Wonder anymore."

Chapter One-Hundred-Fifty-Seven: About Time
"That's the story," muttered Surua, turning away from Edge.
The flashback is over, and the scene returns to the beach just outside the crystal cave entrance. The moon was starting to set, and the sun was just at the horizon. Soon it would be morning, and the others would awake.
"So that's it," muttered Edge. Finally, he had found out about his ancestors past and their connection to the Final Piece. "Final Piece… I still don't completely understand it.."
"Neither do I," commented Surua. "I've told you what I know."
Edge decided what he was told was more than enough, and he should leave the man alone. He turned, walking back towards the crystal cave to see if the others were awake. He then stopped, a sudden thought appearing in his head. "One more thing," he said, turning in Surua's direction. "Why did you join up with Era?"
Surua closed his eyes. It was true that many, many years ago he had denied the offer of his love coming back to life. Why would he join now of all times?
"Not important."
The scene is the underground crystal cave. Era was awake, standing alone in throne room. He had talked to Reiku ( who was actually a transformed Kiss ), all about the Final Piece. Of course, he trusted Reiku with the information, but the fact that he was talking about such things bothered him.
It had been 800 years since the time he had encountered Mattaki, the essence of the world, and asked to make it whole again. And after all of this time, he still hadn't completed that mission. This did not matter anymore though, for now Era had the thing he needed: Surua.
He gave a confident smile to himself. It was only a matter of time before Surua became his wonder.
"Era."
Era turned to see Kiss and Reiku walk into the room. It seemed both of them had just woken up. He gave a small smile to them and a good morning. "Are the others awake?" he asked.
Kiss nodded. "They are. However, Chinchilla-- I mean Quia isn't in his room. But no worries, I found him training outside."
"Training?" asked Era, laughing a little. "He's always doing that.."
Reiku grabbed his stomach as it suddenly rumbled. "Bleh.." he muttered, hungry. "I wish we had some food around here."
Instantly, a long table appeared in the room, wonderful food of all types falling on top. The force was so strong it sent Era flying backwards, hitting a wall.
"AH!" shouted Era, getting to his feet. "Reiku, watch what you say!"
Reiku was already stuffing his face with food as Kiss chuckled to herself. "I know what I said!" laughed out Reiku, continuing to eat. "Hehah!"
Era sighed, sitting back on his throne. As he did, the rest of the crew entered into the throne room: Xuria, Soulshroud, and Erukia.
"Aaaah, such a nice sleep," chuckled Xuria, blushing to herself as she entered the room. After waking, she had changed into her casual crew clothes, which was that of a long black cloak. However, since she was the Deadly Akuma of Lust, her clothes were slightly shorter and more skimpy.
"My sleep should have been nice!" growled Soulshroud enviously, crossing his arms as his eyes zoomed in different directions. Since he was the Deadly Akuma of Envy, it was only natural for him to act in such a way.
Erukia said nothing as he entered the room. He was a very mysterious and quiet child, barely talking. All that was truly known was that he is a Wonder, and his ability is sensing things beyond normal humans.
Almost right after, Surua and Edge also entered. The entire crew was together again, except for Quia.
The morning was interesting. Although most were quiet, a strange bond was building up. The meal Reiku created was quickly eaten, and words were shared with each other. Era sat alone, watching his crew, frowning. This was the first time ever that all his Wonders were together in one place.
"So what are our plans?" asked Surua, who had said very little. He was sitting at the end of the dining table, and had hardly touched the food Reiku had wished up for him. His eyes looked down at the opposite end where Era sat, who also hadn't took a bit of food.
Era smiled. "I'm glad you asked. I assume you know what's going on in the world right now.."
Surua nodded. "Yes.. There are wars breaking out everywhere.. Just when Ei, the Shichibukai, was defeated, Dragon decided now was the best time to attack. Revolutionaries versus marines everywhere. Pirates are getting involved now too."
"That's right," said Era. "As you all know, our goal is to find One Piece, the legendary treasure left behind by Gol D. Roger. However, three obstacles lay before us. One is Mariejoa, the headquarters of the World Government. As long as that place is still standing, there is no way we can move forward."
Era then lifted two fingers. "The second obstacle is the Revolutionaries. A group of people sworn against the government. These people are no pushovers. The most wanted man in the world, Dragon, is their leader."
Era smiled. "And the final obstacle is the most abundant one. The pirates. They're no particularly our enemies, but more like competitors, most of them at least. For this reason, we need to eliminate the strongest of their forces."
Era sighed, closing his eyes. "Once those three forces have been nulled, there will be nothing left to stop us. One Piece will be ours. We'll stand at the top of the world, all together."
Surua turned, frowning. Edge saw this, and frowned as well. It seemed that those two were the only ones in the entire room who knew what One Piece really meant... The others.. they were all just senseless pawns following behind.
"Three obstacles. We'll be splitting into three groups to take them out, understand?"
Everyone looked up, curious as to who they would be paired off with. Of course, they all basically had the same idea of who they would be with. It would only be sensible for those who knew each other well to be placed together.
"For the Revolutionaries... Kiss, since you have a clone with Dragon now, you know their location. You will go with Reiku and Quia. Your goal is not to kill every single revolutionary, but only one man: Dragon. Their forces will wither after that."
Kiss nodded, her cold eyes looking over towards Reiku, who smiled a little. "No problem."
"Next," continued Reiku, looking at the remaining group. "Mariejoa. I'll leave that to Surua, Xuria, and Edge."
Edge raised an eyebrow, curious as to why he was placed with Surua. He wondered if Era might have over heard the conversation of Final Piece that had happened earlier. However, he quickly put it out of his mind.
Surua seemed not to care, and simply sat silently.
Xuria, on the other hand, smiled gleefully. "Ooooh, I get to go out with two amazing guys today? Heheh, how amazing."
Era smiled, glad they understood. "And so that leaves the final group for the pirates. Erukia, Soulshroud, and myself. We'll target three different groups of pirates each. Erukia, I want you to go to the Mugiwaras. Soulshroud, you will be left with the final Yonkou, Shanks. And I'll take the rest. Heh."
It was confirmed. Everyone understood their goals. The end of the world was coming close.
It was that afternoon. Surua, Edge, and Xuria had left, heading towards Mariejoa. Reiku and Kiss were also getting ready to make their depart, but there was a small problem...
"No way," muttered Reiku, his jaw dropping. "Could it really be...?"
Kiss chuckled a little to herself, bending down and looking at the crude drawing in the sand. They were at the last place Quia was seen training. However, Quia was no longer there. Now the only thing left behind was a rather horrible drawing of Quia waving goodbye.
"He left us," chuckled Kiss, looking over at Reiku. "That's just like him.."
"Why are you laughing?" cried Reiku. "You know what this means, right? More work for us! This is going to be sooo boring."
Kiss smiled. "Not really."
The scene is far across the ocean. A storm rattles the water, horrible fifty foot waves crashing all around a single lone ship. Upon the ship stood the revolutionary Dragon, and a few of his best men stood at his back.
"Sir!" shouted out one of the men trying to control the sails. The harsh wind was already causing them to rip. "We're not going to last this storm! How are we going to get to Mariejoa like this!?"
Dragon looked to his right, seeing Kiss, who was sitting on the side of the boat, paying no attention to the rain. Dragon sighed a little, then looked forward. "This storm is getting in the way," he said.
Dragon reached out a hand towards the sky, and rain suddenly grew more fierce, spraying across the ship. The wind picked up, nearly flipping the ship. The thunder roared and the lightning flash, lighting up Dragon's serious face.
"Go away."
Instantly, in a rush, all of the clouds in the sky vanished away, and the ocean calmed. All that remained was the sun in the horizon. Dragon then crossed his arms again. "Continue forward," he commanded.
The bewildered revolutionaries simply returned to their post. They knew very well not to question Dragon and his abilities. The only person on the entire ship who did not seem amazed was Kiss, who was still sitting alone, her eyes closed.
"Kiss," said Dragon, turning towards her. "What worries you?"
Kiss opened one eye, looking over towards her leader. She smiled a little. "Nothing at all, sir." Standing up, a small breeze caught her hair, and the silver glimmered in the sunlight. "Actually... there is one thing.. I should show you now."
Dragon frowned, turning around and facing Kiss. "What are you talking about? Have one of your clones discovered something important?"
Kiss nodded. "Yes. Reiku is here."
Suddenly, Reiku appeared right beside Kiss, falling face first onto the deck. "Ublah!" he yelled out, rolling a little. He quickly pulled himself up, dusting off his clothes. "Oh darn, I'm all scuffled up now... Ah well. I didn't think I could wish myself such a distance! It's really amazing! Hehah."
Kiss smiled, looking over at Reiku. "Mhmm."
Dragon was alarmed and took a step back. "Kiss? What is the meaning of this? Reiku... Who is this person?"
Reiku frowned, crossing his arms. "You've never heard of me? Why, that's not good."
By now the entire ship was aware of the situation, and all of them had their guns pointed right at Reiku, the intruder. "Don't move!" they yelled out. "Make on single move and we'll take you out!"
Reiku smiled. "My name is Reiku of Greed. I want everything in the world." He snapped his fingers. "I wish your crew was empty."
Instantly, every single person on the crew vanished, their swords and guns falling down and hitting the deck. Only Dragon, surprised, remained. He took a step back, frowning. Right now, however, he was more confused than surprised.
"Kiss, what's going on here? Explain..."
Kiss smiled, looking over at Reiku. She then turned back towards Dragon. "A real Revolutionary.. it's like you've always said. We can fool anyone, right? I'm the same way, as you know."
She slowly started walking towards Dragon. "For all these years that I've served at your side, following close behind you, I never showed my true colors. However, times have changed, and now..."
In an instant, Kiss lifted a hand, and lighting shot out of her fingertips, slamming strong into Dragon's right shoulder. Dragon was blown back a little, but stayed on his feet. He did not strike back. "Kiss..."
Kiss smiled sharply. "You're a fucking idiot," he said, her body slowly changing shape. "What form should I take.. to end your life? Don't you see now!? I've said it before.. The world will rumble in my presence! There is not a place for you in my future!"
Dragon frowned. Something had clicked in his head. He lifted an arm into the air, and slowly clouds began to form in the sky. "I see what you mean now.. Kiss.. If that's the case, then I guess I'll have to make that storm come back.."
Kiss smiled. "I'm glad you understand."
"Ah, leaving the work up to her," chuckled Reiku, laying back and watching. "It's such a breeze now. Hehah."
The scene is Crystal Island, the underground cave. Inside was Era, Erukia, and Soulshroud, all who were just preparing themselves to go off and fight the pirates they were commanded to take down. However, just before setting off, Erukia froze in his place, his eye twitching a little.
Era saw this. "Erukia, my wonder.." he muttered. "You sense something, hmm? What could it be?"
Erukia looked up at Era, frowning, his emotionless eyes closing. "We have visitors.. two of them.. By the sound of their heartbeat, their anxious to be here... I can hear the sweat dripping off their forehead... Their enemies.. Their names are..."
Erukia frowned. "Monkey D. Dadan and Sharp Newgate."
Era raised his eyebrows, surprised. "Oh? Those two... Heheh, and here I thought both of them have perished long ago... What could they possibly still be doing alive, and here of all places?"
"Is this going to interrupt my assignment?" muttered Soulshroud, annoyed.
"No, not at all," said Era. "You two leave and do what I've told you to do. I shall leave as well."
"Then.. Who's going to take care of those two outside?" muttered Soulshroud, raising an eyebrow.
Era smiled, turning around. "There's a person who has waited a long time for this... My newest wonder, I guess it's time to finally come out. Don't you think?"
From the darkness of the cave emerged a figure from the very earth itself. He stood tall, his flaming red, spiky hair laying down across his rugged looking face. His deep eyes opened wide, as if finally awakening after a long, long sleep. A smile appeared on his face, and he chuckled grimly. He cracked his neck, and then his knuckles, his chuckle echoing across the entire cave.
"Heheh, about time," muttered Shimekire.

Chapter One-Hundred-Fifty-Eight: Idiot
"So did it work? Are they separated?" asked Sengoku.
The scene are the dark waters near the end of the Grand Line. The sky was covered with thunder clouds, the waves vicious and choppy. It was a ship graveyard. Upon the front of one barely floating ship was two people: Whitebeard and Sengoku.
"Well?" asked Sengoku again.
Whitebeard frowned, clenching his fist. He was barely hanging on to life as it was. "You're a bastard."
Sengoku frowned, but kept his cool, even in this situation. He turned away from him, looking out into the distance. He chuckled, and then, out of the water, appeared Kuma. Although the man was harshly damaged and missing an arm, it still seemed to be functional.
Whitebeard looked up, his eyes wide with surprise. "No.. I killed him for sure! Sengoku, explain yourself!"
Sengoku turned back towards Whitebeard. "For ages you were known as the Strongest Man in the World. That time has long past, you know. Your era is over." He turned back to Kuma. "This is only a copy of the original Kuma. You can't kill something that's not technically alive."
Whitebeard frowned, slamming his fist against the deck, almost breaking it in two. "This isn't true… Sengoku! You promised me that if I split up those Mugiwaras.. you would leave my crew untouched.. Where are they!?"
Sengoku frowned. "I did promise that, didn't I? I'm afraid your crew is no more. You know very well the world is at war. Many people are going to die, and only the strong ones will continue forward. I'm afraid your crew... can't stand up in this new world."
In an instant, Whitebeard, with all his remaining power, punched forward. The giant fist, however, was quickly blocked by the damaged Kuma, who teleported instantly to block the blow. Sengoku stood unharmed.
"You bastard!" shouted out Whitebeard, grabbing a hold of the robot Kuma and ripping it apart. "You think I'm just going to lay down and fade away after hearing something like that!? You think I'll forgive a person like you for killing my crew!? You're fucking wrong!"
Sengoku frowned, looking up at Whitebeard. He was now standing at full height. The scraps and pieces of Kuma fell to the deck, sliding off into the dark ocean.
"I did not expect you to forgive me," muttered Sengoku.
Whitebeard stood strong, looking down at Sengoku with more rage than he had ever felt before. He clenched his fist, ready to attack and kill.
"Roger," muttered Sengoku, turning around and facing the other direction, as if holding no fear towards the ferocious beast. "How do you think he felt? You lost your crew... He lost his crew as well."
Whitebeard growled. "What the hell are you getting at?"
"You and Roger.. You're both really idiots."
"Shut the hell up!" shouted Whitebeard, punching his fist down at Sengoku. Quickly, Sengoku jumped to the right, dodging the blow that destroyed the ship they were standing on. Sengoku landed on another sinking ship, looking across the water at Whitebeard.
"Pirates... What do you see when you're something like that? The World Government.. We see this land's potential.."
Whitebeard looked up, his eyes flaring. "That's just it!" Whitebeard jumped right at Sengoku, punching again, but Sengoku dodged again. "You're the blind one, Sengoku!"
Sengoku landed on another ship, crossing his arms.
Whitebeard huffed, tasting blood in his mouth. "You're the blind one... That government... All you see is the world.." Whitebeard smiled. "Pirates look up towards the endless sky!"
Darkness overcame Whitebeard. Consciousness faded away, and he fell down onto the deck, completely cold. Sengoku, still frowning, jumped over towards the body and looked down at it.
"You sad soul," he muttered. "I will take you out of this world." Sengoku lifted an arm, his fingers pointed outwards, ready to send down the blow that would finally kill Whitebeard. Just as he did, however, something caught his eye. Sengoku looked to his left to see something in the distance.
"A.. light?"
"Get the hell away from him!" shouted Ace with all his might, punching forward and creating a huge fist of fire heading straight for Sengoku. Sengoku, surprised, was almost caught in the flame, but barely managed to get out of the way.
Ace stood beside the fainted Whitebeard. His body was beaten and bleeding, and it looked like he had gone through a fair amount of fights, but he was still alive and standing. He frowned at Sengoku.
"Portgas D. Ace..." said Sengoku. "You're alive.. I assumed that when Impel Down was destroyed, you were taken down with it... I guess the Mugiwaras weren't the only ones who made it out alive.."
"Shut up," said Ace without a seconds hesitation. He turned towards his captain and picked up the man, holding him over his shoulder. "I don't have the time to kill you right now. I'm out."
Sengoku raised an eyebrow. "Ah, what makes you think I'm just going to let you walk away? You're my enemy, after all."
Ace didn't respond. Instead, in an extremely bright flash of light, the two of them vanished, leaving only Sengoku alone. Sengoku looked around, sighing a little.
"I let them get away.." he muttered to himself. Just then, the Den Den Mushi inside Sengoku's pocket suddenly began to go off. He quickly answered it. "Yes, what is it?"
"It's me ya idiot!" shouted out Doflamingo, followed by a prolong laugh. "Hahahah!"
"Doflamingo, give me the phone!" shouted a second voice, and after some kind of argument, it spoke again. "Vice Admiral Akainu here," he said, chuckling. "You told us to go after the Mugiwaras, remember? Well, we found one of them. They seem to be split up, don't know why."
Sengoku smiled. "Hehe, I see. Who did you find?"
"The captain!" shouted out Doflamingo. "Monkey D. Luffy!"
Sengoku turned around, and began walking away into the darkness. "Is that so? My orders... kill him."
Monkey D. Luffy sat in a small boat. Franky had made it just for him, but it hadn't held up very well. Although the waters had been dark and calm, the meat Franky packed wasn't nearly enough for Luffy's huge appetite, and now he was starving.
"Uwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah," moaned Luffy, hanging over the side of his small boat. "This is completely boring!"
Luffy finally stood up and looked forward. "But I can't give up! I promised my nakama that we would all meet at Raftel, so there's no way I can just give up!"
"Raftel?"
Luffy spun around, surprised at the voice. However, he saw no one. "W-what the..? Who's there!?" The problem was that the entire ocean was way too dark to see anything. One could barely see ten feet in front of them.
"Eeeh? That voice..." said the second voice. "Luffy?"
Luffy's eyes went wide. "No way.. Zoro!?"
Zoro's boat slowly came into clear view, and there, sitting backwards on the boat, was Zoro, holding his three swords ready to fight. "Ah, it is you, Luffy!" said Zoro, quickly sheathing his weapons. "I thought so..."
"Hahaha, nice to see ya, Zoro!" chuckled Luffy, waving a bit.
"Yep," muttered Zoro, jumping from his boat onto Luffy's. "Why did we split up again?"
Luffy chuckled, scratching his head. "You know, I don't really remember anymore! Hahaha!"
Zoro laughed along as well. "Hahaha, wasn't it something like you would die if the crew was together?"
Luffy slammed his knee. "Hahahah! I think that was it!"
Silence.
"What are you doing here!?" shouted out Luffy, kicking Zoro off the side of his boat. "I'm not planning to die yet! Get off the boat!"
"H-Hold it Luffy!" shouted out Zoro, kicking Luffy back. "You look alive to me! Calm done!" Luffy finally stopped, and looked down at himself.
"You're right!" he said. "I don't feel any different.. Could it be... It was a lie!?"
Zoro frowned, shrugging. "I don't know... Why would that Whitebeard guy lie to us? Ah well. The point is we're both alive, so we shouldn't worry about anything else."
Luffy couldn't help but smile. "Of course! So let's go! To Raftel!"
In the distance stood Doflamingo in his small boat, slowly sailing towards Luffy and Zoro. A grin came over his face. "So, this will be perfect. I didn't want to get my hands bloody anyway. I'll just let them destroy themselves! Hahahaha!"
The scene is a small bent and broken boat in the middle of the ocean. A huge storm roars overhead, and the waves rock the boat back in forth violently. Lightning crashes down from the sky, slamming onto the ocean's surface. Thunder is heard for miles and miles.
"When I said I wouldn't have to do any work," muttered Reiku, who was doing everything he could to hold onto the ship, "I didn't mean this.."
In front of him Dragon and Kiss were fighting at full force. Dragon was the most wanted man in the world, and his ability over the weather caused most troublesome for Kiss. Kiss had the ability to take any form she wanted and use any power she has seen before. This set them both fairly matched.
Both were beaten pretty badly, and neither would be able to go on much longer.
"Uwaaaaah!" yelled out Kiss, sending a devastating blow to Dragon's face and sending him soaring across the deck. Huffing, Kiss spun around to face Reiku. "Reiku!" she yelled out. "It's been long enough, but I've done it! Now.."
Kiss spun around, facing Dragon as he struggled to get back to his feet. Kiss frowned deeply, and dashed towards Dragon, lifting up her arm. As she did, her arm suddenly began to change shape until it took the form of a huge sharp sword. Kiss then pushed forward.
The sword went directly through Dragon's heart, and he was lifted high into the air. His eyes were wide. The thunderstorm began to act unnatural. Sparks of daylight, followed by complete darkness overtook the ocean. Huge whirlpools began spinning all around, and lighting struck at over a hundred places at once.
Kiss held up the dying body high in the air, her face full of rage. "REIKU! Go, now! Tell Era I killed him! I've killed Dragon!"
Reiku was amazed. He had never seen Kiss with such rage before. He took a deep breath, then nodded. "I wish I was where Era was," he muttered, and in that instant he disappeared, leaving Kiss alone with the dead body.
Kiss looked back up at the body, at the eyes of Dragon. Her frown slowly changed into a smile. As she laid the body down on the deck, the thunderstorm faded away into nothingness. Kiss stood there, looking down at the body.
And then, something interesting happened. Dragon's body slowly began to morph and change shape. Like a mirage fading away, so did Dragon's appearance. The shape that was now laying on the deck was that of Kiss'.
The clone then poofed away in a cloud of smoke. Kiss stood alone, chuckling to herself. She looked down at her blood covered hands. This was not the blood of Dragon's, no. It was her own. Her trick had gone exactly to plan.
"Heheh, Era, you idiot."
-
Seriously I don't know how many times Kiss has betrayed people but i really never get old of it. I like how you integrated a lot of characters into this chapter!!!!
-
I've been following this fic on ophq but since that site is messed up I'm glad to read it here.
Some really good chaps. WB making a deal with Sengoku just made him look like an idiot(lol) plus he got bailed out by Ace, made him look soft. At least the splitting up makes sense now.
In front of him Dragon and Kiss were fighting at full force. Dragon was the most wanted man in the world, and his ability over the weather caused most troublesome for Kiss. Kiss had the ability to take any form she wanted and use any power she has seen before. This set them both fairly matched.
There's no way they're fairly matched lol…...
So Kiss(I''ve already started to dislike even if she ends up with some peace-desiring dream) staged the fight to fool Reiku>
Don't know if you thought about it or if ti will be too much work but maybe you could talk about Dragon's plan to beat the WG/marines cuz all out war has to have some strategy to it.
Luffy & Zoro vs. Akainu & Doflamingo ( and possibly Erukia) sounds real cool wish I could see it drawn.
This has been so far and for the most part a really good OP fanfic.......

eh.. its Admiral Akainu, not Vice Admiral Akainu, otherwise its great.

Chapter One-Hundred-Fifty-Nine: Pelican Island
"Were we really even needed?" muttered Edge.
Surua, Edge, and Xuria had been sent by Era to destroy Mariejoa. However, once there, they found that most of that had already taken place. Before them was the once gleaming establishment burning and charred. Surrounded on all sides were marines and pirates, fighting wildly.
"It's hideous," muttered Surua, frowning at the scene of war. "What are they fighting for?"
Xuria looked over the edge of the cliff they were standing on, staring at them all. She shrugged a little. "Want me to make them allll stop for you Surua?" She blew a little kiss towards them.
Surua shook his head. "No, don't. Your ability is to take control of people through lust… but these people.. Even that emotion has faded from their hearts. All that is left is darkness."
Edge looked over to Surua. "This is what Era wanted, isn't it? Darkness... it weakens the barrier that separates the human world from the Akuma world, right?"
Surua gave a nod. "He sent us here not to destroy Mariejoa, but to speed up that process of weakening the barrier. That's it."
Xuria sighed. These king of depressing things wasn't her thing at all. "So what do we do now, hmm?"
Surua frowned. "I joined up with Era for a reason. I should do what he says..." Surua slowly lifted up his hand, his palm facing far down towards Mariejoa. "Forgive me."
Xuria's eyes went wide and she pounced at Surua, nearly knocking him off balance. "Surua!" she yelled out. "What do you think you're doing!?"
Surua looked at Xuria. He had never seen her get so worked up before. "Calm down, Xuria. I'm doing what I have to."
"Killing innocent people!?" she yelled back.
Surua frowned deeply. "Look at them!" he yelled back. "They aren't people anymore. Era's done damage in ways neither of us can imagine. He's ruined the bonds a true pirate should have. Now they're just mindless killers."
Xuria gave a firm frown, turning her back to Surua. "And is that what you want to be too?"
Surua sighed, looking down. He then slowly lifted his hand towards Mariejoa. In an instant, in a blast of green and purple, the entire area began to fade away. Small red explosions followed, ripping apart the earth and all the people, and it all finished with a blinding white light. What remained was only rubble and rock.
A tear went down Xuria's face. She could not believe that Surua just did what he did.
Surua turned around, walking away. "Come on you two... We're done.."
Edge looked at the rubble, amazed, then turned back towards Surua. "R-right..."
"Captain!" called out Ben Beckmen. "Someone's here!"
The scene was off the coast of Mariejoa, near the Red Line. A huge ship sailed calmly on the slightly rocky waters. On board was a crew of few, the rest gathering in small boats and sailing towards land.
Shanks spun around, looking up towards Ben who was standing in the crows nest. "What? Who!?"
Beckmen shook his head. "I don't know! Look!"
Shanks grabbed some binoculars from the deck and looked in the direction Beckmen directed. As he did, some of his crew which was leaving asked if they should stay, but Shanks quickly told them to continue on.
Concentrating back on the figure, he could not tell who it was either. "His.. clothes are too dark. I can't tell either. An enemy?" Then suddenly, the figure vanished. "W-what?"
"I'm right here, you idiot!" yelled out Soulshroud, who had appeared on the ship right behind Shanks.
Shanks frowned, reaching for the sword at his side to do a clear cut across Soulshroud. However, when he reached down, there was no sword. He looked back up at Soulshroud.
"Looking for this?" asked Soulshroud, who was now holding Shank's sword in his hand. "I was envious for it, so I took it for myself!"
Before Shanks could say a word, however, Lucky Roux had appeared in an instant, a gun pointed straight at Soulshroud's head. "Heheh, dun move."
Shanks sighed stepping forward. He didn't know who this person was, but it was obvious he was an enemy. "Your name," he asked.
Soulshroud looked over at the pistol Lucky Roux was holding, and he grinned. "Heheh, you're fast," he muttered enviously. "I should be the fast one!" he yelled out.
The top of the crow's nest exploded, sending wood and planks flying in all directions. Soulshroud had delivered a powerful kick up at Ben Beckmen, who had barely managed to dodge it. He landed beside Shanks and Lucky Roux.
"Captain," muttered Ben. "This guy.."
"I'll catch him," said Lucky. "I am the fastest guy in the world, after all!" Lucky jumped off the ground, but only reached a few inches before falling face forward. "Aaah! W-what's going on? My speed... is gone!"
Shanks looked down at Lucky, then back up at Soulshroud, who was standing on top of the broken mast staring down at them.
"Do you get it now?" he yelled down. "My name is Soulshroud, and I'm quite envious of you people..."
Out of nowhere, two bullets shot through Soulshroud. One through his heart and the other through his head. Soulshroud was taken aback, and fell from the mast, slamming hard onto the deck.
From the background emerged Yasopp, blowing the smoke out of his pistol. "Heh, perfect shot," he said, smiling at his crew. As he walked over towards them though, a hand shot up and grabbed his ankle.
Yasopp turned, looking down at Soulshroud. "What the... But my shots were perfect..."
Soulshroud looked up, blood pouring over his face. In the center of his forehead was a clear bullet hole. "You... I'm quite envious.. of that life of yours..."
Yasopp yelled out in pain, for suddenly a horrible feeling overtook his entire body. It was as if a thousand needles shot through his body and was sucking out his soul.
"Get away from him!" shouted out Shanks, delivering a powerful kick to Soulshroud's side, sending him soaring across the deck before slamming against the railing. He then spun around to help Yasopp, who was swaying around. "Are you okay."
Yasopp held his head, clenching his teeth. "Y-yeah.. But that guy.. I surely killed him.."
All eyes turned back towards Soulshroud, who was back on his feet, smiling. The bullet wounds had healed completely. "I didn't take your life completely," he muttered. "I'm envious."
Shanks sighed, flexing his joints. "This guy.. I don't know who he is, but we don't have any choice. We'll fight him, all together."
"Raftel isn't here!" shouted out Luffy, sighing heavily.
Luffy and Zoro sat in the tiny boat as it sailed through the water. The scene had, however, slightly changed. It was dark and hard to see, but now it had cleared up a little. The strange thing was, however, that there was no color. Everything was in black, white, and gray. Everything was dull.
"What do you think it means?" muttered Zoro, looking around. "I feel different all of a sudden."
Luffy shrugged, not really feeling anything. "I don't know," he said. "All I want to do is find Raftel, but in this gloomy ocean there's nothing at all! Not even any wind! What if we sailed into the Calm Belt?"
Zoro shook his head. "I don't think so... If we did there would be giant sea monsters all around, right?"
Luffy sighed. "Guess so... I just wished we would find something..."
"Luffy!" shouted out Zoro, jumping up and taking out his swords. "Watch it!" Zoro slashed his sword through the air, sending off an unknown enemy. Luffy jumped up, surprised.
They spun around to see that they had been followed. What was behind them was rather surprising. On another small boat stood two men, Doflamingo, the Shichibukai, and Akainu, the Admiral. Two extremely powerful people had appeared.
"These guys!" shouted out Zoro, frowning.
"Not them!" yelled out Luffy.
Luffy and Zoro looked at each other, then back at Doflamingo and Akainu. "We don't have a clue who you guys are."
Doflamingo and Akainu facefaulted. "So these guys are as much of idiots as we heard!" they said to each other. "Well then it'll be even easier to defeat them!"
"Defeat us?" yelled out Luffy. "No way! Not this far! You guys must be after that treasure too." Luffy looked over at Zoro. "I don't have a clue who these people are, but we can't let them go further than us! Understand?"
Zoro held all three of his swords. "Yep," he muttered. "They won't take a step past me."
Doflamingo grinned. "That sword guy, he seems interesting! I'll fight him, alright Akainu? Hahahah!"
Akainu shrugged, his crazy red hair blowing in front of his face. "That's fine with me. Let's see how this captain really is."
The fight started before any of them even realized it. Luffy was already wildly shooting fists at Doflamingo, who was, for the moment, simply dodging them with a rather interesting speed. Zoro, on the other hand, was getting in hits, but none of them seemed effective. Akainu was managing to grab the actual blade and push it back before it even cut him.
"Enough playing," laughed Doflamingo. "Let's finish this!" He lifted out his hand in Luffy's direction. "Freeze!"
Luffy stretched back his arm, ready to punch again, but before he could, his body became instantly immobile. Luffy's eyes went wide. He could not move at all. "W-what's going on!?" he shouted out.
Doflamingo grinned. "I'm an Akuma no Mi user too, you know! The Puppet Puppet fruit! I have the ability to control any person and do with them what I like.. Hahahah! Pretty interesting, don't you think!?"
Luffy frowned, struggling against the power.
Zoro was pushed back again by Akainu's strength. "What the hell," he muttered. "It's just like before with that Ei guy! He pushed back my attacks with just his fingers... I'm not that weak though!"
Zoro clenched his swords tightly then spun around, sending a huge wave of energy flying in Akainu's direction. Akainu was surprised by this sudden surge of power, but still managed to take it head on. He lifted both arms and blocked the attack, but was still sent back a few feet.
Zoro sighed, looking up. No real damage had been done. "What's up with you," he muttered.
Akainu grinned. "I'm an Admiral, what do you expect? My ability, it's an Akuma no Mi! The Earth Earth fruit. I have the ability to form any element on my body and have complete control over it. To block your blades attack, all I need to do is form something stronger."
He lifted up an arm, and as he did a shiny clearness came over it. "Like diamond, for example."
Zoro attacked again. "So I'll have to cut through this next, huh?"
Luffy stood completely frozen in his place, unable to move. Doflamingo grinned, walking towards him. From his side he pulled out a small dagger, and placed the dagger in Luffy's hand.
"Now," he muttered, moving his hands a little. "Stab yourself."
Slowly, Luffy's hand began to move towards his chest, the blade pointed straight at him. Luffy frowned, pulling back with everything he had, but to no success. The broke through his skin. "NO!" shouted out Luffy, and in that instant the control Doflamingo had over him was broken.
Luffy through the blade into the ocean and punched forward again, getting in a solid blow right in the center of Doflamingo's face. Doflamingo flew back, but quickly got back to his feet. "W-what was that!? How did you.. break free?"
Luffy's will power, his Haki, had taken over, and the force was enough to cancel out Doflamingo's controlling power. "I don't know!" shouted out Luffy. "But that doesn't matter! Now is the time to win!"
Luffy attacked again, but instantly tripped, falling face forward onto the deck. Doflamingo had already began using his controlling powers again, and Luffy could not move at all.
"That aura of yours," muttered Doflamingo. "It's pretty strong! But if I use all of my power, I can overcome even that..."
Luffy tried to break free, but couldn't.
"Now you die." Doflamingo took out another and pierced it through Luffy's body. Luffy yelled out in pain and blood went flying, seeping across the deck and into the cracks of the wood. Doflamingo smiled. "Die, Luffy."
Zoro was pushed back yet again from the attack, but kept going strong. Over and over again, he could not penetrate the diamond exterior. It was impossible. "Damn it!" shouted out Zoro. He lifted up both his swords, and his body began to change. Speed caused an illusion of three heads and six arms.
"Asura!" he shouted out. He attacked forward with everything he could. Akainu did the same, creating two long spikes from his arms, the hardness of diamond. The two collided, creating a shock wave that stirred up the grey ocean. Zoro stood strong after the attack, but frowning. Two long cuts shot across his chest. "Damn it... Why.."
Akainu turned, smiling. His chest was cracked. "Impressive," he muttered. "Let's get serious now, hmm?"
"Move."
A huge black sword appeared out of nowhere, cutting across the ocean and ripping through the two small ships, shattering them completely. All four people went flying in different directions, and barely managed to stay afloat by jumping on small pieces of floating wood.
"W-what the hell!?" shouted out Doflamingo, who had been knocked down completely. "What was that!?"
Luffy opened one eye, barely conscious. "Z-zoro?" he muttered.
Zoro's eyes were wide, his jaw dropped. The sight before him.. It couldn't possibly be true.
Akainu's left arm, the same arm he had just pointed at Zoro, was completely missing at the elbow. Akainu stared down at it, his eyes wide. "My arm..." he muttered. "What the hell.. It wasn't you.. Not you Zoro... It was..." He turned towards a small coffin like boat, where a man stood wielding a huge black blade.
"Out of my way," said Mihawk. "Move. I won't say it again."
Akainu frowned, clenching his fist. "Y-you!? What the hell are you doing here!? And attacking me of all people! You bastard!" Akainu jumped off the broken boat, his arm forming a long blade. He was ready to pierce right through Mihawk.
Mihawk swung his giant black blade which hit hard into Akainu's chest. Amazingly, however, it did not cut. However, it was strong enough to send Akainu flying and crashing beside Doflamingo.
Mihawk frowned. "I do not consider myself part of the Shichibukai anymore," he said. "And I've grown bored."
Akainu frowned. "Bastard..."
Mihawk then caught something out of the side of his eyes and looked over towards Zoro. "Hmm? Who is this...?"
"Fire blade!" shouted out another voice, this one clearly female. Out of nowhere another newcomer arrived. Whoever she was could not be seen, but what could be seen was a huge wall of fire slamming hard into the ocean. The heat was so intense it caused a flood of steam to cover the area.
Before Zoro or Luffy could even noticed, they had been picked up by someone and taken away. They fainted quickly afterwards, the loss of blood being too much.
"Who are they?"
"I don't know..."
"Why are they even here? How did they get here?"
"I don't know that either..."
"Most importantly.. Why did you go out and save them like that!?"
"I didn't have a choice! I couldn't just leave them there. They were about to be killed..."
Luffy's eyes slowly opened up. He sat up and looked around, trying to figure out what had happened. He was in a small room, laying on a few sticks and leaves set up to look like a bed. There was only one door made of bamboo, and shadows of figures past that.
Luffy clenched in pain, and looked down at his chest to see bandages. He then looked to his right to see Zoro laying down as well, bandages wrapped around him as well.
"Huh?" muttered Luffy, trying to remember. "Oh, that's right! I have to get to Raftel!" Luffy jumped up, but quickly fell back down, his injury too much. "Ublah!"
The door quickly opened up and in walked a woman. "Hey, don't move too much! Your wound will open up again!"
After getting placed back in bed, Luffy got a good luck of the woman. It seemed she was the one who had saved them previously.
She was rather tall and had very long hair which reached past her hips. On her forehead sat a pair of goggles, one which was slightly cracked. Her face was smooth and perfect, her eyes a little narrowed. Her clothing couldn't be seen completely, for a long cloak covered most of her body. Two swords were strapped tightly to her waist.
The most interesting thing, however, were two features that made her different from humans. One, she had a small beak where her nose should be. Two, she had two huge wings growing from her back.
"A-are you a sky person?" asked Luffy, remembering Skypiea.
The woman frowned a little, confused. "I-I don't think so.." she muttered. "My name is Kusu."
Luffy smiled, quickly getting over the fact that she was partially a bird. "Haha, I see. Well thanks for saving me and my friend!"
Kusu's attitude seemed to suddenly lighten up. It seemed that as soon as Luffy didn't show any rebellious attitude towards her, she opened up more. "You're welcome," she said with a small smile. "But you should rest.. Your wound is deep.."
Luffy shook his head. Although he was hurt and he could barely stand, he still wanted to go forward. "Can't do that," he muttered. "I promised my friends I would meet them at an important place, so I can't stay here!"
Kusu frowned, pulling up a chair and sitting by his bed. "Well they'll have to wait," she said with a small voice. "You need your rest."
"But I have to!" yelled out Luffy again, but Kusu placed two fingers on his lips, causing him to stop.
"No more talking about that," she muttered.
Luffy frowned, laying back down. It seemed know he was concentrating on healing faster to get free. But that's when he noticed something rather curious. "Hey, where am I?"
Kusu looked up. "Ah.. You're on Pelican Island," she said.
"Pelican Island?" asked Luffy frowning. "That means I'm not on the Grand Line anymore! The next island was the last one I had left... I was almost at Raftel!"
Kusu frowned, looking down. "Congratulations," she muttered. "I guess."
Luffy turned his head, looking at her. "What?"
Kusu looked up at Luffy. "You're here. This is Raftel."
Luffy's eyes went wide, and his wound nearly burst open again. "WHAT!? But I thought you just said... I'm really there!? But.. Pelican Island... Where am I!?"
Kusu chuckled a little. "Calm down," she said. "Pelican Island and Raftel... They're the same."
Luffy's eyes went wide. His spirit almost seemed to jump out of his chest. He was finally there, but he couldn't even see it due to the room he was in. He wanted more than anything just to jump out of that room and run around, laughing like crazy. "B-but wait," he said.
Everything around him, everything, the people, the walls, the floor, even himself.. Everything was still in black and white and gray. There was no color to anything. "Where's the light?"
That seemed to hit something in Kusu and she frowned, closing her fist. However, she didn't allow Luffy to notice her feeling and quickly spoke back. "Ah, I guess I should explain... Would you really like to know?"
However, before she could even speak a word, a huge flash of light erupted in the room. A man flew out of the flashing light, slamming face first into the wall then falling backwards on his back. "Ouch!" he yelled out, holding his head which had started bleeding.
He sat up, looking around the room, frowning deeply. "Damn it," he muttered, not noticing Kusu and Luffy behind him. "I guess I can't wish myself long distances all the time... Guess I'll just try again..."
He then turned around, a sound catching his ear. There, before him, he saw Luffy and Kusu. His eyes suddenly grew wide, and his jaw dropped.
"S-Sister!?" shouted out Reiku, pointing right at Kusu.
"B-brother!?" yelled out Kusu, holding her hands to her mouth.

Chapter One-Hundred-Sixty: Envious
The battle against Soulshroud, the Akuma of Envy, rages on.
"Tell me why you're here!" shouted out Shanks. He stood at one side of the deck with the closest of his crew, Ben Beckmen, Lucky Roux, and Yasopp. "Well?"
Envy chuckled, taking a step forward. His eyes were moving around in odd, unnatural directions. Shank's crew, which had been ordered to leave, stayed close by, guns and swords ready. "The answer to that is simple! My captain, Surua, told me to."
"Surua?" muttered Shanks. "Why would he…"
"Surua... that's the Yonkou!" shouted out Lucky Roux. "We've always been on good terms with that guy! Why would he suddenly decide to attack us?"
"Could be because of the huge war that's breaking out everywhere," said Ben. "He figured that eventually one of us would attack the other, and he took the first attack.."
"No," said Shanks, shaking his head. "That's not the reason. My straw hat... the one I gave to Luffy.. he was the one who gave it to me!" The others listened on, confused. Soulshroud also seemed interested, and didn't attack right away. "When I was young, it was Surua who first trained me before I met Roger... It was during those days I got the straw hat. It was a symbol of freedom."
"So you're saying," muttered Yasopp. "That Surua wouldn't attack us like this, no matter what the situation.."
"Exactly," said Shanks. He turned back towards Soulshroud. "I don't know who you are, or who you're really working for, but we won't allow you to stay on this ship! Leave!" Suddenly, a wave of haki flew out in all directions. Half of Shank's weaker crew all fainted, but Soulshroud still stood.
"C-captain.." muttered Yasopp. "You just defeated half of your own crew.."
"Whoops," chuckled Shanks, scratching the back of his head. "Didn't mean to do that..."
"Strong!" yelled out Soulshroud, who was stepping forward again. "I'm envious..."
By utilizing the incredible speed he stole from Lucky, Soulshroud blasted forward, Shank's sword in his hand. "Die!"
Shanks ducked down quickly, then delivered a fierce kick straight up. The kick slammed dead center in Soulshroud's chin, causing him to fly up into the air. "Now!" shouted out Shanks to his crew.
Yasopp, directing the others, all began to shoot their pistols, and hundreds of bullets pierced Soulshroud, causing blood to pour. Next, Ben jumped in the air, holding his shotgun like a bat, and slammed it heard right in Soulshroud's chest, sending him soaring back down at the deck. Below waited Lucky Roux, who had his huge fist ready. At the perfect time, he punched Soulshroud with everything he could.
Soulshroud went flying, slamming hard into the deck. Once the dust cleared, all that remained was the broken corpse.
"We did it," chuckled Yasopp, pumping his fists. "Yah!"
"Not yet," said Shanks. Shanks picked up his sword, which Soulshroud had dropped, and walked over to the corpse. Standing over the bodily remains, his thoughts were true. This man was still alive.
"I... am... envious..."
Shanks frowned, lifting up his sword and filling it with Haki. "You're.. no human."
He slashed down, severing Soulshroud. Amazingly, however, the upper half of the body continued to move, and it slowly reached out a hand for Shanks. "That life.. of yours.. I'm envious for it... give it.. to me.."
"That's enough, Soulshroud."
Shanks, along with the rest of the crew, spun around at the sound of the unfamiliar voice. Standing in the middle of the deck, unnoticed until just then, was Era. His long black-purple hair blew in the sudden breeze, and a sharp smile appeared on his face.
Shanks frowned, pointing his sword at Era. "Another one?"
Era chuckled at Shank's threat, and simply walked past him. "Don't try anything," he muttered. "It will do you no good."
Shanks, of course, was going to fall for no tricks, so he immediately attacked with everything he could, splitting Era right in half with his blade. However, no blood was poured. Instead, the two halves instantly reconnected. Shanks, confused, took a step back. "What are you..."
Era chuckled as he bent down to look at the dying remains of Soulshroud. "I'm a human, just like you."
Soulshroud moved one eye around crazily, trying to focus on Era. "Era... You're alive.. I'm so.. envious of that.."
Era gave a soft smile. "You did what you could do... There's nothing else to ask from you anymore. I'm sure Surua would be very proud of you for trying your best. It's a shame you're dying. Hehe.."
"Surua.." muttered Soulshroud. "I want to see my captain again.. One last time.."
Era chuckled, and placed a hand on his head, stroking his hair. "I'm afraid you do not get that privilege, Soulshroud." He crushed Soulshroud's skull. "Because you failed."
Shanks, the and the rest of the crew, watched in horror as Era did the cruel things he did. "Era.. is that your name?" muttered Shanks. "Was he your partner?"
Era stood up, turning and looking at Shanks with a simple smile. "That's right. He was."
Shanks frowned, clenching the hilt of his sword. Anger was building. "And you just killed him!? As if it was nothing at all!"
Era grinned. "Indeed."
"You bastard!" Shanks shouted out, dashing right towards Era. He lifted his sword high, ready to sever Era, even if it didn't work.
Era lifted up a hand as Shanks rushed him. "Your spirit is familiar... Since Soulshroud failed.. Maybe you can fill his place in my plans, hmm?" Shanks vanished in an instant, in mid attack, simply gone.
"W-what the hell!? What happened to captain!? Where did he go!?" yelled out the crew, looking around.
Era chuckled at them. "Fools. He's going to follow my plans now. I suggest you go to Mariejoa and save any survivors. It would be a shame if everyone there died."
"W-what are you talking about?" muttered Ben, turning towards the land in the distance, where Mariejoa sat. "Mariejoa is--!!"
Suddenly, a huge explosion erupted in the center of Mariejoa, the shockwave and mushroom cloud created could be seen even from Shank's distant ship. Everyone's jaw dropped, wondering what could have happened.
"What did you do!?" shouted out Yasopp at Era, but Era had already vanished. "W-where did he.. go?"
"No time," muttered Ben. "Even if that guy was the enemy.. He is right. We have to go and check for survivors! And for Shanks... He's our captain, the strongest guy we know. He'll be fine."
"H-Hey!" shouted out Luffy, pointing at Reiku, who was still sitting on the floor, blood running down his face. "I remember you! You were that weirdo on the giant ship!"
"Y-you know him?" muttered Kusu towards Luffy, her voice almost completely gone from the shock. She turned back towards Reiku. "B..Brother.. What are you doing here!?"
Reiku was still shocked as well, and couldn't say a single word. He finally managed to get to his feet, and he took a few moments to examine his surroundings. "Everything is.. in black and white. Heh... So he really did it, huh?"
Kusu frowned. "You.."
Reiku turned back towards Kusu. "Sister. It's been far too long." He opened his arms to offer a friendly hug. A soft smile sat on his face.
Kusu seemed reluctant at first, and then responded by opening her arms up as well. A somewhat forced smile appeared on her face, and they exchanged a small hug. Luffy sat on the bed, staring at them both with a little frown on his face.
"I thought you were a bad guy," muttered Luffy, pointing at Reiku. "What's going on... This person saved my life, and she's your sister?"
Reiku grinned, looking at Luffy. "Surprise I see you here, heheh." He turned back towards Kusu. "Ah, she's not my sister by blood, but we're close enough to call each other relatives, don't you think, Kusu?"
Kusu frowned, looking away. All she gave was a small nod. "Of course.."
Reiku frowned, reaching out and turning Kusu's head in his direction. "Don't be that way... I know I--!"
Kusu lifted her hand and slapped Reiku dead in the face in an instant. Reiku froze, his eyes wide, the red mark of a palm appearing on the side of his face.
Kusu frowned deeply, tears almost appearing in her eyes. "You've been gone for over ten years, and now you come back and expect me to be just like I was before! You idiot!"
Reiku sighed, his long, sleek hair falling in front of his eyes. "Ah... I guess I can't blame you for that.. It was my fault, I guess, after all..." Reiku looked around at the black and white surroundings. "The wind doesn't blow... There are no waves.. The sky is empty.. There is no color. I guess this is my fault..."
Kusu turned away.
Luffy sighed, scratching his head. "About that... Why is everything black and white like this? It really doesn't make any sense.."
"I was just about to explain that to you.." muttered Kusu, turning towards Luffy and completely ignoring Reiku. "About this..."
"Ah, should I explain?" asked Reiku, stepping forward. "I was here since it all started so long ago."
"No, Reiku," said Kusu sternly, turning towards Reiku. "I don't want you here at all. After everything that has happened, you really shouldn't be here at all. If you don't mind, I want you to leave."
Taking a step back, Reiku looked rather distraught over Kusu's sudden words. Of course, he didn't let this stop him. "Actually.. I wish that I could stay a while. Hehe."
Kusu opened her mouth to reject, but suddenly found that she could not speak such words. It was Reiku's ability, the ability to wish for anything. She frowned, turning back towards Luffy. "If that's what you want..."
"So about this place?" asked Luffy.
Kusu looked down. "Right.. It started about twenty years ago...."
It was like something from a nightmare.. or maybe more a dream.
In the middle of the ocean, a strange phenomenon was occurring, one that no man had ever seen before. Horribly rocky waters below and completely black thunder clouds above, all vanished at an invisible wall. Beyond the invisible wall sat an ocean of complete calmness, a world of black and white. One side of the wall was the oceans fury, and the other side was utter quietness.
A man stood up, a beer bottle in his hand. He brought it to his mouth and began chugging it down, laughing all the way.
"Zehahahaaha!" shouted out Blackbeard, pointing towards the phenomenon. "I don't know exactly what this is, but it doesn't really matter, right guys!?"
His crew, standing behind him, gave a nod.
"Right!" he shouted out. "If the compass says so, then this is where we're going! Head straight!"

Also, Luffy suddenly grows huge. It seems his Akuma, Gomu, was ripped out of him by Ko. So now Luffy must find his Akuma and somehow get reconnected with it in order to really fight Ei.
The crew eventually finds each other, and also Gomu, who is a simple little Akuma girl, and go back to Ei's Island to defeat Ei. However, Ei has shown his true plans. With Kaidou at his side, and a few other strong allies, he shows his true plan. He brings up Pluton and destroys the entire island! Luckily Kiss appears out of nowhere and saves the crew.
Now with Kiss and Gomu riding along with them, they head onwards to the next island, and hopefully to discover a way to get Gomu back with Luffy. Kiss tells them that Luffy's father, Ko, told her to protect Luffy for a while.
We also find Ko is still alive, and he wishes to go along with Luffy for a while, as a friend. Although, at the time, he actually just wants revenge.
Elbaf/Akuma World Arc:
The crew lands in the world of giants, Elbaf. However, almost immediately, the crew falls into a dark part of Elbaf, the Akuma World. It is a dark world filled with demons who attempt to get to the human world through becoming fruit.
It is here that the crew learns that Ko's father, Ira, caused the Akuma to be how it is. It also appears that it was Ira who killed Ko's family as a child and set off his hate towards humans. Luffy decided to help Ko, and they both go off to defeat Ira.
In the end of the battle, Ko defeats Ira, but looses his own life as well. However, the Akuma World is returned to it's original brightness. Luffy also gets Gomu back and turns back to his rubbery self.
The crew then leaves the Akuma World and goes back into Elbaf where trouble is brewing.
The crew gets captured and sent to get executed. Normal people are not allowed in Elbaf, so they almost get executed. This is when Kiss tells her history. She tells of how she is an Akuma, but a special one. She is a Wonder. ( NOTE: Please read the part at the very bottom to learn about Wonders and Akuma and all that good stuff. )
And Fable, the leader of Elbaf, is also a Wonder. Not only this, but we learn that Ko, who died recently, was a Wonder as well.
Determined to help Kiss, and save his friends, Luffy breaks free and starts fighting. Usopp, however, is ultimately the one who takes down Fable.
With this done, the crew leaves Elbaf.
Destroy Pluton Arc:
Luffy and the crew now have their destination sealed. Find Ei, who still has Pluton and is prepared to destroy the world, and find One Piece for himself. Eventually Luffy and his crew finds the ship and begins their fight with the crew.
It is here we meet another Wonder, Reiku, who has close relationships with Kiss. He doesn't get involved in the fights and quickly leaves with one of Ei's own men, Edge.
In the end, Luffy finally defeats Pluton and Ei by launching Pluton's own attack back at him. Everything ends well.
It is also here that Kiss finally takes her leave from the crew, heading back to Dragon, where she belongs.
Luffy and the crew sets off again.
Raftel Saga:
Era Arc:
Era, the creator of the Wonders (NOTE: again, see the Wonders thing below for info on Era and all of that stuff ), is assembling a crew to complete his plans.
He wants to merge the Akuma World and the Human World together, thus creating the true One Piece, and revive an ancient evil. However, to do this, he needs a certain person: The Final Piece. He finally finds him: Surua, the Yonkou.
Surua , reluctantly, joins Era for reasons unknown. Kiss also makes a sudden turn and shows she is working with Era as well. After Era gets his entire crew together, he sends them all on different missions to destroy all world powers.
Raftel Arc:
Luffy and the crew splits up, since Whitebeard told them they would or they would all die. ( This was only a trick Sengoku made Whitebeard do in order to separate the Straw hats. ) Luffy and Zoro eventually find themselves in a world of Black and White, and suddenly get attacked by Doflamingo and Akainu.
However, they are saved by Kusu, a bird woman, and are brought to her island: Pelican Island. Kusu then explains that Pelican Island and Raftel are the same place, and the reason everything is black and white is because… ( The reason why hasn't been explained yet. )
In other places, some of Era's crew gets defeated, and Shanks is met by Era. Shanks is then teleported somewhere else unknown.
Also, Black discovers a hole in reality which leads to the world of black and white where Raftel is. He and his crew quickly enters.
Now, for a little more explanations:
About Era: Era is the leader of the Akuma. Originally a human, he was transformed by his hate and became one of the first Akuma. However, a currently unknown entity known as Mattaki ( who seems to be the essence of the entire world ), gave Era a job to bring him back to life. Era agreed, hoping to gain revenge on the humans who betray him. He set out to create Wonders, crosses between Human and Akuma.
About Akuma: Akuma are humans who have turned away from hope and freedom. By doing so, their heart withers away and hate takes over. When this happens, the essence of the world, Mattaki, changes the human into an Akuma, a human with an ability. Naturally, Akuma are evil and bloodthirsty. However, in more recent times, some Akuma have shown to have human characteristics, like Gomu and Kiss.
About Wonders: The following list are Wonders. Wonders are made when an Akuma, or in some rare cases, a human, is stuck in a life threatening or depressing situation. They are given the opportunity by Era to get away from all their problems if they follow Era and do whatever he says. When a Wonder is made, part of Era is placed inside the Wonder, connecting them forever.

Chapter One-Hundred-Sixty-One: The Legend of Raftel Part 1
"You reached this island," said Kusu, sitting down and facing Luffy, who was sitting up in bed. "It would only be appropriate if I told you the story of this place. But first… before I say anything..."
She stood, up and walked over to a window, pulling back the blinds. "Look."
Luffy squinted his eyes, but couldn't really see, so with the help of Kusu, he walked over to the window and looked out. His jaw dropped at what he saw. In the center of this island was a mountain, but no normal mountain. It seemed more like a statue had been carved out of it, one taller than the island was long. It was the figure of a brilliant man. His face was serious, his eyes closed, and his hands were placed together as if he was praying.
"Wooow," muttered Luffy. "So big!"
Kusu nodded, leading Luffy back to the bed. "That person.. is my brother, Uzo."
"That big guy?" asked Luffy. "Was he a giant?"
Kusu shook her head. "N-no.. Not really. Hmm, I'll start at the beginning."
The ocean was clear and bright. The sky was blue, cloudless. The horizon held a single gift, a small island. The crew sitting on a small ship could hardly believe their eyes. It was really there, right in front of them.
"Captain!" shouted out Shanks, spinning around. "There it is! The end of the Grand Line!"
The ship was cluttered with pirates, some huge, small still rather young, but all with a strong will and a passion for adventure. They all turned towards the cabin door which led to the Captain's quarters. The door slowly opened, and out walked the man who was about to be known as the man who conquered the world. Gold Roger.
"So it is!" he yelled out, laughing. He walked across the deck, raising his arms. "This calls for a celebration! Everyone, get out the juice, let's drink up! Come on, everyone!" The crew bursted out in celebration, starting up music and song and food and wine.
"Captain," said Shanks, bowing a little. "We made it!"
Roger looked down at Shanks, chuckling. "That we did. Now go and have fun."
Shanks gave a nod and joined the rest of the crew to party. Roger looked at his crew and smiled. This, before him, was truly the best sight a pirate could ever ask for. The end of a journey stood right before him, and behind him was a crew full of smiles.
However, there was one problem. Roger was not smiling.
"Captain," said Rayleigh, Roger's right hand man. "You're not feeling well again, is that it? I don't think so..."
Roger turned and looked at Rayleigh, smiling a little. "Don't worry about it, my friend. I'm more happy now than I ever have been." He turned towards Raftel. "Ah, this island... It doesn't have a name, right? I should think of one when we land..."
Roger then turned and began walking back under deck. When called by his crew, he said he would be back soon, and not to land without him.
Above Roger, he heard the noise of dancing and cheering. However, under deck, where he stood, there was nothing but cold damp darkness. Roger's eyes slowly opened, slightly shining like steel. He turned a little and grabbed a chair, pulling it over to him so he could sit. He then lit a single candle, and the orange light illuminated his weary face.
"We made it," said Roger.
Out of the darkness stepped forward a figure with a devious smile spread across his scarred face. He took off his purple straw hat, spinning it around his finger. "Very well done, Roger," said Era. "Very well done, my Wonder."
Roger frowned, turning around towards the light of the candle. "I want it back. My freedom."
Era smiled, as if hearing those words brought happiness to his face. He walked over to Roger, looking into the flame of the candle. "About a year ago you were about to die, remember that? If I remember correctly, I was the one who got rid of your disease and kept you alive. Isn't that right?"
"I made a mistake," said Roger, clenching his fists.
"A mistake?" chuckled Era. "I see it as the perfect thing to do."
Roger shook his head. "No... I wanted to go on with my crew to the end of the world, but not without my freedom. Without it... From this point on I'll just be a burden to them all..."
"Don't say that," smiled Era. "You're nothing of the sort. I kept you alive by giving you part of my soul, my right arm, right? With it, you continued your journey and reached the end of the world. What is the problem?"
"You are the problem," muttered Roger. "I had to follow whatever you said.. And I shouldn't of.. But now, it's too late.."
"You're right, it is much too late," chuckled Era. "You brought me to the place I wanted to go. This island is 'his' heart. This island is the weakest point in the world. This island is where I'll make 'him' return to life."
Roger frowned, looking at Era. "Tell me.. who is 'he'?"
"He, you ask? He is the original, the first, the beginning, the One. When darkness first formed in human's hearts, the began to come together as one, and he was created. He was the first doubt, the first evil, in this entire world. You pathetic humans.. Back then, the first King attempted to lock him away in the world he created, the Akuma World. He succeeded, unfortunately. And then in later generations, King Surua attempted to destroy that Akuma World."
"Surua," said Roger. "The Yonkou."
"The same one," nodded Era. "But this one was from a great distant time. His attempt to destroy the Akuma World, however, failed. Thanks to me and my Wonders, we destroyed the world, creating the Red and Grand Line. And now, the final stages of my plan are falling into order."
"This island is 'his' heart, and the weakest point separating the Akuma and Human worlds. As soon as I locate the Final Piece, I can unlock 'his' heart, and he will live again as One Piece."
"One Piece...?" muttered Roger, looking at Era.
Era smiled. "Yes. Sounds like the name you would give to a legendary treasure, doesn't it? Hehe.." Era blew out the candle, and darkness spread.
"Good bye, Roger. Thank you for bringing me to this island, my Wonder."
Roger sat there, alone, rubbing his brow. What had he gotten himself into? His since of pride had taken him over. He wanted to be the best, the man who conquered the world, and he achieved that, but at the cost of his own free will. What would he do, knowing that he was the one who caused the end of the world?
"C-captain?" muttered a small voice from the corner.
Roger nearly fell out of his chair at the sound, and quickly lit the candle back up to get a better view of who it was. There, in the corner, sat a small child. However, this was no normal girl... She had two wings growing from her back, and a beak where her nose should be.
"Are you a sky person?" he asked, the times in Sky Island coming back to mind.
"N-no... I don't think so," muttered the girl. She stepped forward, nearly tripping. She looked very young, maybe six or seven at most. "My name is Kusu, and I'm lost."
Roger frowned, holding out a hand. Kusu, shyly, took it, and Roger pulled her into the light. She seemed to have a few scratches on her face. "You seem hurt," he muttered. "One moment." Roger reached on a nearby table and took out two bandages, which he quickly put on Kusu's cheeks. "There."
Kusu smiled a little, rubbing them. "Thank you," she muttered.
"How did you get here?" asked Roger. "And.. why did you call me... captain?"
Kusu looked up, her large eyes seeming to take up most her face. "Because that's what I heard everyone else saying.. I thought it would be right if I said it too!" Kusu then frowned, looking around. "And I don't know how I got here... One minute I was on the island with brother, and the next thing I realized was I was on this ship! I'm really confused..."
"Well where do you live?" asked Roger, seeing the problem. "I might be able to take you back.. It's dangerous being on my crew."
Kusu shook her head. "I don't know where it is, but my island is called Pelican Island."
Roger smiled. "An appropriate name."
The cabin doors opened, and Roger's crew cheered as Roger stepped forward, a smile on his face. "Excuse me my crew, but I'm afraid we have a problem. That island, the end of the Grand Line, it'll have to wait."
Roger picked up the small bird girl. "This girl needs our help. We must first take her home."
"Oh, there it is," said Kusu, pointing to the final island. "That's home."
Roger's jaw dropped, the sense of a new adventure fading completely from his body. Also, it was quite the surprise. "T-that's your island?" muttered Roger, hardly believing it. "Are you serious?"
"Yep," said Kusu, snickering. "My brother is probably waiting for me there!"
Roger sighed, putting Kusu down on her feet and scratching his head. "Well, I guess that's that. Everyone, full speed to that island!"
The crew bursted out in celebration once more, and Kusu joined them, even though she hadn't a clue what they were celebrating at all.
The ship slowly reached the shoreline and the anchor was dropped. Roger was the first one to jump down and step food on the island, making him the first person to circle the entire world. He smiled, getting the first look out of his crew of the new island.
What he saw was rather disappointing of the final island. For now, there was only sand, and a little further into the island was tall bamboo and some exotic looking trees. The typical sounds of a deserted island could be heard.
"Are you sure this is your island?" asked Roger as Kusu jumped down beside him.
Kusu gave a nod. "Yup! I recognize--!!"
Suddenly, out of the trees, sprang a group of three rather tall and strong looking bird people, each one with spears grasped tightly into their hands. The pointed all three spears right at Roger, just inches from his throat.
"Captain!" shouted out Shanks from the ship, but Roger raised a hand signaling them not to do anything.
"Don't move!" shouted out the Tori, the name of the bird people. "One move and we'll kill you now!"
"N-no, don't!" shouted out Kusu, jumping up and trying to stop them. "He's a good guy, I promise!"
"Kusu!" shouted out one of the Tori. "Step back now before he does anything! We can't risk you getting hurt! Now!"
Kusu frowned, trying to think of what to do. "Really, he's not a bad person... You can trust him."
Roger looked at the Tori, then down at Kusu. He smiled a little. However, the entire situation was interrupted the sound of a huge roar from somewhere inside the jungle. The Tori spun around at the sound, frowning. Then, from the jungle, a giant dinosaur appeared, snarling and roaring at them.
"C-crap!" they shouted out. "It's one of the beasts! It's back!"
"A dinosaur," said Roger, stepping forward. "So this is an ancient island, huh? Interesting."
"What did you call it?" muttered one of the Tori. "It's one of the legendary beasts! Don't get close to it or it'll surely kill you!"
Roger smirked. "You don't trust me, right? And this thing has been tormenting you, is that it? Heh, then I guess this should gain your trust!"
Roger vanished in an instant, appearing right before the giant monster's face. Roger gave a bright smile, pulling back his powerful right fist. The creature nearly fainted right at the sight of Roger, but didn't get a chance. With all his power, Roger punched the creature, sending it soaring off into the distance.
Roger then landed on the ground, laughing. "That's that!"
The Tori were amazed, their jaw dropped at what they just saw. Whoever this man was, he was certainly no weakling. They bowed. "T-thank you for getting rid of the beast, and thank you for returning our princess."
Roger raised an eyebrow, looking over at Kusu. "What...? Princess?"
Kusu chuckled a little. "Oh, yeah! I'm Kusu, the Hawk Princess!"

"So this is where you live?" asked Roger, walking with Kusu. Kusu was pulling Roger along, her hand in his, a grin on her face.
"Yup!"
The town was rather small actually, and Roger wouldn't really label something like this a town. He had seen amazing places in his adventures, places that dwarfed this by miles and miles. It was basically made up of a few dozen houses made primarily of bamboo and sticks, almost resembling nests. In the center of the town was a fountain, water spurting out of the top and raining down into the well.
All around the town were many bird people, Tori, who seemed interested in Roger as he began walking forward. Some, however, were afraid and quickly rushed into their houses, others watching curiously.
"Why do they hide?" asked Roger to one of the Tori who had met him when he first landed on the island. "Are they not used to humans?"
The Tori soldier frowned, not looking directly at Roger as he spoke. "No, we are very used to humans… Much more than we ever wish to be." The soldier stopped at the corner of the town, looking forward.
Roger frowned at what he saw. Ruble. Destruction. It seemed this small town had actually, at one point, been much larger. Now all that was left was the burnt remains of buildings and towers. And among this rubble were grave markers.
"So..." muttered Roger, the feeling of death in the air. "This is why they don't like me... When did this happen?"
The Soldier bent down, running his fingers through the charred dirt. "Many years ago, centuries.." The Soldier then frowned, standing up and looking at Roger in the eye. "I know what you're thinking, but we do not care how much you humans have changed. The hate between us will last forever for what you did to us.."
Roger turned. "Of course. I understand.." Roger looked back at the destruction. "One question... You said this happened centuries ago.. How many, exactly?"
The Soldier spoke clearly and perfectly. "Eight hundred years ago."
Roger's eyes went wide, and a smile almost grew on his face. He hadn't met anyone who knew about that date, other than Era. It almost made him happy that he could talk about it with someone else. "Ah, but how do you know about it? Word of mouth through the ages?"
The Soldier looked at Roger curiously, raising an eyebrow. "If you really want to know... Follow me."
The Soldier led the way through the town with Roger behind him. Roger had told his crew to stay back at the ship, since he didn't want them to get involved in anything yet. He told them that he would come back soon and they would go exploring on the final island.
However, Roger wasn't completely alone. There was still one other person who called him "captain" following behind. Kusu, carefree and smiling, trotted along, not paying much attention to where they were really going. Roger honestly didn't mind though, and even if he did, he had no place to tell her to go away.
The Soldier then stopped, and Roger did as well. Kusu kept walking and bumped into Roger, but quickly stood back up, chuckling. Roger frowned, looking at what he saw. It was a cathedral. It stood large and brilliant, the only structure in the entire town that held any real wonderment. Two separate towers on each side rose high in the sky, reflecting the sun brightly.
"This was once our main place of worship hundreds of years ago. It signifies the endless free sky."
Roger smiled. "If I believed in a god, the sky one would be who I would worship as well."
The Soldier then signaled Roger to follow him, and he began to slowly walk up the stairs towards the giant entrance doors. Kusu followed behind, familiar with this place. It was where she was born.
The Soldier, with the help of Roger, pushed open the giant doors, their creaking sound echoing inside the huge place. They then walked inside, and darkness overtook them. Roger frowned, looking at the huge windows. Why was light not flowing through? This place... it was rather eerie.
"There it is," said the Soldier, stopping in the middle of the main room. He pointed forward, and on a stand stood exactly what Roger was expecting to see.
"A Poneglyph," said Roger, stepping forward and running his fingers down the cold stone. His eyes read the words, and it was just as the Soldier had described. Many years ago humans invaded Pelican Island. The Tori were a peaceful race, but the sudden charge of the humans caused them to revolt. Although the Tori knew not what the humans wanted, they did know they had to protect this Cathedral with all their might. In the end, only destruction and death was in the air. However, one thing remained standing. The Cathedral is still alive. Hope is not gone.
"Hope is not gone..." muttered Roger, reading the words again. He looked around. What a brilliant place.. "Do you know what it means?"
The Soldier shook his head. "No, we do not. All we know is that we must continue to protect this place. You seem as if you've read something like this before?"
Roger nodded. "That's right. I once visited Sky Island, an island sitting in the clouds. I read very similar words there. However, they were protecting a bell there. It seems here you people are protecting this Cathedral. And there was one other thing..."
Roger turned, smiling. "They were wearing wings, just like yours."
The Tori frowned a little. "Is that so."
Roger then turned back to the Poneglyph, reading it again. For some reason, he felt like he was missing something. An important key that held the way to save everything... It then hit him. Roger's jaw dropped and he nearly fell backwards. Why didn't he notice it before? It was so obvious now...
"I-Is something wrong?" muttered the Soldier.
Roger shook his head. "No, not at all... I think I've just figured something out..."
Roger rushed out of the Cathedral, the others following close behind. Thoughts were rushing through Roger's mind like crazy, and he could hardly keep up with himself. That Cathedral.. The Bell from Skypiea.. They were both trying to be protected. Why? That last sentence was the reason: "There is still hope."
Roger smiled to himself. Era's plan was about to fail horribly. Roger had given up his freedom to live selfishly, but now he would rise above that and stop Era for good. His plan of awaking 'him' would not succeed, no matter what.
"It's these creations, these brilliant things made from humans, that will stop Era once and for all," said Roger.
The Soldier raised an eyebrow. "E-excuse me?"
Roger turned, forgetting he was being followed. "Ah, it's nothing." Roger reached a food stand and took a seat, the owners stepping back afraid. Roger rubbed his chin, thinking deeply.
Era said this island is his heart. Skypiea must also be some kind of vital part to this thing. And those two things, the Cathedral and the Bell, they are the key in stopping Era. That was it. As long as the Bell and as long as the Cathedral stood tall then 'he' could not resurface. As long as both of these 'locks' continued to survive, Era could not complete his plans.
Roger smiled. "It's perfect."
Roger rushed to his crew, jumping on deck. "Alright everyone, listen up! An enemy is gonna appear here soon, but we're not going to let him take over this island!? Got me!? Good! Come on everyone, we're going to protect this place even if we die!"
The crew did not need a reason why. The honest and inspiring words of their captain was all they ever needed. They all rushed off the ship, heading back into town. Once they reached town, however, the same guards were blocking the way in.
"W-what are you doing!? Planning to attack us again, you filthy humans? We don't think so! We will not let you pass!"
Roger smiled, placing his hand on the Soldier's shoulder. "Ah, don't worry about that, soldier. We're here to protect this place, not burn it to the ground."
The Soldier looked at Roger frowning, and Roger gave a huge smile back.
"We'll protect you for sure!"
"Captain."
Roger froze, turning around. His crew shook their heads. It wasn't them who said captain? Then who...? Roger then turned back to town, and there, standing at the corner of a building, was young Kusu, tears in her eyes. Roger rushed forward, regardless of the soldiers.
"Kusu, what's the matter?" he asked.
Kusu rubbed her eyes, sniffling. "I-I found my brother.. but something isn't right..."
Kusu stepped back, and Roger looked over the corner. There, laying on the ground, was a rather tall man with long, blonde hair and two metallic wings protruding from his back. However, he wasn't moving and blood was everywhere.
-
Chapter 162 and 163 is presented in a special Double Chapter! Don't forget to read them both! Chapter One-Hundred-Sixty-Three: I Will Have Hope Forever
Kusu had discovered a horrible sight. She found her brother bruised and bleeding, half dead, in the middle of town. With Roger's help, he took the man into a small hut and laid him on the bed. From there, the full extent of his wounds could be seen. Roger could barely believe this man was breathing.
After hearing that the town had no doctors, Roger summoned his own, Kureha, to take care of the man and patch up his wounds.
"This is your brother?" asked Roger. He was sitting one one side of the walls. Kusu and a few Tori were sitting on the other. In the center of the room was the bed in which the brother was laying on, Kureha working his best to fix him up.
Kusu nodded a little. "Yup.. Although.. He doesn't look like my brother, but I know he is."
Roger raised an eyebrow. "What do you mean?"
Kusu covered her face, trying to stop her tears. "Uzo.. my brother.. He is shorter than me.. I don't know why he is so tall now.."
Frowning, Roger could think of nothing to ease the moment. He simply sat there, calmly, waiting for the moment Uzo would wake back up. Roger knew he was here to protect the island, but for some reason he felt like he should be sitting here waiting.
Previously, he had sent Rayleigh and the rest of his crew to surround the island and the Cathedral, so he knew protecting the island was in good hands. For now, he sat, waiting.
It was nearly three hours later until the first sounds escaped Uzo's lips. The sound was so loud due to the quietness of the room that everyone nearly fell over in surprise. They all stood up, rushing over towards Uzo.
"Stay back!" shouted Kureha, and everyone froze. "He is just waking up.. Being surrounded like this isn't something he should see."
Slowly, Uzo's eyes began to open and adjust to the light. He reached up and grabbed his forehead, his head pounding with pain. However, he felt something strange. Bandages? He nearly jumped out of bed with surprise, realizing what was going on.
"G-get back down!" shouted Kureha, round house kicking Uzo back onto the bed. "Don't move or I'll kill you!"
"What!?" shouted Kusu, jumping up and down trying to get through the adults to see her brother. "Don't hurt Uzo!"
"Quite a violent doctor," muttered the soldiers to themselves. "Yeah…"
Uzo, once getting used to where he was, looked around. Breathing hard, he slowly began to remember what was going on. Unlike a normal person however, he simply bursted out his main objective loud and clear. "I have come with a message for this island!"
Everyone frowned, looking at each other, then back at Uzo. "What?"
"Brother!"
Kusu jumped from within the crowd, landing right on top of Uzo and hugging him. Uzo was taken aback by the sudden reaction, but smiled softly, holding her as well. "Kusu, I'm glad to see you're alive..."
Kusu looked up, chuckling. "Why wouldn't I be, brother?"
Uzo chuckled. "You're right. Ah, I have an idea! We were playing hide and seek, right? Well, you seem to have found me, so now it's my turn! Go hide now!"
Kusu half frowned. "But shouldn't you get better fir--"
"One... Two... Three..."
Kusu gasped and jumped off the bed, running at full speed out of the hut and off to a safe hiding place. Once she was gone, Uzo gave a sigh of relief, holding his head and thinking. What he just did seemed to hurt him, but he couldn't do it any other way.
He then looked up and to his right. Without even looking, he knew who was there. "Roger."
Roger frowned, looking at Uzo. "W-what did you just say? How do you know my name?"
Uzo was silent a moment, thoughts rushing through his head. A deep frown was on his face, and his eyes were closed tightly. He clenched his fists, pulling at the sheets around him. He then looked over at Roger, almost not wanting to see his face. "Because in the future I watched you die."
Roger was taken aback completely. This.. couldn't be real, could it? There were too many problems.. First of all.. The future? And secondly, Roger couldn't die. He was supposed to stay at this island and protect the Cathedral, preventing Era from reviving 'him'.
"Explain," said Roger, simply.
Uzo nodded. "Of course... That is why I am here, to tell you what I have saw. First of all.. I have eaten a Devil Fruit, one that allows me to travel through time and space. I grew up in this world, and the future I have lived through is horrible..."
Uzo closed his eyes, repeating what he saw in his words. "Tonight, you will fail in protecting this island. Era will come here with his closest Wonders and completely destroy everything here. Nothing will be left. The Cathedral will fall and 'his' heart will be open."
Roger frowned. Could it be true? He.. failed?
"You get killed by Era, even though the battle is long. Everyone fails. Era then finds the Final Piece, Surua, and persuades him to open the border between the Akuma and Human worlds. Once this is done, 'he' becomes One Piece again."
"No..." muttered Roger.
"He and Era work together and send the world into chaos, destroying everything. Nothing will remain but sadness and agony. That is the future of this poor world."
Roger slammed his fist down. "NOOOO!" he yelled out at the top of his lungs. His breathing became harder and sweat formed on his brow. "I don't believe this! I.. I did a terrible thing.. I became this man's Wonder and led him to this place! It is my fault that the world is going to be destroyed! And are you telling me there is absolutely nothing I can do about it!?"
Uzo frowned, looking at Roger. "I did not say that."
Roger paused, his heart skipping a beat. "What...?"
Uzo sighed, going over his plan in his mind. "I barely escaped from the future and made it here. I have figured out it is because this island was destroyed is the reason Era was able to take over. If we can protect this single island than the world will have a chance."
Uzo looked over at Roger. "But I cannot do this alone. You want to save the world, don't you? I need your help to do that."
Roger nodded. "Of course... What do you need?"
"Rip off your arm, tell the world about this island, and die," said Uzo plainly.
Roger's heart skipped a beat again, this time somewhat surprised at how straightforward the answer was. He took a deep breath, scratching his head. Even though the words were plain, the plan was clearly mapped out in his mind.
"Alright, I will do that," said Roger.
Uzo smiled. "Good. Your part in this plan is to inform the world. My part will be protecting this island. If we work together, then maybe the future will have a chance."
"Then let's do this," said Roger with a smile on his face.
The sun was setting.
Roger called all his men back to his ship, telling them to hurry. Confused, they questioned their captain, but he told them it was for the best, that they were going to leave the island in very capable hands. He was the last person to step foot on the ship.
"Captain," muttered Shanks, looking at the island. "Are we really leaving...? This is the final island.. Is it really over?"
Roger gave a big grin, putting his hand on Shank's shoulder. "Over? Hahah, not at all, Shanks." He turned, looking at the island as his ship slowly sailed away. "This is only the start of the next generation."
As the ship slowly sailed away, a voice could be heard. Roger squinted his eyes, and there, on the shore, he saw Kusu waving her arms wildly.
"Byeeeee Captain!" she yelled out, smiling. "Thanks for taking me hooome!"
Roger chuckled, waving back as well. "You're welcome, Kusu! Take care!" A tear ran down his face, and he turned, walking into his cabin.
On the island, Uzo stood in the center of town. All the Tori had been told to leave, but they refused, saying that they would rather stay on this island, regardless of what would follow. Beside Uzo stood Kusu, who simply smiled up at her brother.
Uzo smiled down. And then, a figure appeared behind him.
"So, you're going to do it, eh?" asked Reiku, smiling a little. "So brave of you."
Uzo turned back towards Reiku. "That is right," he said. "You were once my Akuma no Mi," he continued. "Although you aren't now, you know Kusu better than anyone else in this world. When I'm gone, I want you to swear to protect her no matter what."
Reiku shrugged. "Sure, I will."
Uzo nodded, then turned to Kusu, bending down and putting his hands on her shoulder. "Listen, Kusu, I have to do something important, and I might never be back. From now on, I want you to call Reiku 'brother'. Okay?"
Kusu frowned a little. "Where are you going?"
"Don't worry about that. Just promise me."
Kusu gave a small nod, and Uzo stood back up tall. In his mind he went over what he was about to do. He was going to freeze this island in time, causing no human to ever see it again, including Era. However, it wasn't impossible to find it again either. Those with a strong will would eventually discover it.
Uzo could only hope it was a good generation that would find it first, and not Era.
"Goodbye," said Uzo. He slammed his palms together, as if he was praying. From around him formed a strange glow of purple and black and blue, almost resembling an aura. This aura didn't move at first, but suddenly shot out in all directions, covering everything and freezing it in time.
Kusu frowned, and everything went dark.
A few moments later, Kusu could see again. However, what she saw was a horrible sight. There was no longer color or light. Only black and white. Time was no longer moving. All her friends were simply standing there, frozen. She was the only one that could move. She was alone.
And before her stood a huge statue of her brother, standing above the island. Kusu knew, however, that this was no statue. It was her brother protecting the island.
She cried.
The scene was Lougetwown, a small island located near the Grand Line. It was a rainy day, but that didn't stop the center of the town from being filled with people. Pirates, revolutionaries, and normal civilians, everyone, was here for the grand event.
The execution of the Pirate King, Gold Roger.
Slowly, led by two soldiers, Roger walked through the crowd, heading for the stand where he would be killed. A broad smile was on his face as he walked. He looked out to the crowd, and although they were yelling for his death, he knew he was dying for their life.
Slowly they walked up the stairway, finally reaching the stop. Roger stood in the center, looking down at the huge crowd that stood before him. He even recognized a few of his own crew members standing about, his own orders for them not to interfere.
Roger looked at his right arm. It was truly his own right arm. In his mind he said, "I ripped off my right arm. I am no longer a Wonder."
Roger then looked back at the crowd, smiling like never before. "You want my treasure!?" he shouted out loud and clear, causing the entire place to go silent. "Well go and find it! I left it all at that place!"
Roars from the crowd quickly started up again, and Roger chuckled to himself. In his mind, he said these words: "I've informed the world."
The two guards at his side readied their spears, and in one quickly action, they stabbed them through his body. Roger, however, did not even flinch, but continued to stand tall. Blood seeped from his body, painting the stand in red.
He smiled brightly, falling to his knees. In his mind he said these words: "Since I am no longer a Wonder, and I will not be able to stay alive... And so, I will die."
The two spears were pulled out of Roger.
He stood there, covered in blood, looking at the huge crowd, a grin on his face, a tear in his eye.
He fell to his side, the world going blurry and dark. Lightning flew across the sky, and Roger saw nothing but darkness.
"Even though I am gone, I am the man that conquered the entire world, the Pirate King! However... the future is still unclear... I leave it to the next generation to save this world! Even though today is the day I die..."
"I will have hope forever."

Chapter One-Hundred-Sixty-Four: A Short Chapter
The scene is Pelican Island, known by the world as Raftel. The are around the island is stuck in time, a black and white world where only those with a powerful will can enter. It is here that Luffy and Zoro find themselves being taken care of by a Tori, a bird girl, and the only survivor on the island.
Upon the highest peak stands a stone statue that was once Uzo, the man who froze time to stop evil from entering. At the foot of the statue sits a small town, all the inhabitants in it completely frozen in time. Only Kusu, inside her small hut, and Luffy and Zoro, are free of the time.
"And that's the story," said Kusu, sighing and looking down. The sadness in her eyes was clear. Reiku simply sat on the floor, smiling to himself. He remembered it very well.
Luffy jumped out of bed, regardless of the pain, and placed a hand on Kusu's shoulder. Kusu looked up, confused. Luffy then smiled brightly, the same kind of smile Roger had many years ago.
"Then the only thing we can do is keep it up! Whenever this Era guy gets here I'll send him flying!"
Kusu's eyes went wide, and a small smile appeared on her face. Just as quickly though, Kusu slapped Luffy, causing him to fall on the bed. "I don't think so," said Kusu. "Not in your condition. You're going to need some rest if you want to take on that guy."
Luffy smiled brightly. "Heheh, so.. this Era guy.. he's gonna be my final enemy before I become the Pirate King, right?"
Kusu nodded, smiling. "That's right. If you beat Era, you will become the Pirate King."
Luffy's eyes went bright and he clenched his fist. He decided then that there would be no other way. He would take down Era no matter what it took. He would win and become the Pirate King!
"Hehehe," chuckled Reiku from the corner, standing back up. "Luffy, you're a pretty interesting kid. Wanting to defeat Era, huh?" Reiku walked over to Luffy, smiling at him. "I'm afraid you'll never be able to do that."
"W-what!?" shouted out Luffy, nearly ripping his wound back open. "What are you talking about!? Of course I can beat him!"
Reiku shook his head. "No, you can't." Reiku turned around, seeing Kusu's angered face, but he paid it no attention. "There is something you need to know about that man named Era. He is unstoppable."
Reiku lifted his arms in the air. "Even I could not wish that man away! You want to know the reason? You want to know why he's immortal?" Reiku spun around and pointed to himself. "Because of us Wonders."
Luffy frowned, confused. "W-wonders? Wait a minute! Kiss, she told me she was one! What does it have to do with Era?"
Reiku chuckled. "Oh, yes, Kiss is one as well. You see, Wonders are us people who decide to follow Era, and in return we get to live. When a Wonder is made, Era places a small part of himself inside us Wonders, and that is what keeps us alive. However, in doing so, the original body of Era's becomes immortal."
Reiku sat down, lifting a finger and facing Luffy. "Basically, the only way to kill Era is for all his Wonders to die."
Luffy's eyes went wide and he frowned. His strength dropped dead that instant. To get rid of Era… Kiss would have to die? "No," said Luffy plainly, clenching his fists. "That's not gonna happen! Kiss will live!"
Reiku chuckled, standing up. "If that's the case then Era will live too. Kiss, myself, and Erukia will have to die if you want him to die. That's the only way."
Luffy frowned, not wanting to believe the truth. "I'll find another way."
"Whatever," said Reiku. He turned towards Kusu. "Hey, sister, I think I'm gonna hang out here for a while. I was told by Era to chill here after killing Dragon, and since Kiss did that for me, there's no reason for me to go anywhere."
Kusu spun around, her jaw dropping. "W-what did you just say!? Why didn't you mention that earlier!? Era is coming here now? No.. he can't.. I can't let him inside this island!"
"Wait a minute!" yelled out Luffy, nearly falling out of his bed to get back to his feet. He grabbed Reiku by the neck of his shirt, pulling him forward. "What the hell did you say!? Kiss... killed Dragon?"
Reiku smiled. "That's right."
Luffy pushed Reiku away, falling back to the bed. He was getting so confused by this all. "Kiss.. is working for that Era guy? But why.. What's going on here!?"
Kusu nodded. "You're working for that man!? After you saw what he almost did to the world, you're standing by his side!? What's going on!?"
Reiku smiled. "You guys have to realize something. I'm not working for anyone. I wasn't working for Ei and I'm not working for Era." Reiku smiled. "I'm doing what it takes to live another day."
Reiku snapped. "I'm a pretty greedy guy you know. I want to live forever too."
Kusu frowned, stepping forward. "So you would work for a guy that nearly destroyed the world just to live forever?"
Reiku nodded. "That's right."
Something quite strange happened. Kusu reached for a sword at her side which no one had paid much attention to. In one mighty sweep she swung the blade straight at Reiku. At the exact same moment, Luffy threw a powerful punch straight for him.
"I wish I didn't get hit," said Reiku, and he instantly vanished, reappearing on the opposite side of the room. Kusu and Luffy spun around, anger clear in their face. "Your rage is clear, and understandable. But I'm afraid this is the way it is."
Reiku turned around, walking towards the walls. "I wish I could walk through objects. See you guys later. Era is on his way." Reiku vanished behind the wall.
"Is it true?"
Luffy and Kusu looked towards the second bed where Zoro was laying. It seemed he was awake and he had heard everything. Zoro quickly sat up, and regardless of his wounds, he acted as if he was perfectly fine.
He walked over towards Luffy. "If that's it, then Luffy, find a way to win. You're gonna be the Pirate King, right?" Zoro picked up his three swords and placed them at his side. "Luffy, I can't help you with this.. You go and become the Pirate King." Zoro headed towards the door.
"H-Hey, where're you going!?" called out Luffy and Kusu.
"I saw Mihawk," said Zoro plainly.
Luffy paused, then lowered his arms, smiling a little. "Oh yah. Then it's no problem. Go beat him, Zoro!"
Zoro nodded, smiling. "Of course. Do the same, Luffy. See ya."
Luffy and Zoro went their different ways, and they wouldn't see each other until the end.
Kusu stood there, her jaw dropped, staring. "Wait... What just happened? You're letting your companion leave!? Are you really a captain?"
Luffy nodded. "I promised Zoro that if my dream ever got in the way of his, he wouldn't hesitate to leave. That's just the way it is! Hahaha!"
Kusu frowned, standing there. "I see..."
On the shore of Pelican Island, a few ships were docked on the edges. Everyone looked at each other, then back at the island. Their eyes could hardly believe what they were seeing. From within a small village not far away they heard Luffy's yell.
"So, we made it!" shouted out Usopp, smiling.
The entire Straw Hat crew, Nami, Sanji, Usopp, Robin, Chopper, Brook, and Franky all took their first steps on Raftel.
"Let's go!"
At the same time, another person landed on the island. It was Erukia, his pale and unmoving shape slowly walking around. He looked around, taking every sight possible. His extra-ordinary senses easily picked up the feelings of the Straw Hat crew.
"Era told me to eliminate these guys.. So I guess I have to do that if that's what Captain Surua wants... I guesss..."

Chapter One-Hundred-Sixty-Five: Erukia the Wonder
The Mugiwaras had landed on Raftel, also known as Pelican Island. Hearing Luffy's voice inside the town nearby, the quickly ran in that direction. It had been a few days since they had lost saw their captain, and they were anxious to see him again.
"Isn't this place weird to you?" asked Usopp as they dashed forward. "I mean, I was expecting something more from Raftel. Maybe this isn't the place–!! Wow!" Usopp just spotted the giant stone Uzo standing high above the island. He nearly fell over at the sight.
"That's amazing!" yelled out Chopper in his high voice, almost falling with Usopp.
Robin frowned, concentrating on it. As she did, she noticed that upon one of the arms of the giant Uzo was a temple, or more like a cathedral. Although this might not interest the others, this highly interested her. She was finally on Raftel, where the last Poneglyph was said to be, where the True History was.
"Ah, wait, is that.." started Franky, seeing someone down the road. "Zoro!"
Indeed, it was Zoro walking down the path, a rather serious frown on his face, all three swords at his side. The Mugiwaras stopped when they met up. "Zoro, there you are! Is Luffy here somewhere too?"
Zoro paused, looking at everyone. He then motioned back towards town. "Yeah, he's in one of the buildings, can't remember which one. He's with some bird lady. Anyway, I'm heading out."
"W-what!?" yelled out Usopp. "Wait a minute! You can't just leave, we're on Raftel!"
"Oh really?" asked Zoro looking around. "Hadn't noticed. Well anyway, see you guys later."
"H-hey, wait!"
"Don't bother with him," muttered Sanji. "He's too much of an idiot to pay any attention to what we say anyway. Let's go find Luffy."
And so the Mugiwaras crossed paths with Zoro, and Zoro left to find his goal. The Mugiwaras checked the first few houses, but found only people who seemed to be frozen in time, like statues. They didn't really get it, but they knew they had to find Luffy first.
They reached town square, near the base of the giant Uzo. There was only a single house left, near the edge, and that must be where Luffy was. Just as they started towards it, a voice called out to them. A small, innocent, sounding voice.
"Stop," said Erukia, appearing between them and the hut. Erukia was a small wonder, short blonde hair on his head, pale slanted eyes on his face. His arms lay calmly at his side, his black cloak across his shoulders. "I can't let you pass. According to Surua, you'll have to be destroyed."
The crew looked at each other, then back at the little boy. Nami decided to take control. She walked over towards Erukia, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Hello little one. What are you doing way out here? Is there other people?"
Erukia looked up at Nami, frowning. "You need to die." Out of nowhere, Erukia pulled out a rocket launcher from within his coat, pointing it right at Nami. Immediately, in a burst, a rocket flew out, followed by a huge explosion that rocked the town.
When the dust cleared, Nami was in Sanji's arms, holding her tightly. "W-what the--!?"
Erukia looked over at Sanji. "You'll have to die as well."
"I'll take care of this!" shouted out Franky, holding out his own cannon. "If it's weaponry, he's no match for me!"
"No, Franky!" shouted out Nami. "Don't attack him! He's just a child.. We should at least find out what's going on.. Even though he did just try to kill me..."
Erukia shrugged. "It's too long of a story.. I don't feel like telling you people. If you really need to know, I'm a Wonder from Surua and Era. That's all that matters."
"Era?" asked Franky. "Surua?"
Nami nodded. "Surua is the legendary Yonkou and Era... Kiss told us about him once. He's the man who made the Wonders. Basically, our enemy!"
Erukia nodded. "Enemy.. I guess so.." Erukia quickly brought back up his cannon, launching it straight at the group. Franky jumped forward, punching the cannon with all his might, causing it to explode. Through the dust, Franky jumped forward, his fist up high, and slammed it down straight at Erukia.
However, Erukia easily dodged it, jumping back a few feet. "My senses are.. much better than all of yours. Your attacks are too easily anticipated.. Attacking me won't work, I'm afraid."
"He's just a kid," muttered Sanji, putting Nami down. "How can we loose to a brat like this!? Robin!"
Robin crossed her arms, and instantly a set of hands appeared out of Erukia, wrapping around him tightly. "You can't dodge something like this, right?"
Erukia looked down at the hands, frowning. "I guess you're right.. But I haven't lost." Erukia suddenly reached into his cloak, bringing out a bomb. "This will go off in ten seconds. If you want your arms, you'll let me go."
Robin hesitated at first but quickly brought her arms back, and the bomb was then thrown right at them. Chopper jumped forward, performing Guard Point causing the bomb to bounce off harmlessly and crash into a building, exploding.
"What's going on!?" shouted out a voice, and everyone turned towards it. Kusu had arrived, her sword in hand, facing everyone. "Intruders!? Off this island, now! This is no place for you people!"
"W-wait," called out Nami. "We're pirates!"
"That doesn't sound any better," muttered Usopp.
"Wait, Pirates?" muttered Kusu. "The Mugiwaras? Your captain is here! Luffy, right?"
Erukia quickly brought out two guns, pointing them at Kusu, and fired. Both bullets zoomed straight at her, and Kusu barely managed to deflect them with the side of her blade. Stepping back, she looked at the child. "I-I take it he's not with you, right?"
"Right about that," muttered Sanji, looking back at the kid. "He's no big problem though."
Erukia turned back towards Sanji. "You people are persistent... It's really bothersome.. I guess I have no choice.."
Erukia placed both hands on the ground, and instantly the entire island began to shake and rumble. The crew looked around, trying to figure out what was causing this sudden quake. Huge stones began to fly out of the ground, hovering in mid air.
"My ability of heightened senses.. It's because my energy flow is perfect, unlike you people.. That is my true ability. Complete control over energy."
The rocks began slamming together to form huge golems, and the trees began wrapping themselves around each other. Every piece of nature around was twisting and turning, changing into a body of it's own.
"There's something you should know," muttered Erukia, his eyes glowing. "Although I am a Wonder, created from Era... My soul is rather unique... I am the epiphany of a great entity.. My other name.. it's Mattaki."
"Mattaki," muttered Kusu, taking a step back, almost dropping her sword.
"W-what is it?" called out Sanji. "Mattaki, who is that?"
"It's written on the Poneglyph.." said Kusu. "Mattaki... he is the world's first evil, the strongest. This boy... does he really have his soul?"
Erukia smiled for the first time. "Soon I'll be complete."
-
Chapter One-Hundred-Sixty-Six: The World Is In Chaos
It took Kusu a moment to regain herself. Did she just hear what she thought she heard? She was unsure at first, and quickly went over it in her mind. This boy that stood before her, he held part of the soul of all the evil of the world, Mattaki.
Kusu held her steel sword tightly in her hand, pointing it at Erukia. Right now it mattered not that he had the appearance of a boy, for Kusu knew what he truly was.
"What? The evil of the world?" asked Robin, looking back at Erukia.
Erukia nodded, smiling. "That's correct. Well… not all of it. My true body lies in the Akuma World, but, as you know, it's impossible for me to break through because of the barrier set up the the original kings of the world.... So, for now, I must deal with this small body given to me by my servant Era."
"He's really it.." muttered Kusu.
Robin spun around towards Kusu. "E-excuse me, but how do you know of all of this? I need to know.."
Kusu was slightly taken aback by Robin's sudden interest, and answered her question in something of a stutter. "U-um... There's a Cathedral upon the... mountain. There lies a Poneglyph which explains everything.."
"That's it," said Robin. She spun around to the rest of her crew. "I'm sorry, but I have to go. That Poneglyph... That's what I've been looking for all these years!"
Sanji easily gave a thumbs up. "Go, Robin, complete your dream! We'll take care of this kid."
Robin gave a small nod and ran off at full force towards the stone Uzo, her eyes set firmly on the Cathedral. That was her goal.
Erukia smiled as she ran off, rather uninterested in her. "That Cathedral.. It'll need to be destroyed in order for me to get my body back. That along with Bell from Skypiea. As soon as both are destroyed, and as soon as Surua appears, the gate between this world and the Akuma world will finally be broken."
Erukia lifted out his arms wide. "And I can take over again!"
Sanji, having heard enough, kicked forward with full force, however, Erukia easily dodged to the right. "Enough games for now, little ones. I'm afraid I'm getting weak. For now, I'll simply wait for Era and Surua to arrive. Farewell."
And then Erukia simply melted into the ground as if he was part of nature itself. Sanji looked around but saw him no where. "Damn it," he muttered, scratching his head. "What are we supposed to do now?"
"It's obvious," said Nami quickly, and everyone looked towards her. "It's just like he said. That Cathedral.. It cannot be destroyed!"
Kusu smiled, remembering hearing those words before. "Of course. As long as we protect that Cathedral, then we will not have a problem. Although... if this Era and Surua are coming... It could pose bad luck.."
"We'll take it head on!" shouted out Luffy, jumping high into the air out of nowhere. Yaaaah!"
"Luffy!?" shouted out the crew, surprised to see him already. "You're here!"
"You idiot!" shouted out Robin, round house kicking Luffy in the face and sending him flying across the ground. "Don't get up and run around already! You're injured!"
"So that's what's going on, huh?" asked Nami.
The crew, other than Robin who had ventured off towards the Cathedral (Sanji left soon after to make sure she was okay), was assembled together in one of the small grey huts, sitting together around Kusu.
Kusu gave a slight nod, her face reflecting the deep worry that was forming in her heart. She had gone through this exact some moment as a child, and at that time she lost everything around her. She couldn't stand for it to happen again. That is why she would fight with all her might to prevent the destruction of the Cathedral and the help in the defeat of Era.
"So basically," muttered Franky. "Our goal is to defeat Era, huh?"
"Protect the Cathedral," said Kusu. "That is the only thing that has to be done."
"In other words," shouted out Luffy, jumping up. "We gotta defeat Era!" Luffy clenched his fist tightly, ready to get started. "I've never met that guy, but I've heard of what he's done! He can't be forgiven, no way! Where is he now!?"
Kusu shrugged. "We must wait."
"What's the situation?" yelled out Ben Beckmen.
The scene is Mariejoa... Or what is left of it. After Surua completely destroyed it, all that remained was a giant crater and a few ruins of the once magnificent building that had existed for over 800 years. Now only ruble and death scattered the ground.
"We've gotten all the survivors we could find," muttered Yasopp, pointing back at the ship where the survivors were being kept and tended to. "I don't know who caused this... but whoever it is.."
"There's only one person that I know of," said Ben Beckmen. "That man who is as strong as Captain... The other Yonkou, Surua.. I don't know what he's thinking.. but to go this far.."
"Get off me!" shouted a voice from the ship. After a few yells and the sound of brawling, up from the ship rose Smoker, stepping forward with Tashigi stumbling at his side. Smoker pushed back some of the crew, frowning deeply. "What the hell is this!?"
"Smoker!" called out Ben, stepping forward. "We're not here to fight you this time.."
"Eh?" muttered Smoker. "Oh, you're on Red Hair's crew, aren't ya? Eh, I'm not interested in you guys right now.. I'm more interested in what just happened here... I was fighting these pirates and suddenly I get blown away.. Was it Dragon?"
"Doubt it," muttered Ben. "I suspect it's Surua.."
Smoker frowned deeply. "Damn it.. This entire world is going out of whack... The Shichibukai virtually don't exist, the government is getting destroyed by these pirates, one of the Yonkou is dead, another one has gone crazy and is blowing everything up.. Speaking of that, where is Red Hair?"
Ben frowned. "I don't know.."
Smoker shrugged. "Well whatever. My job is still with the marines. Destroy all pirates. Tashigi!"
Tashigi slightly jumped at her name. "Y-yes sir?"
"We're off. I heard there's some action in the New World. We'll be stopping pirates there, alright? Let's go now."
"R-right.."
Ben frowned as Smoker simply walked past him. "You know," muttered Ben. "We're pirates too."
"Yeah yeah," muttered Smoker. "You saved me, and I spared you. We're even."
The pirate ship graveyard near the edge of Raftel was not a calm place. The wind and rain was strong, the oceans waters waving madly. Upon one ship stood the Gorosei and directly across from them stood Sengoku.
"What are you talking about?" muttered the eldest looking Gorosei, holding it's blade out. "You did what?"
"The Straw hats.. and Blackbeard it seems, have crossed onwards."
"How is this possible?" muttered the youngest looking Gorosei, crossing his arms. "We've tried for many years but none of us have ever succeeded in going any further in the Grand Line. How were they able to do this?"
"I'm not sure," muttered Sengoku, frowning and looking down. "Furthermore.. Whitebeard got away, and Ace was the one who saved him.
"Those two!?" shouted out the Gorosei with the large mustache. "You let them get away as well!? Sengoku, with this carelessness, we can no longer comfortably allow you to be the head of the marines any longer."
"But wait!" shouted out Sengoku, clenching his fist. "You don't understand! We'll still come out on top.."
"The world is in chaos," said the Gorosei. "The Government is rubble. The only chance we have of victory is to destroy--"
"Me?"
The Gorosei stopped and turned to their right. There, forming in mid air, out of the wind and lightning and thunder all around, was Dragon. Dragon gave a grin, crossing his arms looking at them. "The leaders of the world, right? Heheh, finally, I can complete what I set out to do so long ago."
"Dragon," muttered the Gorosei. "The most wanted man in the world." They turned towards Sengoku. "You wish to keep your position and maintain the world? This is your final chance, Sengoku. Defeat Dragon."
Sengoku frowned, looking at Dragon. "Of course," he said sternly. "As you command."
The Gorosei nodded. "We'll be going back to Mariejoa to finish the rebellion there. Report back when you are finished." And in the blink of an eye, the Gorosei vanished away.
Dragon chuckled, cracking his knuckles. "The leader of the Revolutionaries vs. the leader of the Marines. It's perfect."
Sengoku grinned as well, pulling out a sword. "Of course. Let's finish this."
"You've grown weak," said Shimekire, laughing.
The scene is Crystal Island, Era's once home. Now, Dadan and Sharp fight against one of the most dangerous Akuma in history, Shimekire.
"You remember my ability, correct?" asked Shimekire. "The complete and utter control over gravity. I can crush you in the blink of an eye."
Dadan, unlike Shimekire, was beat up. Her arm was already broken and she was bleeding from her forehead. She looked to her right and saw her friend Sharp Newgate, laying on the ground. He had been defeated quickly because of one reason. "The only thing that can stop you, Shimekire, is speed. If you can defeat me in the blink of an eye... Then I'll just have to be faster."
Shimekire grinned, lifting up his arm, ready to push it down and cause the gravity all around to increase tenfold. "Try it."
"W-what is this..."
The Gorosei were speechless. After leaving Sengoku alone to tend to Dragon, they returned to Mariejoa only to find it completely and utterly obliterated. Only ruins remained... nothing more of the ancient structure. The marines were gone, but there was still a force that remained on the rubble.
Five pirates stood ready for battle against the five Gorosei.
"Leaders of the world, right? We'll destroy this government once and for all," smiled Ben Beckmen, spinning his shot gun on his finger and resting it on his shoulder.
"I was part of the trash once.. But that time is past! I'm ready to gain some freedom!" shouted out Crocodile, grinning brightly, slashing his hook in the air.
"Captain wished that one day this government that caused so much trouble would eventually end. I gotta help out a little, even if I'm a bit old, heh," chuckled Rayleigh, pulling out his sword, the blade glimmering in the sunrise.
"This is my final chance at the big time. I aint gonna make it to Raftel, that's left up to someone else, but I can take one of you out, that's for sure," smiled Trafalgar Law, flexing his fingers.
"Haha, this is just the beginning! I'll take out any one of you losers who think you can go against me and win! Let's get this started!" shouted out Eustass Kid, clenching his fists and grinning broadly.
The Gorosei sighed, facing their opponents. "I guess this is our time to fight," they muttered. "Let us regain Mariejoa."
"What the hell is wrong with this place!?" shouted out Doflamingo, looking around. He, along with Akainu, had survived on a small boat and was now sailing in the frozen time, a world of black and white, near the coast of Raftel. "This place doesn't make any sense!"
"No sound, no light," muttered Akainu. "Well whatever! Sengoku told us to hunt down the Mugiwara brats and wipe them off the face of the earth, and we saw them go this way, so let's just continue ahead! There's no other choice!"
"We can't allow you to go any further!" shouted out two voices, and Doflamingo and Akainu paused, looking up to see their challenge.
"You're with the government, but still pirates! And also.. there's a person nearby that I can't allow to be defeated! Someone I must catch!" It was Coby, standing tall in his marine attire, crossing his arms.
"That's right, neh!" yelled out Nina, the girl who was once trapped inside Nevermore the Island. "Monkey D. Luffy.. He saved me and my island long ago, neh! And I think it's time I repaid the favor, neh!"
Doflamingo and Akainu looked at each other, then back at their opponents. They both bursted out laughing at the sight. "A little marine boy and a young lady? Hah! This will be over quickly..."
Blackbeard was the first of his crew to step on the dry land of Raftel. He grinned broadly, stretching his arms out as wide as possibly, laughing loudly. "Zehahahaaha!" His crew joined him quickly, looking around.
"This place is rather strange," said Van Auger, looking around. "This island is without color, movement, even sound. It's rather curious.."
"I kinda like it!" shouted out Blackbeard. "Zehahahaah! The darkness is just my type of atmosphere! Now enough of this talkin', let's go find out where One Piece is! About time I finally became Pirate King! Zehahahaa!"
The crew nodded and followed quickly after.
"I'm afraid you can't do that."
Blackbeard froze in his steps, turning around at the sound of that voice. He clenched his fists tightly, his face contorting in anger. "Why looked who showed up all of a sudden, eh?"
Ace stood tall, Whitebeard standing at his side. Ace flexed his hand a little, frowning. "You caused a lot of trouble, Blackbeard," said Ace. "It's about time I repaid you, right?" Ace turned towards Whitebeard.
"That's right!" yelled out Whitebeard, reaching for his sword. "You nearly killed my son and for that I--!!" Suddenly Whitebeard collapsed on the ground, his huge form shaking the island. Ace frowned, jumping at his side.
"Captain!" shouted out Ace. "What's going on?"
"Son," muttered Whitebeard, coughing viciously. "I'm an old man, you know.. I can't go on much longer.. My time should have been up long ago.."
Ace frowned. "Don't talk like that! I promised you that I would make you the Pirate King! You can't just give up when we're so close!"
"Ace.." muttered Whitebeard, his breath growing thinner. "You brought me all the way to the end of the Grand Line alone." Whitebeard slowly raised a shaking hand and placed it on Ace's shoulder. "That's all a captain can ask for from his crew! To stick with him until the end!"
Ace frowned, a strange emotion of fear and regret and sadness forming inside. "Captain.."
"Don't worry about me anymore, son. You've done your job..." Whitebeard closed his eyes. "Well Roger... I guess we can duel again... Ace... I thank you."
Ace closed his eyes tightly, trying to force back his emotions.
"Ah, how sad!" yelled out Blackbeard, laughing. "Zehahaha! He was certainly a man with a strong spirit, I'll give him that much! But to survive in this world, your dream has to be stronger than anyone elses!" This just proves that man didn't have the soul like I do! Zehahah!"
"Shut up!" yelled Ace, flames soaring across his body. He slowly got to his feet, and started walking towards Blackbeard. "I've had enough..."
Blackbeard smiled, motioning for his crew to step back. "The final round, eh? I like it! Zehahaha!"
Quia sighed, scratching his head and looking around. In all directions he could only see the paleness of the grey water mixing with the grey sky. His sharp teeth tapped against each other as he slowly swayed in the water. His boat, the one had since forever ago, was barely still sailing. "I swore I saw those damn pirates go this way!" he yelled out. "I can't let them get away! To prove that I am the greatest man in the world, I gotta defeat them!"
"Calm down, Quia."
Quia spun around and nearly fell out of the boat at the sight of Kiss, who was sitting calmly at his side. "W-what the hell woman! Wait a minute... You're that lady from Era! Listen, I don't care what he gots to say, I'm not going back with him! I decided that I'm gonna defeat the Mugiwaras on my own, and there's nothing you can do to stop me!"
"I won't," chuckled Kiss. "Want to know the truth, Quia?"
Quia looked over at Kiss, frowning. "The truth?"
"I want to win," said Kiss plainly, smiling.
Quia chuckled a little. "I like the way you talk! Feels like I knew you a long time ago or something! Hah! But quite a strange 'truth' you got there.. Let's see if it's real!"
Kiss nodded. "The island where the Mugiwaras are is that way," she said, motioning into the ocean. "Let's go, shall we?"
"So this is it..." muttered Robin, looking forward. She had made it to the Cathedral which sat upon the giant Uzo. Although the Cathedral was extremely old, it was still standing. Vines and foliage was covering most of it, but there was still enough room to walk and to view the thing that sat in the center.
The Poneglyph, no matter how old it was, still glimmered brightly. Robin began to approach it, her heart beating fast. Finally she would see what this was and know the true history. She was so close.
However, suddenly, a figure shot out of the and slammed directly into Robin, sending them both crashing into the floor. The man jumped up, looking around, then lifted out a hand to Robin.
"Ah, sorry about that!" said Shanks, frowning. "I don't really know what just happened here.."
Robin's eyes went wide. "Shanks," she muttered.
Era was sailing in his own ship towards the same final island, Raftel. At his side was the remainder of his crew who weren't already heading towards the island. At his right was Surua and Edge, and at his left was Luxuria. He grinned, looking forward. Soon at the horizon, the island would appear.
"We're close," he muttered.
Surua frowned, crossing his arms. Edge looked at Surua, feeling the uneasiness in the air. Luxuria sighed, still confused at Surua's change of personality.
They were getting close to the very end.
Out in the ocean, a figure formed out of the water. A half face. It gave a small smile. "Almost there, Era. Destroy the bonds, and give me my body back."
Mattaki faded back into the water, waiting for it's time to return.
That time is near.
Mattaki chuckled.
"The world really is in chaos."

and the end is drawing near :D
great job as always hito -
Thinking a few chapters back, why was Whitebeard wounded very heavily again? Entirely because of his fight with Kuma?
-
Yeah, Whitebeard fought Kuma and nearly died. Without any medicine like he usually has, he was defeated. Then Ace came along and saved him. Although by then Whitebeard was already in terrible shape and was going to die anyway.
@ Red
Thanks =D

Chapter One-Hundred-Sixty-Seven: Ben Beckmen Vs. Kubo
The world is going mad. Pirates, Revolutionaries, the Government, the Marines, war was widespread over control. In one particular place, a battle that would sway the course of the entire world occurred. Five powerful pirates vs. the Gorosei.
The first fight was against the fight mate of the Red Hair Pirates, Ben Beckmen, known to have the highest IQ in the sea. His opponent was none other than one of the Gorosei. This Gorosei was the oldest looking Gorosei. Unlike the others who were traditional suits, this one wore a kimino and carried an orange sword in his hands. He frowned deeply as he faced off against Ben.
"My name is Kubo," said the Gorosei. "You need not introduce yourself, for I know you, Beckmen. Worth 240 million, second mate of the Yonkou Red Hair Shanks."
Beckmen chuckled, lifting up his pistol and twirling it around his finger. "That's right, seems I'm famous, huh?"
Kubo reached out, one hand grabbing onto the sheath of his sword, and the other tightly on the hilt. "The times are dangerous, and we as the Gorosei must make our move to ensure the world stays in our hands."
Beckmen shrugged. "For Shanks, I can't let you do that. Government has caused too many problems as it is."
"If that's the case, prepare to die, Beckmen." Kubo quickly unsheathe his sword, and as he did something very curious happened. The ground beneath their feet begin to slightly shake, the wind picked up, the clouds grew thicker. "You did not think the Gorosei were weaklings, did you? I am a descendent of the original King, and thus hold a very strong ability over the nature of this world."
Ben sighed, grasping his pistol with both hands as if it was a sword. It seemed he didn't need nor want an explanation, and thus he attacked quickly. Bringing back his gun, he slammed it forward with all his might straight at Kubo.
Kubo, just as quickly, struck forward with his sword. The two collided in a fiery spark, but neither weapon, or wielder, was harmed. Kubo, however, smiled a little. "That's not all."
Suddenly the earth underneath Ben's feet began to rumble and shake, and suddenly it flew up into the air, taking Ben with him. Ben flew for a moment then headed back towards ground, bracing himself for the impact.
Kubo spun around where he stood, swinging his sword in the air and somehow caused a gust strong enough to send Ben flying backwards before even touching the ground. He slammed hard into some of the rubble. Struggling, he got back up to his feet, twirling the gun around his finger. He then pointed it straight at Kubo and fired six shots in a row.
The bullets zoomed through the air, but Kubo was ready and deflected them with the sides of his blade. Just as Ben was about to shot out even more, Kubo came soaring in with his blade, and sliced horizontally across Ben's chest, causing a massive flow of blood.
Ben clenched his teeth in pain, nearly dropping his pistol. With his free hand he reached out swiftly, grabbing a hold to the blade itself and not allowing Kubo to take a single step. Kubo looked down at Ben's bleeding hands, surprised.
"You idiot, let go of the sword or you will surely die."
Suddenly the earth began to shake and lightning flew down from the sky, crashing into the ground all around. Ben gave a ghostly smile and placed the pistol squarely on Kubo's chest. "Let go of the sword, or you will surely die, heh."
"If that's the way you want it!"
Suddenly the wind picked up around them, and a tornado formed, pulling up rocks and rubble all around. Ben however, did not let go of the sword, he would not. He then did all he could do. He pulled the trigger, and the bullet went directly through Kubo's chest. In that split second, Ben snatched the sword away, holding it firmly in his hand, and Kubo fell backwards. The weather quickly returned to normal, and the sun still rising in the distance.
Kubo grabbed his chest, flinching in pain. "Damn it…" he muttered.
Ben looked down at the sword, and through it off into the distance. "Without the sword, you're just an old man, right? Being at the top of the world like you are.. you never expect someone to try and pull that sword away from you, huh? Heh, well that's what you get."
Ben fell backwards, leaning against some rocks and holding his bleeding chest.
Ben Beckmen had won.
Four Pirates and four Gorosei remain.

Chapters 168 and 169 is presented in a special double chapter, so make sure not to miss one!
Chapter One-Hundred-Sixty-Eight: Trafalgar LawTrafalgar Law was already in the middle of his battle when he noticed Beckmen collapse not far from where he stood. However, a grin appeared on his face when he saw the opposing Gorosei had fainted. He then turned his attention to his own enemy, a Gorosei with strange curly hair and a vicious looking scar across the right side of his face.
This Gorosei was rather powerful, more than Law had originally estimated. He seemed to have the ability to plants, almost nature itself. "You will fall!" he shouted out, pushing his palm forward. Just as he did, roots flew out of the ground, attempting to wrap around Law.
Law viciously punched through the wood, landing on top of a large crumbled part of Mariejoa. Looking around he smiled a little. "This building… it had a lot of metal in it, right? Hahaha! Just perfect!"
Law stretched out both his arms, and just as he did metal from all direction began swooping in, wrapping tightly around both arms. Swords, armor, floors, walls, guns, anything metal broke free of the crumbled earth and became part of Law himself.
The Gorosei frowned, clenching his fist. "My name is Carolus Linnaeus.." With all his might he punched upwards into the air, and just as he did a forest itself began to spring up all around, completely engulfing the surrounding area. "The master of nature!"
Law jumped was suddenly tackled from a tree beneath him, but he managed to dodge into a safer out cropping of rocks. He looked at both of his arms, which had grown to magnificent sizes after using his magnetism ability. They were ready. "This is the end!" He punched forward with both fists, the giant metal ripping threw the trees and plants as it headed for Carolus.
Carolus quickly responded by shooting out giant thorns from the ground which pierced directly through the metal, sending some of the scrap flying in different directions. "Damn it," muttered Law, quickly using his ability to pull the pieces back. However, before he could, Carolus was already attacking again.
From the earth directly beneath Law a giant Venus Flytrap broke free of the ground, it's movement creating an artificial roar as it's mouth reached up, ready to wrap around Law. Law quickly brought back his metal arm, blocking the beast. It's mouth wrapped around the metal arm, dissolving it instantly.
Law canceled his magnetic powers so his arm itself wouldn't become the plants meal, but just as he did Carolus attacked again, this time launching giant thorns straight at him. With no defenses, Law had to dodge them. However, one caught his caught him in the chest. He yelled out in pain as the thorn pushed forward, pinning him onto a stone.
Carolus landed walking forward with a deep frown. "Do you see now, pirate? In this world you have no chance of living. This is a world governed by men like myself, not ruthless pirates! This is your end. You have no chance of freeing yourself."
Law grabbed at the thorn but was unable to pull it out. It had already pierced his heart and blood was flowing out. He clenched his teeth. "Well damn," he muttered. "Guess you're right about one thing," he muttered. "My time as a pirate is just about over... However.."
Law lifted a shaking hand in Carolus' direction. "Your time as a Gorosei is as well."
Carolus spun around, and in front of him was a tornado of metal, flying straight towards him. He quickly lifted up his arms and a giant wall of plants flew from the ground, concealing him. This, however, wasn't enough, for the tornado easily ripped it apart. "NO!" he yelled out, but it was too late, the tornado had taken him up.
Within seconds, the tornado evaporated, and from the sky fell Carolus, ripped and cut, completely out. Law looked and smiled. He attempted to summon more metal to help take the thorn out, but he hadn't the strength, and even if he could, his heart had been crushed.
"Well this is the end.." he muttered. "Later."

Chapters 168 and 169 are presented in a special double chapter! Don't forget to read both!
Chapter One-Hundred-Sixty-Nine: Eustass Kid"What the hell?" yelled out Kid. Suddenly a forest had appeared out of nowhere, taking over nearly half the island. Luckily it wasn't close enough to affect his own fight, which was against the shortest of the Gorosei, one with a rather large mustache. Curiously, Kid wasn't sure what his ability was, since all he had been doing was attacking with punches.
"If this is all you got then this will be a piece of cake," laughed Kid. He landed on his feet, slicing at the air itself. Just as he did, the Gorosei was suddenly cut in half horizontally right across his throat, sending the head of the Gorosei flying.
"Doesn't cause any real damage," muttered Kid, "but like that you don't have a chance to attack me!" Kid then dashed towards the Gorosei, ready to send a vicious punch at him.
"My name is Franklin Clover," said the Gorosei, clapping his hands together, "controller of time."
"What the hell?" yelled out Kid as a forest suddenly appeared in the distance. He spun around, feeling a strange sense that this moment had just occurred. "W-what just happened? I was just.."
Clover appeared right in front of Kid, slamming his fists hard into his chest and sending him flying across the ground, crashing into some rubble. He stood up, looking at his chest to see the imprint of a fist. "W-what was that!?"
Clover began approaching Kid. "I can control time, you see. And with this ability I will easily eliminate you and the return to the time Mariejoa was destroyed to fix it. Simple as that. With my ability, there is no chance for the government to be destroyed.
"Control time?" muttered Kid, amazed that such an ability could exist. "That won't stop me." Kid quickly slashed the air, causing Clover to be split completely in half vertically. Just as he did though, Clover clapped his hands, reversing time to just before it happened. At this point, Clover then punched forward before Kid had a chance to do anything, and took another hard blow.
"What the hell!?" shouted out Kid, standing up. "If we're going back in time… why do I still have this damage?"
"Fool," muttered Clover. "I can control any aspect of time, including what is affected and what isn't. I can completely destroy you in an instant of real time."
"Not if I can stop it!" yelled out Kid. However, again and again, Kid could do nothing. Every time he tried to immobilize his opponent, time was simply brought back to the instant before. There seemed no hope that he could do anything to stop this.
Clover clapped his hands, time returning to a previous moment, and he delivered a powerful kick to Kid, sending him crashing into the ground. "You see, you have no chance."
Kid looked up, feeling his bones crack. He had to realize what to do, or else he would truly not have a chance. What was he missing? What was he not realizing. What was going on?
Clover clapped his hands, and time went backwards, Clover coming quickly with another attack.
"That's it!" shouted out Kid. He lifted up his arms, blocking the attack, and in that instant caused Clover's hands to fly apart. Clover's eyes went wide at this. He wasn't expecting it, and didn't realize Kid would be able to see it for himself.
"You can only go back in time by clapping, right?" chuckled Kid. "Well without your hands that's pretty much impossible... Haha, it's over."
Within minutes Kid walked away from the battle with a grin. He had won.
One pirate has fallen. Two survive. Two have yet to battle.
Two Gorosei remain.

And lastly, I'm honored to present this fan-drawing of my fanfic by Antares who can be found on the forum. It's really amazing that someone would draw something for my little story, haha. Well here it is:
Bottom: Monkey D. Luffy
Middle Right: Ira
Middle Left: Ko
Upper Right: Surua
Uppermost: Mugiwara D. EraAgain, thanks so much Antares! Really amazing job. =D
-
Nice! Only one thing, though: you got Law and Kidd's abilities mixed up. Kidd's magnetic, and Law cuts people to pieces without hurting them, not the other way around. Good job otherwise, though!
-
Lol, you're right! When I posted this I had a feeling I made this error, I just didn't check it. Well thanks, yah, just switch the names if your mind. XD
Thanks again! =D
-
That drawing is nice but Era looks just like a mi Lelouch from Code Geass and L from Death Note.
-
Lol, I didn't draw it, but the artist might have gotten inspiration from them. I've never watched Code Gease either.

Chapter One-Hundred-Seventy: The Gorosei
On the once holy land of Mariejoa, the birthplace of the new era, the battle against the Gorosei, the leaders of the world, is taking place. Only two remain. One, seemingly the tallest and oldest, and two, the youngest looking Gorosei. They stand on separate sides of the islands, fighting against their own enemies.
On one side the oldest Gorosei was in the middle of a battle with Gold Roger's right hand mate, Rayleigh. Rayleigh had his sword drawn, and just the same, the old man did as well. Both looked rather serious, and the growing of a forest and explosions in the background from the other fights seemed not to phase them at all.
"My name is Edgar," said the old man, spinning the blade in his hand as if it was child's play. He tossed it up in the air and pointed at Rayleigh. "And you are Rayleigh. You are also dead." Edgar caught the sword and pushed forward in a flash.
Rayleigh, reacting just as quickly, slashed across. When the dust cleared, neither had caused any damage to each other. Rayleigh flinched, turning around just in time to dodge another wave of the blade. Rayleigh attacked again, but this man was just too fast.
"Your haki does nothing," muttered Edgar. "It's.. It's the strongest currently on this earth, but I am not affected. Do you know why this is so?"
It seemed Rayleigh already knew the answer. "No need telling me. You're dead."
Edgar grinned, tossing his sword back up high in the air. He caught it with his second hand, nodding a little. "Correct. I have the Life Life fruit, which allows me to give anyone a second chance at life. The only downside is that it only lasts for five minutes, and after that five minutes, the body and the soul is completely destroyed. They do not get a chance to exist in the afterlife."
"I see," muttered Rayleigh. "I've already killed you, with my first strike. You just used your ability?"
"Correct," muttered Edgar. "I have five minutes to live."
Rayleigh frowned, gripping his own sword in his hand. "Then why are you smiling like that? Unnatural for a man like you."
Edgar shook his head. "I knew from the start I was no match for you. I am far past my prime, while you still seem to be able to hold onto your youth. However, that will not stop me from still defeating you. I have ways."
Edgar suddenly slammed his hand against the ground, and up from the dirt became earth, and this earth slowly began to change shape into the form of a tall man wearing a captains coat. It was the shape of Gold Roger.
"What if I brought this man back to life and commanded him to kill you. What would you do?"
Rayleigh's eyes went wide and he almost dropped his blade. Frowning, he took a step back, barely believing what he saw. If that was what this man's power truly was… If he could bring back Roger himself.. what chance would he have to win?
"Life!" shouted out Edgar.
Rayleigh attacked swiftly at that very moment. He wasn't sure why, but something urged him to attack, and swiftly he did so. His blade cut directly through the Roger statue. Suddenly, time began to slightly slow. Rayleigh looked up at the face of the stone statue, and for a mere split second, the eyes of that statue grew fresh with life.
And in an instant, it vanished.
Rayleigh turned around, watching as Edgar fell to the ground. Was it his own sword that had killed Roger and Edgar, or had five minutes already past? Rayleigh wasn't sure, and he didn't want to think about it.
He sighed. Exhausting all his haki so quickly took a lot out of him, and now he need to rest. He turned towards the rest of the island, wondering how the others were doing.
One Gorosei Remained.
The final Gorosei was the youngest of all, a tall blonde man with a clear scar across his chest. He seemed not to hold any weapons at all, but simply crossed his arms as he faced his opponent, the Ex-Shichibukai: Crocodile.
Crocodile lifted up his claw and sand from all around began to pick up off the ground, swirling around. He smiled, although honestly he wasn't sure what to do. "You're a Gorosei, the leaders of this world, right? Haha.. I guess that position belongs to me now, don't ya think?"
The Gorosei cracked his neck, his stern from staying. When he spoke, it was deep and thunderous. "I'm afraid not. As long as one Gorosei remains standing, this world still belongs to us."
"Well let's end it!" shouted out Crocodile. He slammed his palm against the ground and all the earth around instantly became a desert, and anything touching the ground would instantly be dried up.
Crocodile looked up to see if it worked, but the instant he did, a fist slammed directly into his face, sending him flying across the dirt. "UGAH!" shouted out Crocodile, trying to regain himself. Before he could even get up, however, he was attacked again, from above. The Gorosei slammed his foot down hard into Crocodile's chest, creating a huge crater around him.
The Gorosei jumped backwards, landing on his feet as Crocodile stumbled to get up. "H-how the hell could you touch me?"
The Gorosei lifted up his hands, showing he had cut his palms to cause blood to flow. "I know all about you, Crocodile. You were the one I suggested to become Shichibukai, after all. You cannot win."
Crocodile smiled, and quickly faded off completely into sand, flowing all around the Gorosei member. "Hah! You can't touch me if I'm already sand!"
The Gorosei suddenly ripped off his shirt, revealing hundreds of scars of all sizes and shapes across his body. "My name is Ivan, the oldest Gorosei. I've been through hell more than once, so this sand is nothing."
Crocodile frowned, but did not falter. He created a huge stand storm, the sand itself flying across the air like tiny blades, ripping across Ivan's skin. However, through it all, Ivan did not move an inch, did not even blink, did not even break a sweat.
Angered, Crocodile slammed his palm directly on the ground, becoming a solid figure for a split second. His plan was to make a sand hole directly underneath Ivan, causing him to sink to his death. No matter how strong his endurance was, he could not survive sinking into the earth. However, before Crocodile even had the chance to put a palm on the earth, a fist came out of nowhere, slamming hard into Crocodile and sending him flying across the air. Before he could even crash, Ivan appeared again, kicking Crocodile in the back. Crocodile flew across the ground, throwing up dirt, and eventually crashed into an out cropped rock.
"What the hell," muttered Crocodile, opening his eyes. Just as he did, he saw Ivan fly at him with a fist, which hit him in the center of his face, crashing through the rock.
Crocodile lay on the ground, unmoving. He breathed heavily, but couldn't stand up.
"That is it," said Ivan, walking towards Crocodile and stomping his foot against his chest. "You are done."
Crocodile opened up one eye, smiling a little. "You're wrong... You're... pretty strong, but that doesn't matter. You left yourself.. so open."
Ivan frowned deeper. "What did you say?'
"Your wounds... They're ever where. It's rather easy to let a little sand fall into them."
Ivan frowned, not a serious or an angry one, but one seeming of surprise.
"That is it," smiled Crocodile.
Suddenly, shards of sand flew out of Ivan's body through his skin, ripping across him. Ivan yelled out in pain, never having something like this happen. The yelling stopped, and Ivan collapsed on the ground. He took a few breaths. "Well, Crocodile... Ex-Shichibukai.. You win."
Crocodile smiled, stumbling to his feet. "Heh, yah."
Remaining Gorosei: Zero.

Chapter One-Hundred-Seventy-One: Gravity
The Gorosei have been defeated by five very strong pirates, and so we leave the land of Mariejoa and travel far across the ocean to Crystal Island, once the domain of Era himself. It is upon this island that Dadan has encountered an old enemy of hers, Shimekire.
Dadan had reached the island hearing that somehow a man was connected to Ko. Long ago, Dadan had acted as a spy because she expected that one day Luffy would get involved with Ko. During the time in Peace, she had met Shimekire, who she later fought on Mariejoa and successfully defeated, but at the cost of her legs.
Now Shimekire had returned, this time stronger than ever. Dadan, even if her legs were not as strong as they used to be, would have to find a way to win, to protect her son.
"Do you know the reason why I'm still alive?" chuckled Shimekire.
"You don't have to tell me," said Dadan. "The man named Era sent you, right? That Era person… Who exactly is he?"
"That's not important," said Shimekire, sticking out his tongue as his wavy jagged hair jumped in the sudden breeze. "I was brought back because you, Dadan, know about the Final Piece. Era told me that anyone who knows about it must be eliminated, for they are a threat."
Dadan suddenly frowned. "The Final Piece... It's been found? I was told by.. my husband Dragon long ago about him, and how he was sure Luffy would get involved with him... So that's why.."
"That's why I'm here," said Shimekire. "To eliminate the threat!"
Shimekire lifted up his arms, getting ready to use his ability, to increase the gravity around him. "You won last time, Dadan, but this time, I'm afraid I will sink you down! Ahahaha! Prepare yourself!" Shimekire slung his hand down to the ground, slamming them against the earth. Instantly, all the ground around them shook and shattered. Due to the increase of gravity, the rocks began to collapse upon themselves. The attack seemed so powerful that an entire half of the island was brought down roughly two feet lower.
This included Dadan. Although the increase in gravity was great, Dadan had trained herself over the years to endure such a pain, and her bones were just barely strong enough to support her enough to collapse with everything else. Dadan knew that she wouldn't have much of a chance against Shimekire unless she attacked now.
Dadan took off at full speed, forcing her legs to their limit. She rushed directly at Shimekire, her fist raised, and slammed it hard against Shimekire's face, sending him flying across the ground and almost off the side of the island into the ocean. Shimekire caught himself just in time, looking up and grinning at Dadan.
"I missed that," muttered Shimekire. "That fist... I can promise it won't happen again, haha."
"Then I guess you've forgotten my name," said Dadan, lifting her fist again. "I am Dadan!" Dadan bursted off again at high speed, coming right at Shimekire again, but this time spinning around to the side to avoid any direct gravity attacks. "The Yellow Monkey!"
Shimekire, however, saw it coming. He spun around quickly, slamming his fists on the ground and causing the gravity to increase even further. This increase in gravity caused Dadan to suddenly slow, just enough for Shimekire to locate Dadan and dodge the fist. In mid air, Shimekire spun around, kicking Dadan in the side and causing her to stumble.
"Haha, no match this time," muttered Shimekire. "You're much slower!"
"Gravity, twenty times higher!"
Dadan, caught off guard, barely managed to escape the area Shimekire was crushing. However, her left leg, just like long before, was caught and slammed down hard to the ground, breaking it completely.
Dadan fell completely, yelling out in pain. Sharp, who was far away, quickly jumped in to help, but before he could do anything, Dadan lifted up a hand. "No!" she shouted. "No.. Sharp.. Stay out of this. If you get involved..."
Shimekire faced Sharp. "Eh? Sharp? Haha, I was told that all I had to do was kill Dadan, but if I could kill more..."
"NO!" shouted out Dadan. Regardless of her broken leg she blasted off at full speed, her fist slamming right into Shimekire. Over and over she punched at such a rapid speed she was just a simple blur of yellow. One strong right punch, and Shimekire went flying, crashing to the ground.
Dadan jumped high into the ground, then came crashing back down, slamming her fist in the center of Shimekire's chest, crushing him. "You do not threaten my friends!"
Shimekire clenched his teeth in pain at the sudden blast, blood coming up. "Damn you.. woman.. I have no choice.."
Shimekire quickly kicked Robin in her broken leg, causing her to stumble backwards for just a second, and that second was all Shimekire needed. Shimekire jumped up, raising both hands high in the air. "I'll use my strongest attack.. The same I used to sink Impel Down itself."
"No!" shouted out Dadan, struggling to attack in time.
"One hundred times gravity!" shouted out Shimekire, slamming his palms hard against the ground. "Let everything sink to the bottom of the ocean!"
Like an earthquake, the entire island began to shake, and even the immediate water around the island was pushed down, creating giant waves all around, heading straight for the island. The Island itself was immediately pushed down into the water, engulfing everyone. Everyone except Shimekire. The small amount of land around him stayed standing while the rest crashed down into the water below, taking everything with it.
"Ahahah!" shouted out Shimekire as the waves crashed and rushed all around. "Take that! I have won, this time... I have won!"
Shimekire, overjoyed at his victory, did not even notice the sudden hand reaching out from the side of the small remaining land. The grand gripped around Shimekire's ankle tightly, not letting go. Shimekire, surprised, looked down, and there he saw none other than Dadan herself.
"You.." muttered Shimekire.
Dadan, broken and crushed, still somehow managed to summon the energy to reach up out of the water and attacking again. "I.. If I'm going to die... Then I'm bringing you with me!"
Shimekire, angered, quickly attempted to kick Dadan off into the sea. However, before he even got the chance, Dadan pulled with all of her might, and in one mighty grasp, both Shimekire and Dadan went falling towards the ocean. They both fell through the rocky waters, sinking instantly.
Since Shimekire was an Akuma, the water caused him to sink like a stone. Just the same though, with Dadan's legs completely broken, she could not force herself to swim at all. It seemed this time her life truly had reached it's end.
And then, suddenly, an arm wrapped around Dadan. Dadan opened her eyes, surprised, and then smiled. There, before her, was her best friend and companion, Sharp. As quickly as he could, Sharp swam to the surface, jumping on the only remaining land left. Dadan, coughing, looked up at Sharp, smiling a little.
"Thank you," she muttered.
Sharp smiled back. "You did it."

Chapter One-Hundred-Seventy-Two: Crimson Savior
We know leave the rest of the outside world into a small place that exists outside the regular: Raftel. Raftel, also known as Pelican Island long ago, is a small island located at the very end of the Grand Line. This Island was sacred and was the birthplace of the people who held hope and pride about looking towards the sky for a better future. They set up a Cathedral to represent this type of worship.
However, the Cathedral on the island was found to be a place aimed for by evil. Roger himself discovered it over twenty years ago and learned that Era was after to destroy it, for it represented one of the barriers that separated the Human World from the evil Akuma World. If the Cathedral was destroyed, the barrier would be broken, and the first evil in the world, Mattaki, could regain life.
Roger then worked with Uzo, brother of one of the local girls, Kusu. Uzo used his ability to freeze time around the island, making it almost impossible for anyone to reach the island, but at the cost of his own life. The Island was now protected. Or so it seemed.
Now, Era has used his wonder Erukia, which contains part of Mattaki's true soul, to locate Raftel, and is now heading straight there. Luffy's crew and a few allies will now have to work together if they wish to save the island.
Time is running out.
The scene is Raftel. Upon the coast of this island a great evil force has arrived, Blackbeard, and his goal is to become Pirate King. However, before he could even explore the black and white island, he was confronted by an old enemy: Ace.
Ace, although bruised and bloody already, wouldn't allow Blackbeard to take another step forward. He pledged he would stop Blackbeard and win this fight, even though he had lost the previous one so long ago.
Upon this cold bleak shore, where not even the water made a move, where not the wind blew its breath, two epic warriors would confront each other for one last time.
Blackbeard, grinning, had already prepared his darkness, which was swirling around him like a torrent of dismay. Some who saw it might place it as looking like a black flame, sparking up and setting back only to spark again. Blackbeard lifted out his hands, darkness rushing out of them.
He commanded his crew to remain back, and remembering last time Blackbeard fought Ace, listened, taking his orders and staying a great distance away.
Ace, who had placed Blackbeard far back as well, was already preparing himself. Flames scattered across the ground around him, orange and red, which stood out quiet well upon the black and white background. Ace, frowning, more serious than he had ever been, looked directly at Blackbeard.
He knew quiet well what Blackbeard Akuma no Mi was. It gave him the ability similar to gravity, but also helped him negate the effects of other people's Devil Fruit. Ace knew that his best chance of winning would be long ranged fire attacks and doing his best to avoid the gravity. Although this was easier said than done, and with all this built up rage boiling through Ace, he wasn't sure if his mind was strong enough on remembering his plan.
"Let's go!" shouted out Blackbeard, laughing. "Zehahahah! Show me what you've learned, Ace!"
Ace, gritting his teeth, spun around, punching the air itself with a fist covered in flame. The fist rushed forward, gaining size and shape as it flew for Blackbeard. Blackbeard quickly lifted up both his palms and darkness rushed in front of him, acting somewhat like a shield, although not nearly powerful enough to hold back the flame for long. Once the shield broke, Ace flew through the air, far above.
He pulled back both fists and then performed a gatling gun like attack which caused a rapid onslaught of fiery fists to rain down upon Blackbeard. Although Blackbeard had an amazing skill, the one thing he lacked was physical speed, so dodging the attack in itself posed a challenge. Barely making it out of the range of the black, he was not expecting Ace to already be performing another move.
Landing just a few feet in front of Blackbeard, Ace decided to perform a physical attack. Although the move was risky, it was far more powerful and faster than his long ranged attacks. Pushing forward, he pulled back a fist which immediately caught aflame.
"TAKE THIS!" shouted out Ace at the top his lungs, yelling with rage. The fist came quick and powerful. Blackbeard did not even have a moment to hesitate. He attempted to reach up and grab hold of Ace's arm to negate the Devil Fruit attack, but he wasn't fast enough. The fist slammed hard into Blackbeard's face, creating a shock wave of fire that shot out in all directions. Blackbeard flew backwards, almost collapsing into the dark waters.
"UGAH!" shouted out Blackbeard, attempting to get back to his feet. "That's it, ya brat," muttered Blackbeard. "I can tell you have a pretty strong will, but mine is stronger!"
Blackbeard lifted up a hand and activated one of the many abilities his Akuma no Mi gave him. One was the ability to pull in long distance objects and suck them up into nothingness, then shoot it all back up broken and destroyed.
Ace was too close to Blackbeard, much too close. He cursed himself for not thinking about the distance required to stay safe, and due to this mistake, he could not prevent himself from being pulled in. As quick as ever, Ace rushed towards Blackbeard, a huge black hole opening up to suck in everything. Trees, sand, plants and even water from all around was already collecting up, and Ace knew he was next.
However, the instant before getting crushed inside the Black Hole, Blackbeard lifted out a hand and grasped Ace's arm, holding it tightly. The Black Hole closed up, and Ace looked around, trying to figure out what just happened.
Blackbeard grinned down at Ace, holding up a fist. In one quick motion, he punched Ace directly in the jaw, shattering it. "Zehahahaa!
Ace clenched his teeth, trying to get free. However, he could not. He was too weak already. Blackbeard, lifted Ace up into the air, and rapidly punched him over and over, breaking bone after bone.
"You see now!?" shouted out Blackbeard. "Your will could not stop me before, and it cannot now! I have won yet again!"
Time went in slow motion for Ace. He could not move, he could not feel. The only thing rushing through his mind was his failure. He had lost, he had disappointed Whitebeard. All hope was gone.
And then something, very strange happened.
From within the nearby forest, a black figure emerged, jumping high in the air. It then came flying right towards Blackbeard. Blackbeard, dropping Ace, quickly made a barrier of darkness to hold back whatever this thing was.
However, the darkness was not enough. The darkness suddenly vanished, and it was soon realized that whatever that thing was had eaten the darkness itself. It landed on the ground, grinning and showing off its sharp teeth.
"Darkness," Quia muttered. "It tastes better than fire!"
Ace looked up. That voice… Was it? Could it really be the same person he had fought so long ago in Impel Down? Quia? How was he still alive? And then, before Ace could do anything else, his hand was grabbed by someone else and he was pulled out of danger. Ace looked up to see someone he hadn't seen in years.
"Shanks!" shouted out Ace.
Shanks looked down at Ace, smiling. "Oh, hey there, Ace," he muttered. Ace got to his feet after gaining some distance from Blackbeard and looked around. Not only was Shanks there, but also a woman with long black hair.
"Oh, you're Robin, form Luffy's crew!"
Robin gave a small nod. "That's right."
Shanks looking at the current situation, frowned. "Well the best thing for us to do now is to just get out of here! We can leave whoever that guy is to fight Blackbeard.. We need to get you and Whitebeard to safety.
"That guy!?" yelled out Quia, spinning around. "I have a name! I am the greatest man in the world, Quia!"
"Greatest?" said Blackbeard, and Quia turned to face him. "Zehahaha! I like your spirit! That Ace kid can leave if he wants, I think I've found a more challenging opponent."
"You?" laughed out Quia. "Yeah right!"
The sudden fight between Blackbeard and Quia had already exploded, and neither of them noticed that Shanks and Robin had quickly run off with Ace and Whitebeard.

Hito I have read this from beginning to this recent chapter. I have to say this is one of the best One Piece fics I have read. The only thing I am a little disappointed with is I haven't seen any thing done differently with the straw hats, or any aprovements with their abilities. Besides that truly amazing
-
great chapter, ever since Quia was introduced he kinda reminded me of Blackbeard, i think it's cool ther fighting now.
-
Thanks a lot Gale. I'm really glad you think its the best. =) I really do try. Although I do see where you're coming from. It is quiet difficult to expand on their powers. I have done it with Chopper, and slightly with Usopp, but I do see what you mean. Thanks a lot though. =D
@ Herr
Thanks! Yup, they are somewhat similar. Glad you liked the chapter! =D

Chapter One-Hundred-Seventy-Three: Blackbeard Vs. Quia
The scene is Raftel, the final battle ground. Upon the shoreline Blackbeard had just been in a fight with Ace, and Ace had lost. However, just before Ace was killed by Blackbeard fist, Shanks and Robin, along with the strange Quia, appeared out of nowhere and saved Ace.
Shanks an d Robin made their hasty escape with Ace and Whitebeard while Quia stayed behind, interested in Blackbeard. Blackbeard, interested in Quia the same, paid no attention while Ace was taken away. He now wanted to fight this man, a man with a spirit that seemed to rival his own.
"Quia, eh?" asked Blackbeard, smiling. "Zehahaha!"
Quia grinned brighter, showing off his sharp white teeth. "That's right!" he yelled out. "My name is Quia, the greatest man in the world! No one can compare to my power! Hahahaahah!"
Blackbeard lifted up both hands, and as he did, darkness appeared out of the ground, swirling around him like a tornado. It looked like black fire, crawling across the ground, reaching out for Quia. Quia, unlike Ace, was not the type to hide or run away from danger. He was the type who leapt right into danger and loved every minute of it.
Because Quia knew one thing. Nothing could stop him.
"Well good then, I love that kinda spirit!" shouted back Blackbeard. "Let's see how true it holds!" Blackbeard lifted up an arm, and instantly his black hole was formed, pulling in everything around. Blackbeard's plan was to demolish Quia quickly and swiftly, crushing him.
Quia, unlike Ace who struggled against the gravity, gladly accepted it, jumping head first for it. He laughed wildly all the way, falling straight into the black hole where he was crushed with the rest of the stuff that had been sucked up.
Blackbeard, grinning, knew it was already the end. He yelled, and everything shot out, raining down on the island in a destroyed mess. Even Quia could still be identified, although his limbs were spread out in different places. His head, half crushed, lay softly on the sand.
Blackbeard looked down at it, sighing, wishing that Quia had been more of a challenge and somewhat disappointed that all he got was a small fight. Then, suddenly, the head moved. The crushed skull slowly seemed to pop back up, reforming itself perfectly. Then the eyes shot open, bright and red.
"AHAHAHAH!" shouted out Quia. "Amazing!!!" His limbs slowly pulled themselves back together, and eventually his body was back again, in perfect condition. The body then walked over towards the head, picked it up, and slammed it back on its shoulders. "AHAHA! I've never had such a feeling before…"
Quia jumped at Blackbeard, grabbing his shoulders, looking him directly in the face. "AGAIN! Let's see it again!"
Blackbeard frowned at first, pulling away and jumping back. Never before had he witnessed a person like this. Was it some type of devil fruit? No matter, his ability made Devil Fruits stop working, so all he had to do was grab his arm and he could do the exact same thing to Ace.
"You want it again, eh?" chuckled Blackbeard. "Well, if that's your wish!" Suddenly, the black hole started again and everything was sucked towards Blackbeard. However, unlike last time, Blackbeard wasn't planning on letting Quia get crushed, since that obviously didn't work last time. This time he would simply use his ability to cancel Quia's ability.
Quia gladly jumped right towards Blackbeard, wanting to feel the insane feeling again, wanting to take it all in. However, before he could, Blackbeard reached out and grabbed Quia's arm, causing him to stop where he stood.
"Without that healing ability of yours," muttered Blackbeard. "Let's see how ya handle this! Zehahaha!"
Blackbeard pulled back a mighty fist and punched Quia dead in the face with everything he had, completely crushing his skull. Just as easily though, Quia healed again, smiling wickedly. "IS THAT ALL!?"
Quia, opening his mouth wide, jumped forward at Blackbeard, ripping across his flesh and eating it whole. "AHAHA! You're nothing! Just nothing to me!"
Blackbeard, clenching his arm in pain, stumbled back. What was this man? He wasn't human, not human at all. Of course, Blackbeard did not know who Quia truly was. He was one of the Seven Deadly Akuma: Pride. He has advanced above all other Akuma and have gained the ability of immortality. Nothing could kill him. Ko was the first one to realize this.
And now Quia was ready to go all out.
The battle was swift and quick. Quia punched, ripped, yelled, laughed, and Blackbeard could do nothing to defend himself. His darkness was like food to Quia, and his punches could do no damage. Against a man like this, a man even Ace did not truly defeat, a man who feared no one, Blackbeard could not win.
In the end, Blackbeard's crew had to force themselves back to save their captain, although it was far too late. Blackbeard had already been beaten, and only Quia remained standing, blood covering his body, a grin on his face.
"Remember my name now, don't ya!?" he yelled out. "I'm Quia!"
