Just beat the game on Hard mode. Two trophies left to go. Now all I have left to do is to go through the game on Non-Stop ∞ Climax Difficulty and beat Rodin at the Gates of Hell. But first things first: I'm stocking up on healing items and the shield lollipops. Probably gonna get 99 of each or however high they go. Goodbye Witch Time. You saved my ass countless times but now you'll be gone as soon as I begin Non-Stop ∞ Climax**.** Hello Evil Harvest Rosary. Hopefully it's explosions will help me out greatly.
EDIT: Tried out the Bazillions (Laser Guns). They are freakin' awesome. I'm just ready to get the weapons Pillow Talk and Rodin.
EDIT 2: For my playthrough of Non-Stop ∞ Climax difficulty, I am just going to complete the boss chapters and chapters VIII and XIV first since they are more of a challenge. I'm still worried about fighting Jeanne for the 4th time in Chapter XIV since she's gonna be a beast with her Wicked Weave attacks and infernal demon summons. Already finished the Prologue, Chapter VII, and Chapter XVI on Non-Stop ∞ Climax and just barely got by. The prologue was especially a pain since the assholes Gracious and Glorious showed up :getlost:. Temperantia was just a tad bit faster and Balder was easy as usual. Just attacked a bit faster but I still whooped his ass.

Tried to fight Father Rodin and I will agree with what everyone else says about him:
! HE'S A MOTHERFUCKIN' BEAST!!!!!!!!
I was doing great until he hit me those fists of his once and took out one full HP bar and he hit me with 1 Giant Fist that took out half of my second HP bar. Just used Beast Within to dodge everything else. I'm getting Pillow Talk and the Climax Bracelet before I even attempt to fight him again. That and another 1,000,000 Halos to purchase the Platinum Ticket. Sucks that you can't use any items and the difficulty is locked on Non-Stop Infinite Climax so Witch Time is useless. I've faced many tough bosses before but good lord this guy takes the cake. And you have to beat him to get a weapon, too. That or cheat to get it. But I wanna beat his ass to get it.
Well, the good news is that I now have 3 Pure Platinum Awards: Prologue, Chapter 1, and Chapter 16. Been replaying some chapters on Normal while I collect concocting materials and make Yellow and Green lollipops. Bumped up some of my Silver Awards to Gold and some Golds to Platinum's.
-
Got the Platinum Trophy finally. Took almost a month (would've been a month tomorrow). Got Pillow Talk. Just need my Climax Brace and I can beat Father Rodin and get the last weapon in the game. Then I'll focus on my Jeanne gameplay. Dunno about Zero though. I'd hate playing through Infinite Climax 3 times (Bayonetta, Jeanne, Zero) just to get all the weapons for all 3 characters.
-
So, does Rodin turn on you or something or is it another Rodin?

From what I see you can just fight him. He doesn't turn on you.
-
The Platinum Ticket turns him into an angelic creature like Balder except that he's a hell of a lot more harder to fight. Which is why I'm glad the place where you fight him has a large amount of space to run. Just think of it as an Alfheim Portal but 20 times harder.

First part of this video shows the user using Pillow Talk and Climax Brace to his advantage. The second part is the one that made me cringe. He does well and then shows you how crazy Rodin gets when you get him down to just 1 HP bar.

Guess I won't be playing this anytime soon again. GameFly refuses to send it to me, despite being of 50%-75% availability they claim they don't have it to ship to me. Furthermore, it appears GameFly issues a "First come, first serve" policy that the person who has had a game in their Q longest gets it first despite the fact we all pay the same damn monthly fee. So yeah, I only got a new title because it was a preorder in my game Q and I happen to just time it perfectly with returning a game.
I doubt I'll get lucky like that again due to their unsteady shipping times. So, unfortuntely unless I go out and buy Bayonetta (which I won't) or go physically rent it (again, won't) I'm probably not gonna get to play it again for anywhere from 3-6 months until it's popularity dies down.
Dammit, Bayonetta.
-
Second time the power has cut off on me during gameplay. I was in the Middle of Angel Slayer and got to the part where you fight 3 Jeanne's at the same time. Then the power cuts off. Oh well. At least it got me close the million halos I need to fight Rodin. Might try some Halo farming techniques to hustle through this.
EDIT: Beat Rodin and got the Rodin weapon. I never felt so relieved. Just barely got by him. Just need to complete Lost Chapter and unlock Zero. Then I can focus on my Jeanne gameplay.
EDIT 2: Cleared Angel Slayer mode and unlocked Zero. Now to focus on my Jeanne gameplay. Forget Zero. I just wanted to unlock the guy. Don't really wanna play as someone who dies in 2-3 hits.

I saw footage of Bayonneta. It is amazing.
This is the kind of game that you will remember 10 years from now.
Putting "Fly me to the moon" in an action game is the most eccentric and awesome choice ever. You gotta love the atmosphere.
If I have one critic. It tends to lack of technic and the screen is filled. Good vision is necessary. I have a hard time figuring what is going on sometimes.
I personally think that Dante and Vergil moves were more impressive and technic than Bayonetta's moves.
Overrall, it is the kind of game people have to get. Boy I am sick and tired of all those stupid FPS with no story except killing nazis and Aliens.

Good game, but I rented it 2 weeks ago and haven't throught about it till just now.

Kinda agree about the FPS one. To an extent.
However I personally thought this game was forgettable. It seemed to be over in a blink of an eye and nothing particular stood out to me XD
Saying that I am selling my Climax edition of the game:
Either Boxed with the Game, Artbook and CD or will sell the Artbook and CD seperate. Game is PAL version. pm me for more details.

It's too bad you don't have the gun replica. I'd like to have just one of them.
-
Yeah. The gun replica was only given away as a pre-order bonus for the most expensive store for games in the UK. The game itself was £49.99
I got this for £38.99 so XD
-
that just reminded me… I wonder if any dedicated cosplayers actually bit the bullet and detonated their wallets for 4 of those pieces?
-
I guarantee that some probably have. Would take true dedication to do so.

I'd laugh if they did and took like….10 steps before breaking the two on the feet.
-
I'd just laugh at the money they wasted on those when they could probably make cheap knock-offs.
I was experimenting with the Kilgore bug and I found out that if you use the Kilgore Bug and the Bracelet of Time on some bosses, you can get an easy Pure Platinum. 2 examples: when fighting Balder, equip the Bracelet of Time and start shooting at him with the Square Button. When he swings his sword at you, dodge and hold down L1 to use the Bracelet. Use the Kilgore Bug to take out his HP and perform the Climax. Just repeat for the other two HP bars and easy Pure Platinum. When fighting Sapientia, just dodge like crazy when attacking the heads on his legs. Perform the Climax, then when you have to attack the main head, only attack it when he comes up out of the water with the Kilgore Bug. Climax again and when you are at the final part of the battle, dodge all the attacks and equip the Bracelet of Time when you get to his head. As soon as he lowers his head, use the Kilgore Bug and Bracelet of Time to finish him off. I got the Pure Platinums the hard way by just dodging and spamming anything. But this here is for those who want an easy Pure Platinum Award.

Just thought I'd throw it out there that Kamiya is damn confident that there's going to be a Bayonetta 2, or so he's telling fans on twitter. I still gotta pick up Bayonetta, but I'm not spending more than $10. (she's been hovering between $14.99 and $19.99. Come Black Friday she'll most likely be $9.99)
-
Bayonetta 2? Awesomeness! I'll pick it up. Tho cheap this time. She's £10 everywhere now. I still have the Super-Special edition XD
-
I just hope that if Bayonetta 2 is a reality, it better be better than the first with a story that isn't all over the place. Also, maybe some Co-Op play.

Okay, this post serves no purpose.
I just need to get this off my chest.
Someone I consider a very good and very intelligent friend will not stop comparing Bayonetta and Darksiders, constantly suggesting that they are the same genre.
Darksiders is an adventure RPG (despite what the opening moments seem to suggest) and Bayonetta is twitch-action with RPG elements.
Furthermore he considers both in the same genre as Dynasty Warriors, his favorite series of games.
So when one talks about Darksiders, he says he can't stand it because it's too slow and there aren't enough ways to kill people as compared to Bayonetta.
NO SHIT! IT'S AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT STYLE OF GAME!!!
I don't know why this bothers me so much. I don't mind individuals not liking a game, even one that I enjoy, but not liking it because you compare it to something completely different?
It's like saying Gran Turismo is better than Twisted Metal because the controls are more realistic.
-

Trend's been going on for a while.
-
Yeah but intelligent adults?
I understand 16-year olds saying, "Man, Halo is so much better than Zelda!"
But adults?
Come oooon.
-
Eh what can you do aside from watching them either make asses out of themselves or someone doing it for them?
-
Not all adults are intelligent and/or think logically.
Honestly, I'm used to those sorts of statements. I generally see it as a way out of saying, "I don't care enouh about the game for me to continue playing it", but I'm sure there are SOME people who really compare the games.
God knows the amount of people I played online on Resident Evil Outbreak who complained saying, "This isn't like SOCOM." Seriously, RE:O invited a huge crowd of SOCOM fans who would just bitch and moan, exceptions aside.
-
I find Tetris doesn't have nearly as much variety in moveset as Mortal Kombat.
-
Yeah, I enjoyed Bayonetta. It wasn't quite the end all action game they marketed it as, but d@mn was it one of the most fun games I've ever played. Frustrating as hell at some points but that only made it more fun to triumph over the games challenges.
Some issues with the plot prevent it from being may favorite action game but it is certainly in my top five. The boss battles were epic and the gameplay was a major strong point for Bayonetta. Music, well, let's no go there. It was a work of genius for Platinum to allow you to use your own playlist.
Still, I wish other games incorporated that same functionality.
-
Here's in early build of Bayonetta. Apparently in this build Witch Time was activated by doing certain combos.

Was thinking of posting that, but just didn't find it interesting enough. Kinda surprising just how little the game actually changed in 3 years. Speaking Bayonetta, I finally bought it after renting it back when it came out. I am so cheap tho, instead of paying $20 to get it brand new, I spent $17 to get it used. XD
