Goddamnit.
Seriously, goddamnit.
Why does every beautiful melody I want to use end up being about breaking up, have some cheeseball lyrics in the middle, being about a different kind of love, too short, etc. etc.
Okay folks. Here's the deal. I originally planned to use Canon D Rock but ultimately decided against it because…it just didn't seem to fit the mood. I'm now in the 9th Circle of Hell trying to find a song that not only expresses the way I feel about Haru without sounding dopey but also fits a number of criteria. I will be using this song to create a slideshow of pictures we've taken every day for a year.
Melody:
Here are examples of melodies I would like to use. Why I cannot use them ranges from the lyrics being about a BREAK UP (DAMN YOU 'THE REASON'!!!!!) to talking about a much broader love.

This is a heartbreaker. This is exactly the melody, pacing, length and build-up I'm looking for. The lyrics though are not exactly fit for two people who love each other more than anything. It's killing me that I can't use this.
Fantastic build-up, fantastic melody, BEAUTIFUL lyrics. Until you find out IT'S ABOUT A MOTHER-FUCKING BREAK UP!!!!!
Decent lyrics. Nice melody. Way too short.
Length:
It needs to be longer than 5 minutes. Preferably 6.
PUFFY has a really great song about a boy meets girl kinda thing but it's far too short.
Build-up:
I'd like something that starts simple, and gets bigger and more sweeping as it goes on. See examples above such as Hana no Na and The Reason.
Feeling:
I don't really want anything negative. I see a lot of these love songs dwell on moments talking about what it's like when someone is/isn't there. You know, maybe an, "I'm lonely without you.", but anything more than that is just depressing.
I'm also going to include a section in the middle or possibly ending where I display the pictures of guests (I'm having them take them in advance but not letting them know why) so just something to keep in mind.
I intend to display one picture per second, possibly slower/faster depending on the section but that's why I need a certain length of time so I don't make my guests' heads explode.
Okay guys, if you have any ideas, Japanese or English would be great. If you want me to clarify anything please feel free to pick my brain. And please don't take anything personally if I don't pick up your suggestions, just, I'm not a music fiend and it's tough to find these things. I've gone through several large wedding BGM suggestion lists and while they've had nice ideas…nothing really HIT me you know?
Oh....Country is out of the question. Sorry Country fans.
