Way to fucking go, Kira! That's an awesome speech. Because it's true. And not without a touch of irony considering this is a series almost entirely about battle and war.
You act as if that's a bad thing.

No she didn't.
She didn't even hint as such.
Exactly, how did I imply that that was a bad thing? This is shonen, I'm surprised if there isn't fighting.
I am just shopping..
The Hero Never Dies
speaking of that kubo needs to grow some fucking balls and kill off some good guys.
I like how characters don't die.
@miracles: are you serious? your telling me that your consent that it's a one sided battle the whole way through? this is suppose to be a damn war, casualties are suppose to happen on both sides. I can't remember a single war in history that one side won flawlessly.
I do. War of Britain vs Zanzibar.
Fucking thing only lasted 37 minutes-_-

All the battles we've been through in Bleach and none of the heroes have died. I am not expecting anyone to die but Espada.
The heroes haven't died in One Piece either and I think things are going pretty well, wouldn't you say?
Yeah, this is one of those veeerrrry rare times I agree with Miracles. I don't care if none of the heroes are killed off.
Well technically…most of the cast is already dead. But death or not, I don't even know anymore since they'll just be reborn in some way or another with this series' system.
@ Miracles:…. I assume you love one sided fights?
@ Satsuki: one piece is one of those series where I rarely expect someone to die. Bleach is a series that I expect people to die.
is togashi the only shonen author today that doesn't have a problem killing off characters and keeping them dead?
@ Miracles:…. I assume you love one sided fights?
I like clean fights, injuries over deaths.
is togashi the only shonen author today that doesn't have a problem killing off characters and keeping them dead?
Kishimoto…..
Kishimoto only kills off characters that are old (good guy characters). Togashi kills off characters that will get introduced than bam dead. Even characters that you would never expect to die will get killed off. Not to mention when a character dies…they die. No revival bullshit of any kind.
Guess he got more bloodthirsty since Yu Yu Hakusho.
Itachi is an old character? or do you mean he's old in that he's not a new character?
And you're forgetting Fullmetal Alchemist. Plenty of death in that one.
There's a difference between killing a character that we all knew would get offed at some point (Itachi was the most hyped fight in the series from the moment he was mentioned) and sudden, horrible, death.
I can only remember it happening once in Hagaren with Hughes, but Hunter x Hunter is full of that kind of thing. Characters who you think will be really important to the storyarc wind up decapitated a few pages later.
To be honest, I don't think either is absolutely necessary to make a good story, as One Piece has shown time and again. I guess some people think a stoy is kiddy or whatever if people aren't getting murdered all the time though. :/
But it should be clear by now that Bleach is not that kind of manga, and it makes no sense to start complaining about it now.
@darklordzenagami: that's what I was trying to say, thank you
I don't think that death makes a good story. I just think that death is vital to a story cause it actually happens. How cheesy would it be if someone you knew got into a major car wreck and both cars exploded but they walked away unscathed? that would suck right? cause you wouldn't feel regret about what you said (if it was bad) or for what you didn't say to that person. Since there now not dead, you'll feel as if you don't have anything to say to him. Without death the world would suck "imagine a world where hitler was still alive" - family guy quote.
I think One Piece pulls off the whole "people never die" thing a hell of a lot better than Bleach because in One Piece neither the villains NOR the heroes die. This is something we know for sure. And when villains are decisively defeated - they for the most part cease being important to the story.
In Bleach heroes never suffer any kind of lasting injuries ever – and when they're about to lose a fight, they always, always get rescued.

Genkai
16 Dark Tournaments.
@The:
Genkai
16 Dark Tournaments.
She came back, and he even said NO REVIVAL BULLSHIT, so pretty bad example there.
Yuu Yuu Hakusho and Hunter x Hunter are completely different animals.
@The Faithfull Shinigami: did you read YYH? or watch it? the winner of the dark tournament were granted a wish. This is shown in a flashback when toguro and genkai were on the same team. Toguro's wish was that he wanted to become a demon. Yusuke wished for genkai's revival.
@Dark Lord Zenigami: I believe you meant anime not animal (lol)
Nope, I meant animal. :p
They may have come from the same guy, but they're completely different in theme.
Well hoping to avoid the "who kills who" matter, there are spoilers out.
! Hisagi finally reveals his Shikai…apparantly it sounds so far a bit like a fusion of Ukitake and that kamaitachi idiot Ishida defeated way back. (twin sickles connected to a chain with a wind elemental) Of course, this is released cause Findor also releases...though the spoiler doesn't say what.
! At least Kubo knows to save the best for last with Ikkaku.
! Finally, Hisagi's release. Should be good times.
@Fire Fist:
! Finally, Hisagi's release. Should be good times.
! So basically if Shuuhei uses his release, that pretty much covers all the people currently there for their initial release…well OK, there is the idiot trio who have released but done nothing with them (Sasakibe, Omaeda, Iba...not counting those not there like Nanao)
Good. People we can expect this battle to be short and sweet.

One Piece handles characters not dying better?
A BIRD SURVIVES A NUCLEAR EXPLOSION
Better than being cut in half and surviving:P
Both survivals are outrageous, come on seriously. Don't be fantards.

I did read that chapter, I just misread the quote. That's all. :sideways:

! Still need Yachiru's release and Unohana's Bankai, too. Also, the three old guy's Bankais, but Yamamoto's Bankai is probably so ridiculous that he just blows everything and everyone up in a ball of fire.
@faithfull shinigami: it's cool
@miracles: i'd have to agree with you that pell serviving that bomb was horse shit.
@miracles: when the hell did lola surive and island blowing blast?
No you have a better chance of surviving a deep cut than a freakin NUKE.
Quit being a butt.LOLA SURVIVES AN ISLAND DESTROYING BLAST!
I said he got cut IN HALF not get a deep cut. :P

! I was mostly talking about those who were actually in the area of the fused Karakura/Soul Society zone. Thus characters like Yachiru weren't mentioned since she's still locked in HM.
@miracles: when the hell did lola surive and island blowing blast?
From Kuma, in the Thriller Bark saga

! Bleach 324: The Claws
! Continues from the last chapter, a headless body of Arivama fell on the floor. Kira sealed back his zanpakutou and said, “Farewell, a sky warrior. And I don’t want you to forgive me.”
! A scene cut to Shuuhei who was looking exhausted. Findor taunted him if that’s all a lieutenant could do. Shuuhei hit back if Findor wanted to say he is not strong as of a lieutenant level.
! “Exacta! As I expected from a lieutenant! If I’m not mistaken then that’s exactly what I mean!”
! “Don’t call me lieutenant! I told you my name is Hisagi Shuuhei.” Then Findor mockingly apologized to Hisagi for being rude (since only Hisagi has introduced himself) then introduced himself as Barrrangan’s fraccion, Findor Garious. The he said the release command, “Crave the water’s surface.” His released form still looked like human only his right part is covered by shield. His right arm has turned in a big crab’s claw as tall him while the left arm looked the same as the right one except only smaller. Findor called it PinsaGuda while Shuuhei just calmly looking at him and said, “So this is Arrancar’s resurreccion (the release).” Findor complimented that Shuuhei has done some research.
! “If you think only you arrancars has done some research on us then you’re mistaken.” Said Shuuhei.
! “I never think so.” Smile Findor.
! Then Findor disappeared so did Shuuhei, that same moment where Shuuhei was standing was cut into two pieces. Findor complimented him for be able to follow sonido’s speed. So Shuuhei snapped back at him for keep saying ‘exacta’.
! “To live is a never-ending hard work. Only those with most correct answers will survive. So no matter who is it would have wanted to gain most correct answers, isn’t that so?”
! “So you’d be the one who give the correct answer?” Then Shuuhei used his left hand to pick out the ornamental chain from his right arm and threw it to Findor. It exploded and he used the moment Firdor still confused to use Hadou #62 Heapporunkan and so many small lighted-pipes attacked Findor and locked him against the wall. While Shuuhei was coming to finish him off, Findor pointed his right claw and the stream of water came out. Shuuhei managed to dodge but he then saw how it actually able to cut the steel tank. Shuuhei was stunt but then Findor used this chance to attack more. Just when Shuuhei is about to get hit, he released his shikai,
! “Harvest, Kazeshini.”
! A note: A kidou Shuuhei used in this chapter is the one he used in the Diamond Dust Rebellion movie (he used it against Histsugaya). The one that people used to argued it was his shikai.
! -His shikai is too hard to describe but it is a double weapons that connected by the chain.
chapters up on one manga, this was a boring chapter to me.
Nothing really happened…except Shuuhei having a weird but interesting Shikai. (now if only we could have seen it when he fought Yumichika long ago so this revelation wouldn't be necessary)
I thought that Ukitake and Kyoraku were the only ones with "twin blade"- zanpakuto's. Doesn't Hisagi's count because it isn't technically a sword? Or did Kubo just forget about it?
Boring chapter, though Hisagi's Shikai is neat. Only guy I can think of in Bleach that has a wind-based release so far. Let's just hope his ability isn't "Generic Wind Power A" coughTamaricough

There was also that Kamaitachi guy who created all those shurikens before being owned by Ishida…and possibly Shunsui if you're to believe the video games.
Hey, finally, a scythe!
yeah, not much happening this week, but nice banter as usual. But this reminds me that Bleach is one of the harder series to read weekly, it's best taken in chunks.
