Kuma deflects Law's attempts to use his on the warlord.
=P
I'd be very impressed if Kuma could deflect…whatever the hell Law's ability is. If it is teleporting or matter conversion though...I don't think he could do it.

He can deflect fatigue out of Luffys body… so it's up for debate if he really can deflect something as abstract as space distortion or whatever it is.
Bonney has some significance with Ann Bonney? a famous female pirate http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_Bonny
did you even read the first post in this thread akusokuzan?
rhetorical question
It was still mentioned in the first post in this thread…
Uh, since 508 i think Hawkins iss able to sacrifice people around him.
Look: at the moment he got hitten by Kizaru into the Face, a random Pirate goes down with a Bloody aye.
The next time he got Bruned by the Admiral, another one goes down burning.
And after standing up, 2 puppets falling down from his Arm, one Bruning, one with a "Destryoed" eye.
sacrefice people around him.
What do u think ?
I think your on to something there.
Where those part of his crew?
Or did he just find random people sometimes and just take a hair or somethign from them to be able ot make the voodoo doll?
one of them seemed to be a captain judging by his hat.
I mean who would follow a guy that sacrifices random members of his crew everytime he gets hit?
Someone suggested that he had to touch or make some kind of contact with the person, then he would make a voodo doll of the person, where he could redirect the damage to.
I'm really hoping that isn't the extent of his ability, using the cards there seem to use probability to predict future outcomes, and he has a sword (Is that it.) on his waist, I expect alot from his character. I'd like to see him go far into the grandline. ;V
After looking at chapter more carefully I noticed that the two that died where both on different groves than hawkins and each other.
One on 27, and other at harbour, while hawkins and his priest looking crewmates are on 24.
So probably pretty safe to assume he is not killing his own men. And yea be nice to see how he fights, we know how he defends.
He mentioned something about can't face an admiral with a mere 10 men. I think that's all the voodoos he got.
i think that he is a pretty good swordsman as well
coz IMO his voodoo dolls dont really look like they can attack very well
let's speculate what the hell Basil hawkins mustve ate to get those abilities.
It's wierd that he has precognition as well as voo doo dolls because df's seem to give the user one real ability. Sure people like Luffy can alter their ability (gears) but they still stick to the same principle. Hawkins however has two unrelated abilities and it's still unknown how it's possible. I can think of a few possibilities:
-one df: a fruit that allows him to use magic. Foxy and Moria also had df's that affected physics that are impossible in the real world.
-a second df user: one of his crew mates were using the dolls (unlikely)
-he's an illusionist like real world magicians (unlikely)
-Kizaru's just stoned and the last chapter was just his hallucination. Hawkin's ability, the multiple Kumas, Urouge growing huge muscles, Sentoumaru's existence, all never happened.
-he'll just keep using wierd abilities in future and there will never be a scientific explanation
some facts about the supernova thread is thattaway –------>
EDIT: i actually take that back, just refer to the chapter thread for 508, it discusses Hawkins' power to death.
I hope its last one of those.
let`s just wait 2 more days…i have the feeling that the next chapter will bring us the answer....(but i hope we will see first more of kid and law against kuma-bot)
alternate theory:
-YOU are stoned and the whole last chapter, and us discussing it, is just your hallucination.
It's rather simple. His ability is the dolls. He can target humans and have the power of attacks transfered to them only as long as he has targets to spare. He went into battle with Kizaru with only 10 targets, which he speculated wouldn't be enough.
The precognition is just a character trait, so to speak. His predictions come from an ability that he, himself, honed. This is most self-evident when he uses the tarot card to try and predict the probability of success of his options. I do not think a devil fruit would help in particular with reading tarot cards, since that would be a very limited ability. He himself learned how to read the signs in the way that a modern day psychic would fake (or believe they could do).
Well, since Miss Goldenweek and Jango have non-DF supernatural powers (both of which can be described as "psychic" abilities) and powers like auras, "haki", illusions (Zoro's asura) and super-human feats can be achieved through training, I bet Hawkins has no Devil Fruit. He uses low-level (i.e. subtle) magic (voodoo and divination). He probably has other abilities beyond using voodoo dolls to transfer damage or cards to see the future.
In b4 the move!!!!!
Too soon to speculate Hawkins could have any type of Devil fruit. I predict his next move will set in stone his DF ability (if he has one)
I'm guessing neither of those are related to a devil fruit.
I'm just saying that anything goes. I think he has a DF but no one has SOLID proof. So for now everything is speculation. I've heard others suggesting a straw fruit but IMO that is stretching it A LOT with the voodoo and foresight.
well i'm not saying he don't have a devil fruit. Just that the predictions/cards and the dolls/voodoo thing are both like real things (not saying they work, but some peopel think they do)
So as someone stated above about ms. goldenweek and jango. Those were both powers that were not fruit based. Of course Jango's is easiest to grasp because of all the hypnotism anyone has probably seen.
Aint Goldenweek is DF powers?
I thought it was as well, because of the whole Vivi saying 5 and lower are all df users.
but Due to her painting skills, many readers and fans alike believe that Miss Goldenweek may have eaten a Devil Fruit of some sort. Oda however explained in the SBS that she was merely a type of a hypnotist that uses colors as a manner of suggestion.
So apparantly she was just mistaken, which is easy to see. Considering how strange devil fruits are and rare. It made us all think it was a devil fruit
Aint Goldenweek is DF powers?
Nope. Just good old fashion hippie paint (if you catch my drift:ninja:)
I know it's not canon until it comes out, but I don't see how people think he doesn't have a devil fruit when the dolls grew out of his arm. If it was just normal voodoo dolls, I could see no devil fruit, but when something grows out of his body, I just don't see it being anything else. Who knows, it'll all be explained.
Isn't this thread for facts (or at least real life facts that the supernovae may or may not be based on)? why is the speculation about hawkins fruit here? shouldn't it be in theories that doesn't deserve their own thread or whatever thread is the best suited?
Thats what I thought when I said "In b4 the move" o.O
Well, even if the dolls come out of Hawkins' body, he could have a Straw DF like someone else said in this thread, but use it to create the voodoo dolls to make his magic/psychic thing. A guy with both DF and voodoo/psychic powers would be pretty cool (and worth 249,000,000 bellies).
Ch. 509 - "Explanation"
The whole chapter explains everyones powers: Supernovas and Kizaru and why there are multiple Kumas. I need that kinda chapter right now, because there is WAY too many things up to speculation right now.
My thoughts are basil has a devil fruit, he must have a voodo based fruit or even a transfer fruit? either way when his voodoos got damaged the person he used to take their place were damaged. Maybe he has to mix the persons hair with the straw voodoo dolls for it to work other wise he takes all the damage.. hell even kizaru thought his powers were strange.

The whole point of not explaining right away is to keep people guessing and make it interesting. Oda will explain things when he thinks the time is right. If you don't like speculation, they stay out of speculation threads and just wait for the real answer.
It's a given that people are going to try to come up with theories that are going to be stupid, get over it.
What do you guys think is the reason Drake became a pirate. He doesn't seem reckless to just up and rebel for no reason, maybe he found out something about the Navy/WG. Something tells me he isn't going after One Piece (if so, not for the same reason as others). Maybe it could relate the the WG trying to do "something".
<<
I think that Drake found out too much about the higher ups, kind of like how Smoker is now. He couldn't deal with the World Government's evil and decided to do something about it but he couldn't do it as a marine. Kizaru's line "So, you're not just seeing what it's like on the other side?" suggests that when Drake left he might of had the intention of going back. But now he seems to have taken to being a pirate and will stay one.
well Hawkins=strawman
apoo=music man
Drake=dino man
Just my thoughts,
Eustass Kid: Magnetic Powers of repulsion and attraction over metal objects (Franky screwed?). Unknown if he can hold metal objects in midair and propel them, but most likely.
Basil Hawkins: Carries a number of straw dolls that act like substitutes that receive damage for him, and then transfer the damage to another. The requirements for the damage transfer and if the individual receiving the damage is intended or just a coincidence, or if it depends on the situation (Hawkins could've been rushing it and made the scapegoats a coincidence; He may be able to purposely direct the attack toward someone else) He can also turn into or create a suit of straw, thereby becoming a Voodoo Doll/Scarecrow monster close to 20ft, (if not taller) with metal nails for claws.
X Drake: Wields a 4-bladed ax and a rapier. Dinosaur zoan powers allows him to turn into a carnivorous bipedal dinosaur resembling a tyrannosaurus rex. I expect a hybrid form wielding both weapons to be completely badass!
Trafalgar Law: Creates a possibly 360 area (possible bottom half extends below ground) Seems to slow the momentum of projectiles and falling objects. So it may decrease velocity and acceleration (Maybe) Objects of relatively similar size can be instantaneously replaced with each other. Once the "Room" is deactivated, or the objects leaves the room, it returns to its normal velocity. Swordsmanship appears to allow him to dismember and even decapitate his enemies, but still keep them alive. They can even feel the pain from other parts of their body while still separated. May be related to his DF power, but this may be unlikely because the "ROOM" was deactivated. The body parts can be reattached with relative ease and can even attach to a different body, creating confusion amongst Laws enemies. (Remember Rurouni Kenshin? Kenshin could cut a turnip in half, and then reattach it because its cells were completely undamaged [this was after his sword was broken and he needed a new one] Oda did work with the RK author)
Scratchmen Apoo: Favorite SN! Possible martial artist for close combat. DF fruit turns possibly every part of his body (this is gonna turn into another "can his penis also…" SBS corner question) into a musical instrument. Can target one (possibly multiple) enemy and perform attacks on them based on sound affects (Don! for an explosion and "Shan" for a slash) Unknown how detailed the attacks are, like if Kizarus arm really severed, or just seperated like with Buggys or Laws powers.
Killer: Difficult to say, but I'm really hoping he's like Zoro. No DF, but makes up for it with other qualities. Skills seem to lay in flexibility, speed, dexterity, and his skills with the rotating sickles.
Jewelery Bonney: Can alter the age of herself and most likely anyone else she touches. The duration of her affect is unknown, but may be permanent (or else you grow out of it or die earlier than expected if she makes you old) Other battle skills, if any, are unknown.
Capone Bege: Living, freaking castle. Do to the earlier statement from the marine, he needs actually men to utilize the full extent of his DF powers (He cant create his own). Objects within a close radius of his body shrink and can then enter his body via a draw bridge. Objects leaving this radius will return to normal size and velocity. With a large enough crew, he becomes a one man army. Also makes it easier for his entire crew to move around even with the bounty on his head.
Urouge: Slings around a large hexagonal pillar as a weapon, but abondons it once he uses his ability. Can apparently increase his muscle mass and size tremendously. May be do to receiving significant damage, and then turns the damage into raw power. After growing, relies on hand-to-hand combat. Possibly a DF or a natural ability similar to Seimei Kikan (Life Returns)
Well, that was fun. Any questions? comments?
Looks like an excellent summary My only nitpicks is that I belive Drake's weapon is a mace not an axe, and Urouge's ability may have something to do with buddist teachings.
I don't think anyone's said this yet, and I think it makes sense:
X Drake = eXtinct drake, using the old definition of Drake to mean dragon.
@Capt:

Just as long as Urouge's powers are not from a DF, most of the SN have DF powers already. As for Drake, it doesnt matter if he uses a mace or a 4-bladed ax, just imagine it. Dinosaur Hybrid Drake kicking Kumabot's ass while wielding both mace/ax and rapier in each hand.
In a good mood because I'm listening to "Happiness is a Warm Gun" by The Beatles.
EDIT: In regards to Drake's zoan form, I looked into the "number of fingers" thing and it is true that T-Rex only has three. This only stands if Oda knew that T-Rex only had two fingers and chose something else. Two dinosaurs I was looking into were the Allosaurus, slightly smaller than a T-Rex, and then I found Giganotosaurus! Bigger than a T-Rex, and only smaller than the Spinosaurus (JP3), and has three fingers. The only arguement that could be brought up are the spikes running down its spine. Also, concerning the dragon theory, ancient zoan gives a feeling of dinosaurs, while mythical would be a better word for a dragon. Plus I havent seen any wings on Drakes back.
I definitely think he's a dinosaur, I just think that there's probably enough similarities between dragons and dinosaurs to explain his name.
Also, the X is probably also a pun on his ex-commodore status.
Holy Crap its Hawkins!
X is supposed ta mean ten..(roman numeral) and spanish for 10 is diez..so really his name is Diez Drake…

Everyone knows that(I hope, it's in the original post) But despite his name being 10 he still has an X theme amirite?
T-Re**X** anyone?
That was cute. It made me giggle. GOL:silly:
