Hey you all xD I wanted to post this amazing wig I got for Burgess.
And yes.. that is my sis's Doc Q hat. And no, the costume is not done and therefore I am wearing her hat because I don't have the mask xD
Anyways, the Black Beard pirates are going to take over thursday night at Animefest xD
and takers on Black Beard or possibly the other too? My sis and I are cosplaying Burgess and Doc Q obviously xD

A few piccie updates before A-Kon.
My fingers are Mango Orange. Thanks, Katie Bair. LOL!
Right now, the wig is saturated with the dye, so it's more orange than it will be once I wash out the excess.
I think it's a pretty orange, though. It will eventually be PirateNeko's Kaku wig, at least for the time being.
And…a pre-Con picture of Kuma, courtesy of LynnValentine. I can't get over how hilarious I look. I have to wrap my upper half in lots of bedsheets to get bulk up top since I don't have money for something nicer and more appropriate right now.

Couldn't cut it too short without revealing the meshing inside the wig. But it looks okay now, I think.

! I made it myself, I'm pretty proud since I've never actually sewn before! ^^; There are a few little mistakes, but nothing to cry over.
I'm so glad mom let me use some of her canvas fabric and acrylic paint… it was so perfect for this!

Hey guys, I often lurk around this thread and I've seen a lot of great costumes and props from the people here. Very impressive work! I'm not as hardcore as some of you so I wanted to ask for a little advice maybe. I'm doing two costumes for Otakon this year (by the way, who's going?): Young Simon (Gurren Lagann) and Enies Lobby Nami. I haven't started Simon yet but I have some parts of my Nami costume.

shoesHaha…so essentially I haven't "made" anything yet since I bought all these items but I plan to make the skirt and alter a cropped cardigan for the rest (the skirt in the picture is from last year's Water 7 cosplay and the cardigan came out of my mom's closet)
I've been making costumes for a few years now so I'm pretty good at it but I really wanted to ask about props. Has anyone here ever made a log pose? If so how did/would you do it? I can't think of any good materials. Same with the climatact, I probably won't make it come apart or anything but what kinds of materials would you suggest? Also, should I bleach my eyebrows? I know it looks weird to have such dark eyebrows with an orange wig like this but it would be really hard to do my Simon cosplay if I do. Thanks in advance and good luck to everyone on their own projects.
