It doesnt look like it is going to fail :D
Cant wait fo May always seems like Comic movie month haha.
-
Wow, looks nice. I can't say more as I've never read any of the Iron Man comics (like most comics) nor am I familiar with anything about Iron Man.
-
Always been a fan of Iron Man. He's actually quite the complex character, since he tries to do what he thinks is right, yet he's almost always waaaaaaaaaaaay too extreme with it. Like with the Superhero Registration Act.
-
This looks awesome. ^^
I don't know much about Iron Man though, does any Iron Man fan care to share their opinion on the casting choice? He seems sweet.

I got a feeling this is gonna be one of the best superhero movies ever. And most likely the best Marvel movie since Spiderman 2 (probably even better).
-
So it's gonna show Him in various suits he made till he got the one he wears the most? awesomeness. But who the hell is he gonna fight in the movie?
-
^The Mandiran.
My main hilight of this movie is the prototype armor beating the living shit outa ppl, seriously 5 minutes of that and this will undoubtly be the best Comic hero movie yet! -
My hopes are unusually high. Maybe because Downey looks so damn much like a good Stark.
-
bah they took the youtube video down..
-
too bad all the commie nations died out, ironman never was as awesome as he was when hes fighting of russian commies like Titanium man and Crimson dynamo and spewing patriotic dogma by the gallon, and speaking of which is Mandys probably gonna be having some henchfolk any word on that? other than that the armor looks good they really captured how bulky and cubersome its supposed to be.

So far Robert does an excellent Tony Stark, dunno about the other actors. The main lead female is something I'm bit disliked with somewhat…
-
Heads up ppl, turns out IronMan will be facing the Iron Monger (I could SWEAR I know ZERO of ANY of IronMan's enemies, let alone the Hulk's!)
Plus if there will be sequels, expect to see Drunk Robert D. Jr. and War Machine :ninja:
Source -
I'm glad they're leaving that stuff outta this one. It'd be too much.
-
^I kinda agree also it will have a setting for the next movies.
Ya know one thing that'll seperate this movie from the other super hero movies is that the character of Tony Stark isn't 'young', I dunno how to explain it but that's how I see it.
BTW I put up new links for the teaser/trailer :). -
Pre jerkface Iron Man on the big screen
The complexity of the suit, the maintanice it needs to function, the budget needed to keep it working, the risk of it being hijacked, and the health issues it causes Tony are what this movie should run on. I want this to be built around the consequences for Tony"s choices rather than stopping a powerful villain
-
I hope at the end of the film, after all the battles have been fought. The final scene is Tony taking a slow but pleasurable sip of alcohol. Now I've got that in my head I'm going to be disappionted if it isn't how it ends.

last few comic book movies seen
X-men 3
spiderman-3
Fantastic four
DaredevilIm feeling lucky with this onel
-
The red and gold. Granov took that ugly Hulk Hogan color scheme and made magic. I get goosebumps just seeing that damned suit.
I don't really know what I feel the focus should be. I can't think of a great storyline that would do it for the big screen. For a sequel, it sure would be cool if he got all anal and destroyed a bunch of other robosuits, though. I guess he'd work just as well as a badguy.
-
Get it while it's there!!!
For those that want to DL it with Keepvid.com, first enter the link and at the bottom there will be a rectangle with a URL of the vid, just use that with KeepVid and it will tell u what to do afterwards.
While it's nothing more but a clearer and somewhat altered teaser of the one shown on ComicCon weeks ago, it's still worth watching for the fact it's clear;
"That's ridiculous, I don't paint." XD -
I love that "I am Iron Man!" at the end. I like what I see so far so I'm definetely going to see it.
I want this film to revolve around the hard work it takes to maintane the suit. Malfunctions, budget issues, problems with the government, that's what an Iron Man movie needs. But if that can't deliver, I just hope this stays pre-douchebag Tony Stark.
-

I Know I'm a bit belated responding to this quote but we've already seen what
happens in Superhero movies that don't have decent or credible supervillians and you some lame/tired villian or decide to focus on something else you get The Hulk & Superman Returns. -
The images of this movie so far are bringing sexy back.
And the irony of having Downey playing Tony Stark is just great. Couldn't think of a better casting choice.
-
@Freeman-12:
That is a beautiful picture. Such a nice armor!!!
This is truly inspiring for some stories of mine…Anyways, 2 months ago I was working on an informative speech about Comic Book heroes, and while I was printing pictures off the internet for them, I went to Marvel.com and watch the Iron Man video, which totally blew me away. Sadly, I can't find that video on the site anymore.
I don't know much about Iron Man, but this is what I've heard from an article somewhere about the beginning.
-Stark goes to Iraq or some country waging war at the time to work on some weapon.
-Gets kidnapped by terrorists.
-Terrorists lock him up and force him to work on a new weapon for them.
-Stark eventually makes an Iron suit and adds weapons to them to escape. And the rest is up to your imagination.
--EDIT--
Ah, found that video.

IRON MAN WILL APPEAR IN HULK MOVIE!!!
-
Will Hulk appear in the iron man movie?
-
Not as far as I know.
-
Maybe this will become like a view askew thing where marvel characters pop up for cameos in other marvel movies. j/k
I like this quote about the Hulk movie.
Unlike Ang Lee, director Louis Leterrier (the "Transporter" films) is intent on laying off the "Hulk as misunderstood monster" angle, thereby making him more heroic. "I want to see the relationship between Hulk and a world that realizes he's not the villain," Hurt said. "Hulk and [Tyler's Betty Ross] have their moment, and the crowd realizes he's not the bad guy."
-
Kickass…is all I'll say for now :D

Fuck yes. Fuck you Millar, fuck you Quesada, fuck you Civil War. This is Iron Man I want.
and the sabbath at the end was PERFECT
-
Very much agreed.
I'm really looking forward to this now, and I also just heard about the fact that they're putting Ironman in The Incredible Hulk, at least for some small role. Interesting stuff.

Got some good news and bad news-
Bad News:-
Sam L. Jackson's scene in the movie will only be seen in the DVD release, i.e. it is said to be cut out from the film :(Good news:-
It's been said that this is what Fin Fang Foom would look like if he can be added to one of the sequels-
…and for the nearing of the release here's a War Machine figure-
-
I knew I'd find this thread eventually! OMFG it's here in less than a week (if you live in the UK ^^) now and cause I work at a cinema, I GET TO WATCH IT TUESDAY NIGHT, HELLS FUCKING YEAH!!!!
This is going to be my single favorite moment this year so far, I CAN FEEL IT!!!!
-
^Oooh good for you mate :D
-
Bump :P
Well booked me a ticket for the airing tomorrow, will post impressions when I get back. -
I'm actually exited about this film now. I only wasn't previously though, because I know absolutely nothing about Iron Man.
So everything will be a surprise for me. Unlike all of the other Superhero movies.
-
I saw it, I won't spoil it as I don't think it's actually been released anywhere yet, but I must say, the movie certainly lives up to it's hype and if you're already an avid Iron Man fanatic points at Freeman this movie is AWESOME!!!
Can't wait for the sequal already :3

AH,DAMN YOU!I planned to see it tomorrow, but My family wants to watch it the day after tomorrow.
One Question:! How's the Iron Man vs. Iron Monger fight?Choose one of these options:
a)EPICLY KICKASS!
b)Disappointing pure failure
Thanks. -
Just back from watching it, and really enjoyed it too. It didn't suffer from half of the over-the-top and corny shit super-hero movies are plagued with. Even the bad guy was surprisingly subtle.
The ending line, along with the cameo by you-know-who after the credits made things 100 times more interesting. I sincerely hope that good things come out of both of those.

Yes yes, tho IMHO I think the movie could've gone with another 30 more minutes, since I had a bad taste of how it ended. Still GREAT movie, go watch it!
ATM I give it 4 out of 5.BTW….
^You know who's cameo:ninja: -
Aaah, the beauty of the internet. =P
It was kinda cool for me since I had no idea whether it would be there or not. The preview copies of the movie apparently didn't have it. So sitting through the credits waiting was kinda exciting.
-
I just got back from the Midnight Showing not long ago.
It… it was spectacular. I'm at a loss for words, partly because of the movie and partly because it's 3:30 AM here. But just go see it.
Make sure you stay for the credits. :)
-
Saw the early showing last night. My jaw was on the floor most of the film. This is definitely going to go down as one of the best superhero movies alongside Batman Begins & Spider-Man 2 in most people's books. Hell, I can't stop thinking about the movie, even after I got home last and when I woke up this morning.
-
Just saw it yesterday.Fuck yeah,It was epic!Tony Stark is the pimp.
-
Gah, I have to wait until Monday to see it with my uncle.
You know, I bet it was hard for Robert Downey Jr. to make a millionaire playboy a character you sympathize for. :P
-

Easily the best part was Downey Jr. playing Tony Stark, now that I've seen the movie I can't think of anyone who could play it better.
! I'm super psyched that there's going to be an Avengers movie now :3
-
I came back from seeing it, and I really enjoyed it. Everything came together pretty nicely, and I knew someone was going to cameo at the end…
but I never thought it'd be HIM... let alone the actor playing as him. Now I'm interested.
