one piece is so much better then naruto but instead of waiting im just buying all of alabasta in japanese. i dont care if i cant read it unless i go along wit it on the internet.
but i just cant wait god viz sucks so bad naruto is a horrible 2 year old kid manga and bleach is boring were its at take it out of the magazine and release 1 volume every 2 months then 4.
viz should also release pokemon special ( i no pokemon but its actully not kiddish) and the only thing they are doing right is black cat and prin. of tennis.

by the way does anyone get dgrayman at all its so boring my opion

onepiece gets no credit and it sucks

Let's not use this thread as a base for poor criticism for other series'. >.> Also makes you wonder why your username is "sasuke6000". =p Anyway, I'm not gonna read their Pokemon releases. They're censored, and flopped. Censhorship + Flopped Book=No purchase. Don't they also use the dub names ? Yeah, just no. They should release more of the titles that actually have decent treatment.

My scanner did almost everything for me, all I had to do with bend the spine of my Shonen Jump, line it up properly, weigh it down with some dictionaries, pick a few settings and do very little tweaks in Photoshop. I even fixed Viz's crappy centering for their text in that one speech bubble of Crocodile's. Shame I don't get Weekly Shonen Jump, I could probably be of use with my scanner. ($107 well spent?)

I'm actually tempted to scan all of Alabasta and release it online do to the scanlations we have of it online (null) aren't great but far from awful, the only thing about this (besides the work) is the art edits that Viz sometimes does, as well as the 4kids terms but I can very easily fix that in Photoshop.

What do you guys think? Think its worth it, think Viz would send a cease and desist? XD

Either way, even if I don't do that I'd like to do the color pages either tho they are a bitch. But hey, Viz, barely does anything to them.

The English and Japanese graphic novels have the spreads but only in black and white. Shonen Jump (Japan & USA) and the Color Walks are the only way to get the spreads in color.

I'd like that, it'd be nice to be able to read the Viz version, see what they're up to, what they're doing to the series, etc. I really wish I could get the magazine…

The shonen jump issues have them in full color, the volumes both english and japanese have them but smaller and in Black & White.

The it seems they didn't always have them in color, for example I have the first ever issue of American Shonen Jump and the beginning of One Piece which is suppose to be color is still black and white.

Speaking of that, I just looked at my Jan 2003, March 2003, and Sept 2004 issues (the only ones I got old, the rest are new from recently) and it makes me said. Back then they didn't cater to an entire series, even their cash cow at the time DBZ was kept fair to the other series. And god, the magazine was beautiful back then! Such high quality paper, the colorspreads look like posters with how clear they are.

Too bad things will never be like this again, this also makes me said I don't own the 2003-2006 (dunno when they downgraded) jumps.

Needless to say, the One Piece chapters in these would be a breeze to scan, it probably wouldn't even need cleaning. But unlike the new ones, I don't think I can bring myself to break their spines even tho they are already worn pretty big.

One Piece got a whole page advertisement with the Straw Hat flap and 'berry' coins on it in addition to a blurb on the 'in this issue page' (not the actual table of contents) which had (the original coverart) and the usual rederic of 'uncut, newly dubbed, the way it was meant to be seen' stuff.

What I mean is release 3 volumes 4 months in a year which will add up to 12.

It's not too much, it's just that Viz doesn't do it. There's nothing preventing them from releasing the series monthly until they catch up with the japanese releases. Several publishers in other countries do that. I actually wish they'd do that, as it would mean that we wouldn't have to wait for years before we actually get to own the chapters… The same goes for any of their series, really. ESPECIALLY the ones that are either really far behind or already finished in Japan.

I seriously wanna know how they can keep managing to put Naruto on the cover. Do they pay Kishimoto or does Kishimoto seriously just produce hundreds upon hundreds of illustrations of him cause he likes it?

I just got it yesterday. The American version of the fan art from the readers is sort of interesting. Overall, an okay issue. Nice to see Slam Dunk chapter release is increasing a bit more from just 1 chapter a month for a 300+ chapter series.

Slam Dunk is that long a series' ? Wow. I've read all of the chapters of it so far in Shonen Jump, and think it's a pretty fun read. I could probably read the whole series' via scanslations over the internet. But I don't care that much for the series' to do so, and I think its kinda fun to actually have something new to read in the magazine every month.

I like the fanart to in most issues. There is some exceptionally good art, and some decent pictures. I wonder what they'd do if someone sent in a Zoro fanart pic but didn't spell it as "Zolo" ? … Nevermind, it's simple-they just don't publish those. Oh well. Anyway, exactly how many chapters is it for Slam Dunk ? The last issue was two chapters. Is it three now ? I still haven't got my issue. :getlost:

Really? I honestly don't think that much of it. But I'm sure I'll enjoy it anyway. Well, 2 chapters sounds good anyway. I'm guessing there is an anime adaption to right ? If there is, VIZ will probably pick it up within the year.
