Hammond…pfft. I want Vision and Hawkeye back.

Killing Joke got rereleased today with new colors.
Save the fact that the Hawaiian shirt was recolored, it is damn good.
-
@Freeman-12:
^Origins is THAT bad huh? I fear for Way's involvement in the future DP comics >_<
Not THAT bad, just not worth very much. If you're interested flip through this week's issue, it's slightly better than usual.
But before you do that, flip through Cap, Hercules, Iron Man, and Iron Fist, because they're actually above average.
-
Oh yeah Bru's Cap series is cool, might pick up Iron Fist in the near future as well.
Anyway Union Jack is badass; read his mini-series.
On that token, Arabian Knight is the LAMEST name for a meta-human, ever.
Finally Cass is officially my fav. DC character-
-
Batman and the Outsiders is one of the best books being published by DC right now. And Cassandra is finally back to being a great character again, after the OYL mess.
-
Next time on X-Men Legacy 210-
! Xavier vs. Mutant-who-salvaged-his-body-whatever-his-name-is!
So anyone ready for Secret Invasion?
-
X-Men 209
! Magneto and the Omega Sentinel try to revive Xavier while he's taking a trip through his own mind and remembering past confrontations with Magneto. While he's coming to, former Acolyte Cargill starts acting like a total bitch and wipes the floor with Omega Sentinel and almost kills the two of them before Magneto finds some laser tool and shoots her in the eye with it. Exodus is still sore about Magneto being a human now, and harming Cargill, a mutant, so he tries to kill him before Xavier steps in.
! So it's Professor X vs Exodus, apparently. Despite the book having little direction so far I am pretty excited about this.Meanwhile, the Avengers:
! Doom is captured by the Mighty team, while Echo fights a lameass Skrull and sleeps with Hawkeye.
-
have anyone ever read any of the Nightwing graphic novels? Or the Wolverine and Gambit teamup? I bought them a couple years ago they were good.
How are Hellboy comics?
-
Hellboy and BPRD are good, but I haven't gotten into them yet; still going thru my Marvel collection, but might start them anytime soon :/
-
OH NOESSSZZZ11!!11Ares had better not turn out to be a Skrull that's been impersonating him since Day 1; that'd be fucking gay.
Speaking of which, Ares should be the no. 1 reason you should be reading Mighty Avengers for.
-
I liked issue one of SI, it was entertaining
and there was this
!
-
This post is deleted!
-
After reading the Captain Marvel mini, I have a full idea of WTF is going on. …but what I don't get is-
! if you're a Skrull Sleeper Agent and are in denial of being a Skrull, why not just attempt to shapeshift to discover whether you're a Skrull or not?
-
How much do you think the New Ultimate Avengers #1-5 will be in like 30 years? Cause i got em
-
^Which one are you talking about? Is it the one by Joe M. and Jeph Loeb?
-
whoever does this
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Avengers -
I got the deluxe edition of Batman: the Killing Joke. I've fallen in love with this story all over again. Though it does remind me of how Batman has somewhat turned into Naruto: the creator puts Batman aside to focus on the supporting cast.
-

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_AvengersYou missed Brian Micheal Bendis?

The Ultimates and New Avengers are actually two very different things. In 30 years, those 5 may cost $90 a piece. The average comic will probably cost $12 in 2038.

Stupid Mistake i knew they were diffrent i dont know why i wrote that
-
Nova was pretty entertaining. Cosmo is said to appear in the new Guardians of the Galaxy series. Might pick that up as well.
-
The Preacher series by Garth Ennis is great! I've been reading the graphic novel volumes and loving every page. :)
-
Scion (from CrossGen comics) is cool, but then again I only got into it cuz of Cheung's art XD
-
Go read Wolverine Origins 24 NOW!
Also Cap. Marvel finale, Warbound finale, A. Conquest finale & Avengers Initiative finale(?) are out. -
Where da Sam & Max fans at?
-
@Freeman-12:

-
Fuck Daken, Logan can have as many kids as he wants; READ IT FOR DEADPOOL!
From US War Machine Vol. 1-
-
Hulk #3 was good, and Hulk #4 is gonna rock.
Young Avengers Presents was OK this issue, glad they got Vision out of the way, now I can really look forward to the next two of Hawkeye and Stature :D
Ms. Marvel and Uncanny X-Men were good too. -
I'm really finding myself wanting to get into American comics, I'm getting to the point of losing interest in manga (outside One Piece and Berserk) and even getting annoyed at the anime/manga art style (the exaggerated kind, at least). I'd like to start reading things of my own heritage.
So, what do you guys suggest?
I've never seen a Nightmare or Friday movie, but this looks tight:

[hide][qimg]http://i31.tinypic.com/2a7g3n5.jpg[/qimg][/hide]Other than DeadPool, you may want to give the following a read-
Union Jack Vol. 2 (it's a 4 issue series from 2006-2007)
Batgirl (73 or so issue series starring Cassandra Cain, it started in 1999 and finished in 2006)
Batman and the Outsiders (the new one that started in 2007, 6 issues so far but has Cassandra kicking ass and such)
Hellboy and BPRD
Usagi Yojimbo
Bones
Mighty Avengers
Watchmen
Ares: God of War (5-issue miniseries)
IDW's Transformers comics (read them even if you don't like the TF series)
X-Men: Warsong (or was it Endsong, it's the one where Phoenix takes over Jean's body and the battle ends at some snowy mountain)
Nightcrawler miniseries (He bitchslaps Mephisto in the final issue)
US War Machine Vol. 1 -
Wow, that's quite a lot. Guess I'll be hitting up the torrent sites? I have a comic store very close, but not walking close. My mom (I can't drive) doesn't wanna take me to it tho cause she thinks it looks "shady", with it being back behind all the other places in a white brick building with a huge Superman crest painted on the side of it.
I keep trying to tell her the location kinda comes with the field of interest.
-
Hey Buuhan, if you need any help finding torrents for specific comics, I'm willing to help ya.
My advice, pick up Bone. It's more of a fantasty story than an action hero story.
http://www.mininova.org/tor/54923 -
Mind you that is just the tip of the Iceberg, I'll put up more once I'm done with my tests next week.
-
Buuhan. I've no idea where to find scans but I'll make it easy for you. Here's what's good.
Captain America. Because it's currently THAT book, and people will be discussing it decades from now.
Iron Man. Because it validates the character's surge in popularity.
Iron Fist. Because the "kung-fu" billionaire thing goes over well with most anyone.
X-Men First Class. Because it's an X-Men book that's easy to understand and actually good.
The Twelve. Because it's a new series about old men and their ass kicking ways.
Ghost Rider. Because you may want to eventually read something badass.
Thunderbolts. Because it's about bad guys and still the best team book.
Action Comics. Because you have to, and you'll want to. -
Oh, I highly recommend Thunderbolts. Start with issue #110 though. That's when things change from good to better. I am in love with the series. Pitty Warren Ellis is leaving the series. He was one of the reasons why it was such a fantastic read.
-
Before I forget-
READ ANYTHING BY ED BRUBAKER
He's writing the current Captain America series and Uncanny X-Men, and has written the first 20-30 issues of Catwoman and some Immortal Iron Fist. He also did some Daredevil IIRC and he worked on a very popular series called Criminal. -
Transformers Spotlight: Grimlock is out :D
-
Dunno if this is the best place to talk about it, but something cool happened to me yesterday while at Chilies. I was drawing and the bar manager came up to me (He's named Adam, he looks young but he's close to 30) and said he liked my work and asked if I could draw him some things. He builds import cars from Japan, and his dad does paint jobs for jets.
He said he's into dark stuff and mainly went on about Dirty Harry, Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, and Pinhead. I'm never seen any of the movies with any of these characters, but I know the last 3 enough, I drew him a quick Jason sketch from what I know and he seemed to like it. He says he'll buy drawings from me and pass me forward as he has connections.
I'm definitely wanting to read a lot of comics, after all I'm trying to be a comic book author. Can't do that off of just what I read of manga, especially cause I don't wanna draw "Japanesey".
-

It's always good to broaden your horizons
I assume you're looking for "action" comics from the same ilk as those from Marvel and DC, correct?
My advice, pick up Bone. It's more of a fantasty story than an action hero story.
http://www.mininova.org/tor/54923I agree it's a very well made comic. However, I would not reccommend downloading it (or any other comic for that matter) over the internet except as a last resort. Instead, try and get interlibrary loans and read them in print. Comics make a much better read on paper than on the computer screen.

Warren Ellis is also the main reason that it isn't #1, though. Great as it is, that book's been late as hell for most of the last year. Gage is taking over, and he'll be on time, I just hope he's half as good.
And Brubaker's Daredevil is Nyquil.

^ I know how you feel man, i used to collect/ read a lot of comics before i moved. Now i dont know where any comic shops are…>.>

OK some quick stuff-

^First look at the Captain Britain mini starting next month.
Also it seems Jim Cheung is gonna work on New Avengers-

Got Mighty Avenges 12 yesterday and noticed the Sentry was circled in red. I'd be really disappointed if Marvel revealed he was a Skrull and removed him. I personally prefer and generally find a powerful super hero with various issues more interesting than a powerful boy scout super hero who's weak against a stone.
-
^To heck with Sentry, why the heck is the Inhumans' pet circled?!
-
Lockjaw is Fury's secret lover that's why.

Same, though I am starting to like Ares.
