What's that one about exactly?

Well, each volume is kind of stand alone, but they are all interconnected as one story. Like, the first volume takes place the earliest, then the second volume takes place the farthest into the future. It kind of alternates like this: (Earliest in the past, farthest in the future, next earliest, next farthest in the future, etc.) Eventually it was going to meet somehow (and go full circle - like the reincarnation of the Phoenix), but unfortunately, Tezuka died before finishing. Still, it's a great read.
Viz has brought out 5 volumes though (and I don't know if they plan on finishing - there are 12 volumes).
Oh, and as for the story…each one is about something different (there is a lot of historical references and stuff in the volumes that take place in early Japan) , but the Phoenix/HinoTori is in all of them. And people are always trying to get the Phoenix and drink its blood to gain immortality.
Edit: Shinagamithe3rd beat me to it. But anyway, I don't think Viz plans on continuing the series, because it didn't sell well enough. Too bad, because it's awesome, and I really want to finish it. I would still reccommend it...Volume 2 (Future) and Volume 4 (Karma) are my personal favorites.
