Blue dragon came on today when i got off from school it was on CN at 11:30 for a "SNEAK PREMIER"..>.> it sucks blue balls…the lil main character kid sounded like Fry from Futurama despite hes like 10 years old...the voices didnt fit..it was kind of a laughable dub in my opinion. Then again i only caught the last 10mins
FUNimation Dub FAQ

Yeah, I woke up at 10:30am this morning and turned on the TV and Blue Dragon was on. I could only watch 3 minutes as I had to go run errands with my Mom.
All I know is I'm confused. Why the fuck were they airing a commercial saying it was premiering on April 5th when it wasn't? Are they THAT unorganized?
What's this "International Film Channel" business?
-
NO, Blue Dragon sucks, just sucks. If the ratings are real bad, we might have another Bakugan, geting so badly they had to kick it off toonami after one night.
-
Yo Lobster, some info you will like from TZ
New info…
""BIG applause for One Piece, the first uncut release being the film Adventures in Alabasta.
After this panel there are some bookmarks made from One Piece film cells from Japan. That is ****ing awesome. I don’t even watch One Piece but I want one.
They’re carrying on with the International Film Channel, who just got FUNimation’s title Speed Grapher. FUNi would love to do more Full Metal Panic! but nothing new on that. They will include any One Piece extras they’re given by Japan, but he doesn’t know what that includes.
No word on any of the original Dragon Ball but they’re hoping to release the rest (including GT if they can get the materials. On One Piece, they may go back to the rest of the movies (Alabasta is the 8th) depending on how well the TV series does.""

Um…I originally posted that a few posts back.

Well, the show is pretty much a comedy rather than an action show, so that understandable. I agree the voices weren't so hot. But honestly, doesn't it beat watching Goosebumps or Out of Jimmy's Ass?

Posted this in the e-mail form first.
I have no idea if this is a mistake by the cable company but right now my DVR is telling me it's recording an episode of One Piece on Wednesday night at 10:00 pm.

CartoonNetwork's schedule doesn't list it, but that is rather… interesting.

Neither does my regular cable listing. RomanGod seems to think it's a fluke or something but it's still WEIRD.
EDIT: Okay, yeah, this seems to be a huge fluke because according to my scheduled recordings list the Oscars are on Wednesday as well.
-
DVRs often mess up. It's best not to trust 'em.

They're seriously putting Samurai Jack on out of the blue…?
They really have no clue what they're doing. Toonami's days are numbered.

The kid is 16 , and I don't know about you but I personally can find Blue Dragon more tolerable than "out of Jimmy's ass" and anything original on cartoon network. oh god George of the Jungle is shit.
-

Not to mention Samurai Jack is not even a fucking anime , seriously Cartoon network needs to bring in more anime shows I mean shit , they must be desperate or some thing .

You do realize that Toonami has never been an anime only block, right?
-
Actually, it has. Tons of times. I think what you meant to say was "Toonami has never been just about anime". But most of the time, it's block has been just anime.

Fuck them. Just fuck them all to hell. I fucking hate them.
-
Well, game over.
Damn it.
-
Can't Toei/Funi just shop it around to another network?
-
No ones gonna want it. One Piece is now a failure of a show in America.
-
I would say AZN TV has it's showing another FUNi title, Moon Phase…but I hear that network is closing down soon.
Fuck...
-
Man how disappointing… Wonder what FUNimation will do about it?
-
Yep it's all over folks. It was one long, somewhat gay ride for One Piece here in the states, but its over. Go home to your loved ones, nothing to see here.
-
@Battle:

…The only other channels I know that may even look into it are: Fox (4kids.tv), CW (Kids WB/4Kids.TV...?), Toonami (animonday), or International Film Channel. The first 3 are questionable, given who owns the blocks too... (Not that we'd want to end up back there either but...) And that's if CartoonNetwork doesn't hold onto the broadcasting rights...
So... :wassat:
-
What is this International Film Channel? I know of the International Channel which become AZN TV…which is shutting down soon apparently. I guess FUNi's channel really is the only option...but no one fucking gets that!
-
It doesn't matter.
I'm sure once Toei gets wind of this they'll revoke the rights.
And don't give me that "hope" crap… Look what just happened.
One Piece is DEAD in the U.S. DEAD.
-
[insert obligatory "GAME OVER MAN" macro here]
Shit in a hat, C-N has now taken away the only show I still watched on their network. Wonder what kind of monkey made that call. Maybe they were getting tired of editing to their standards?
Any rate, this can't bode well for ONE PIECE in America. Everyone! Buy the shit outta those DVDs come May!
-
Weren't you the one who was being the "happy" guy some weeks ago?!
-

It's a Payed Cable Channel, that usually broadcasts International Movies, as well as uncut programming, and Indepedent (which is also another word for the I in IFC) Film projects.
I actually get the station, but I'm not sure if alot of people get it. However, it… does seem to have some popular programming on it. This could be a second possibility for FUNimation, since they have a good term relationship with them.
PS. Bayoab just confirmed that FUNimation denied Today (technically yestorday) at their panel, apparently, that CartoonNetwork canned One Piece. As he put it, and I quote.
Left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.
-
Wait? You mean IFC? I got that channel, I watch it every now and then. You guys confuse me, why weren't you just calling it "IFC"?
-
Right hand just gave us all the finger.
-
You guys forgot about the Funimation channel. It's not available on a lot of carriers, but that channel has taken off quite well from what I've heard.
EDIT: Well if Funi is denying reports of its cancellation I trust their word over a news site who could've easily misconstrued something.
-
@Cain:

Yeah, it went from nothing to slighty more than nothing! Huzzah!
-
Yeah, it went from nothing to slighty more than nothing! Huzzah!
Basically.
FUNi's channel is not an option. Not with Toei looming over their shoulders.
-
Hopefully this doesn't mean Toei is gonna yank the rights away from FUNi. If even only the DVDs can continue, I'm fine.
And here, I just started to believe there was hope, fucking Cartoon Network.
-
Like I said, if it wasn't for Transformers, this channel would be fucking dead to me.
-
I'll only accept it on the FUNi channel if FUNi actually manages to get it to major networks. I want it on DirecTV, I want it on Time Warner, I want it on Comcast (what I have), I want it on Dish Network, I want it on anything I'm forgetting.
But really, even if we don't see it. If it keeps Toei happy, I think they should go for it. Least we can still buy the DVDs that way.
-
There is so much sad, stupid irony in this whole thing that it makes me sick. CN sticks around for 2 YEARS with a shitty dub that fails at life. Everyone hated it, but they stuck with it. Now, when they get a great dub that everyone likes, they dump it. With no explanation of justification whatsoever. It liked some Shakespearean comedy of errors or something.
-
The ratings must've gone down. They must've. Even if that doesn't go with what FUNi said.
It doesn't make any logical fucking sense either way. But maybe the public actually liked the 4Kids dub better?
I wouldn't expect any fucking less with this world. Damn it all.
-
We all know Skypiea wasn't the biggest ratings bonanza in Japan.
-
I think we need to pick a topic. This one or the CN canceling one.
-
I'm actually hoping for this to be an early horrible idea of an April Fools joke.
One thing in that article is strange, it says that CN aired all the episodes they had. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't they have much more of Skypiea than that?
-
April Fools…oh please god, OH PLEASE GOD!
-
I'm actually hoping for this to be an early horrible idea of an April Fools joke.
I'm hoping the same thing.
-
It doesn't matter.
I'm sure once Toei gets wind of this they'll revoke the rights.

One Piece is DEAD in the U.S. DEAD.
Holy shit , RomanGod whats with all the pessimism lately ? I think you should at least remain a little optimistic .sure One piece will never attain the popularity that Naruto is exposed to but come on now…....;...
-
I just prayed to God that it's an April Fools joke…not serious praying, mainly joking. But fuck, joke praying is better than nothing.
-

According to FUNimation Cartoon Network ordered the Japanese episodes 144-206.
Someone is not telling us something right here.
-
I'm hoping the same thing.
Seriously, I don't even think I'll be pissed if I find out since relief will overcome the anger a thousand times over.
I'm waiting to hear what FUNi has to say. No doubt people are gonna be bitching at that panel tomorrow. Irony of it is, it's a panel for the uncut premiere, yet the series just got cancelled.
-
Oh, Sakura con isn't over? FUNi will be there tomorrow? ONE OF YOU GUYS BETTER SAY SOMETHING! I'm not asking, I'm telling. This is SERIOUS fucking BUSINESS.
And I agree that the relief will suppose any of my anger.
