Nice try, but I'm on to you boi.
And I see my error on the DLC issue, but Nintendo's online is still weak. So yeah, now just waitin on memory add-ons.

SE's White Engine renamed to Crystal Tools
and
'Crystal Tools' is the new name of Square Enix's company-wide 3-D game development engine, and it'll support Wii.

dun dun dunnn
Guess I won't be online much, ain't no way I'll be paying for Nintendo's mediocre online service. That is, unless they fix it ofcourse, which I'm assuming they will. And even then, without DLC, I won't have alot of reasons to use Wii's online tho.
You actually have pay for that crap? what kind of bullshit is that?
Gotta love how people are missing the fact that only certain games will require payment.
But Gohn, if they acknowledge that fact it renders their complaining to near stupidity! Can't you see that?
@Cyringohn:

Either way it still sounds like some bullshit especially seeing as how Nintendo screwed everybody around who wanted to see the Gamecube go online.

Anyway I bought Pokemon Snap a little while ago for the Virtual Console, and it reminded how I used to play this alot back when it came out for the 64.
I spent hours throwing Pester Balls at Mew.
I'm optimistic that the pay-to-play online games are very robust then.
some more info about Wiiware

About the size of WiiWare games, apparently they won't get much bigger than 40 MB.
Is that for real?
Cause that is some of the blandest, lamest-ass box art I've seen in recent days.
Have you seen the Mario Kart DS box art?
Every Mario game box art should just have a shot of Petey Piranha spewing mud-diarrhea from his throat.
Have you seen the Mario Kart DS box art?
Yes, but at least Mario looks eager and ready to ride in a go-kart on the DS box. Not like a tool with a Fisher-Price Steering Wheel hitching a ride in the invisible boat-mobile

I love this game!
now all thats left for kirby is superstar!
Never got to play the N64 Kirby, def gonna try that out.
I enjoyed it as a kid.
It's a lot slower than other Kirby titles, though, so don't go in expecting it to be like the others.
I played it a couple times at a cousin's house. I loved fusing abilities together.
But damn, a two game week again.
now all thats left for kirby is superstar!
A DS port is in the works so don't count on it being released on the VC anytime soon.
And that's not all that's left, we still haven't gotten Kirby's Dream Land 3 (though I hear it's not that great, I still want to try it).
The power mixing is probably the best part of the N64 Kirby.
They should put that feature in some of the other games.

DS Version is coming out? when?
I so forgot about DL 3 with the friendly creatures.
I remembered today that there was supposed to be a new Kirby game for the Wii.
You were supposed to forget, like the rest of the Kirby fanbase, and Nintendo did when the game was scheduled for GAMECUBE.
Whatever happened to the 2nd Tilt & Tumble game not that I really care.
Well… Looks like I've got my next VC game...
My favorite ability I used during Kirby 64 had to be the ice skates you get from mixing ice and cutter together, plus controlling Dedede was pretty fun to do. I wished the game was a little more fast paced though, other than that I liked it. The vs mode minigames were actually entertaining.
Anyway looks like I'm buying another Virtual Console title.
The mini-games in Kirby 64 were fun as hell, back in the day. My cousin and I would play 'em all the time.
I remember liking the Giant Stone Kirby from two-rock powers.
The Darth Maul-esque swords were cool as well, and then the one that changed you into rock-statues of the Kirby Dreamland 3 partners.
Man, remember the rock-bomb dynamite? Or the bomb-cutter shuriken?
God, those were awesome.
Oh thank God, Kirby 64 is one of those games I never got during the N64 days. I had pretty shitty taste in games back then, actually.
Oooooh! I used to have that one. Can't believe I sold it… I finished it but I never got all the Shards for the final ending. I believed there was supposed to be a sequel or something until I saw the ending on Youtube...
I remember some of my fav combos...
There was the one where he gets the glass and rubs it on his head. And the Ice + Lightning power that turns you into a fridge. Then there was Lightning + Cutter which made that lighting lance.
I already have Kirby 64, so this week is ass for me. Again. Psychosis looks slow as hell for a side-scrolling shooter. :\ Music isn't anything to write home about either.
YOU'RE BREAKING MY BALLS WITH THIS TWO RELEASES A WEEK, NINTENDO!
Hello. New crewmate here. I'm the guy that asked about the Wii hardware thing a few pages ago. Thanks for replying to it, and in such a mature manner unlike most of the other video game-related message boards I've seen.
Now, I'm going to ramble a little. And by little, I mean a lot. Note that I do not yet own a Wii; this entire post is going by many opinions through my surfing of the web as well as a Wii-owning friend, as well as my own thoughts of the system. Also, forgive me if this has been discussed before, but I'm too much of a lazy bastard to read 109 pages…
First Question: What do you think of the Wiimote functions? Do you think Nintendo should have used the Wiimote at all?
My opinion: Probably not. After seeing many discussions and opinions from here and other places, it seems it's doing more harm than good.
Because of the Wiimote and the audience it attracts, Nintendo seems to want to focus on that more casual crowd, and so they release(d) less regular games and lots more mini-games or even board games as a whole console game, some of them having the same price as a regular game. Some games are okay – WiiPlay and WiiSports for example, but that's because they have multiple games on them. There's also WarioWare, but I don't think it should count because it's a first-party game using a known franchise. Unfortunately, some just get ridiculous, IMO; why is Jenga a console game? I would think people would rather play the real thing, especially when the console game costs twice as much.
There are several other problems, but I'll just list them since it would take too long to write them in paragraph form:
Now, Wiimote isn't ALL bad. I actually heard GOOD things about it from most (not all) first-party games, Zack & Wiki, Metroid Prime 3 (I seem to hear positive opinions on the Wiimote for first-person shooting in general, actually), and, I think, No More Heroes. I don't think I can even imagine Zack & Wiki gameplay without the Wiimote. But I think I know why the Wiimote isn't all bad on those games. It's because all those games were Wii-exclusive, not multi-platform ports. So the entire gameplay was designed FOR the Wiimote. Unlike with ports where they're just slapped on so the game would be able to work with the Wiimote (either because it has less buttons than the other platforms' controllers or because they were hoping it would get more sales) and become terrible as a result.
Unfortunately, I believe the bad outweigh the good. And while I may play a Wii game with the Wiimote functions, to be honest unless the Wiimote functions are actually good and fun to play with, I would rather use the Gamecube/Classic controllers for more traditional play, if the game allows it.
The Wiimote is the big thing now, but I think the appeal will wear off eventually. In fact, I think it's wearing off already. I think Nintendo should have stuck with a regular controller by default. MAYBE have the Wiimote as an alternative controller; but not the default.
Second Question: Are you okay with the Wii's graphics?
My opinion: Yes, mostly. The reason I ask this is because I hear the graphical capabilities are actually inferior to PS3 and X-Box 360 (this prompted the Wii hardware question). This may be another reason why third-party developers may not make a game for the Wii, or why some multi-platform games do not make it to the Wii. If it does come to the Wii, the graphics have to make a serious downgrade 'n' stuff. In fact, I hear it isn't too much different from Gamecube at all – "...the reason the Wii is not considered a big target on 3rd parties' radar is that it did not step up it's graphics from the GC." / "With the Wii, Nintendo decided to keep the graphics pretty much stagnant [from the Gamecube] and concentrate on newer Wiimote gameplay." - from a post in another forum I've seen.
This isn't like the previous generation, where the PS2/Gamecube/X-Box pretty much had the same graphical capabilities, with Gamecube and X-Box being slightly better than PS2 (in some games, Gamecube/X-Box versions of multi-platform games had slightly better graphics or framerate than the PS2 version). So there were more third-party games for the Gamecube (I think), and there were more multi-platformers ported to the Gamecube. And all pretty much played the same way with somewhat different button layouts. So there were no problems developing for the Gamecube.
But now it's different.
Now, I'm not saying the Wii's graphics are bad. I've actually seen some very pretty graphics for Wii-exclusive games, like Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Chocobo's Dungeon (the FMVs, anyway). But, if Nintendo really didn't improve on the graphics, then they should have. You'd think they would, being a next-gen system, but…
Last: What do you think Nintendo could('ve) do(ne) to make the Wii better?
My opinion: Less mini-games and board games, more real games, please! Fortunately, Nintendo seems to be getting better at this – there's quite a few real games for me to look forward to this year.
More games with Gamecube/Classic controller options, or less motion sensoring (if zero motions but still playable, even better). They seem to be getting a little better at this, too, this year.
There's more crowds than just curious, coffee-time-killer parents. Remember your more gamerly audience, Nintendo!
Umm. I think that's it. What a first post, huh?
First Question: What do you think of the Wiimote functions? Do you think Nintendo should have used the Wiimote at all?
Personally, I like it. Or at least don't particularly mind it. One thing I've always liked about Nintendo is they aren't afraid to take a risk and experiment. While it may not always work out (Virtual Boy, anyone), they do find some new ideas that work. I was skeptical about the DS touchscreen when I first heard of it. But it works just fine with its games. As for using the Wiimote at all, that's a bit tougher to decide. It's pros and cons are a bit more iffy than a traditional controller. More than either of th eother systems, the quality of Wiimote functions can widely vary from game to game.
Second Question: Are you okay with the Wii's graphics?
While it seems odd that they didn't do a more major upgrade compared to the other two systems, graphics don't bother me that much either way. I played too many SNES RPGs, where graphics were at best secondary IMO, to really be bothered. Long as it isn't blatantly horrible, I can take the lower graphics.
Last: What do you think Nintendo could('ve) do(ne) to make the Wii better?
Fewer "Board" games. I do agree that's a bit overdone… Jenga?! As mentioned, the board game isn't a fraction of the cost and only slightly more messy. It doesn't bother me that they're after casual gamers. Might actully make a smart move if PS3 and Xbox dont' do so, as there's less competition getting in Nintendo's way. For me it's not about hardcore or casual. Long as the game's enjoyable, who am I to complain (much)?

Motion sensing Do Not Want
No a remote can be used for a bunch of things just not playing video games.
@Yuara:
Second Question: Are you okay with the Wii's graphics?
I honestly can't say but if I wanted to play a system with Wii like
graphics I'd go play a Gamecube or My Playstation 2
@Yuara:
Last: What do you think Nintendo could('ve) do(ne) to make the Wii better?
Less casualism why appeal mostly to a group who don't play video games on
a regular basis instead of the people who actually sit down to play video games for multiple hours on end.
Made an actual controller.
Made a built in hard drive.
Better third party support.
@Sandai:

Sandai Mera. .
For god's sake, is it really that tedious to play a Wii game for hours on end? Mind you, not all Wii games require you to shake the Wiimote every single second of gameplay.
thiz is no reel controllur!
where da xbox logo?!
If anyone thinks I'm Wii-bashing, I'm not. Actually, I'd prefer the Wii over the other systems because of all the systems, Wii has the most number of games I'm interested in. I just think Nintendo could or could have improved on it.
EDIT: And Wii-bashing has gotten pretty old, anyway.
@Yuara:
First Question: What do you think of the Wiimote functions? Do you think Nintendo should have used the Wiimote at all?
Perfectly fine. As long as the implementation is just the right amount and done correctly. Wii Sports, WarioWare, even Metriod Prime 3 are good examples of how the Wiimote can be utilized and just add that extra dimension into gaming. Red Steel however is not such an example.
Second Question: Are you okay with the Wii's graphics?
I've typically been a gameplay over graphics kind of person, but thats not gonna keep me from saying that a game looks good or a game looks like ass. Though if the new Smash Bros. Brawl and Galaxy is any indication,
the Wii is perfectly capable of putting forth some good looking titles. Even if its not gonna be all PEE-ES3 ECHKS-BOCKS POWERFUL.
Last: What do you think Nintendo could('ve) do(ne) to make the Wii better?
I think its the third-party developers that need to step up they're games and not produce so much crap after fishing game after Brain Age clone, after JENGA. Though Nintendo could be held just as responsible for not having any quality standards.
First Question: What do you think of the Wiimote functions? Do you think Nintendo should have used the Wiimote at all?
It's nice, and not that hard for extanded periods of time. Though I don't think it's really been revolutionary to gaming as a whole as so much as it's just been something new. But honestly, I buy Nintendo hardware for the IP's more then there nutty control mechanisms. Yes, they should have. MORE MONEYS MEANS MORE MONEYS
Second Question: Are you okay with the Wii's graphics?
Yes. I can understand why they didn't go HD since they are cheap assholes at times. Though I think that part of the reason that they didn't go HD was if the Wii flopped then they'd lose a significant amount of money. Plus I would imagine they know how to use the hardware at this point so it'd be easier for them to do their work. Though that doesn't really excuse stuff from looking like turds.
Last: What do you think Nintendo could('ve) do(ne) to make the Wii better?
Durr
1. Hard Drive/Better SD card support
2. Improve Online Gaming
3. Region Free
4. Mother 3
5. Mother 3
6. Mother 3
What do you think Nintendo could('ve) do(ne) to make the Wii better?
Announce Pikmin 3.
@Cyringohn:
Sandai Mera. .
And Wii-bashing has gotten pretty old, anyway.
Weird because 360 & PS3 bashing hasn't.
For god's sake, is it really that tedious to play a Wii game for hours on end?
Who said that?
First Question: What do you think of the Wiimote functions? Do you think Nintendo should have used the Wiimote at all?
I've never had a problem with the Wii Remote's functions. I actually like the motion-sensing controls for the most part. There are games where the motion-sensing and pointing are totally irrelevant (read: Super Paper Mario) and shouldn't be used at all. The way I see it, just because the console has motion-sensing capabilities, that doesn't necessarily mean it has to use it 100% of the time, although, of what I have seen the Wii do with it is pretty well done. Second Question: Are you okay with the Wii's graphics?
Well, since a few of the Wii's first games were originally made for the GameCube (Twilight Princess, Super Paper Mario), and Nintendo just shoved it all onto the Wii it upsets me a little that Nintendo wasn't making stuff exclusively for the Wii right from the start, and therefore we didn't get a good look at what the Wii's graphics engine could really do.
However, a few scant parts in Twilight Princess and a lot of what I saw from Mario Galaxy and Brawl had me going, "Woah, the Wii can do that?!" So basically if developers (mainly Nintendo) put effort into it, graphics on the Wii can be pretty impressive looking. Or at least I think so.
Last: What do you think Nintendo could('ve) do(ne) to make the Wii
better? 1. Don't make any more Mario Party games.
2. At least one more Zelda or "proper" Mario game for the Wii.
3. More games for Virtual Console at a time. This two titles a week thing is breaking my balls.
I honestly hope all their series represented in Smash get titles that really take advantage of the system while keeping the charm as well.
I think Galaxy accomplished that with Mario, Prime 3 with Metroid, and argurably TP with Zelda. And WarioWare Smooth Moves, in a simple way, did as well. And Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn, although I haven't played it, seems to be good.
But I'd love a new Kirby game, a F-Zero game that greatly portrays the speed of the series, an arcade-style Star Fox that's as memorable as 64, a full-fledged Pokemon RPG, a Kid Icarus remake, Pikmin 3, and hell, a Wii Mother for wishful thinkers.
They supposedly are making Kirby and Kid Icarus for the Wii.
