I do kinda miss the fodder who got killed at the beginning of each "game" because they had no idea what they were getting themselves into and they wouldn't lisen to the few who did.

It seems like one of Iwashiro-sensei's assistant (Kuroki Takafumi) wrote on his Twitter account that the manga he's currently working on as an assistant will be ending.http://community.livejournal.com/weeklyjump/177352.html
I don't actually read Psyren but I thought I'd pass it along.

well it seems psyren ended. The last 20 chapters or so seemed very rushed but I guess its better to give the fans something than to just cut it off without answering the questions. I loved psyren at one point but alas. So what do you guys think of the ending?
-
Completely unsatisfactory. Clearly rushed.
Could have been better.
Unfortunate.

I never really understood why it was always so low in the rankings. It wasn't bad, even if it wasn't exactly the most original series. And yes, the ending was way too rushed, but at least the mangaka tried.
-
Basically, the story relied way too heavily on its premise. There wasn't much that could happen that didn't directly push towards the overall final goal. There couldn't really be arcs where interesting things happened where it didn't seem pointless and super shounen-y. This also tended to cause the characters not to develop much and become very flat and not very likable because of how incredible things got.

no worries, bleach is picking up where psyren left off

So I just speed read through this series… I actually enjoyed the Psi system, and it made for a fun read.
The one thing I don't understand was the need for the Alien... Ouroboros? WHY?
I agree with what everyone said about the characters not being fleshed out, it seemed like only the coward guy got any real character development. Ryu was boring as a sack of dirt, and that mental code part was really pointless.
But I haven't been on edge reading a climax in a shounen in a good while. Ageha also never really got any character development.
I think that "menace" power needs to be added to the "most broken powers list" too.
-
Daaaaamn. i just speed read the series in two days. Everyone seems to be hating on it here!!! Why?? Sure the last part was rushed and the gantz-ishness only lasted a few chapters, but otherwise it was AWESOME!! Cool powers, intelligent fights, no BS nakama powerups. Likeable character. What's not to like?if I were to complain about one thing it would be the lack of developments in the present time. 10-20 chapters more in the present used to flesh out characters, explain stuff or build the relationships could have made the series much better. Oh well, I enjoyed it.
-
The series was rushed because it would occasionally slip into the bottom 5 for a few weeks in a row so the author had to write almost every scenario with a way to wrap things up quickly if it were to be cancelled.

I just got done reading this series. I enjoyed it and I plan on purchasing it

Funny, even with that conviction under him, he still did a pretty good job wrapping things while still making things tense and exciting.
One thing that never is explained however, is what would've happened if the wise leader's life embryo's would've grown. Would it just be a world of PSI users?
