@Death-T:
You're seriously overeacting. No, it wasn't that great. But it really could'nt have been regardless, so there's no point in having such a bitchfest over it. I think the movie is great in a different way in that I can enjoy the Arabasta arc in an hour and thirty minutes, and the movie does an excellent job of readapting the most important scenes in the anime in an alternate form. To watch a movie just to make fun of it is stupid. (unless it's the Dragon Ball liveaction movie…)
no, in my opinion, it did a horrible job. i have honestly seen AMVs that captured the real spirit of the arc better
why the hell are you getting so defensive, anyway? i wasn't having a bitchfest, i had plenty of grounded criticism.
i could go on about how movie 6 had better animation (sadly), how croc's character design changed over and over, how cheap the cg was, how most of the final moves were better in the low-budget anime, how they kept repeating shit, how those weird painted still screens slowed the pace down even further and looked like they'd come straight out of the end of YYH episodes
THAT is bitching and nitpicking. i could write paragraphs on how much i disliked the movie and how bad i felt for dragging people to see it when they could've been doing something more enjoyable (my mom literally preferred hanging out in the parking lot and playing arcade games to watching it). i didn't watch it to make fun of it, seriously, i thought it'd be fun for me and my op-nerd friends to see it on the big screen. but the consensus among us was that it was a waste of money.
i'm sorry if you love the movie or something. i wasn't insulting oda or toei or funi, i wasn't attacking anyone who liked it, i just honestly thought it sucked.
@Tsukento:
LONG fingers are long.
Yeah, no idea what the hell was up with that.
seriously.
vivi, nami, and zoro also looked really freaky through half of it.
