^Yes she has; it started 2 years ago (After the House of M crossover), and I personally enjoyed it.
Should be collected in TPBs-

! the main villian is Stane's long lost son

@Mr.:
Ugh….
EDIT: What's with the hatred of the Spider-man movies? They're the only good Marvel movies. And now Iron man will definitely be right up there with the Spider-Man movies in terms of good live action Marvel movies.
Mega-Fixed.:ninja:
-
I loved the first and second Spiderman movies, the third one lost me a bit, though it was still entertaining.
-
Spider-Man 2 is propably the most perfect Marvel movie of all times. Alfred Molina is indestructable.
-
I agree Spidey 2 is the best of them. They'd probably all be better with someone other than Tobey Maguire as Peter though. But I still love all three.
Anyway, saw Iron Man the other night. Fantastic movie. Loved the humor, and the armor and all the tech and everything else was so badass. Great how they're setting up for other stuff, what with SHIELD and you-know-who after the credits.
-
I don't know. Tobey isn't the best actor, but I thought he actually did a good Peter Parker.
I agree that the first two movies were the best. Three was alright, but it could have been better.
-
Spidey2>Spidey1>Spidey3
-
Just couldnt take spidey 2 serious after he showed his face to an entire train cart of people who of course "promised" not to sell him out to Jamesson and make a fortune.
-
I remember thinking "Jeez, does this guy ever wear his mask?" several times in that movie.
Still liked the movie though.
-

I never knew there were people who hated that part the majority seemed to hate the Dance sequence in three out of any sequence in the three movies.
-
I hated that scene because, baseded on the fact that Spidey's "cold" caused him to lose his powers, and that Doc Ock was in it, I thought it was going to be a homage to one of my favorite scenes from the early days of the comic. When Doc Ock pulled off Spidey's mask if front of some of Peter's friends (while Peter's cold made him lose his powers), and everyone thought Peter was pretending to be Spidey in order to save his girlfriend. I was really hoping for that, then I was let down drastically.
-
The loss of his powers had nothing to do with a cold in the 2nd movie.
When Doc Ock pulled off Spidey's mask if front of some of Peter's friends (while Peter's cold made him lose his powers), and everyone thought Peter was pretending to be Spidey in order to save his girlfriend.
Now that would be stupid.
-
I heard this movie was good from my friends, Maybe I will consider buying the Dvd when it comes out. Also, I liked Tobey McGuire as Spider-Man and I don't see why he gets such criticism. Plus I am disappointed to hear he won't play as Peter/Spider-Man anymore but I would like to have Kirsten Dunce replaced because she didn't fit with the role of Mary Jane IMO .
-
@Mr.:

Eh, he's okay, but they could have found someone better. Peter Parker is a nerd, but he's more of a smart-alecky kind of nerd, whereas Mr. Maguire just seems to protray him as too much of a baby. I dunno, maybe I'm not saying it right.
He's the only casting choice I've ever been iffy about, though. Otherwise, Dunst makes a spunky and likeable MJ, Franco is a great Harry, and Willem Dafoe's portrayal of creepy Norman Osborn gives me shivers every time.
Anyway… how 'bout that Iron Man, eh?
-

Neutered…I mean Fixed.
-
@Freeman-12:
Oh plz do tell (seriously).
Downey wasn't bad, but I didn't like any of his lines, especially when he was in suit. More phony than funny.
The Iron Man itself was under developed. He goes from shaky thrusting and repulsing to a notch below extremis. Check out Batman Begins and Year One and see how it's done.
Stane was a waste of Jeff Bridges. Okay, THAT guy isn't evil. He gets in suit and says something like "I'm bigger and stronger!" in a monster voice.
And Howard was a straight coon.
Not terrible, but Dark Knight is gonna rock the taste out of your mouth. Iron Man is the taste in your mouth.
-
Actually, I agree with you for the most part, but it didn't make me dislike the movie overall. Except about Stane…to me he was creepy evil before he put the suit on.
-
Well, he IS the villain.
-
I think you misread my post…Buccaneer said he thought Stane wasn't evil and I disagreed saying that to me, he was.
-

You didnt like the dialogue ? That was the best part of the movie, His witty banter was top notch.
And as Cosmy said i thought he pulled of the evil vibe excellently before he got in the suit, and yeah he made sort of a silly supervillain but come on are we supposed to think the Iron monger is super bad ass? and as he himself in the movie pointed out, these sorta super powered toys were never his thing but he could get used to it.
also in the plus category, this movie actualy pulled of a beliveable love sub plot twenn Pepper and Stark. Never thought id see one of those in a marvel film.
-
I think you misread my post…Buccaneer said he thought Stane wasn't evil and I disagreed saying that to me, he was.
Yeah, I agree. From the first time you saw him you knew this guy was evil, just looking out for himself.
-

You liked Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane ?. No offense, I personally thought she was bad IMO .
-
Yeah, I agree. From the first time you saw him you knew this guy was evil, just looking out for himself.
I didn't see it coming immediately, but looking back I should have.
! it didn't occur to me that he would have been the one to send him off to be assassinated by terrorists. And when they revealed that it was like "ooooh he's bad"
-
Obviously Cosmic never read the IM comics. Stane was never a friend of Tony Stark; always an enemy.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_Monger#Obadiah_Stane
So yeah, most of us already knew he was the bad guy from the get-go.
-
Of course I didn't, I'm talking in context of the movie itself, which is what it is, despite what the original comic universe says. It made the movie a lot more surprising to have 0 knowledge of the series before seeing it. I never even saw any trailers or previews. It was kind of refreshing to have no expectations.
-
I agree with Cosmic. I never really followed Ironman. The upredictability made it all the more surprising.
-
Well, you two should at least read the Obadiah Stane story, since you've seen the movie. It's a pinnacle of comic book story-telling.
For the love of me, though, I can't remember which issue the final story started it. goes to research it
-
Yeah, I agree. From the first time you saw him you knew this guy was evil, just looking out for himself.
Oh no, I totally thought this, and that was a problem. He was so evil I found it silly that the first half of the film pretended that he wasn't.
And wolfwood I dunno, they were kind of Stark but maybe it's because I saw Leatherheads not long ago, those lines just didn't grab me.
-
Oh no, I totally thought this, and that was a problem. He was so evil I found it silly that the first half of the film pretended that he wasn't.
I don't really think it did pretend he was evil, Tony Stark just didn't realize it. The first image on that magazine cover with young Stark boded bad news to me.
-
Yeah, I knew just about NOTHING about Iron Man prior to seeing this movie, so I didn't know what was going on. I caught on pretty early that Stane was a dirtbag, but I didn't see the other stuff coming. I probably enjoyed the movie as a whole more because of it.
-
You liked Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane ?. No offense, I personally thought she was bad IMO .
Not pretty bad…pretty supercalafragilisticexpialAtrocious
-
I never really thought Kirsten Dunst was that bad as Mary Jane. She wasn't fantastic, but niether was Toby Maguire(Sp?) I thought she did an okay job.
Anyway, back on topic:
I think Downey Jr. was a very smart choice for Stark. He played a really likeable character from the get-go.And I was already aware that Stane was gonna be a a bad guy from the beginning. (Maybe cause I saw him in the robot suit in the trailer.)
Although, I didn't think he'd turn out that evil.
-
I just watched Iron Man..
WONDERFUL
I even stayed for the niceness after the credits.
That was truly up with the top Superhero movies, IMO-Spiderman 1
-Batman Begins
-Iron Man
-Dare Devil (not a word..)Yes, those are top tier.
-
^Agreed 100%
I think Spidey 2 is up there as well.
-
@Lobster:
Yes, those are top tier.
Not Daredevil or Batman Begins but like it's been said your opinion.
-
Daredevil made it into your list? Oh, Lobster. shakes head
-
Never understood the hatred for Daredevil.
Ah well.
-
No plot throughout most of the movie and some pretty big wtf momens, like the fight in the playground. Seriously, how could Elektra fight Murdock there and not see that there was something up with this blind man? It was just like Spidey's fight scene against Bully Flash Thompson in the first Spidey flick.
-
Meh, guess that scene was odd and unrealistic.
Either way, I enjoyed most of the movie. I need to see Batman Begins again dangit! Only saw it once.
-
So some people like stuff that others don't.
Life goes on.
Not really.
Agreed. It was definitely more WTF with the playground scene.
-
@Mr.:
So some people like stuff that a majority of others don't.
Life goes on.
Fixed:whistling:.
@Mr.:
Agreed. It was definitely more WTF with the playground scene.
High schooler doing a flip, twisting a stronger guy's arm, and sending him flying like 20 ft doesn't really seem as far fetched as a blind guy fighting a hot female assassin in some playground.

I just read on comicbookmovie.com that Captain America's shield appears in the movie. Anyone noticed that, cause I missed it.
-
@Sandai:
Fixed:whistling:.
The majority is often correct - and is furthermore quite relevant to the point he was getting at.
Life goes on.
Did they have any screen caps of Captain America's shield making a cameo? That would be sweet, and would seem like something they would have made a bit more visible.
-
Yeah, they have a pic.
I just wanted to know if anyone saw it the first go around. I missed it and saw the movie twice.
-
Hmm… I guess that does look like it.
I definitely missed it though, the focus on that shot was more on Pepper.
-
The majority is often correct - and is furthermore quite relevant to the point he was getting at.
I just helped him get there faster.
-
So, it's a "my opinion is right, yours isn't" sorta deal?
