But the thing is, as much as I love Brook, besides the fact he's a musician, he's not needed that badly. He's a pervert, we already have Sanji. He's a swordsman, we already have Zolo, and Zolo is a better swordsman.

If he wasn't a musician, they wouldn't take him. Laboon helps too, without Laboon, Luffy probably wouldn't care as much either.

But he has his shadow back, he's joining.

I think Luffy has thought that Brooke was awesome ever since laying eyes on him. I don't think he' rated his crew so much based on "need." But, the fact that he's a musician and friend of Laboon are definite pluses.

Also, I think you're selling Brooke's personality short, you're generalizing him far too much. His personality is that of a hypocritical gentleman, and the fact he acts perverted is part of that joke.

And yeah, I can't see how anyone would deny that Brooke is joining after all we've seen of him.

b) He has a dream and we've seen info regarding his backstory
c) The only reason Brook rejected the Mugiwara, is taken care of
D) He's a MUSICIAN!
Even if he rejects Mugiwara, Luffy would hunt him to the end of the world since he found the musician he was searching for.

Huh, I don't think this is right my friend. In the volume 40 SBS, Oda-sensei gives each of the strawhats their numbers. And Luffy counts as number 1, and it goes from there.

Didn't Luffy ask Paulie to join him too? and then helped him rescue Iceburg? You probably have to twist it alittle but technically Paulie fits into that "pattern" too.

Luffy never asked Paulie to join him. The closest we got is Luffy asking Iceburg if one of his men would join. Iceburg said "Yes, but I doubt you could get one to leave Galley La." In the end, he was right.

i think he'll join for sure. But i feel like he hasn't proven himself as a necessity yet and doesn't have a true place to fill. But he DOES have a place to fill as musician. I hope Oda that a musician is as important as chef and navigator to the readers, and not just add him because luffy has an infatuation w/ getting a musician.
