I don't really like Robin's voice or delivery. Maybe it's because she hasn't spoken much and I can't really get used to her like I could Luffy, Sanji, and especially Nami. I also don't like Chopper's voice, much. I mean, she's way too loud… I can't even understand what she's saying half the time. Maybe she's like that in the Japanese version, and I just never noticed because I read subs as opposed to listening and perceiving words.

Nono, she calls him "Captain". It's weird because she's called Nami "Miss Navigator" and Chopper "Doctor", so it's wierd she calls Luffy "Luffy" (pre-Enies Lobby, anyway). IIRC she called him "Captain" up until Spandam received the call from the Den Den Mushi explaining the horrid situation in Enies Lobby (Episode 273, I think).

Well I get sickened by the elitist that pretty much want One Piece to be shown on TV in Japanese with probably K-F subs since they think K-F is the most accurate translator EVER!
Let's face it. Even if One Piece got the Naruto treatment. Even if One Piece was completely uncut. You would still bitch about every little thing because in your mind it could never compare to the Japanese version.
I for one enjoy the dub. I for one think it's a good dub. I for one think that over time it's going to have the Naruto treatment. But heck if I wanna come into each and every dub thread just to hear you guys BAW because you can't accept that Funi is doing a great job with the dub edits and all.
Honestly if you want to act like how NaruTards have and still do with their dub then go ahead, but heck if I want anything to do with that. I'm just going to enjoy the dub, and then I'm going to enjoy the uncut DVDs while you're still complaining how the uncut DVDs just aren't "uncut" enough for you.

Well maybe I'm tired of people who complain about the dub just for the sake of complaining about it. Especially when Funi actually is giving the fans a great One Piece dub. As I said the dub could be completely uncut and people would still complain about it.
Heck at least the Funi dub is watchable, and it's been pretty damn faithful to the Japanese version too unlike 4kids version. All I'm saying is. Quit making a mountain out of a molehill. There's just no point to it. If you're THAT unsatisfied with the dub then just stick to watching fansubs and let the people who enjoy the dub enjoy it without all the pointless bitching.

I loved the whole Pierre (sp?) the bird-horse scene. And the fish, I loved Luffy's face when he grabbed it away from Robin for a quick-fry. I always knew that Sonny was perfect for Ussop, he nailed the "There's something in my pants" line.
I also thought Zoro was getting better, it sounds as if all of the VAs are settling into their roles rather quickly. Some of my Zoro favorites this week were "Uh, guys…..... he's not coming up," his exchange with Sanji about calling him a moron, and the way he delivered the line, "That settles it: we go that way."
Oh… and horray for original attack names!

You know, I just watched Naruto last night, and it still amazes me how unedited it is. Apparently, even splattering blood is okay now. When Kabuto attacked Tsunade, the blood from his attack was completely unaltered. Not to mention that her face was covered with it as well. Both shows are SUPPOSEDLY rated TV-PGV, yet they won't even allow Zoro to hold his sword to some guys neck.
That seems to me to reek of failure.
It's still edited to some extent like Gai hitting Lee (the punch connecting was skipped and the blood coming from Lee's nose was removed) and any
Nosebleeds resulting from Naruto Harem Jutsu (these are just some of the edits I can recall) -

This one i not fully aware of becauseit might have been a translator's error (in the manga) or it may have been removed or edited from the anime but wasn't there a point during her fight where Kabuto where he mentioned how fat her breasts(Tsunade's) were.

As far as scripting goes, FUNi does a good job. The script may not always be accurate (or even remotely close at times), but I happen to believe that it's better for something to sound good in the language it's being presented in, rather than have something be awful but an exact translation (a problem Studiopolis hasn't yet realized).
But the whole Robin thing…it IS kind of important. It's one of those subtle character traits that define their personality. Like how Vegeta always calls Goku "Kakarott."

In this world, if you do something wrong, you get called on it. That's what this is.
You take a test, you get eight out of ten answers right, you still get marked off for missing two. Your teacher doesn't say "Oh, well, he got eight out of ten, I'll give him 100% for doing so well".
Funi is doing things wrong. We are calling them on it and bringing it to their attention. Hopefully, we are doing it soon enough that they can correct their errors in time for a DVD release. So that when it is time for DVDs to come out Funi will have produced a product worth spending MY MONEY on. Because if they don't, then I will end up doing what you suggest and stick to fansubs.
Funi wants my money, they better !@#$ing earn it. You don't get credit for trying real hard', you get credit for doing it right.
Edit: I would also like to point out that Funi is in a rare position that they actually can fix these things. They know they rushed these episodes out the door, they know they've messed up a few of things, and they have time and opportunity to correct them. So it is our job as fans to point out everything we can find to put on that 'to do' list.
If your standards are so lax that anything that doesn't make your ears bleed and your eyes melt is fine by you, then fine. But don't bitch about people doing their duty as fans, working to make sure the DVD is the best possible release it can be.

As far as I'm concerned, FUNi just needs to fix the English "We Are" a bit (which I already know they're gonna do), and they've got my money. I think they just need to get rid of the reference to Luffy in the lyrics.

Because FUNI calling him Rafiette, accidently missing the mystery lines, and having Robin call her crewmates by name is doing it wrong am I right? And I'm sure all the constant bitching about how they're wrong and how K-F is law is showing them what for huh? After all outside of the few minor changes in names as well as a few minor things that aren't even noticable by anyone who doesn't watch fansubs how is Funi doing it wrong? Have they done something I don't know about like change major plot points?
Also as far as MY money goes Funi has already proved the One Piece dub worthy enough to spend money on.

One Piece's edits are definitely extreme considering how much violence actually means to the series, especially tense scenes. Now I'm even more pissed after hearing how uncut Naruto is, especially since that's at a fucking earlier timeslot. Dammit, not I'm really angry, how does I email CN?

They've all ready earned it from me, I can deal if Robin calls Luffy by his name, I don't like it but I can deal. I'll be a tad disappointed but as long as they correct their mistakes in the long run, it'll be okay.
BUT
IF for any reason, (be it mistake, oversight, I don't even care what the excuse is) I hear Zolo, Trace or Merry Go on the DVDs, even just ONCE, you can bet I will send them back to Funi and demand my money back.

Yeah, CN has been failing pretty hard lately. Had anyone caught their so called afternoon block "Funny for your face!?" Let me tell you, just watching it kind of makes me want to die. Not only are the bumps the most obnoxious things I've ever seen, they made some short with that Blake retard. CN's favorite child prostitute apparently goes to some concert with some boy band or something. Just looking at it stunned me, because that could not possibly have anything LESS to do with cartoons.
But back to One Piece. I'm having a hard time getting used to Robin, mostly because Veronica Taylor screwed up my head. And Luffy is starting to sound WAY too much like Ash Ketchum for my tastes. Hopefully Laura Bailey as Conis will make up for it. 100 bucks says she voices Apis later on.

I honestly don't mind if people point out little problems. That's all fine. Simply saying "Hm, Robin normally calls Luffy by his title rather than his name." is good. It explains where the problem lies and that it should be fixed.
However, as each week passes, instead of getting those type of a comments, we get the "ZOMG I CANNOT FUCKING BELIEVE THOS E IDIOTS RAWR ROBIN SHOULD BE CALLING HIM CAPTAIN, NOT HIS NAME!!!!"
