R.I.P. Justin Cook's awesome Bellamy.
I wouldn't worry, in a big series like this there is a good chance of seeing him voice someone else.

The mood itself and Bellamy being knocked down with one punch did it well enough. An imprint only hightend the mood. It actually wasn't necessary if we still saw that Luffy beat down a shit talker like Bellamy with only one punch after he was barely visible due to him bouncing around so quickly.
It still makes no sense they'd change it from Ogre to Auger.
G.Zass Christ!
They didn't change it from Ogre to Auger. It is Auger. It always was Auger. He's named after the pirate John Auger. The guy is a marksman. 'Auge' is German for 'eye'.
ah so Burgess is the G-man eh? XD
As I said I thought the punch was handled well. Though I don't know why they cut out the part where Bellamy yelled "this is it! Farewell Straw Hat!" It just almost felt kind of rushed there, but I still felt the punch was good, and at least it wasn't a flash.
I have GOT to draw a gag picture of Bartholamew Kuma happy they didn't edit his name to bear.. god .. I'm sorry, but that would have sounded soooo incredibly terrible.
Odd, looking at the credits, Van Ogre is listed as Auger….
http://www.sonicfighters.com/AnimeStuff/One%20Piece/Dub/Auger.jpg
Thanks for the credits shot. I was watching the end going DAMN! So many credits!
Anyway, I can't really add much. Voices were GREAT. When I first heard Sengoku speak I was like "Oh SNAP Fuhrer Bradley!" Loved Mihawk, he was SPOT ON! When I heard Whitebeard, I thought to myself, he really gives off a Pirate-y voice without going overboard with "Arr" or any kind of accent with Geoffrey Rush's Barbossa in PotC coming to mind.
I find it ironic WB is voiced by R. Bruce Elliot, the guy I thought voiced Blackbeard before I saw the credits when he first appeared.
And yeah when the 4Kids names like Teech and Zass came up, I thought the same thing as Mato, obviously an unfixed mistake that'll be rectified on the DVDs. I think when we get an idea of when the first set comes out, we should ask Funi via Email if that is INDEED fixed. Or ask someone like Justin Cook or Mike McFarland at an upcoming con.

Bartholomew Bear says that only YOU can start forest fires.
Indeed. The only other alternative would be if Luffy's smash ruptured part of Bellamy's skull, but even then an imprint would be difficult to leave behind.
There was an episode of Mythbusters that tried to test this theory out, only it involved leaving an imprint of a skull ring in a person's face instead of your fist. They used a special punching machine and a replica of a human skull (down to the precise bone thickness) covered with makeshift flesh. They tested the theory using standard human punch, heavyweight boxer punch, and a superhuman punch. In the end, none of the punches left an imprint but the superhuman punch (which Luffy has) did shatter the temple of the skull replica.
So, if Monkey D. Luffy did punch someone out like that in real life, they'd be dead in an instant.
I still don't know how the fuck to pronounce Doflamingo's first name, the dub didn't help at all…all I heard was gibberish. Tho I'm happy I've pronounced "Doflamingo" correctly all this time.
Quixote is pronounced Kee-ho-tee.
Only one thing bothered me.
The spacing between Blackbeard's and Whitebeard's names. Wasn't the original Blackbeard name a single name?
So, what'd everyone think of that text they used for people's name in this episode? I think it's called "comic sans" and it looked weird seeing it on screen. What the japaense text anything like that, I don't remember?
…?
Blackbeard ...
White Beard ...
Explanation?
I still don't know how the fuck to pronounce Doflamingo's first name, the dub didn't help at all…all I heard was gibberish. Tho I'm happy I've pronounced "Doflamingo" correctly all this time.
Don Key-oh-tee. Think of it as a mix of a Don, a key and a coyote. :P
They needed to translate Kuma…it's Bear. Kuma means Bear in Japanese, why leave it untranslated? It needed to be Bear not only for the sake of it not mixing in pointless Japanese, but because it fits his role.
By that logic, they might as well call Choppy by the name "Reign Reign Chopper" since the Tony comes from "tonakai" which is Japanese for reigndeer.
I'm not a big fan of the font FUNi used on the title texts. Would have liked something more bold and bulky.
It's fine. It's not like they're using the DBZ font. It works for the show.
Rafitte is perfectly acceptable. His name isn't confirmed Lafitte, people just presumed it was cause a real life person had that name, but there's no proof Oda gets names from all these sources.
Yes. I'm sure that in spite of naming a dozen or so characters after pirates, Rafitte is his intended name and the fact that there's was a famous pirate named John Lafitte is just a coincidence.

You don't know how to pronounce Don Quixote? One of the most world renowned pieces of literature to ever come out of Spain?
Tell me you're not a high school graduate.

Pains me to do this, but I have to disagree with you. Keeping it as Kuma is as bad as having crappy engrish. Unless Oda romanizes it as Kuma, then Kuma is simply a popular fan liked name cause someone decided it'd be more catchier if they left half of his name in Japanese.
Maybe the Bear/Kuma is a lipflap thing.
And dammit! I knew I wouldn't be able to keep away from this thread.

François l'Ollonais
Roronoa Zoro
ahem
I thought the text looked nice. Also he may not have been called Sengoku the Buddha but Sengoku Gensui isn't half bad either.
and Mihawks voice was very impressive I thought. Much better than the french accent and it was great that they left in his sword.
Also is it just me or did Doflamingo have kind of a brooklyn accent on him, but not a strong one like Joey from Yugioh had. Still you could hear it.
People who keep saying that Luffy's puch should have killed Bellamy hear me!
Bellamy is a springman. Even if he can only control his legs…he's still 100% spring.
The fistprint never really made sense to me, I'm not too worried if it's edited out. Either way I'm sure it's still clear that Bellamy was knocked out.

You know what this means?
ROLL BELLAMY DOWN SOME STAIRS! WE HAVE A HUMAN SLINKY!
Nope, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I do NOT want to think of Bear when I hear Kuma. It would be like calling Captain Kuro Captain Black, it sounds wrong and weird to me.
By that logic, they might as well call Choppy by the name "Reign Reign Chopper" since the Tony comes from "tonakai" which is Japanese for reigndeer.
Half right, it was a pun. The second part of the pun was Hiruluk saw his antlers as able to "chop" down a tree.

People would call him Captain Jack.:ninja:
If the guy's name was going to be "Bear," Oda would have called him as such. Not EVERYTHING has to be translated.
Meh in a world where no one can die outside of flashbacks you really think Luffy would kill Bellamy in one hit?
Wow, 31 pages and not one ass kissing remark for Justin Cook. This must be a new record!

Agreed, after all it's anime.
It's because everyone's come to terms that Justin Cook was awesome.

Bellamy is a springman. Even if he can only control his legs…he's still 100% spring.
1. His cheek didn't look very springy to me in the original, what with it being all mashed and everything.
2. Nobody's saying Luffy should have killed Bellamy. You've missed the point.
3. The point being that the edited blow is actually more pleasing to look at than the original play-doh face. One of those rare occasions where an edit is used for good instead of evil.

What do you mean? As far as I know Oda hasn't wrote his name in English. So "Bear" is the most logical translation.
Everyone already knows Justin Cook can kick Chuck Norris's ass xD He's THAT BADASS. I love him.. wish I could show up as Bellamy at a con he'd be at.. I'd totally make him sign my coat.. T__T wahh He's sooo badass xD He sounded great in this ep.

You fail at pg. 30.

Now you're making me sad that I missed it
I got a Bellamy related question: Does anyone know who did that shitty Bellamy voice from Grand Adventure?
Episode 151 Download:
I LOVE SO SO MUCH~! :wub::wub::wub::wub:

WOOT! Now I can catch the very beginning of the episode.

ALREADY!? YES! THANKS!
What do you mean? As far as I know Oda hasn't wrote his name in English. So "Bear" is the most logical translation.
It would read as "Bear" in Japanese, rather than "Kuma." Similar to how Captain Kuro's name is written out as "Kuro" and not "Black."
Unlike some other manga writers, Oda's English is good, so he knows when to use English or Japanese words when writing out words.

Andrew Rannells.
And it was only Pirate's Carnival.
Fantastic episode. Everything was so, so great. I laughed when G.Zass was shown….
And again, for you guys still bitching, such changes will not be in the DVD releases which do not have plans to release the broadcast version.
Thanks for your hard work ChibiGoku. If someone could upload the ep onto a streaming site I would be very grateful. :)
Episode 151 Download:
Thanks a million!
EDIT: Really looking forward to showing my sister this episode. I said that Luffy vs Bellamy was one of the longest and most amazing fights in the series.
@Tommy:

Oh okay. I get them confused.
Chibi Goku! You are a…
! HERO!!!
eagerly awaits Veoh upload
Again, did anyone notice they left in Zoro's scars in that quick flashback with Mihawk? It might have been because the scene was black and white, but there was clearly blood in that scene.
