He looks pretty badass, wish we coulda really seen him in the anime (with one episode left i doubt they'll find the time to somehow put him into it, expecially when his only tie to the series (Kamina) is dead.)

Episode 26 was weird… I could understand the alternative demnsion thing but Boota going crazy wih Spiral power and becoming furry? And what was up with the weird fantasies? And coming out of Nia's ring? What? Only 1 episode left in this awesome show...

An OVA is always possible.

Daisuke's character sketch looks like it came from the original 40% topic on Yotsuba. It's been so long I don't even remember if it was one of the posted images. D:
Boota going crazy wih Spiral power and becoming furry?
Spiral energy can become mass. It became the ocean and adds mass to Gurren-Lagann's Giga Drill Break technique, not to mention repairs GL sometimes. Boota was exposed to Simon's spiral energy for seven years, which started to change the shape of his DNA. His evolution got kick-started by Lord Genome and he turned into a human because that's the optimal shape for a spiral being.
And what was up with the weird fantasies?
Anti-Spiral trapped everyone in their own imagination, like the Matrix. It's an artificial world created from alternate possibilities. Supposedly intelligent human beings would never be able to reason their way out of it, but Kamina kicks reason to the curb so once he shook some sense into Simon, Simon managed to get everyone else out of there as well.
And coming out of Nia's ring? What?
That's how the warp worked. The Spiral Recognition System basically locks onto someone's memory of an item and the ship teleports them to that item anywhere in the galaxy or across dimensions. The reason Anti-Spiral hadn't been defeated before is because people didn't find his hide out between the tenth and eleventh dimensions perpendicular to our own. Simon warped through the bisection but got caught in that false space, where the Galactic Spiral Trench was. When he warped the second time, the only place that was of spiral space in Anti-Spiral's lair was the ring, so logically the wormhole (which doesn't obey classical or contemporary physics anyway) had to emerge out of there.
Remember, when Simon was testing the system he warped out of a dirt wall. Wormholes can be ripped from anything that exists in real space.
I don't know what's going on in Chou Ginga Gurren-Lagann though, it's probably just floating there in the false space.
Also keep in mind Gurren-Lagann has a tongue-in-cheek approach to science fiction, which IMO is a great way to go. See how everyone's confused about the weird physics? That's great! Don't think about it and just enjoy the fun!

To be quite honest. It was this particular idea that perturbs me, and youe sorta wrong and right at the same time. It's like the matrix, but look at the way it was done. It's more like NGE's human instrumentality project finale. I really don't like the fact that Gainax reused this idea, but then again they did it so well and it just added to the amount of GAR and EPIC factors that it becomes okay. Not to mention the fact still remains that they planned the story out, and for that fact the level of GAR and EPIC multiplies into infinite, cause Gainax can still pull off the GAR and EPIC without being all random.
-
Watch your G&E use, you only had to say them once, we got the idea the first time. :P
…
I never saw Eva's instrumentality, but the "mental illusion" trap is a common last-ditch stock weapon/scenario for an omnipresent entity.

I think they even pulled it in Digimon a couple of times. Nothing new.
-
So far I've been convinced that Gainax is going for a Space Runaway Ideon type ending with this series ending when Simon destroys the universe and all other universes….
I hope I'm wrong though cause I'd rather not see a bad end.
-
Now I'm imagining Simon with Cosmo's afro.
Thanks a lot Aethos.

its also pretty standard in fantasy, the Good side usually has more numbers and attacks the physical while the bad side is usually few and goes after the mind

Anyone else hoping Lord Genome can get his body back somehow? I would love to see him fight again.
-
Seeing as there have been so many Gunbuster refrences in GL lately, I feel this is appropriate to post here; http://www.gametrailers.com/player/usermovies/110648.html

Lazengann's head is sticking out of Tengen Toppa's Gurren mouth. We know it's Lazengann because the eyes are yellow with red highlights and the metal colour is grey, not the peach of Chou Ginga's face.

As I mentioned before also, "Spiral" Evolution might be able to get his body back, in theory at least.

I miss the Gurren-Brigade… Even though the majority of them didn't add much to the story till now it feels so empty without them... Zoushi, Aliac, Kidd, Jougan and Barinbou, Makken, Kamina...

well that was fast

So was this.

GAR: http://lurkmore.com/wiki/index.php?title=GAR
/a/ http://lurkmore.com/wiki/index.php?title=/a/Moe~ Since lurkmore doesn't have a definition~ My explanation~
It's hard to explain since IMO, wikipedia doesn't exactly define moe~ nicely so I'll say it,The moe~ culture has always been a big rouse around either /1/, all of the internet, or any otaku group in Japan. Moe~ is a term for cute, beautiful, or very much, in short term in my explanation, "pretty" "cute" "Beautiful" female anime characters in some form in terms of anime/manga culture. Moe~ has been into kinds of forms, from Meganeko (Glass girl moe~), Tsundereko Moe~ (Mean yet loving girl~), Dokijo moe~ (Silent yet cute girl), in any case, the kind of love and style for any anime female in a series. The image below is an example of what Meganeko Moe~ would be:
-
-
Luigi:"Breaking through the galaxy & the milky way!"
Koopa:"The life echoing through out the galaxy!"
Luigi & Koopa:"Union of Raging Billows,ARC-YOSHI!" -

Use this, it's your friend.
But as a courtesy, moe is slang for emo, GAR is originally a corruption of gay but is used to indicate a badass, and /a/ is a sub forum on 4chan.net.

As far as I know, moe is closer to "Cute" than to "emo"…It´s means "attractive" to some extent... for example, Young Nia is moe, girls with glasses(like Kinon) are moe, school swimsuits are moe, nekomimi(Cat ears) are moe...of course, the meaning and the things that are "moe" vary depending on the person´s tastes. For a lot of people, the most moe character in this show is no other than Viral, specially when Adiane was beating him up
Also, I think the recap is worth watching just for the songs and the special ending

Didn´t anyone find strange that, being drills the strongest weapons for the Spiral power, only GL(or Arc-GL, or Chouginga-GL) had them? King Kittan didn´t even have a drill, he just took one of those broken drills from GL to do the final attack
-
I think a good rule of thumb is that every time "Fire Fist" Ace thinks he knows what he's talking about, he doesn't

@CaptainAWB:

Not now. When it came out, it was nice to watch and listen to while taking screenshots, but you might as well skip it.
@CaptainAWB:

Normally I'd just tell you straight out or say signature but since we've gone over this numerous times in both GL topics, you should sift through those first or do a post search.
Still, since everyone else swung I guess I'll put up something as well.
…
"moe" is Japanese slang for a confused sexual fetish, in my view. The Japanese assert it's non-sexual - their view is that moe describes that protective mothering instinct whenever someone sees something "endearing", or cute/innocent. Example, one sees a kitten doing kitten stuff like rolling around in a ball, sniffing and strange things, etc. Most people would get some emotional response to this and say stuff like "aww, so cute!" try to protect the kitten, take care of it, and whatnot. Same with babies.
Only "moe" applies solely to humans, specifically young girls. Americans simplify it by saying it's the love of anime girls portrayed as being innocent or inexperienced with the world, hence "cute". The parallel for this should be obvious, which is why moe is usually looked down on by most people in the tubes - I see it as Japan trying to deny a sexual impulse toward something by pretending it's a "protective instict".
If you've ever seen Ouran Host Club and know of Tamaki's "daddy" relationship with Haruhi, that's pretty much it. Tamaki considers Haruhi moe and is drawn to obsess over her, but even he doesn't undersand he's in love with her. He probably didn't understand because she acts rather child-like, hence the dissonance.
Gar is so much easier to define than that cheddar cheese.
This is probably the best definition of Gar around, even better than the lurk more one, though its not truely accurate about the history of the term. But it was well done. Simplest summary - "extreme hardcore manliness, badarseness. Literally the incarnation of what it means to be a man".
/a/ is anime sub-forum of Yotsuba, where a good number of AP folks frequent. Lurk's entry on it is rather good, I should say with some pride.
